I am extremely disappointed in this place. Every time I used to pass through Albany, I would get a cheese steak calzone with double meat. The Calzone was always full of meat and cooked to perfection. It was the best calzone I had ever gotten...and I travel a lot and get calzones in just about every town I go. Well on Friday night I ordered a calzone with double meat and what I got was a glob of cheese. I was very clear with the person who took the phone order. There was practically no meat. wanting the calzone I had always gotten before, I went in person to the store and told them what a disappointment the previous night was and ordered another calzone with double meat. I have not ordered food from this place in a while and I will not be ordering again. I ordered a large antipasta salad with dressing on the side, expecting to be able to take some for lunch. The salad that was delivered was in a small 6 inch round to go container and saturated with dressing. This salad barely fed one person for one meal, having leftovers was not an option both because the salad was small and did not contain all of the items advertised but was so saturated with dressing that it would not have been edible the following day. The photo on the webside indicated a substantial amount of meat and cheese rolled and placed on top of the salad however what I received was a small amount of meat and cheese chopped into small pieces and tossed into the salad. The other item I ordered was arancini which was listed on the menu as "rice balls". This gave the impression that I would receive more than one. For the price of $6.00 I received only one. They also do not deliver, but use mealeo and charge for the service. read more

I am ready to leave the Capital region and seeing how my flight is stuck right after the lunch hour, I figure it's best to get lunch outside the airport. I'm sure my kid cousins think McDs at the airport is great for lunch... my stomach disagrees. So seeing how NY state is known for great pizza, I figure I'll try it out here. Yelp brought up Little Anthony's and Sara Bella as good option near the airport. I figure I'd try it here since it had great reviews plus I like finding local businesses that rock. Plus their site said they had the Cannoli King making their dessert! Similar to my dinner last night at Mr.Wasabi, this is a small restaurant that is hidden in the middle of houses. It's completely buried in a residential area. I found owner charming and helpful. I saw she had at least 6 selections of large pizza sliced ready for the lunch hour. I asked if she had any veggie pizzas but unfortunately they didnt. They did have their white pizza which was no tomato sauce, garlic oil, broccoli, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and diced tomato. I ordered that slice extra crispy, water, and a small cannoli. With a smile and a helpful hand from the owner, I sat down in this quaint place and was ready to eat. The place reminds me of someone's home. It's not big but it's super clean with homey touches. Picture of the owner's family is on the wall and the wood accents reminds me of a country cottage. The pizza slice is pretty big but disappointingly, it was very 'blonde' for a brick oven. Instead of the nice brown crispy crust I'm used to, it was a pale pale beige and soft (even when it's supposedly crispy). The flavour of the pizza in general fell flat even though the I was told it had garlic dotting the slice. The occasional garlic piece did make it tasty but I think the slice had too little of it. In general, the pizza just tasted like white wonderbread. The small cannoli was pretty disappointing as well. Filled to the brim with ricotta cheese and chocolate chips on the ends, I took a bite hoping for a great nice crunch and tasty filling. It was spongey soft... the texture was pretty awful sadly. Clearly the cannoli was old. That or the Cannoli King is dead and someone else is making the cannoli. The ricotta itself was loaded in sugar so it had a pure sugary taste. Overall, the meal was less than my large cappucino this morning so it's a great deal but a great deal on not great tasting items. I should have gone to Little Anthony's instead. A few months ago, I tried Sara Bella pizza for the first time while at a friend's party. The Margherita pizza and Bianca pizza were my all time favorites. The Margherita pizza was perfectly crisp and had ample slices of high quality fresh mozzarella on top. The plum tomatoes were sweet and juicy. Made to perfection! The Bianca pizza had the perfect amount of mozzarella and smooth riciotta cheese on top. I am formerly from NYC and have a keen taste for high quality pizza. Sara Bella is right up there with the best! So hard to find that in the Captital District. Definitely stumbled upon a gem! Since my first experience with Sara Bella, I have visited their Colonie