The spot is decorated nicely for a evening out that doesn't require all the dress up.. love the fact of the open kitchen concept where u get to see them cooking(flipping pasta) in the saucepan i played it safe and got spaghetti with meatballs and 2 bread sticks that costs around $17.00 let me tell you i was definitely enough to share and then some! The hype is real! I saw this place come up on my feed and after the rave reviews, decided I had to come see for myself. Note, this place is located in a little strip of the Schnuck's plaza. My gps was going crazy until I noticed it on the left. I got there around 1:10 and there was a decent amount of people in there but luckily no wait. After scouring the menu, I decided to get a build your own bowl so I could get what I wanted instead of asking for things not to be in there. I chose the rigatoni as my pasta, pesto (of course) as my sauce, and added broccoli, roasted red pepper, and chicken. Word to the wise, be VERY CAREFUL about what you put in your bowl! The base starts at $10, the proteins are about $5-6, and each topping is $1.50, aka it adds up fast! ! I also got a side order of breadsticks, and a side Caesar salad. After taxes and a tip, the total was $32.23!!!! I was pleasantly surprised, esp for this being "fast casual". After placing my order, I was given a free water cup while I waited. I sat down and observed the inside as well as the patrons. There's ample seating, it's clean, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and more importantly, their food. I love the fact that their kitchen is open and you can watch them cook everything. It made me feel like I was in a high end restaurant for a second. After waiting a total of 4 mins (if that), my order was brought to me. I was taken aback bc I'm used to having to retrieve my food, so this was a nice gesture! As I drove off, I wanted to take a peek at everything. Since this was my first meal of the day, I decided to eat one of my two breadsticks. It was soft and flavorful, but a tad salty. I'm unsure of which cheese was put on top. Also, I thought there'd be sauce that would come with it. Oh well. When I got home and took my food out of the bag I was in utter disbelief. I had no idea this bowl of pasta was this large AND deep. Instantly my eyes grew bigger than my stomach. I put a decent amount in a bowl and went to town. The pesto was how I'd imagined it to be but the star of the dish were the breadcrumbs! I'm not sure how to describe them and while they weren't what I was expecting, they added more "mmph" to the dish in the best way possible. The chicken was good; not seasoned but because of the sauce, it made up for it. I savored each bite. It didn't take long before I was stuffed (which I expected to happen) and I had to tap out. Since the pasta was so filling, I couldn't even get to my salad. This food far exceeded my expectations and left me full for the duration of the day. While this isn't in my area, I don't doubt for a second I'll find some way to make it back. I highly recommend you check it out. read more

Great new fast casual Italian restaurant in St. Charles. Loved that they use fresh hand made pasta made in front of you! The food is fresh and full of flavor. My husband and I enjoyed both the rustic and cosmopolitan salads. We also enjoyed the deconstructed lasagna and shrimp bruschetta pasta. For a more budget friendly option, consider the pasta and salad combo. Still plenty of food at a good price. The service is so fast so even if the tables are full, they clear out pretty quickly. You should go spend your $20 at the nearest Fazoli's for a bigger portion of a food and better taste. I understand everyone is saying the quality is better, but based on the taste I just don't see it. I would say the shrimp Bruschetta was delicious and worth the $10 if that's something you really crave. However, $6 for two breadsticks? I think it's beautiful inside and the atmosphere is nice however the lady at the front seems like she hates her jobs so everyone has to suffer with her. read more

An Instant Fav! My wife and I ventured here a couple of days after their grand opening. We are big fans of Fratelli's and familiar with the Italian street food concept. We were so very excited when we learned that one of our favorite restaurants was bringing the concept to STL! And boy were we NOT disappointed! We walked in and hurried to the left to order. Wanting to try the entire menu, we started with the classic salad and a side of meatballs. The salad was similar to Fratelli's house salad but tossed in their house dressing. The meatballs were perfectly bite-sized and were resting in a tasty marinara. For our mains we ordered the pasta con broccoli, the chicken fettuccini alfredo, the spaghetti and meatballs and a couple orders of breadsticks. My spaghetti was beautifully presented with a hearty meat sauce and five meatballs...delicious! My wife enjoyed her pasta con broccoli and my son loved his chicken fettuccini. We devoured the breadsticks and had to make another order. I found the dishes to be hearty and well made. I am happy to say that I will be returning often! read more

Stopped in for a late lunch with our daughter who attends Lindenwood right across the street. The decor is very crisp and clean. I was surprised by the somewhat limited menu- just pasta, salad, and bread. We each ordered a pasta. We opted for full size instead of the lunch size so we could have leftovers. We ordered a spaghetti and meatballs, pasta con broccoli, rigatoni carbonara, a full Caesar salad, and breadsticks. It was all really good. The spaghetti came with a thin noodle- more like angel hair- with a meaty sauce and 5 small meatballs, pasta con broccoli was loaded with broccoli and a true pink sauce, the carbonara was a creamy blend of Parmesan, bacon, and egg. The Caesar salad was good sized, loaded with a really good Caesar dressing and lots of parm and croutons. The breadsticks were warm and soft- the perfect vessel to get the extra sauce from the pasta. We enjoyed it a lot. I do think the prices are a bit high for pasta- even really good pasta- our total was over 70.00 for 3 pasta, a salad, breadsticks, and 1 soda. I appreciate quality, but also value and the portion was not excessive. It won't stop us from coming back, but we will probably share pasta instead. read more

I've had my eye on the Sauci Pasta Instagram for a while waiting for them to open and I believe I was here on their second day of "soft opening." The menu is straightforward and I went with the Fusilli pasta, Rose sauce, bacon, and broccoli for the pasta and ordered the Classic salad. Both were very adequate portions. The salad was the standard Fratelli's salad with their creamy Italian dressing. It was a touch under dressed. The pasta was fresh and hot when delivered and had a great flavor. While I thought the prices to add items such as the bacon and broccoli were very reasonable the amount was slightly sparse. I really like this concept but I think the menu will need some tweaks. It's completely logical to want salad and pasta but right now they only offer the entrée sized salad. They need a side salad to add on to the pasta. What they probably need is a "you choose 2" option on the menu. What is the pasta salad side for? You don't serve anything that needs a cold pasta side dish. There were no knives out for dining in. There were only forks. I had a salad. Some of the lettuce was large. I would have liked to cut it. They delivered my salad and pasta simultaneously. I understand this is a fast casual situation but if you do want both salad and pasta keep in mind that if you want to eat the salad first it's possible your pasta will be cold by the time you get to it. All in all I found the food to be really good and the place to be modern and bright. I'm sure it will be a great success. read more

We came in for dinner on a Saturday evening. The ordering was quick and I got the Pasta combo with Caesar Salad and Chicken Alfredo. The salad came out right away and was perfectly dressed. The chicken alfredo was very tasty and the homemade pasta was great. The service was great and the owner even came by and offered our group a sample of a future dessert that wasn't on the menu yet. This location is new and still learning its menu. I stopped in for lunch with high hopes. I think with more practice they will work out the kinks. I ordered the pesto pasta. There were no veggies in about 2 mushrooms and wayyyy too much pesto sauce. It was also greasy. A good Italian pesto is not greasy. The sauce itself and noodles had a great taste. The noodles are made in store so I expected them to be good. Mine were very Al dente which is fine but almost not cooked enough. I purchased a drink and a pasta and I walked out with a $25 bill for one person. The portion was large I did take half home to eat the next day. Overall it was only ok. I was hoping someone figured out fast food Italian. But I've come to the understand that good Italian cannot be made quickly. read more
