PHENOMINAL SERVICE!! It has been a long time since I have seen this type of service. Went on Saturday around 10 a.m. We were a party of six, and thankfully, we were seated right away. This was our first pit stop on our way to North Cascade, and I'm so glad we stopped here. The atmosphere is typical of a casual dining establishment. I ordered a black coffee and a classic Benedict. Overall, the food was excellent, with reasonable pricing and serving sizes. The server checked in on us frequently to see if we needed anything and inquired about our well-being. Got to the restaurant today and no one waiting. I was told "someone will be with you in a minute". Five servers went past me, and not one acknowledged me, and the one saying someone would be with me continued on her computer. Another women came up next to me, and a person come around the corner and asked "how many" and seated her right away!! I said I would also like a table for 2, and she said someone will be right with me. WORST experience and rude people. The person meeting me came in, and was also ignored, and I waived to her where I was. No one even tried to help her. We came here right at opening 7am on a weekday, only 1 other table was seated. The interior is really welcoming & bright with all the windows. We normally go to Rusty Pelican but Saw Mill is open an hour earlier (we had to go to work after). I appreciate some of the dishes had half or full sized meals. I do think their portion sizes are a little bigger than Rusty Pelican but RP wins in taste. I ordered scrambled eggs, but they were not fluffy at all and didn't have much taste. It can get pretty packed at Saw Mill Saturday morning, which was to be expected given that it's one of the few breakfast/brunch places around and the weather was nice. I added my name to the waitlist well before arriving (40 minutes before) and it worked out really well because we only had to wait a few minutes in the lobby before it was our time to be seated. Our waitress was quite kind and we didn't waste any time either with ordering either. We had already picked our dishes while waiting in the lobby. I would definitely recommend doing so to save time. Their M&M hot chocolate is one of my favorites and I would highly recommend it. Around the table we ordered steak breakfast tacos, breakfast quesadilla, and a half order of the California Benedict. All orders came with a large side order of either pancakes or hash browns. All in all, Saw Mill Cafe offers big serving sizes and good food. Excellent diner food on a very rainy day in the Mill Creek "downtown", suburban, upscale strip mall.. Got in quickly with 3 people for a late breakfast on a Friday morning. This was not our usual territory so we were casting about for a place and this is part of a small chain that we like (Sammamish Cafe). I had an excellent Kielbasa, eggs and hash browns (although I am getting too old for these gigantic breakfasts). My spouse and daughter split an huevos rancheros with of all things, pancakes and real maple syrup (or at least they said) and there the bigger the better. The kitchen split the order in the back and I don't think there was a split charge which was nice. Good choice, would come back. read more

For a late breakfast, the place was crowded which indicate great food. There is plenty menus to choose from and each dish from other customers looked delicious. I ordered the meat lovers in an omelette with flapjack. Although the dish is standard in any American cuisine, the food was beyond expectations. This place is hands-down one of the best breakfast spots in Mill Creek. I've been here multiple times, and it's consistently great--from the food to the service. It has that cozy, rustic vibe like a cabin in the woods, and the menu has something for everyone. Last time I was in, I ordered the Triple Fruit French Toast and a side of bacon--absolutely delicious. The toast was perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and topped with fresh berries and bananas. I've also had the Veggie Omelette on past visits, and it's LOADED with fresh veggies, not just filler. But the real star of the morning? Toni. She's amazing--warm, efficient, and always makes you feel welcome the second you walk in. She remembered my coffee order like I was a regular (even though this was only my third time in). She even brought over extra napkins before I asked--little things like that make a difference. It does get busy on weekends (for good reason), so get there early or join the waitlist online. But trust me, it's worth it. Big portions, fair prices, and genuinely great service. Pro tip: If you're gluten-free, they offer buckwheat waffles and gluten-free pancakes that are actually really good. Called to see if we can save a table for 9 and I was told to go online and put your name on the waitlist. Tried to BUT showed to call the restaurant... called the restaurant again and then was told "no waitlist", come on in. Arrived, we saw a line??? Walked in and asked "how long"? Hostess said, an hour to an hour in half. Huh!? Was completely confused- we called 5 minutes before we parked. Thank goodness for manager Toni who saved the day. This place (to me) was pretty mid, but my friend loved it. The cabin-in-the-woods feeling this place has is pretty nice, though; I'll give it that. The server had a trainee, and they were both serving us. It was a good level of service. The food I had was pretty decent, except for the biscuit. Even with the jam, it was pretty dry, and I was choking it down. I even tried to sandwich the egg in between the second one, but had no luck. But the bacon was good. We went here for a brunch on a Saturday. It was pretty easy to put our group on the waitlist half an hour before and get the table. They have quite a few tables with diner-style booths and tables. I love their sweet and spicy chicken sandwich with sidewinder fries and the California Benedict was delicious as well. The veggie burger was okay but I was not happy with the tomato basil soup that we got as a side. The Avacado toast portion was smaller than expected and tasted okay. Went here for brunch on a Friday morning. Inside the restaurant, it was cabin-themed and brought some coziness to it. Since it was just the two of us, there was no wait, and we were immediately seated. The service was top-notch, as our server had humor and provided great suggestions. I ordered the Impossible Sausage Benedict, and my friend ordered the Classic Benedict. The food came out at an average time of 15-20 minutes. I loved the presentation of our meals, and it tasted perfect. I recommend this dish to anyone who loves good food. This is my first time at Saw Mill Cafe. I was warmly greeted and seated right away. This place was packed at Saturday morning at 8am. I can see why. Kim greeted me with a smile and took my order. Kim was awesome! I got the Classic Benedict with hash browns and a side of bacon (extra crispy). It was all fantastic. The cut of a ham was thick, the poached egg was on point, the creamy hollandaise tasted perfect with a velvety texture. I highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