location on several occasions while out shopping in Colonie. I just recently tried their pizza wheels...DELICIOUS!!! Definitely adding that to my long list of favorites! While visiting the Colonie location, I discovered that there is a 2nd location in Malta....perfect for me, as I live 10 minutes away. Since then, I have ordered from Malta numerous times. Just as yummy as Colonie! I would highly recommend! Cleanliness is a huge factor when ordering out. Both locations are impeccably kept....Sara Bella of Colonie is decorated adorably and definitely has the feeling of authentic Italian cooking. I really really enjoy Sara Bella's pizza. The crust is thicker than most around here, which I enjoy but see why others may not. Good sauce to cheese ratio. Their garlic knots are AMAZING! My favorite in the area! I like that Sara Bella doesn't charge extra for sauce (I'm looking at you, Paesans). The only other thing that I've had from here is the peanut butter cup cookie and, well, you really can't go wrong with a cookie that has an entire Reeses cup on it. It was really good! Only 4 stars because more often than not, the customer service leaves something to be desired. One time I walked in to pick up a pizza and the girl at the counter didn't acknowledge me (like purposely avoided eye contact) but carried on with what sounded like a personal conversation on the phone. I work near by and forgot my lunch one day. Ordered a sub and some wings for delivery. Delivery was fast, but the food was mediocre. The bread was dry, the meat was bland, and it was mostly lettuce with not much dressing. Wings were soggy and slathered with sauce, rather than crisply cooked in the sauce. If that's your thing, then I'd say go for it. I just wasn't a huge fan. I've heard good things about their pizza, so I'll head back for that sometime and give it a second chance. read more

I ordered an eggplant sub and a chicken parm sub. I was very disappointed! The eggplant sub was HORRIBLE! I literally thought someone was playing a joke...The first bite tasted like someone had dropped stale bread in the sink and it got wet then they scooped it up and served it on a roll and melted mozzerella cheese! I am not being dramatic and literally it tasted like mushy cold breading and there was no trace of eggplant in this sandwich. The chicken parm was more edible but I would not be proud to serve it to anyone. I will say that the first time I went to SaraBella I tried their pizza and it was fabulous! I guess because the pizza was so good I assumed they served other high quality food..I was wrong. 4 stars for pizza and 0 for subs= the low rating. Came here on business trip and enjoyed the Margarita pizza. A colleague got the Works pizza and enjoyed his too. I liked the crust texture. You're able to hold the whole piece of pizza without the middle drooping limp on you. It is not real thick though...just slightly thicker than NY style. My one critique would be that the crust could use a little more flavor. I didn't see any desserts there which was odd since the word 'dessert' is in their name. I really tried to like Sara Bella because of the good reviews, but each time I ordered from there I was left disappointed. Tonight I ordered 10 wings medium & a chicken parm dinner. The wings were undercooked & had practically no crisp. The medium sauce they were tossed in had no flavor, no level of spice, & was mostly grease. It was like eating wings tossed in grease. I've had much better wings from pizza establishments in Colonie (that charge less). The chicken parm dinner was essentially 3 chicken tenderloins, over ziti. It did come with bread & salad which was nice. But for the price I expected more chicken. Like I said, there's other pizza places in Colonie that give you enough to feed 2 people for the same price. Horrible experience. It was our second time ordering from SaraBella and the first time was decent. This time we ordered a large 8-cut veggie pizza online through their website and with tax and delivery it came to $27 which is outrageous IMO but we were hungry so whatever. Delivery time said 45 minutes on their website. After an hour I called just to make sure they received the order, I get nervous with online ordering, but it's easier when paying with a credit card. The guy who answered was nice but he was telling me that since I ordered through Grubhub they can't guarantee delivery times but assured me it would be out the door in 10-12 minutes. I told him I ordered on his website and it said 45 minutes, to which he then checked and apologized and said I would get my pizza soon. Well, another hour later (we were hangry by this point) the pizza came. I opened the box and immediately was disappointed. It was LOADED with cheese and barely any veggies! There were black olives but not much else. The pizza tasted okay but too cheesy and I was overall just upset about the 2 hour wait, the price, and the absence of veggies. My fiancé was really mad and didn't even want to eat it at that point. We will not be ordering from there again. read more

