Everything was going OK until I asked the waitress for more ketchup for my salmon and french fries. They brought me one in a little dish and I asked for more and the waitress came back and said her manager said they couldn't give me any more ketchup. The brushetta appetizer was absolutely delicious! Five large slices of melt-in-your-mouth toasts topped with tomatoes and burrata. Fantastic! Husband ordered the filet. He's usually disappointed but the server assured him that it was a house favorite. He says it was absolutely THE best steak he has ever had! We've been home for a couple hours and he's still talking about how great it was! Ambiance is nice inside although it is a little loud. I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant after walking by it many times in downtown Carmel and seeing how nice the patio looked. We were lucky enough to get a spot on the patio and it was a nice for a while. Unfortunately, we were rudely interrupted by a large amount of bees constantly. I ordered the chicken parm, pink lemonade drink and fried Mozzarella. The fried mozz was a really solid starter and the rest was pretty good. The sauce had a very strong garlic taste. Overall, I was pretty disappointed the bees weren't taken as serious after multiple employees seeing it was seriously taking away from our meal, but it was a nice place with decent food in a good location. read more

One of our favorites - both as a couple and to have guests experience! We love it for the consistency in the food (the mashed potatoes are the only thing that tends to change in flavor, so you know they're real)! The servers are great! We had Portia last, and she was amazing. We often get Michael who is also great! We love love love their filet (and it's such a reasonable price) and we'll occasionally splurge on the truffle parm fries. Other favorites are the Bronx Bomber pizza, the pork chop, bolognese. It was only fitting that we start the weekend off by going to Savor. Although I have not experienced this restaurant much I enjoy the environment and atmosphere as it is contagious as you walk the streets in Carmel. I was disappointed to hear that this restaurant will no longer be serving its wood fire wings that I have yet to taste. However, they offered me a new entree to their menu called the Pork belly and sticky rice. Our waitress Maddy, encouraged me to give it a try. She said it was brand new and the managers gave it rave reviews. I asked would I be the sacrificial lamb. She laughed and said yes. I must tell you that it was one of the best tasting meals I had in a long time. It also came with chili sauce that gave it the extra taste. I also had the bread pudding which I am ashamed to say I enjoyed but forgot to take pictures but trust me don't leave without getting it for dessert. An absolute must try in Carmel. This place continues to be a very popular eatery in downtown Carmel. With all the hustle and bustle in this area, parking can be somewhat of a pain but there are two parking garages which have the best chance of an open spot. I tried the 'bronx bomber' pizza with pepperocinis, and everyone else at the table got a pasta dish. The pizza crust was undercooked and somewhat soggy so I wasn't a huge fan. They also appeared to put like an entire jar of pepperocini's on top which seemed to be a bit overkill as I picked a majority of them off. The other's pasta dishes were pretty good though, so I would stick to pasta. However, the primary reason for 2 stars this go around is the service was painstakingly slow. Our server never checked on us outside of the drink and entree orders. We had to flag her down multiple times whenever we needed something. And she did not communicate very well and had us all tapping our fingers towards the end wondering what was going on. We were very much ready to leave when we finally were able to get the check, and now I'm questioning going back. read more

Interior is industrial chic I guess. Too many hard surfaces. They do have some fabric draped in the open ceiling. But it's not enough to cut down on the sound much. My husband had issues hearing me across a very small two top table. His chair was missing one of the little feet so it wobbled. Tables are placed way too close together. Food: We ordered Crispy Mozzarella for appetizer. Flavor was great but I thought it was oily. We also each got a Caesar side salad. It lacked dressing. It was very dry. My entree was Salmon topped with capers on a bed of Risotto. The Salmon was great. I ordered it well done and it was perfect. I was sad about the risotto. It was so salty and the garlic was so overpowering I couldn't eat it. Husband got the Crusted Chicken over pasta. His pasta and chicken were both really good. Desserts: We were told by the server that the Butter Cake was amazing. So I got that. It was the best part of the meal for me. To describe the flavor, it was kind of like a big soft sugar cookie / butter shortbread cookie. It was great. Husband got Chocolate Ganache cake. He loved it. I thought it was too much chocolate, but he loves chocolate. Over all service was great. Atmosphere was a mix of loving the fire wall and hating the noise level and how close the tables were. We went to Savor for the first time tonight and were blown away by how delicious everything was. Cocktails (the bar knows its way around a martini), appetizers (our table got the bruschetta and hummus plate - both outstanding), dinners and dessert were all wonderful. Welp... I have been fan of Savor in past. Specifically the use of Oven for Tuscan style foods. However, the proportions of sauce and cheese has become very disconcerting and honestly this coupled with the ambience of a middle school cafeteria is noise and accommodation... I would rather spend money at Olive Garden. There are so many elegant Italian options around, recommend finding a new one. We started with Artichoke roasted dip. It was good and bread was spot on. My bride got her favorite Romano Chicken which previously has been panko covered chicken with light breading and topped with mozzarella. Now it's a 16-18oz pile of cheese with chicken hidden underneath. Literally no chicken visible upon presentation. I had Ragu and the portion was smallish and it was lack of pasta that caused imbalance. The sauce was rich and loaded, as expected for Ragu... but without Parmesan service and the skimpy noodle portion, sleeping on it was most unpleasant. The drink was good from the bar, Angel Envy old fashioned. The noise level was so high, we found ourselves yelling at each other at the table for 2 positioned in middle of floor. To supplement noise, the house bumped up the house music volume, in attempt to drowned level clientele noise... which was an ill fated attempt. Savor is always a great date night or girls night out experience. The aesthetic makes you forget that you're in Carmel and makes you believe you're tucked away in a big, vibrant city. As the night goes on, a dj plays a mix of 90's and modern R&B and pop. This is one of few restaurants in the Indy area that offers great food and music. For dinner, we ordered the fried mozzarella to start. It was delicious and perfectly seasoned. I had the fettuccini Alfredo with blackened chicken and shrimp. I kid you not--this might be the best pasta I have ever had in my life. The more full I got, the more I wanted. My partner had the roasted chicken with crispy potatoes. The chicken had clearly been marinating for quite some time. It was juicy and flavorful. Savor is a favorite date night spot for us, so we'll be back. I do have to note that our server this evening left a lot to be desired. It felt like she was rushing us and she didn't check in often. We noticed she was spending a lot more time with a table towards the door. When we were leaving, we realized that table had two other Savor workers. Guess they were just hanging out? This was my second visit to Savor with friends, and I have to say I love their food. I will also say I ordered the same thing both times! Their scallop risotto is phenomenal. But I did also try their cioppino that 3 of my 4 dining companions all ordered. The scallops are seasoned perfectly and both times erred on the side of slightly underdone, which I much prefer to fully cooked and therefore overdone. The risotto is rich, cheesy and beautiful with its diagonally-cut asparagus and the mushrooms fresh and bright (not sautéed brown first). As a NorCal native, I am a bit of a cioppino snob (and seafood snob in general). I can say with confidence Savor's cioppino is the best in town, ranking just above the also delicious versions at Monterrey and Noah Grant's. I do wish one could find real sourdough bread in Indiana, however. The one thing that left us disappointed by the experience was that as a party of 5 with a corresponding reservation, we were seated at a 4-top such that one of us had to eat on the corner of the table. The tables are already pretty tightly-squeezed in in front of the widows where we sat. But what was particularly annoying was that there was an unreserved 2-top right next to us that lay completely empty the entire time we were there. We were a bunch of middle-aged women, hardly waify little things, in the dead of winter with coats and sweaters and such. There was no reason to squeeze us in like that and it left us feeling a bit devalued. We ordered two dessert to share, the crème brûlée and the chocolate cake. Both were divine with nice presentation. Our server was delightful as were the rest of the staff who helped. All in all, it was a second good experience and I'll be back. read more

