My friends and I went for brunch today (11-12-17). I must say the ambiance was welcoming and we were greeted by friendly staff. We all ordered the same thing from the pre-fixed menu. Empanadas for appetizer and steak and eggs for entree. The food was delicious but the orders weren't accurate. I would suggest that the server writes down the orders and present them to the kitchen as there was a breakdown in communication for the orders. We had the red and white sangrias as well as the mimosas. The drinks were GREAT!!! I'm excited to come back to try the sangria flight. I hope by then the service will be tighten up. I have been here several times for Brunch, and decided to switch it up and go for Happy Hour last night. There was a promoter greeting customers at the door, offering a free drink ticket to each of us and stating there would be a discount on our bill. Service was extremely slow, my friend asked for water as soon as our drink orders were put in, and had to keep asking for about an hour. When our food did arrive, it was very difficult to find anyone even just to get a refill on condiments. It seemed as if they had a staff shortage, that was overwhelmed by the amount of customers. The drinks were meh. My friend who ordered the rope vieja said it tasted old and like it was reheated in the microwave. When we got the bill, I noticed that we were charged for the free drinks and the overall discount was missing. Also, the burger that had a listed surcharge on the menu for adding bacon was over double that amount. After pointing this out to our server, we were given a corrected bill and gave her 3 cards for payment. Our server came back to the table and announced that her manager told her that she wasn't allowed to split payment 3 ways, and therefore only 1 card was charged for the entire amount. That should have been mentioned before charging the card not after, and especially not without getting permission from the cardholder. My friends and I all live in the neighborhood, and won't be returning anytime soon. read more

ZERO STARS!!!!!! Absolutely horrible customer service and business practice!! Waited over 20mins for our drink orders to be taken. Then had to wait an additional 20 mins for our food orders to be taken. My party of three ordered a kid's meal, filet mignon, and short ribs. The kid's meal arrived about 30 mins later, then the short ribs arrived 30 mins after the kid's meal, with them stating that there was no more filet mignon. Shouldn't that have been communicated well before the arrival of the second meal? Now, we have to sit with the awkwardness of my girlfriend eating in front of me with no food. We had the waiter call the manager over. The manager acknowledged that the kitchen was back up and that they were at fault for not fully communicating that there was no filet mignon left. However, he did nothing to resolve the issue. He simply asked what do you want instead? Another steak was suggested, again having to wait over 30 mins. I want you to know by this time, our drinks are finished, the kid's meal is finished, and my friend's meal is also finished. So again we called the manager over asking if we could remove the steak from the bill since they inconvenienced us. His reply was "If you don't want the steak on the bill, then you can't get the steak". -_- Huh?!?! What sort of customer service was that? I had to wait close to 2 hours for a meal that was never available, to begin with, then forced to choose another option, and expected to pay for it after waiting that long? Absolutely not, shame on that manager for his poor business etiquette and unwillingness to properly resolve an issue that was the restaurant's fault. I will not be dining here again. read more

I order the the salmon (well done) on a bed of shrimp mashed potatoes and a side order of sweet plantains...Love! The Hennesse Sangria is the tastyyy!! Will be back again just for that. Came here with a friend on a week night. The only reason I'm giving them a 3/5 is because the food definitely needs to be improved. We had the Cuban spring rolls which were mediocre, and the chicken flatbread. When they brought it out the cheese seemed like it had cooled down a long time ago, and the chicken was dry. They probably make better drinks, the coconut mojito was really good, although a bit weak. Our second time back I loved the chicharrón de pollo and tostones, but I had to leave the chicken wings which had way too much breading. The music was great, a mix of Spanish hip hop, and pop. Outside of the fact that it is a monthly visit for me personally as well as a referral to friends and family who want good food and ambiance in the Bronx, I was able to have my school celebrate their year end party there in June! I loved the atmosphere at this restaurant. Very chill, subtle lighting, and great music to enjoy listening to over a meal. I had an appetizer, drinks , dinner, and desert here. Sangria sampler; is a great choice, you pick and choose the flavors you'd like. They're all good and all have a kick! Not weak at all. My appetizer was the Arepita with shredded pork -AMAZING! Lastly, my main course was Churrasco w/ Yuca mash. The Yuca mash had little to no flavor to me and the Churrasco was like a any other one I've tried. The cuatro leche (4 milks) cake was also like your typical tres/cuatro leche you'll try anywhere else. Overall, the service, ambience, drinks and appetizers are great. I have been frequenting this place since the opening and I LOVE it! Never had a complaint until today. We arrived on a Tuesday night at 9:45 and were told the chef was gone and the kitchen was closed. Google information states the restaurant closes at 12am and has no indication the kitchen closes at 9:45. The wait staff was generous enough to get the kitchen to make us something fried. As loyal patrons we decided to stay and order. My drink came out without ice....the Manager was sitting outside where we were seated watching the wait staff turn MULTIPLE groups of people away, as they tried to explain the new hours and NEVER intervened or even spoke to us knowing we weren't pleased. We were then notified when we wanted to order another round of drinks that the bar closes at 10:25 and the restaurant closes at 11pm. Sangria needs to update their Google info page and get a new Manager! I have never felt insulted patronizing this establishment until tonight. Our waiter Frankie was the lifesaver. read more

