Service was really good. Ambiance is great. Location (JW Marriott lobby) is perfect for going to a game at Staples center or going to the now called Peacock theater. We had dinner there last night. Had appetizer of foccacia and olives, pizza (mushroom and garlic) and cauliflower side. We were pretty happy with the food and drinks - the pizza was ok. Too much cheese and no sauce so very little favor. The crust was good though. I wouldn't order the $8 foccacia - not worth what they serve. I wish I had photos but it was one large serving of bread. Tasty but not worth the cost. Pizza took forever to come out and we had to leave in a rush because it took too long. read more

Stopped by LA Live for lunch after hearing that parking is free for lunch diners between 11am-2pm; DTLA is always a parking nightmare but there was plenty of parking available in the garage and escalators pop up right in the middle of everything. Chose to dine at Savoca in the JW Marriott lobby which was a great choice. Very open & airy environment with floor to ceiling windows so it feels like sitting on a patio even when indoors. The server was really nice; he had a few recommendations but I had my eyes on the Branzino which was amazing! Presentation looked great, the skin on style was cooked perfectly crispy and great compliment to the fennel and blood orange! Delicious!!! Definitely recommend and will be back! read more

Service was extraordinarily slow just like the first time I visited. 1st experience: 15 minutes before server arrived to welcome and ask about drinks. 15 minutes later returned with drink then took order. 30 minutes later food arrived. WHO has more than an hour for lunch during weekday while working? 2nd experience: long wait (didn't keep track of time but certainly similarly excessive) to be greeted, given menus, and provide drink order. Meals ordered and once again, it took about 20 minutes for food to arrive. Once it did, this photo is worth 1000 words. The side salad is twice as big as the lunch pasta order. After my mom and her fiancé went to sign the papers to get legally married. We decided we had to have a drink somewhere fancy. Will the Ritz is right across the street ! Let's go there ...OK. We walked in and they walked us around. They let know that the restaurants is closed till February 9. They walked us over to Savoca . let us know that the food was amazing. OK we ordered some drinks and burgers and pizza. Everything was amazing. The service was impeccable. Of course, being the loving daughter that I am I had to pull the waitress aside I said, is there anything special you can do for my mom and her new husband they just got married ! She said yes and next thing you know, the whole restaurant was on board with working to make the celebratory dessert ! I want to thank Joanna and the kitchen full of chefs. We were staying at JW Marriott, so assuming room service food is from Savoca. Our reservation has $50 credit for food + $20 for being elite member. We were there for KCON and having in room service was the most efficient for breakfast and dinner. We had the American and omelette and they were consistently good. I can't recall the gentleman's name but he was slim, tall and older with salt and pepper hair. Anyway, we were a party of 6. I really enjoyed the prosciutto pizza. The service and price is what you would expect for a Ritz Carlton/ JW Marriott restaurant. The food, however, was rather trite. I made reservations, hoping to enjoy a nice Easter Brunch with my mom. I really didn't know of many restaurants in the DTLA area, but made the assumption that a restaurant at the Ritz Carlton/ JW Marriott wouldn't let me down. The service is what you would expect at the Ritz Carlton. They really do hire such wonderful people that know how to give you the proper experience for staying at their hotels. We were told whatever we wanted on the menu, with the exception of a couple of items, were available at the breakfast buffet. I hardly ever order the buffet because I don't eat that much and usually the food on the buffet is sitting out. However, the pancakes, French Toast, omelets, etc. were all made to order. The breakfast buffet became more appealing since breakfast favorites like an Eggs Benedict (of any variation) was not included in the menu and the sausage, bacon and similar protein on the menu would be the same as what's on the buffet. Moreover, if you took anything on the menu and added the price of coffee and juice, you were paying about the same as the buffet. To make a long story short, I ordered the buffet at over $30 per person. Again, the price is what you'd expect for a Ritz Carlton/ JW Marriott. The food and ambiance, however, lacked energy. There was no music or anything that would dampen the noise to make it feel less like a common cafeteria. Perhaps some larger plants would have deadened the sharp noises and created a more lush atmosphere. The food was ordinary. There is no other word to describe it. The buffet didn't even have smoked salmon, capers, crackers, or grapes. The most surprising is that there was no alcohol on the menu. Not even a Bloody Mary. I think if I was staying at the hotel and just wanted a quick breakfast before making my way to the airport, this would meet my requirements. For a nice brunch, then, "No!" read more

