The cost for a teriyaki chicken combo
    Josephine G.

This place is located at the Oaks mall. They were closed for quite sometime but they reopened. Service is fast, chicken teriyaki was good, serving size is just right and it is affordable. This is my go to place when I'm at the mall.

For quick, food court cuisine I don't expect Michelin star rated food. However, Sarku Japan was cheap, fresh, tasty and far exceeded my expectations for food court cuisine. Their claim to fame is the teriyaki chicken bowl, and I will say this was way better than its competitor next door, Panda something? Give it a try!

    Gf ordering dragon roll
    Starman B.

9jul24 Gf ordered dragon roll 2 others ordered bowl Theirs was done first (by grill cooks) 9 mins Sushi Chef finally finished roll ,18mins later, put in plastic plate and left by pikup side (and walked away) 2 grill chefs ignored it like a dead fish.? Gf asked is that #164!? Still stupid look!???? (EVERYONE KNOWS IN RESTAURANT BUSINESS PRESENTATION IS 9 of 10 points!???) I finally jump in and "grill chef" bags it, chopsticks, soy sauce. Ask sushi chef why he didn't present roll!?? Has dumb answers! Ask Mgr (photo) why they dont give order to customer waiting!?? Get stupid look!??? I guess the sushi fairy flies out and presents the food !??? Not like first day of opening day!? Complete FAIL!!!?? (And I was thinking of trying it!???) ill just goto Yoshinoya!! Or CHIPOTLE

$8.99 for rice that filled up the whole bottom and little steamed chopped cabbages and carrots and chicken

Used to be my favorite place to eat. But I can see why this place gets bad review and dwindling down. No one was there. There were 4 man at the front. The cashier asked if I want rice or noodle, extra chicken? Which I said no, and sauces on top of the chicken? I said no. I wonder what makes he asked those questions?? They never asked things like that before. Anyhow. The container has changed. Smaller and shallower styrofoam container. Price up and less food. I took picture of my food and you can see how much ratio of rice , veggies and chicken. Will I come back again? No. Goodbye Sarku Japan.

    Mediocre food

Crappy mall food. Bland, no flavor. Ordered the beef teriyaki of course there was more rice than anything. Barf! Don't know how these places survive in this economy serving this awful food.

Chicken Teriyaki Bento was average. Bearable. I had to eat something decent. Service was blasé.

I've eaten here for many years. And this is what I have to say: Food: The food IS good! I feel like the portions are fairly I usually get the chicken teriyaki combo, with rice and veggies, it definitely fills me up. The noodles are alright, they're very...chewy? Dough-y???? Not sure how to explain it. I got the bento box, and for the price it's good, except the sushi obviously wasn't that great. Customer service: Like everyone else is saying on here, the customer service has always lacked, even from when they first open. They always give their customers a dirty look when they're waiting in line for their food. My consensus is: if you want cheap Asian style cuisine, come here, not panda express (I know this place is Japanese and Panda is Chinese), cause the chicken teriyaki combo deal is basically a panda bowl but with more food of a higher quality

This is what they gave us instead of teriyaki sauce.
    Divina L.

The food is good, but the customer service is bad. Ordered the chicken teriyaki meal for my daughter and when I went back to ask for a side of teriyaki sauce the guy said we can't do that and gave me soy sauce. Is this a restaurant? How can you not have your food the way you want it? She loves eating her rice with teriyaki sauce on top not soy sauce. It wouldn't cost much to give your customer a small side of teriyaki sauce and it shows you value your customer. I was generous with my arar

Nasty Spicy Tuna. Stay away from this place.

Great tasty food with reasonable price. Good quantity. Good service. The restaurant is in mall. You get the food pretty quickly.

My daughter and her friend got very sick here. One had salmon sushi the other had a Californian roll. So it wasn't the fish.

Well, technically it's open yet again. But, it's no near as good it once was. Especially, with cleanness parts some of the food.

Nori Japanese Grill has clearly remained a local favorite and standing the test of time like that deserves a round of applause. I've driven by this spot on Thousand Oaks Boulevard so many times and after running errands one afternoon, I found myself starving and wanting something casual where I could get in and out quickly. The restaurant is super casual, and you order at the counter, but they take care of everything after that. Your food is brought right to your table, and honestly, I love this style of dining. You pay upfront, so once you're finished eating, you can simply head out whenever you're ready. It's perfect for a quick lunch. I was being a basic girl when I came and kept it simple with shrimp tempura and a California roll. The food here is solid, simple, and satisfying. I'm not here to tell you it's "the best sushi I've ever had" but it's just classic Japanese comfort food done well. The shrimp tempura was perfectly crispy and I liked the tempura side sauce for dipping. The california roll was no frills but tasty. For about $25 after tip, I got a drink, a sushi roll, and shrimp tempura, which honestly isn't bad in today's economy. It definitely beats grabbing fast food or eating at the same old boring chain restaurants. If you find yourself in Thousand Oaks looking for a quick, satisfying lunch, stop by and support this longtime local staple. It definitely hit the spot!

I skipped breakfast and by the time I had time to eat it was lunch (1PM) and when I looked at Yelp…read moreto try something new these pictures looked appetizing and got me craving sushi. The establishment is kind of hidden in the corner next to the shell gas station and there is ample parking. As I was walking towards the front, I see a sign stating that they have a happy hour starting at 1 o'clock and it was 1259 so I was very excited to see what this look like especially for it being my first time here. This meant that I get to try a lot of new things and a lot more things. There is about 10 to 15 tables inside with different amounts of seating and since it was just my boyfriend and I and the lady gave us the choice to sit wherever then we chose a table with two seats but, had us move to the next one because she said that the two seat ones were for single people, especially because it was lunchtime. She refused to let us sit at the two person table ‍. We got several menus and a pencil with an ordering paper. She took our drink order and we started to explore the vast menu and it all looked great! (I love when they have pictures on the menu apart from descriptions) After she brought us waters, I asked her if the special menu was considered the happy hour menu and she said it's not happy hour yet and I said yes it is 1 o'clock and she looked at my boyfriends clock on his phone and apologized and brought the happy hour menu. I included the receipt so you can see that 4/5 rolls were happy hour pricing. The sushi chefs were 2 Hispanic men and the reason why I mention this was because I feel like most of my rolls had this "chili powder" that resembled Tajin on my rolls and that's what they called "spicy" half my rolls were supposed to be spicy tuna but the tuna itself was not spicy they just had this Tajin-like powder on top and to me it wasn't spicy at all and I also felt like it made those 2/3 rolls taste bland. My bf loves deep fried rolls so he opted to try the magic mtn and he loved it and I think I enjoyed the spider roll the most. Even the spicy tuna on the crispy rice was just regular tuna with no spice. We still thought it tasted good but we will maybe give it another try with different rolls next time. They have a punch card if you spend $50+ after I think 10 you get a free speciality roll. The chefs gave us a parting remark and we thanked them upon leaving for lunch. Our server was a little more cold but kudos to her for handling the whole restaurant by herself in an efficient manner as our food came out quick and we got water refills and she checked in on us while serving 5/6 other tables all by herself.
