CHICKEN TERIYAKI
Deborah K.

Sarku is definitely the top choice amongst the other Asian quick-bites at the mall food court. You watch them cook the chicken so your meal arrives piping hot. The service is fairly quick for being freshly made. However the Beef bento did take longer than the chicken teriyaki. Probably because they serve chicken more often. The ambiance is to be expected in a food court.

The line to pick up your food was 10 people deep. Ugh....

As far as mall food goes I just love their chicken teriyaki, gotta have extra sauce. I have never ordered anything else so I can just review the chicken teriyaki and it is great. It is a large portion which should leave you full and satisfied. If you have a bigger appetite then order extra meat and that should do it. I rarely go to malls anymore so I miss my Sarku lunches.

If I'm going to eat in a mall food court this is my go to. I can watch my food being prepared, fresh, the vegetables have a little crunch, the rice is good and the chicken is flavorful. The Teriyaki Chicken is only $7 ish and you cant beat the value. I can never finish it all. They give you the option of noodles and extra teriyaki sauce on request. They offer beef and shrimp and sides also. The best part is that Yum Yum sauce is only .50 extra

Chicken bento box
Brigitte L.

For $9 I got a bento box which had chicken teriyaki, a California roll, salad and dumplings. I chose to sub the rice for veggies. This was perfect!! First time I had the bento box and I can definitely say this will be my go to from now on. I like the variety when eating rather than just the container of veggies with chicken. There was a line when we arrived however they got everyone thru pretty quick. Staff was super friendly. If you need chopsticks or soy sauce just ask!

I actually come here often! The chicken teriyaki and shrimp is always consistent. Customer service is five stars perfect. Overall always highly satisfied to get their to go. This location is inside the mall.

Three similar options in this food court and this one is the only one with a line at 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday. We went at a non prime time and there was still a line. In fact, this was the only food court option that even seemed to have more than one person wanting to grab food from it. I tend to agree with the masses - which is why I use Yelp - and also this is my husband's favorite food court option. It did take longer than normal because they had to keep making more teriyaki chicken for the line of hungry people. But we didn't wait an unreasonable amount of time, and I just made my husband stand in line. He always gets teriyaki chicken with fried rice and a side of lo mein. If I honestly had a choice in the matter, I would probably never choose to eat here. It's kind of a poor imitation of the real thing. However, my husband enjoys it and I don't dislike it enough to not munch on it when he gets it (how's that for a double negative). It might not be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it's fine for what it is. Even though this isn't a rousing endorsement of this business, I wouldn't give it less than three stars because it is always dependable and tastes the same. Also, out of love for my husband I won't give one of his favorite food places low marks. If you are a foodie, I would opt somewhere else, but if you want something cheap, fast, and all in all not unappetizing, this is an ok choice.

Delivery packaging

This was yet another interesting experience to find sushi in Tampa Bay. I started off mildly impressed and found it trailed down with each individual experience I had today. The packaging and pricing was good for delivery, but once I tried the dumplings I found them to be cold and hard on the outside. Unfortunately, the sauce provided did not offer much to help but I got through them okay. The Shrimp Tempura both raised and lowered expectations, it was better than the gyoza and the California roll but still not great as several rolls had broken apart. Usually the tail pieces are the biggest and I found them to be mostly tail (which I never eat but I've heard you can.) The California roll was off putting with weird and unusual textures, and I've had my fair share of them over the years. I'm not sure if something was bad or low quality (like the krab) but I ended up not finishing that roll due to the weird taste and texture. I would not revisit this location, but ultimately I ended up finishing most of what I ordered so clearly it wasn't THAT bad. I'd definitely look at some other locations if you want some good sushi.

It's so hard to find good sushi in Tampa Bay and this place exceeded my expectations! I drove all…read morethe way from downtown St Pete on a IG recommendation (that's how little good options you have in this area unfortunately) and I was not disappointed. The staff and owner were very friendly and personable and the food was even better! I ordered the gyoza (this is fried and the filling is an in-house recipe pork filling, might be different from your regular gyoza but still yummy and worth trying), and had the Nigiri Flight which was amazing! I'll let the picture speak for itself, but you need to come in and try it for yourself. The fish was fresh and each one was better than the other. I even loved the tamago (which they prepare in house) and I normally am not a fan of it. All the nigiri were well sized and super filling, I could have done without the dumplings and the salad, and still would have been more than satisfied. The place is also very well decorated and styled, I truly think they hit all the points with food, service, and ambience. You can tell the owner puts his heart and soul into this place and it shows in the food and your time there. It was a very pleasant experience and I am so happy to have found Isekai!