So admittedly we arrived 15 mins after our reservation time. We had tried to call but it just rang and rang. Luckily ( or so we thought)it wasn't busy and less then half of the tables were seated so we were sag right away. The menus and waters were dropped off and we explained that we had a movie to catch in an hour, the water said it would be fine. It took at least 15 min for the waiter to come back, we reiterated our need to be gone in 45 min and ordered a coke, a glass of champagne, the salmon and the special. It took over 20 min for the champagne and coke to come out. We reiterated that we needed to leave shortly and were assured the food would be out. It's also worth noting that no one checked on us at all and we only saw the waiter to take the order and drop off the food. Also I had time to count the staff and there were 6 waiters, 2 people who appeared to be some type of manager, as well as bartenders and other staff, they seemed over staffed since the restaurant was only about a third full. We had 10 min to eat the food and had the check rushed, food was fine and tasted ok, but not memorable or worth the price imho My husbands diner came with desert which we were told was coming out when the food was delivered but we didn't get it and felt that it would take to long to leave so we left. The bill was a little over $100. Also happy to see tatinger champagne in the list but at $45 a glass that's over priced ( Disney who over charged for everything charges $25 a glass for context) read more

When one salad you order is supposed to have dates and figs and there are literally NONE to be found, and the other is supposed to have avocado and there is NONE to be found, you already know you're in trouble. Savoca doesn't even bother mailing it in, it just plain doesn't seem to care. The pasta entree was fine...just fine, nothing I couldn't do at home. I get it, you're a hotel restaurant at LA Live with a captive audience, but come on guys, a little pride in your work, maybe? Luckily we sat outside, but be warned that if you sit inside, it is nothing but noise. Truly. Hooray for spectacular server Ryan! Super professional and after a long day drive back from the winery helped make this dining experience relaxing and hassle-free. Reservations online and calling difficult to impossible. However once there, no problem. Hostess and Matradee attentive. Dining area conveniently located at JW Marriott hotel lobby. Serves up pseudo Italain restaurant but the service makes up for it! And if you don't mind authenticity and just crave pasta, this place will do. Otherwise selections like Brisket Beef were said to be tasty. No table bread. The restaurant bar area that seats 6 is a go-to every day of your stay because of Alex the bartender... he definity tends and provides the current 411 in LA. My English muffin came out and served under cooked as you can see on right. I had to order another which was done perfectly but I was already half done with my meal. My daughters Avocado toast with egg was great though my wife's 3 egg omelet we requested as a scramble came out with what looked like 1 egg scramble.. We were all pleased with our dishes. Definitely different Italian more modern twist. The cavatellj and pistachio Pesto dish were the best. The chicory salad was so crispy Cold and tasty with just the right amount of ingredients. Focaccia bread was my daughter's favorite. Menu was somewhat limited so I ordered the Cavatelli pasta with crab, Corn, brown butter & lemon breadcrumbs. Proportion to its size, it was very good & mighty filling. Hubby chose the Pistachio Pesto Campanella pasta, which turned out to be flavorful as well! Others in our group, had the Seared Branzino, Prosciutto pizza and roasted cauliflower side dish. I wouldn't say it's the best but made do for a lovely evening. The restaurant itself was spacious and had a modern interior vibe to it; although it can use some decor upgrade. This restaurant is beautiful, it's inside the JW Marriot in downtown Los Angeles. Came here on a date, he had reservations and the lady who seated us was very nice. I ordered the pistachio pesto campanelle pasta, now I'm not a big fan of pistachio but this pasta was delicious. You couldn't taste the pistachio, it was more lemony and the shrimp was garlic seasoned. Now for the drinks I recommend the LA sunset because it had a similar taste to a Mai tai. For dessert, we ordered the bombolini and oh my goodness it's heaven. It's a fried donut with jelly inside and powered sugar on top. This is a restaurant inside of the JW Marriott hotel in LA Live. They also handle room service for the hotel. They serve some of the worst Italian food I've ever paid for. Super bland and flavorless. No bread served with the pasta. No Parmesan provided for their bland bolognese. Dinner in the room was the same bland flavorless cuisine. How do you make bland Buffalo wings? Pancakes and chicken sausage for breakfast was quite good! Eat breakfast with them. Skip the rest. Hours posted here are wrong. They are open all day until about 11pm. read more

