Combo B, plus a California Roll on the side

I moved into the neighborhood in, and I have been patronizing Sango Sushi since, 2002. This restaurant is good whenever I want a non-nonsense sushi meal. The sushi "Combo A" and "Combo B" are samplers of the most commonly ordered sushi items on one plate and provide a good meal for the solo diner. The noodle bowls are also good.

I went to Sango recently since the Sango restaurant in Los Alomitos closed :'( the staff was very friendly and super helpful with my order. I ordered the Seasme Chicken which is what I would usually order at Sango. Their Seasme Chicken comes with rice, salad, carrots, coand broccoli. The main reason why I love their chicken is that their chicken is crisp and not overly salty. The Sesame chicken at this location was good but it seems it was fried a bit different? I'm hoping it was just the day that I went. But since it tasted almost the same I would still order it again. Note: -They have plenty of parking spaces. -They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating -They are open on Monday to Saturday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sundays they open at 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM

We ordered around 11:30am for lunch. I paid and tipped. Small and quaint restaurant. I rated them three stars because the lady that took our order told me she would bring our food outside once it was ready. We were busy talking and then I realized it had been 30min! I went inside to ask and she had it on the counter packed for to-go. I was annoyed that she didn't think to call me or actually come outside where we were sitting. By the time we got our food, it was luke warm and that just left a negative impression on me. It was my first time dining here and unless my friend wants to come back, I most likely won't. We got the Super Bento box and Bento Box. Overall, the food was decent and pricing was fair for what you get. They are generous with the quantity.

Tried new items including the baked salmon roll & Thai tea. So good. Prices may have gone up a little (what hasn't?) but the quality and portions make it alright.

Nice staff, quick service. Not fine dining by any stretch, but great selection and value. Will be back!

This is a small unassuming sushi spot which caught our attention with their sign advertising their $12.75 bento box which listed 1/2 a rainbow role, ribeye teriyaki chicken, salmon nigiri, chicken Katanga, miso soup, salad, steamed vegetables, and seaweed salad. We found out it was the starting price but ordered it anyways because it was only $18. We couldn't believe the amount of food it was and everything came out fresh, hot and absolutely delicious! It seriously is a meal for two people. Of course my husband ate all his and I had to take most of mine to go. This is a must try when you're craving a sushi meal and not looking to spend $70.

Very fast and efficient service. Very good food too. Prices are fair. When I call in my prefer, it's ready for pick up when I get there.

My hope is that management can use this as constructive feedback to fix some obvious quality control and service issues. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing sushi experiences I've had in the past couple of years. For $22 total ($10 for the standard Tuna Roll and $12 for the standard Eel Roll, not a dragon roll which was I think close to $20 or over), the baseline quality and service just weren't there: * Portions & Value: Both rolls were cut into 5 pieces instead of the standard 8. Paying $22 for a grand total of 10 skimpy pieces is a tough sell on value alone, but the assembly made it worse. The rolls were haphazardly made, falling apart on the plate, and stuffed with minimal fish filling. * Freshness: The fish did not taste fresh and had a strange, off flavor to it--possibly an inventory turnover issue. Freshness is everything at a sushi bar, and having to worry about food safety after a meal is never a good sign. * Kitchen Execution: The $12 Eel roll arrived completely dry without any sauce. The server brought over teriyaki sauce when I had 2 pieces left as if they forgot to put it on. So I drenched the sushi in the sauce to hopefully cover the flavor only to realize he gave me teriyaki sauce for a rice bowl instead of standard unagi/eel sauce. * Management Response: When I brought up to the manager that the eel roll really was not good, she walked back to the kitchen, came back, and simply said, I spoke with the chef and he said it was normal. Bottom Line: Errors happen in restaurants, but brushing off customer feedback, using odd sauce substitutions, and serving loose, dry rolls with questionable fish quality shows a serious need for retraining. Hopefully, management takes a closer look at what's coming out of that kitchen. Look elsewhere in OC for sushi

We had an order of Uni, a hand roll with Wagyu and Uni, a soft shelled crab appetizer and the Kiwami roll. Everything was so good. They obviously use high quality fish and ingredients. The server was proud that their Uni is Japanese Uni which is of higher quality than many other sources. The employees were very friendly. In fact we came back a week later and had a similar experience. This looks like a go to sushi restaurant for us.

Today, the entire restaurant was full! It wasn't loud but you could hear a few of the larger tables conversing, not a real issue. The lunch menu has a great variety. The combos include sushi, tempura, teriyaki. And all combos include soup or cucumber salad and rice. I had my favorite today, teriyaki chicken. The chicken was grilled and flavorful, cooked perfectly! It also came with tempura shrimp and veggies. Nothing was greasy, nice and fresh too. All of their lunch specials are competitively priced, compared to other lunch specials, not necessarily Japanese food and not as good as Matsu. I can't wait until my next visit. Note the hours. Our table was already too small for four people, yet they added two more seats, leaving us extremely cramped with barely any room to eat comfortably. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing. It seemed like the kitchen was rushing to finish for the night. The fried rice was very dry, undercooked, and lacked flavor, while the meats and vegetables were also undercooked. Overall, the quality of the meal was far below what we expected. I initially didn't want to make a big issue of it, but unfortunately, all of us became sick later that night. While I can't say with certainty that the food was the cause, the timing was certainly concerning. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant. Between the poor service, lack of attention to the dining experience, disappointing food quality, and what happened afterward, this was definitely not a place we would return to
