Avoid this place! It gave me food poisoning! I had the Chicken Undon noodle soup and their Miso soup. The chicken looked like crap! Later that night my bowels shutdown and I barfed my guts out, it was red with dried seaweed from the undon noodle. I have already reported them to the San Francisco department of health and I will warn its patrons when I fly back into sfo. If you realize where you are and understand what comes with eating refrigerated sushi, it's not so bad. TLDR: Surprisingly good for airport food. I didn't really plan on getting dinner t the airport ecause its generally overpriced. But my light got delayed by two hours nd I was starting to get hungry. I stopped by here because it was the first thing in the international terminal that didn't seem overly greasy and gross. I wasnt entirely sure about it at first because it wasn't really a full blown restaurant like some of the other places I saw nearby. It looked kind of like a convenience store/lounge area where you pick up premade food and go. The line was kind of long because you had to sign and pay right after you order. I got the tempura udon and salmon nigiri and was told to wait just off to the side. They were able to bring the food out really quickly so I didn't have to wait long. I was a little unsure because it all came in plastic containers but it was surprisingly good. The salmon tasted as good as any average sushi restaurant and I've definitely had worse udon before. A lot of the udon I've had lately has been pretty plain, but they topped it with wakame and scallions which was a nice touvh. The total came out to be $20 including tax and tip which is pretty standard for japanese food. At first I thought there wasn't much udon, but the bowl was deceptively big. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The quality and price were pretty standard which was a lot more than I woild expect for a rando restaurant at the airport. I would definitely go back if im stuck at this terminal again. read more

Good udon! I was at the airport last week and ordered my fav - tempura udon. I noticed the worker handling the noodling wasn't wearing gloves. She opened a plastic bag containing the noodles with her bare hands and put it in the soup. I told the cashier and she told the worker to wear gloves. Against my better judgement - I let it go. I happened to be at the airport the very next day (I'm crew) - and same thing - another worker handling the order wasn't wearing gloves. This is not acceptable in this time of corona! Best airport food. It's not fine dining, and there aren't a lot of choices, but what there is, is good. I used to look forward to flights through SFO so I could go get some soba here. It's as good as at any restaurant except the very best (it's not handmade on premises or anything...). I don't eat soba anymore due to gluten allergies (unless it's 100% buckwheat in wheat free broth), but the sushi here is just as good. It's fresh and the rice is soft. I can't comment on the non vegetarian options, but the cucumber avocado was good. (and I have high standards having grown up eating fresh sushi) The food place to the left sells fresh orange juice. Orange juice + sushi is something I would be happy to eat regardless of being in an airport, so I give Sankaku 5 stars for making me forget I'm stuck in an airport. read more

I purposely arrive at SFO early so I know I can get my bowl of Udon here before I head through security at the Southwest and U.S. Air terminals. For about $12 I get a bowl of yummy Teriyaki Udon and even pay $3.00 for a bag of the rice crackers I love so much. Their food far beats that found at Tomozaku, the other Japanese cuisine found in the Untied terminal. The chicken is always cooked very well, plenty of seaweed in the soup and 2 slices of Kamaboko, that yummy Japanese fish cake. But, the best part of my meal is when the snot is pouring out of my nose because of this fantastic invention: Yagenbori Nakajima Shoten (Shichimi Togarashi--Seven Flavor Hot Pepper) Oh yeah.. pour it all over my udon, please. And, I can even wash it down with some Sake because they serve Nigori sake there, too. read more

Chicken Curry Udon for brunch $10 was a bit steap in price, but it's the airport and I didn't feel like eating McDs at 10am. Was quickly prepared and was really one of the best airport foods I've ever eaten. They do have sushi premade and made to order, but I still have issues about fresh sushi and wasn't feeling that adventurous to risk being on a 4 hr flight with stomach issues. It was a pleasant surprise to run into this eaterie at SFO. The food is fresh and reasonable for airport offerings. During my recent visit I grabbed a couple sushi rolls to go. I had the Eskimo and San Francisco rolls, both had a nice balance ratio between rice and meat. The fish was fresh: tuna and smoked salmon. I requested and received extra wasabi and ginger. This place is awful. You get your food pretty fast but it isn't good. I ordered a chicken teriyaki rice bowl and the chicken looked and tasted like it was six months old. No white meat all dark meat. I was given chop sticks and asked for a fork. She took the chopsticks out of my hands and then gave me a fork... big No No with COVID going on. Found this place next to my gate so I've decided to grab a bite. There's a ready to go sushi boxes and drinks and snack at the front. They also have a menu that is easy to read and short. They serve ramen noodle soups and some rice bowls with your choice of proteins. It was good bc of the hunger but I don't think it's worth the price. I also happen to understand the workers speaking Burmese and for some reason I thought they were Chinese but they weren't. They would never have guessed my nationality but hey it's a good thing sometimes bc I know they weren't talking about me and me being indecisive about what to eat lol read more

I'm so glad I chose this Japanese restaurant over another one within the same terminal (had more limited options). I ordered tempura soba soup, and I requested the soup served "dry." In Asian culture, this means that the broth is served separate from the noodles. I prefer this method because then I can control the amount of soup with the noodles; sometimes I like to sip the broth by itself. I was impressed that I didn't have to explain myself when I requested the soup "dry," as Americanized Asian restaurants don't know what this means. The food was outstanding. The broth really reminded me of Japan. The soba was delicious, and the shrimp tempura was cooked just right so that I could also eat the tail (best part of the shrimp in my opinion - love the crunchiness). If I am ever in SFO again, I will come here. I now know in the future to give myself extra time just to explore all the restaurants! read more

I overheard somebody at the the airport talking about a Japanese restaurant in SFO that made their own soba and I started getting hungry on the way there. They had pre-made sushi and rolls, which I usually don't order, since they tend to be dry. So I ordered the salmon and yellowtail nigiri which was not pre-packaged - it was very fresh. First off, I already know who in their crazy mind eats Sushi at an airport. Well, I did because I had a strong craving for some spicy tuna roll. The rolls are pretty much pre made and displayed in this giant display fridge but the fridge isn't cold enough. I manage to find a sushi platter placed closer to the inside of the fridge. Second that airport price. Seriously $12 for 5 small pieces of rolls. Might as well charge me more and give someone an appropriate portion.
