Sarah's in one of my favorite places to go in Eureka. Their menu is great, and their desserts are amazing!

My friend and I were walking in downtown Eureka exploring the shops. It was hot and we were carrying our refillable water bottles. We decided to stop in for lunch at Sarah's. They told us we had to take our water bottles out of the store and then come back in, in order to be served. I am still scratching my head at this nonsense. My wife always wants me to run in on like a Sunday morning/afternoon and get her a breakfast sandwich. They're fast, nice, and attentive. Typically I'll wait no more than a few minutes when they're busy but multiple employees will check in on me during that time. I love avocado toast and was very excited to see it on the breakfast menu. When I got the toast it was probably the most unappealing looking avocado toast I have ever seen. The avocado was a grayish color and was a paste-like consistency. I tend to prefer chunky avocado toast. If you go here get your stuff to go. Absolute worst service and poorly run restaurant I have been to in a long time. We ordered at the counter, sat down, and then waited 25 min for the FIRST of three items to come out. 7 min later I go to the front to ask what is going on and they said they have a full house, as if to excuse their disorganization, and will look into it. It's Mother's Day AND they advertised a special menu by the way so it's not like they didn't know what was coming. After another 5 min they came to tell me that there was another person who ordered the same thing I ordered and he got my food and that mine would be coming soon. At this point we just asked for our money back and left. FYI the mix up explains my order but my wife ordered something completely different so it did not explain why her food was never served. Shame that our Mothers Day breakfast was ruined by this s*** show of a "restaurant" Just a tip to Sarah's. Go Google how to run a restaurant and get your stuff together. Attempted to order online which seemed like a convenient system. Arrived at the scheduled pickup time and no one had even started the order or noticed the ticket. Five minutes later found out some of the items on my order were not available. At that point I asked to refund the order which they were unable to process. I suppose we'll see if the refund goes through after the owner processes it as promised or if I have to dispute the charge. I'm not holding my breath. read more

Enjoyed Taco Thursday at Sarah's today. My dad lives in Eureka and had been before, but this was my first visit. Ambience, service, food quality, and prices were all exceptional. Not sure why they don't offer tacos for lunch every day, but it seems they're only available for lunch on Thursdays. Definitely worth stopping in when you're in town. My coworkers and I love coming here for lunch but we were there recently and I got a black bean burger with a side salad and an iced tea and it was $20. That is very high for a lunch in my opinion. the food was good but we had issues with the manager. Our waitress was really sweet but she forgot to put my mother in laws order in and it was 20 minutes late. It already took us an hour to get our food when it wasn't that busy. My chips were stale and by the time we got our food it was cold. We asked if her meal could be taken off and they gave us trouble. My mother and I went into the bakery yesterday and the workers were extremely sweet and friendly ... but we bought a dozen cupcakes and a cookie and were greatly disappointed... A number of problems: line to order was so long, they never informed us that they had switched from breakfast to lunch. The chai was sickeningly sweet, tasted like it came out of a gas station machine. Coffee was weak. Prices were high, for a small town. First impressions is important. My wife and I stopped in for lunch after church and they were out of chocolate cream pie that was a special. Out of potatoes for breakfast, plain chips and the ice dispenser was out of ice. The BLT sandwich was good. While in St. Louis, one food item to try is the Gooey Butter Cake. It's hard to describe. It's kind of custard based, like cheesecake. Sweet but not too much. Perfect with coffee. This place was absolutely amazing. The workers were very pleasant and accommodating. The decor was cute and made you just want to chill with a cup of coffee and relax. They have a wide variety of food and I was not disappointed in any of it! I had the turkey panini with the side of the week which was a tomato and cucumber pasta salad. They had several different desserts and even gluten free options. I tried the macaroons, they are DELICIOUS! Beautifully decorated and had amazing flavor. My boyfriend ate a cinnamon roll and it was the perfect texture crunchy on the outside a bit gooey in the middle and full of cinnamon! They even have a selection of coffees each unique with flavors. Sarahs was very good. We love the downtown Eureka scene especially this time of year with all the fun and creative scarecrows everywhere during the scarecrow festival. All the same delicious baked goods you would expect from Sarahs but a full menu that has sandwiches and salads and I hear a Tapas menu on certain nights as well. read more

Wife and I just got done with dinner at Sarah's, awesome. Great food and cocktails. Never had a disappointing meal there. Awesome staff.

It took 45 minutes to get a basic breakfast. Nobody their working seemed to care as I stood by the cash register at the 30 minutes mark to ask about food and workers just kept walking right by me. During that 45 minute wait we had to ask for our orange juice three times to get it. After the long wait for the food my biscuits and gravy were stone cold, breakfast sandwich was cold, wife's pancakes came out no syrup and had to ask for that twice, and her danish did not come out and had to ask to bring that to us. Lastly it's self service coffee but most of the coffee containers were empty so could not really get a refill though I paid for a "bottomless" cup. For my first visit to Sarah's, it was also my last. On the way out I heard another customer state "why do I have to f$&cking wait 45 minutes just to get a breakfast burrito". Clearly it's not just me having this bad experience. read more