Okay, I've now been here four times, and had the same thing each time so it's high time I write a review to let you know that Saw Mill Cafe is a wonderful neighborhood gem for breakfast / brunch. I'd seen Saw Mill on ordering sites previously, (and admittedly d/t photos available... I did not order) and since they have not been available to order. But when looking for a local place for breakfast and looking at other Yelp reviews I figured we'd try it out by actually picking up our own order. Let's start with service: The service is friendly and polite, admittedly some servers are HAPPY to help you while some of the hosts are... less enthusiastic -- I say this having returned three times to the same 'meh' attitude from the host, but the servers were happy to see me, remembered me by my hat and order from the previous weekend. I'm sure it could just be me, but 4/4 times the host has never been as friendly as the servers. The service staff are unique and special, remembering you and inviting you in to eat, even if they recognize you've only come in for a pick up order. Food: I've never, in my life ordered the same food item four times in a row. This is a testament to the cooks / chefs in the kitchen. There is always a friendly smiling woman cooking fast as hell and listen, my omelette has come out perfect every time no matter how fast they're working or if it was the first order for the day. The omelette is FULL of flavor and toppings, unlike many other restaurants that pack your omelette with egg mostly and barely any fillers. Ambiance is very 'family friendly' small diner vibes but it's kept very clean and tidy. It gets pretty popular on the weekends before games so be prepared for a tiny wait if it's full. Again they move quickly so be patient and try a baked good while you wait (THE CINNAMON ROLLS PEOPLE). There are seven cafe's total in this family of restaurants that have the same menu, but slightly different restaurant vibe so try them all out, and put that consistency to the test! read more

Ambiance was cozy, Service was fast and friendly, as well as astute. The food was very good. Ordered the corned beef hash, and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't the typical canned crap most places serve. I'm guessing this was made in house, like shredded corned beef and hash. Even messaged a family member about this one because he's a fan of corned beef and hash as well. Price was reasonable for what you get, and the only thing I had a problem with was a loud guy talking with his buddies, which had nothing to do with the restaurant at all. Clean, tasty, affordable. Had a wonderful experience at Saw Mill Cafe. We came in on New Year's Day for breakfast and we were quickly geared and seated. I ordered the potato pancakes and they were delicious! My husband ordered the meat lovers omelette and he said it was fantastic. Both items were huge portions that we couldn't finish and took home. The staff was wonderful and we had a great time. We went with a party of 6 on a Sunday morning, although the wait time was off. We waited an hour and a half after they said it was 40 minutes. One of the best breakfast and lunch places in the area. Local family owned group of high quality fresh breakfast restaurants each with their own theme. Large plates that as I get older am happy to see that they offer half sized portions also. Not pretentious and very family friendly. Staff has always been outgoing and smiling. The wait can be pretty significant on the weekend but they have a online reservation system that you can check into before you leave your home and can follow so you know your place in the cue. Fresh local baked good available and big hot chocolates for the kids. More pricey than a local chain Dennys but the quality fast makes up for it. Hard to pick a favorite meal but really like the seasonal pumpkin pancakes in the fall. read more

Great restaurant to have brunch. Food is great here. Restaurant is located in mill creek town center. They operate till 3 pm. Only breakfast and lunch. They get quite busy during weekends. So highly recommended to add your party in the waiting queue. You can find the queue by googling restaurant name. One thing to mention that wait queue doesn't show how long you have to wait. (Bad software design). We ordered Corned Beef Hash (half) and California Benedict. Both the items are in good amount. And taste good as well. Especially corned hash beef. I was expecting ground beef meat but here it came little chunky which I loved it. Hollander sauce in Benedict was delicious as well. Hash brown was little crunchy on top layer made it perfect for me. Saw Mill Cafe is one of my favorite breakfast spots in the Mill Creek area. It provides good, friendly service, a nice casual "diner" dining experience, and consistently good food. I generally go for the various types of omelettes depending on my mood, while also going for the kielbasa breakfast too. The hash browns are always super crunchy, food is always prepared well, and it's just good food. I've tried other breakfast spots in the area and I've yet to find something that I enjoy as much as Saw Mill.