Savor is honestly one of my top choices for pasta, I celebrated my traditional birthday dinner in their party room last year with the establishment; however, today's interaction was bothersome. I placed my usual order and unfortunately it fell short. I've worked in the restaurant industry so I understand things can get overwhelming in the kitchen, but the attitude I received from the manager was highly inappropriate. When taking over a call from the front desk and offering to bring in the order for verification, after voicing my concerns I was told "You can bring it back and we can add to it." When I asked for it to simply be made fresh I was told "Yeah, sure. Return the item so that I can eat it". While we all know accepting already delivered food & "recooking" for the correct item is a health code violation. I made sure to bring it back untouched for verification. The sarcasm and hesitance on the remaking of the correct order I purchased was unwarranted. Hospitality from the gentleman who is the current manager .5/10. read more

I visited with a couple friends and I really understand why this is such a popular restaurant in Carmel. First things first, THE GOOEY BUTTER CAKE, can you marry cake? Wow, just amazing. I will order this every time I visit for sure! We had an issue with our appetizer arriving timely and the manager removed it from our bill, which was very kind. The DJ was playing great music, but it was at a good volume where we could still chat a bit. The food and service were both amazing. My Fiancé and I tried something new for our date night and it did not disappoint! #1 everything we tried was DELICIOUS! We had the muscles for a starter, lamb and ahi tuna for our mains, and the gooey butter cake for dessert. Each and every item was fantastic and my fiancé and I have decided that next time we come (yes there will be a next time) we will each get our own butter cakes! I do not usually like his lamb dishes, but it did not taste gamey at all and has even made me want to get it next time! My family I went there, and the service was great and the food was amazing.i had the Cioppino with linguine. Having traveled from Louisville for a wedding, we were looking for an upscale restaurant in Indy the night before, and are so thrilled that we found Savor! The hostesses were gracious and we can't say enough about our waiter, Craig. We have never experienced more attentive, friendly service, highlighted by genial conversation! Craig was so helpful guiding us through the menu, describing some of his personal favorites, but stressing that Savor is especially credited for its grilling. Craig was so right! I ordered the grilled Branzino--the grilling was perfection, with a crispy exterior, especially edges, encasing a juicy, flavorful fish. The sauce was kind of a puttanesca style (sans tomato sauce), including olives, capers, etc. and was an outstanding choice for accompaniment. My husband chose the perfectly grilled scallops over a beautiful risotto, which exceeded his expectations. Although we wanted very much to order the calamari, and having seen the portion and appearance of it at the next table, were sad that we didn't order it, yet, knew that we might get too full and didn't want leftovers for the hotel. The portions were plentiful, but neither of us left a bite! We really didn't need a dessert, but knew that we shouldn't miss out on what they might have created since our dinner was so amazing. So, we shared Savor's Creme de Brûlée, the best we've ever had (and we've had plenty) because the creme itself was delightfully smooth and creamy, full-bodied with just the right amount of sweetness. Addressing the noise level, yes, with it's high ceilings, we did experience the sounds of extensive conversation. But I realize that in such an environment, pleasing so many people at once, happy customers (maybe even enjoying the great drinks, lol) are going to engage in more avid dialogue. To me, enjoyment becomes verbally contagious, increased by waiters/waitresses, like Craig. Craig exuded excellence in every way, even getting us to share conversation with the next table.