Surprise visit to this restaurant for a wedding anniversary. Arrived at 6pm on a Friday evening there was a nice crowd the bar was packed. The place is a bit small the tables a little too cramped. Service was great we were seated immediately served appetizers and drinks within 15 minutes of being seated. The food was delish and the sangrias are "on point" started with the sangria sampler a flight of sangrias moved on to a carafe of coconut sangria (my favorite) definitely going back without kids for an evening at the bar! This is a good place to come for dinner and drinks, HOWEVER, 20% tips are automatically added to your bill and to make matters worse, they ask for additional gratuity upon settling your bill. My food was great, I enjoyed everything. The meat was so tender and juicy omggg! They did that thang and it was properly seasoned! My only con was that the meat balls on the appetizer menu were really tough to chew though. It was like they were frozen then not properly thawed. The yucca balls ( idk what it is called but it was stuffed with chicken and cheese and yucca) were good but left more to be desired. I wonder what it would taste like if the yucca had a bit of seasoning because it tasted kind of plain aside from the chipotle mayo sauce on the side. Yummy. I've been here many times for dinner and always had a good time and good food. I went for brunch recently and I will NEVER do that again. To spend $400 in a place and receive poor service is unheard of. No one at the table received hot food I sent my god back due to my waffles being hard as a rock and not being fresh. I received a new order but still was not happy (Hint to the chef add some vanilla to the batter). We had 2hrs of bottomless mimosa/sangria but our server never came to check on the table to refill. The guys that brought the food out however did refill all of our glasses. This just wasn't a good experience and my friends and myself aren't sure if we will be going back. We were told that happy hour drinks are only inside at the bar or the high tables. The waitress was pleasant and nice enough to speak with the manager but we were told that the manager also confirmed. Never heard of this before but ok! Reluctantly we moved inside. Update about this place. Is a new cook and a few things were removed from the menu. I love to always start off with having arepas as appetizer and a drink Moscow mule. The last time I had arepas was in march 2023. I decided to go again on 5/13/23 to enjoy some drinks and food outside (arepas) since the weather was really nice. I sensed something different with the service the moment we were sat and i opened the menu book. Hubby and I were sat pretty quick but waited like 20 minutes or so for a waiter to get water and order our first drink with an appetizer. When I asked for the arepas because I noticed they weren't on the menu. The waiter didn't know what excuse to say when I asked why, but to say I don't know we have a new cook now. So, I got the ceviche pretty good not bad at all and hubby got the pulpo a la parrilla. We had to ask for napkins, waiter barely come through asking if everything was ok or if we needed anything. We only had to drinks the appetizer and I got the picadera to go, hubby didn't get nothing else That was a really disappointment for me because I only come here just to eat my arepas :( besides the main course. Now I have to go too queens just to eat them lol. I experienced very poor service and very disappointed with the removal of arepas from the menu, lost a customer and I hate I gotta give it a star just to summit my review WELP!. read more

I visited today with my sister and niece for a pre Mother's Day brunch. The customer service was personable. The staff engaged with customers to create a "home" atmosphere. I had the Sangria Omelet which was over cooked but seasoned well. For an appetizer I had the fruit salad with yogurt and granola. Of course I had mimosas strawberry in fact.