Management needs to consider the comfort of their patrons as well as the quality of their food. We ordered from the new location in Troy/North Greenbush tonight and it was out of this world! We have never tried Sara Bella pizza before but have heard great things about it for years. We placed our order over the phone for pick-up and spoke to the nicest women! We received friendly service from HAPPY employees! Imagine that! The order was accurate, fresh, hot and DELICIOUS! And the celery was CRUNCHY!! Unheard of!! The specials are a great deal for a family meal. We picked up a cheese pizza and a half pound of BBQ and half pound of mild boneless wings and the sauces taste homemade. The wings were not soggy and the pizza was so flavorful. We tried the Dominic's Specialty and there was a generous amount of tomatoes and ricotta-both fresh. The pizzas are good sized and the price was reasonable. My husband forgot the soda and they had no problem offering to replace it. They even called back to let me know they entered it into their system! The superior Customer Service continued even after the purchase! They seem to run a business the way businesses used to be run-with care for the quality of their products and for their customers! The Wynantskill/North Greenbush area has been in desperate need for more good pizza places! The time has come people! After 30+ years we have a winner! Keep up the good work guys! read more

This is my second time ordering from this place at work. The first time I ordered a chicken parm hero, it was one of the best I have ever eaten. They make their own bread which is makes it even better. The chicken was perfectly cooked and they didn't kill it with sauce or cheese like other places do. Perfect amount of sauce and cheese . The only problem I had was I didn't order a 12' because I could have plowed another half easy. The second time that I ordered my coworkers wanted pizza. So we order 1, 12cut cheese and 1, 12 cut sausage and mushroom. Unfortunately I wanted to order a 4 cut Brooklyn pie, for myself, which is tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese pizza. But they don't make 4 cuts the smallest pizza they can make is a 6 cut. So as I was talking to the owner on the phone he said that he would make a "in-house pie" for him to sell at the shop and he would make half of his in house pie Brooklyn style for me! SCORE! What a nice guy. I would order from this place again in a heart beat, all the food is fresh and 100% authentic! I ordered its "brick oven specialty pizza" but it was nothing like brick oven made pizza. It looks and tastes just like thick frozen pizza bread heated by the microwave. The spicy chicken topping taste so plain, no flavor, nothing close to spicy. Most of the "specialty" pizza contain two or three ingredients, i.e. tomato paste + cheese, chicken + cheese, etc. Nothing looks like it has any "specialty". Very disappointed. Price Chopper's store made pizza taste better, has more toppings, and only half of its price. The pity "bakery" and "desserts" it advertised for, looks not fresh, less than home made quality. Another disappointment. One extra point gives to its pleasant and polite cashier. The business is very slow... no other customer other than me in the store around dinner time. The most gross thing i found while i was waiting - a pizza maker came out the restroom zipping up his pants while he was heading to the kitchen. I am from Utica and was spoiled on amazing pizza and Italian food. So to find this place after 17 years of living in the Albany region, it was a very nice surprise. I have to say it is probably the best pizza I have had in Albany area since I left Utica. I will patron this place many times, and hopefully my followup experiences will be as good as my first. A couple weeks ago we were given the recommendation from a local car dealership to try out SaraBella Pizza. Man we were SO impressed. From the time we walked into the door, Andrew treated us with so much respect and kindness. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time so he continued to carry a very pleasant conversation with us throughout our meal. He was very professional and funny and made our night go very smoothly. The pizza was absolutely AMAZING. It was also very quick to come when we placed our order and there isn't a single complaint about our experience. Was pretty impressed with the food from here. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and it had a nice thin crust like I like and awesome cheese. Also got the chicken garlic parm wings which needed a bit more parm for my taste but they were good. The best part was that you could get some dessert.