From the time I first called to make the reservation, to arriving the day of, Augosto blew me away. He oozes professionalism and is very accommodating and kind. You really get the sense that he cares to provide excellent service. Well, we have a new winner - this place was literally the worst we've experienced in say the last 3-4 years (seriously). This place is located in the lobby of the JW Marriott hotel at LA Live. The space has turned over with different restaurants at least 3-4 times over the past 5 years. What was wrong? 1) Service, while friendly, was very slow. 2) Food was terrible - we ordered 1 pasta dish and 1 pizza. The pasta itself was over cooked, and way over-sauced. The pizza? Well, just just say you can get a better pizza from Domino's. Pizza definitely was not made fresh - looked like a frozen pizza put into one of those quick bake ovens. It was LOADED with way too much cheese. 3) You would expect food to come out at roughly the same time. Not here - our pizza came out a good 20 minutes after the pasta. How does that happen? We will never be back - terrible food and it was overpriced as well. Note for those who gave this place 4+ stars - PLEASE try Bestia, Rossoblu, or Factory Kitchen - all of those are within a mile of LA Live and offer far superior Italian food (at a cheaper price believe it or not), much better service. read more

We stayed here at the JW Marriott LA Live for the International Stroke Conference 2020, so of course we were ended up here. The good: Took over chef Ben Ford former restaurant spot, Italian with California twist. Lot of sunlight coming thru, comfortable booth, nice and airy, modern sleek design. California Burger, Tagliatelle Bolognese The delicious Tiramisu The cheese plate Steak and potato for kid was a bargain. The not good: Bloody Mary Roasted Cauliflower was more burnt. $28 of tiny roasted chicken & sautéed veggies. That's very expensive in my book. If this place dedicated to the business travelers. They better serve faster. First I called down to the restaurant 3 times, no one picked up the phone. And you had to call to the JW Marriott before they can transfer you to the restaurant. It was very inconvenient. Service was slow and we came in for a 2 pm lunch... the restaurant was 1/3 full but the kitchen takes a long time to get the food out. Then they dropped the food to our booth, oops it wasn't ours; so these 2 back servers/food runners, picked the food up; moved the next table without apologizing. Our server was trying to be nice but we had to flag her multiple times for things she forgot to get us. It was whacked. I wouldn't think a decent new place inside a JW Marriott would be like that! I understand it's a new spot! But there is so many good restaurants in downtown LA walking distance here. They better get their craps together soon! Better than expected for hotel food. The server was really energetic! Honestly the complimentary fried dough balls were one of my highlights! We asked for a second round of it to go with our extra cheese and our server brought them over without a problem (fresh out of the fryer too!). Apparently we ordered the top three pasta dishes the pesto, cacio, and bolognese! I liked my dish--the pesto the best! It was a creamy sort of pesto and very filling! I thought the pasta was a little bit overdone but I usually prefer realllyyy al dente noods haha. Out of the appetizers I think I preferred the burrata-- but usually you can't really go wrong with it, it's just amazing cheese on a plate! Pros: We got seated right away, there was no wait, service, and tasty food. Cons--a bit overpriced (the ice cream portion was so miniature!) for some people it would be the perfect amount but I loooove my desserts and can usually handle three times that scoop size even if i'm full LOL! Also we were asked tap or bottled water. We chose bottled and they charged $6 per bottle (a bit steep but hotel prices amirite!). The food comes out pretty slow i'm not sure if it was intentional but since we had the appetizers we were okay and not super hangry! A good, visit once type of restaurant, but not really a dying to come back. It's a solid option if you're staying in the LA Live Marriott hotel and don't want to walk or drive anywhere! read more

Our first time trying Savoca since it just opened, and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was good. The restaurant is a bit loud since it is an open floor plan and open to the JW Bar, but that didn't bother us. My husband ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese and it was delicious. I had the Pistachio Pesto and it was fantastic! Our server Andrea was pleasant and made some great suggestions. The portions are small so we also got the charred broccolini and the Avocado Caesar salad as well. read more

First of all, I love all of the food provided from Los Angeles, but this was the worst "Italian" place I've been to. Their lasagna was terrible. It looked like the type of canned dog food you would give to your dog. The noodles were over cooked, and the meat was salty. There was a vegetable in the meat I couldn't identify. The cheese had the consistency of cottage cheese. It was mushy and nasty! And to top it all off , THE FOOD WAS COLD!i would give it one and a half stars because the staff was nice, but you cannot do that.
