had a random stop at this mall while traveling and headed to the food court for some lunch. got a roll and heads up they take significantly longer to make so you end up waiting longer than customers who order the chicken/beef/etc. plates. the roll was ok but what was a bit frustrating was the end pieces had no salmon in them. frustrating when you pay for a roll with salmon and the end ones don't include it. they should get a bigger piece when making. read more

The food is simple but good, It's cooked fresh in front of you , and it's one of the healthier options in the food court area of this mall! I like the bento box, it's one of the better options and they give you a good amount of food in the box for the price! Since moving to Camarillo, we've been exploring more of the area and occasionally Thousands Oaks. Love that The Oaks mall has a Sarku in the food court. So far we've came here three times and they always made our food fresh. We always get the teriyaki chicken double meat with rice and veggies. Extra sauce is free and they don't play with the sauce! They drench your plate in it! Service is always friendly. The only thing that sucks is they don't have real sriracha like the Ventura location has. My girlfriend and I decided to give this restaurant a try as we wanted to shy away from our last food court meal at the Mongolian BBQ. We ordered a chicken terriyaki with rice and noodles and a chicken and shrimp terriyaki. We added a side of gyoza. The wait was long but to be fair there were about 5 other parties ahead of us waiting for their food as well. The counter was decked with COVID protection display glasses. They had a microphone speaker system when you order for better hearing. The pick up window has a small opening for the food to be slid out to you. There is a sign advertising their online ordering system where you can get $5 off your first order of $10 or more. Food review: The gyoza was very crunchy and had a great taste. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the side. No sauce necessary but they did provide a packet of plum sauce. My Chicken terriyaki dish was a little disappointing as they overcooked my chicken. The chicken was crunchy and not what you would expect when you order a chicken terriyaki. The sauce dried up due to the overcooking. There was not a lot of chicken meat in the meal either, so if you like more meat, you'll have to order extra for $2. I will say that the noodles were very delicious and saucy and the rice was soft and sticky. My girlfriend's shrimp and chicken terriyaki was better than mine. The chicken was cooked right- tender and soft, not burnt, and saucy. There were barely any shrimp in her box, I think about 5 max. I got a basic shrimp teriyaki plate which included white rice, shrimp + mushrooms grilled in teriyaki sauce in front of me, and some hot veggies (cabbage, carrots, etc). I am a person who likes simple flavors and nothing spicy and this meal delivered. I found the taste to be a little dull, but I enjoyed it immensely and they do offer a range of sauces you can add to your food if you want to add some heat to it or sweet/sour sauce as well. The price was okay (high, but as expected in a mall food court) and the speed was good. I would get this same dish again. This sneaky blasted ninja took my order who failed to mention they don't have fried rice. I went there on Sunday evening and saw the picture of Teriyaki Shrimp bowl that looked appealing. On the picture, it had fried rice, topped with Teriyaki shrimp with a salad on the side. When I received my order it had plain rice instead of fried rice. My brother and I asked the Spanish chef where is the fried rice, he said rudely they don't have any. I nearly pulled out my Samurai chopsticks and made chop suey out of that blockhead. My brother mentioned to them this is false advertisement and they should have been upfront, to begin with. My brother then asked well did we pay for the fried rice or plain rice? Without even looking at our bill he said the fried rice is 75 cents more and we didn't pay for it. I will never go back here again. Recently, meat quantity has reduced 50%, with extra chicken portion now only at previous regular size. Could be management cost cutting or cook stinginess. In the past, overflowing generous meat portions made up for mediocre service and food quality. Unfortunately, penny-pinching on meat portions have reduced both food value, customer queue and goodwill. A good business thrives on building loyal customers, not disappointing with penny-pinching portions. Such cost savings may not be worth the loss of customers going elsewhere to other stalls.
