Eggs Your Way* with scrambled eggs and apple bacon with home fries and English muffin

Staff was nice and accommodating. Food was tasty. A quick breakfast before heading out on the town.

After reading reviews, I didn't really want to eat here, but I'm glad we did. The atmosphere is very relaxed and had simple decor. We went for breakfast and had already decided against the buffet because of the high cost. We both ordered the "Eggs your Way" for $17...it came with eggs, breakfast potatoes, choice of meat, choice of bread, and a tomato that was cold, but looked like it had been roasted. Food was very flavorful and portions were large. Didn't catch the name of our waiter, but he was very attentive without being intrusive. He was friendly and made great suggestions, and was always there to refill drinks before we even noticed they were empty.

Clam chowder. Do not get it. The sugar packet is to show the size of the bowl.

Overpriced and poor quality food. The clam chowder was small. The worst was the clams were chewy and had a fishy taste. Could not eat it. I ordered watermelon basil juice; no basil on it. It hurt to pay for this food.

Located in hotel, overpriced, mediocre food. But when you are here for a conference there's very little choice in walking distance. Avoid

This place has a handwritten note on the mirror that says, "Voted Best Restaurant in Southie for 4…read moreYears in a Row." After dining here, my thought was that it's probably because that's as long as they've been open. I have no idea if that's actually true, but that's just how good their food and dining experience is. The very first thing we noticed when we sat at the bar was how refreshing the water was. I immediately got excited for my meal because, as I told my coworker, "Any place that pays this much attention to the small details and cares about serving the highest-quality tasting table water, their meals have gotta be GOOWD!" And the award-winning tofu burger was just that. But equally impressive were the fries. And then the ginger butter and BBQ dipping sauces absolutely stole the show. They were so good that I found myself scrounging around, looking for anything left on the table to dunk into those uniquely layered flavor-packed sauces just so I'd have an excuse to consume a little more. Then came the literal cherry on top...or perhaps the cookie on top. The chef/owner made a surprise appearance at our table and blessed us with some unbelievably delicious cookies to cap off the night. What a joyous way to end an already fantastic meal. Moonshine 152 is the kind of place that gets the little things right, and those little things add up to a memorable dining experience. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Boston.

As soon as we saw them at Moonshine 152, it was an auto order, and they were exactly what you'd hope for: the perfect combination of a jalapeño popper and a crab rangoon. We started the night outside on the patio with those, a Downeast cider for me, my favorite, and a Battery Steele Golden Path Pilsner. Great weather, a view of the Pru in the distance, and crab rangoons on the table. Pretty hard to complain. For dinner, I went with Leslie Knope's Fried Chicken and Waffle. Somehow, I had never actually had chicken and waffles before, and now I understand why it's such a lethal combination. The chicken had exactly the crispiness I was craving, and throwing the sweetness of the waffle, cinnamon honey butter, and sriracha-bourbon sauce into the mix completely sold me on the whole sweet and savory thing. I now also understand why Chick-fil-A looked at chicken and waffles and essentially decided to make a sandwich out of it. My friends went with the burger and birria gringo tacos, and both gave their respective orders top marks. The best thing we ate, though, was the bananas n' cream gooey butter cake. Gooey butter cake always slaps, and Moonshine's version was top notch. Chef and owner Asia Mei even gave us a larger order, which leads to probably my favorite thing about Moonshine. Mei brought out all of our food herself and stopped to talk with us throughout the meal. That kind of thing is cool. There are plenty of places where you can get good food, but having the person behind the restaurant actually interacting with you and making you feel taken care of is the type of thing that separates a place. Everyone else working there was just as friendly and attentive, and the whole night felt easy. Sitting outside with friends, looking out toward the Pru, drinking good beer and cider and eating food that was actually fun to order is exactly what I want out of a neighborhood restaurant. Then I found out they do a burger of the month. I love a monthly burger. Give me an excuse to come back every month and see what you've come up with, and there's a pretty good chance I'm going to take you up on it. Moonshine 152 took care of us from the moment we sat down until the oversized gooey butter cake hit the table. It's absolutely worth a visit, and if they keep rolling out a new burger every month, this definitely won't be my last one.

Service was great and everything we got were delicious: - Kestra Breakfast Plate: 5/10 I was a bit disappointed that I could only pick one protein, got the sausages and it was laughable how small the portion was. There seemed to be more potatoes than anything else. Regardless, I think everything was cooked well and tasted great. - Turkish Breakfast: 7/10, was surprisingly good! I've never eaten a block of Feta before but it was very fresh and not overpowering. They had fancy HEIRLOOM tomatoes so that was a nice and refreshing surprise. - Short Rib Hash: 8.2/10, a great value! The only thing is that the short rib was dry... but overall still tasty and filling. - fruit bowl: 9/10, the fruit bowl is ENORMOUS! Super large portion of pineapple, honey dew, orange cantaloupe, grapes, Raspberry, strawberry, blueberry. - Lemon Ricotta pancakes: 7.2/10, great texture of pancakes had a nice bounce to it and slightly mochi like. I had to have a side of maple syrup because they didn't give enough lemon compote. - Croissant: 1000/10, I ordered Ala carte and this was top 2 best PLAIN croissant I had. It was large and perfectly light and fluffy and buttery all at the same time. I also LOVE butter and jam so this was perfect.

The brussel sprouts were not good as it tasted like someone put an entire lemon on them. It was also outrageous to charge an 18% service charge and a 3% admin fee on food that I picked up from the restaurant. We went up to the hostess stand and were seated right away. Our server came by and was very friendly. However, as the night went on the service became quite slow. It took a lot of time for our food to come out and to get our to-go boxes as well. For a drink, I ordered the PINA-NO-LADA. It is basically a virgin pina colada. Very delicious and they added some nice cherries on top. For the food we shared: -CEVICHE: Great flavor and very fresh octopus. Went well with the tortilla chips it came with. -SHRIMP SCAMPI: The pasta was cooked perfectly as were the shrimp that were big and juicy. However, the sauce was overly acidic. There was way too much lemon in it. I do also wish they had more than just 4 shrimp on top of a $30 bowl of pasta. -BRUSSEL SPROUTS: Was good brussel sprouts. All in all, while the food was pretty good (with some hit or miss elements), it is such an expensive meal especially for the portion and service you are getting.
