You can NEVER believe 5 star reviews because today I had a one star experience ordering from here!! The reviews seemed promising but you just can't trust Yelp reviews. Most of them are fabricated from the owner's family/friends. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich w/ the marinara sauce on the side and fries. First thing I notice is my food didn't arrive in a hot sleeve. The fries were disgusting (not fresh at all) and inedible. I asked for no salt so what did they do?...recooked fries prepared earlier. It's obvious to me because I worked in restaurants. My sandwich looks like someone scraped off the marinara sauce. The sauce is supposed to be on the side. Instead of remaking it, they just scrape off the sauce!! WHY would the owner allow my food to be sent out like this??!! SO LAZY!! WTH?! ‍ Additionally the portions are small for the money. I paid $18 for this slop!!!! I call Santina to tell her about the issues with my order and her response to me was: "I knew this was going to happen, you sounded irritated from the beginning" - I had no reason to be irritated, so I don't know why she would say that to me. Deflection is what I concluded. WHAT kind of disrespectful comment is that to a new customer or anyone for that matter?! My perception is that her comment to me is actually her telling on her self and the reason she anticipated a problem is because there's ALWAYS problems. I should've been more observant and taken a hint from her disgruntled tone when I initially called in. I'm a new customer and I had a few questions about her menu, delivery, etc... that's what SHE became irritated about. To say such a comment to me and make it seem like I am the problem, is seriously mental!! Being combative and deflecting her frustrations and irritation on me is unwarranted!! And it gets worse, she starts arguing with me! I was polite the entire time. She sounds miserable!!!! Not even an apology from her. She was frustrated from the very first time I called in and I should have taken that as a hint not to order from here but for her to make it seem like I am the problem is absurd behavior!!!! Save yourself the aggravation. There are much better places to order from and I should've stuck to the places I know and trust. The owner is clearly miserable and projects her misery/frustrations on her customers. I am not the one who messed up the order!! When I called in I was polite and communicated the issues with my order respectfully. Take accountability and stop with the bad attitude and combativeness when you make mistakes!! Ultimately, it's just okay with too much flop, a little grease, and not the best cheese in my opinion. Best pizza in Summerlin imo. Chicken wings are a little pricey but delicious and end up in our order every time. Meatballs are delicious and the spaghetti was tasty and fresh. Ordered to go from them several times and only once was the order delayed 15-20min past expected time. However my son always runs in to get our order and he says the place looks cool inside and the service is friendly. If it weren't for my grandma who was married to my papa, an Italian for 56years, I don't know if I would've found Santina's! And wow, a MUST-GO. My entire family is vegan. Their options here of the gluten free pizza, appetizers, caesar salad with lots of side Parmesan in a jar to sprinkle on, oh my! They messed up my order over the years only a handful of times but always kindly make up for the inconvenience if so. Meatless Mondays are epic savings by the way! I got the veggie pizza, they were happy to sub banana peppers instead of bell peppers at no charge. My boyfriend got the supreme. We were both very satisfied! Great friendly service as well. The service is amazing too. The owners and everyone that works there is exceptional. Very very nice folks, that work hard - and we appreciate them all! I was in the neighborhood and saw this place in a plaza. One quick Yelp search and I had to stop by. Let me tell you stepping in this place took me to NY. The decor and cozy feel and let me tell you how wonderful it smells in there! The service was great not only to me but the patrons that were seated there as well. As they pull out the food out the back and served the tables the smell of each dish, smelled of fresh aromatics. I knew this place was the real deal. The smells of the kitchen lingered throughout the dining area, I soon regretted just grabbing a pizza. I was missing out. This is my local, go-to NY style pizza place and we always get a great meal and great service here. The place is decorated with lots of art and pictures which makes it super cute. I only wish it was a bigger, more of a sit down type of place. There are a few tables inside and a few outside as well, but it's definitely a tight squeeze. The delivery service was great and on time. For a meat lovers Pizza I was not impressed. The sauce was bitter. The meatballs didn't taste like meatballs. Not sure where the sausage was. I didn't taste any. I added green olives but I guess I shouldn't have, because the sauce was bitter so the green olives made the pizza tart. Maybe some people like a tart Pizza. I just stumbled into Santina's NY Pizzeria today, for the first time. My morning started out with a dose of apathy and I felt like a potato--the usual Sunday morning vibes after not enough sleep the evening before. Truthfully, this pizzeria was my only motivation for even crawling out of bed today. But I didn't come in here for just any type of pizza...I came for a supreme pizza with vegan cheese. Before you roll your eyes at me, I'll mention I LOVE CHEESE but my body (and lactose intolerance) does not. I called ahead to confirm they did still offer vegan cheese--I declined to go with the vegan supreme which also offers a completely vegan meats and cheese option--and drove over to pick up my 18" pie. My pie was approx $32-34 after tax and before tip, which was a bit more than I was hoping to pay but is also reasonable nowadays honestly. As soon as I had my first bite though...I HAD ZERO REGRETS ABOUT COST. The fresh tomato sauce, OH MY GOD...I wanted to cry (seriously, but I'm also a few days away from that time of the month soooo...) And the thin-sliced veggies that stuffed into my face nicely...I want to keep stuffing them into my face. AND THE CRUST...amazing. Hands down the BEST pizza I have had in this city. The staff was wonderful too. I was able to meet one of the owners and she was very pleasant to speak with--she even came by and asked how my pie was. (She caught me with pizza sauce on my face, but that's my fault of course...) I'm going to return to my pizza now and finish off a 3rd slice but hopefully this review tells you everything you need to know, regardless if you're a New York transplant, pizza aficionado, or apathy-filled millennial needing a reason to crawl out of bed on a Sunday. Another disappointing small neighborhood restaurant that I regret giving a chance. Came here for lunch this past Monday. The last time I was at this location was when it used to be Joey's so I was eager to try Santina's. The Tomato Basil soup was good but was not served hot. The Vegan Meatball Parmesan was just ok. I requested broccoli instead of pasta and that was the worst part of the plate because the broccoli was overcooked and mushy. I brought this to the attention of our server and she offered to make it right but I had declined and was fine with not being charged the extra $2 for a side order of broccoli I couldn't eat. My friend ordered the Baked Ziti with meatballs and that was a better choice. The best thing about this visit to Santina's was actually our lively, friendly and attentive server Andrea. She tried her best to take care of us. Unfortunately, the owner came out but ignored our table. He stopped to chat with next table and also to personally take care of another regular customer who had come in with a complaint but did not bother to approach our table to apologize or to just greet new customers. This would have made a huge difference to our dining experience. Really wanted to like and support a local community restaurant but when they don't make us feel appreciated, well, it doesn't make us feel like supporting them. read more
