Pear salad was a must. So tired of Cesar salad on all menus.

Alot of Italians live in Florida so I wanted to try Italian food in this city. Ordered the lasagna, mushroom ravioli, pear salad and chocolate cake. The cake tastes and looks pre-made. Off putting after taste. The lasagna was good and the ricotta was creamy. I thought it missed a little salt. My order was the ravioli. I enjoyed them however I felt they could have had a little extra flavor to the browned butter sauce. The pear salad excellent.

We had such a great experience at Sapido in Fort Lauderdale! The service was truly exceptional. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to help with anything I needed. You can tell they take pride in making sure guests feel welcomed and taken care of. We were treated very well. The pizza was really good, fresh, flavorful, and made just right. Our server recommended the pistachio dessert, and I'm so glad they did, because it was absolutely delicious. Creamy, rich, and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. If you're looking for a spot with great food, standout service, and staff who go the extra mile with thoughtful recommendations, it is definitely worth a visit.

I know people hate when this is said, but this is absolutely a hidden gem. The restaurant is super cute and small only has about five tables with some outdoor seating. The food is very very authentic. I love that the carbonara didn't have cream in it -done correctly. The meatballs tasted like an Italian grandmother was making them in the back. The lasagna was super cheesy and delicious. The tiramisu was spectacular. You must try this spot. The service was fantastic. A lovely lady from Italy guided us through the menu. Killer wine too

Date night as a family with a friend at Sapido in Ft Lauderdale FL. We were seated very quickly which was surprising considering how small this restaurant is. The decore was simple and cute. We started off sharing the Taglieri Misto board. It's a charcuterie board what was beautifully packed and had a lot of verity. For entrees, Rita had the Ravioli Ricotta & Spinach. I had the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara. Our friend had the Pizza Margherita. The little one grazed off of everyone's dish while she enjoyed a side of broccoli to herself. We all left full and happy.

This is a small, authentic Italian spot with a cozy, local feel. I've ordered takeout from here a few times, and their personal-sized pizzas are always a solid choice perfect if you live nearby and want something quick and tasty. Dined in recently and tried the lobster ravioli, which was definitely the highlight of the meal--rich, flavorful, and cooked well. One thing that threw me off was the pasta being served in the pot it was cooked in. While it might be part of the rustic charm, it wasn't quite what I expected from a sit-down experience. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood restaurant. I'd stick to takeout for pizza, but it's worth trying if you're in the area. This is a small, authentic Italian spot with a cozy, local feel. This was top notch Italian food, moving down here from NYC, this restaurant greatly exceeded my expectations. Extremely flavorful and very excited to try other items next time.

Still our fave Italian spot - amazing quality food, friendly service and neighborhood vibes.

I cajoled two friends to join me for dinner at Sapido. It was our first visit to this Italian bistro. The place is very small inside. Luckily they do have a few tables outside. They identify as a market and a restaurant but I found the inventory to be too small to even be noticeable. The place is popular as a casual dinner place for Victoria Park residents. Sadly, our experience was disappointing. Most everything was delivered lukewarm- meatballs, ravioli, margherita pizza. Only the veggie pizza was pipping hot. The meatballs were tiny, golf ball sized. They had a chewy texture that was weird. The $12 wine pour was skimpy. The ravioli entree ($27) was small with only 5 pieces and the sauce was like a room temperature tomato soup. Street parking can be difficult here. I was embarrassed in front of my friends. The bill was very high for what you get.

Truffle Pasta

Sapido is a little hole in the wall Italian Restaurant right off of Las Olas. It's a cute and intimate spot, perfect for a date night. We got the truffle pasta and carbonara, it was to die for!

Great spot for Italian food downtown Fort Lauderdale. The dining room is small so be sure to make a reservation. We opted to sit outside which was lovely. It was dark but they had umbrellas which I imagine would be nice on the sunny days. We ordered wine, spaghetti carbonara, ragu, and the tiramisu to finish. The carbonara and tiramisu were amazing. The ragu was okay- could be more flavorful. Overall I will return. It's a great addition to the city.