Fantastic lunch here on a recent visit to Tampa for business…read more As a Los Angeles resident who has spent 1/2 my time in Hawaii for work, I am an acclaimed sushi snob. I was excited by the great reviews on Yelp -- and was so happy that this place lived up to the hype! The fish was excellent -- fresh, well cut, super tasty. The toro was rich and delicious, the salmon and snapper fresh and pure, and as noted by others, the seasoned sushi rice with the accoutrements in the bowl (seaweed salad, thinly sliced pickled radish and carrot, and masago) made for an elevated lunch. I really appreciated the flexibility and options around my celiac disease (sushi can be tough because of the wheat in most soy sauce) -- including the kind note they attached saying the subbed some extra toro and masago for the Iburi which had been marinated in soy sauce. Lastly, I usually much prefer to eat-in for sushi (a sushi bar is my 2nd home), but really appreciate the details they put into the Uber Eats takeout package -- dressed it nice with shiso leaf and shaved radish AND have it all placed on little ice packs to keep the fish cold on their commute from the Chef's Knife to my belly. Great experience overall.

We tried minano ramen, black tonkatsu ramen and chicken karage. I personally like the black tonkatsu ramen, the broth taste more rich garlic flavor. I added chili oil to make it spicy, reallu good. We frequent this restaurant often, I've noticed a high turnover in servers and initially assumed the slow service was due to that. However, during a non-busy lunchtime , with only about five other tables, it took 30 minutes to receive a hibachi chicken plate and a kids' meal. My daughter was not very happy needless to say . That wait time felt excessive and made me question what's happening in the kitchen. I understand it's the holiday season and that waiting is sometimes expected, but a long delay for a 15 table restaurant is disappointing. The server mentioned that 30 minutes is normal for a hibachi chicken plate, which seems a bit long to me. I usually gravitate toward Asian restaurants because service tends to be quicker, so this experience was surprising. For now, I may stick to my usual Vietnamese and Korean go-to spots, but I truly hope this improves because I want to continue supporting this local business. Additionally, the fried banana side that comes with the kids' meal has been consistently inedible. Ten times out of ten, it's extremely greasy, more like biting into a hot grease ball than bananas. It doesn't feel very healthy or even safe for children.

Three solid eaters worked hard to knock Kuchi on its side today - one who runs ten miles a day, another who does recreational weight lifting and yours truly. They also have a section of cooked hibachi and Chinese buffet styled foods. I definitely ate my fill. All of it fresh, tasty and plenty of it. A real delight. I literally got sick after eating... my stomach was tore up. Hibachi super mid, no flavor. Dry. Overcooked proteins. Supposedly there's a new menu coming out this Friday? Then will they be serving the pictures on the wall and on the website? Maybe invite my friend and I back for this "new menu" and I could write a hopefully updated review. Overall, a great place to meet friends for dinner…read more This place gets super crowded during happy hour, and it makes sense because they're happy hour is fantastic. However, be warned that if you come even slightly after happy hour, which is about 7 PM that it may be very hard to find a table. The restaurant is quite large, so it is impressive how busy they are. I don't know when they started doing this, but now you can park on the grass in front of the restaurant so it makes parking a lot easier. You don't have to be worried about finding a parking spot in their lot. I got a Yoshi roll and a salmon skin hand roll. Both were pretty good. I wouldn't say this is the best sushi ever, but it is solid and pretty much the only option in this area. The lychee martini is sweet, so if you like your drink sweet, this is for you. I tried the lavender margarita after, which was delicious and had a good taste of lavender. They were a good combination since I don't think I overly loved either, but I liked both. They do have a huge opening to outside and a large outdoor eating space. So if you're prone to mosquitoes, you may want to spray yourself just in case you end up sitting outside or near the outside area. They also have quite a few TVs and a large bar. Our server was fantastic, she was really nice and efficient. She had a great personality. This is a solid place to grab food and I know I will be back.