We found this little Italian eatery in the midst of an Italian food craving. It was highly ranked and people raved over its food. We walked into a smallish dining room where one of the chefs was making pasta on the table by hand. It was quite amazing to see. An entire wall was filled with wine. We were greeted immediately and sat at a wooden table with a pizza rack built in. I ordered a veggie pizza and my daughter ordered the gnocchi with pesto. A small basket of bread was provided. The food came out promptly. The pizza was incredibly delicious and made to my custom order. There was olive oil on the table and I used it to dip the crust. My daughter cleaned her plate. She said it was one of the best gnocchi she's had. Even though the dining room was small, I would highly recommend a visit. The food is amazing, service was excellent and the ambiance was quaint.

Gnocchi al Pesto

Came here Saturday night, highly recommend making a reservation on the weekends because the restaurant has limited seating and gets filled! Started off with the bruschetta rustica tricolore which was delicious. For entrees we got the gnocchi al pesto and spaghetti al pomodoro. Although the gnocchi wasn't horrible, the pomodoro was better in my opinion! Both good options though. Finished off with tiramisu with was split between 4 people and was enough. Very spongey and tasty! Our server was very sweet and handled us with lots of care even though it was very busy. It felt like I stepped into Italy while there because they were also playing Italian music. Will definitely be going back!

The ambiance of the place is lovely, decorated with string lighting that looks so gorgeous at night. The patio area is much bigger than I anticipated and even has some larger tables for any larger parties. We started off with an appetizer of the peach burrata, which was tasty! I would give it 4/5. We then got wine flights which I thought were such a great value for the price. You get 3 small sized wine glasses for $15 and get to sample three wines! Definitely recommend this 5/5. As entrees, we shared two entrees - the pesto pasta and the gnocchi which at the time was made with a pork type of sauce. Both were very delicious and we really enjoyed the flavors of both. The consistency of the gnocchi's sauce was a bit interesting, as it was all sort of blended together, but the flavor was very good! Would give them each 4/5. We ended the night with tiramisu - delicious and the presentation was very cute. I haven't had very much tiramisu to compare against, but I'll give it 5/5 as I really enjoyed it! As for service, our waitress was very attentive and nice but note that they can get busy on weekend evenings, so expect a little bit of a wait. Overall, I had a great time and enjoyed the food. My favorite part of the night were the ambiance and the wine flights. I hope to come back again soon!

Sidecar Speakeasy was the play... The speakeasy entrance was hidden in a hallway you can walk right by without even noticing. I dig it. Once inside, it's dark. Most of the light is coming from the light showcasing the bottles in the bar. The seating is a little tight as they're trying to maximize space for such a small area. We visited here twice during my visit: We sat at a table and a bar. You have the perfect amount of space for your party, but you're pretty close to the next table or bar seat. No claustrophobic vibes though. All the mixologists were great during both visits. One visit, we ordered their signature cocktails from the menu. When we sat at the bar, we had the mixologist surprise with a cocktail off the menu. He just asked what kind of liquor vibe we wanted, and he took it from there. He was super creative with every cocktail which made for a great time. They stayed upon until midnight one one visit and until 1 am on the other one. Both my visits were on a weekday. The sidecar speakeasy is easily my favorite bar in Fort Lauderdale and I have a feeling I'll be back. Enjoy!

I finally got the chance to check them out one afternoon when I was in the area. Brewlihan Mead is a 1,700-square-foot mead house and tasting room owned by John and Stacey Hoolihan. John had a background in science education and started out brewing as a hobby. What turned into a passion became a business. Brewlihan Mead is the first commercial meadery in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Mead, sometimes called honey wine is an alcoholic beverage made from three ingredients: fermented honey, water and yeast. It is the first alcoholic beverage consumed by mankind and is believed to predate wine by nearly three thousand years. Since the taste of honey can vary by region, mead can have a diverse and complex flavor profile. To make the mead at Brewlihan, the water, yeast and honey is placed in fermentation tanks with fruit and then aged in oak barrels for 2 to 5 months. You can take your mead to go in cans or they have a nice bar inside the tap room where you can enjoy your drink. I took my mead home and while I enjoyed all of it, my favorite was Winter in So Fla which truly evoked the tropical feel of a winter in Florida. Mead is a great alone or as a pairing to a meal. If you are a mead enthusiast they have memberships for $300 with a host of benefits listed on their website.
