Yes, by chance, we got the Chef's table. We had reservations and they started leading us towards the back away from all the tables. Next thing we knew, we were walking through the kitchen. Ummm, what is going on?!? We then made a right into a private room that I never knew existed!!! There is a window looking into the kitchen and another entrance that is tinted black. You would never see this room from the restaurant. Also, there was a windows view to the Fountains of Bellagio! Our waiters were fantastic and food excellent. The ambiance and feel of this place was amazing. I can't wait to come back here! The good 1. 1/2 Dozen Oysters - The oysters were really fresh and you could really taste the citrus of the tangerine mignonette. The appetizer was light and very refreshing. 2. Octopus Alla Plancia - I usually don't like Octopus, but this was really good! The octopus was cooked impeccable and the caramelized onions elevated the dish. I would get this again! 3. Duck & Foie Gras Ravioli - This was my most favorite dish that we got. You can really taste the Foie Gras and the sauce was very complex. I could just keep eating this. 4. Spaghetti with added Meatballs - I was really surprised by this dish. I was curious as to why this was their signature dish; now I know why. Their spaghetti was cooked al dente but it had a bounciness to it which surprised me in a very good way. The tomato and basil sauce was perfectly balanced and you can add meatballs! Our waiters weren't sure as to why meatballs are not on the menu but know you can request it! 5. Came here for dinner on a Saturday. Food was okay, I thought some dishes lacked flavor. We made a note in our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday but none of the staff/servers ever mentioned it which isn't typical for a restaurant of this pricing. Went to other high end restaurants during our trip and they all acknowledged the birthday so was a little disappointed. They did give us a nice table with the fountain view though so that was nice. We came in HOT with a large group of 25 at the top of the year- celebrating a friends January birthday. According to our receipt, our servers name was Jason. He had a second server accompanying him, who's name I can't recall, but he was equally as attentive! Both of them took such good care of our table, we were never looking for our server. Our table was kept clean, our food was served in a timely matter, and our glasses were always full. I would just like to compliment the staff on their hospitality, attentiveness, and strong knowledge of the menu! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The hostess kindly seated my husband and me next to the window (for a view of the Bellagio fountains) without us even making the request. It took about an hour for our entrées to be served. Our server was so apologetic that he brought us appetizers on the house to ease the wait. He explained that there was a large party of thirty guests that backed up the kitchen. I mean, they are a restaurant after all so you think that they would be prepared for these kind of situations? The food here was so good! The place is fairly dark, certain tables you can catch a glimpse of the Bella Gio fountain. I came here with a reservation with some friends on a Sunday night and it was not too busy although we did have to wait a little past our reservation time. RECOMMENDATIONS: Starting with apps you should order would be the raviolo, if you are sharing I suggest get more than one for the table. The raviolis are big, but it only comes with 2! I also recommend the octopus, it was nicely cooked with great flavor from the sauce. The oysters were also awesome with the sauce pairings. Moving onto the main course, the snow crab risotto was hands down my favorite dish of the night. It was nice, creamy, and savory! I would have to say coming in third (after the riviolo) would have to be the short rib agnolotti, I've never had this type of pasta and it was delicious! My favorite sides were the wild mushrooms, yummm topped with some kind of half melted slice of cheese. The carrots were also very nice, cooked perfectly with a sweet glaze. ____________________ Things that were not my favorite, apps I wouldn't re order would definitely be the Cesar salad underwhelming, as well as the yellow tail crudo (4pcs) the portion size was small and the flavors were also underwhelming. We also ordered the carpaccio which I didn't find anything special about. The prosciutto platter was also quite sad, I asked if it would come with melon but I didn't see any in the plate. For entrees we tried the squid ink pasta, duck ravioli, the branzino, lamb, and filet of beef. Not much to say on these dishes, because I might have been too full at this point. You can tell I have my clear favorites of the night. No hate to this restaurant at all because I really enjoyed my company, the service from the wait and bar staff were good. I will have to complain about getting squished into a small table at first, we had to switch to a larger table upon request. We (group of 4) made a reservation for 8p and arrived about 15min early so we went to the bar. I asked for a pineapple mint mojito and the bartender made this so great! We were seated on time and in an area that was not too close to other tables which was nice. Wasn't overly loud and not too dark! Seems like many restaurants go super dark and makes it hard to see who your with and your food! This restaurant was light colored seating and table settings. The food - so they kick you off with a variety of breads (like 5 different ones) with a side of butter, oil and some kind of olive spread i think - this was unique and tasty. The pork belly with a vinaigrette salad on top was very good and well cooked, not too fatty or anything. I am not usually a polenta fan but let me tell you - this one will change your mind! It was the smoothest texture and flavor was something else with the mushrooms on top. Highly recommend trying. I personally ordered the pici which had a wonderful sweet spice to it and filling portion. The noodles were a little harder than I am used to but very good. Tiramisu was like any other place but the cookie was a tasty addition. Food came out timely and staff was attentive. Only thing was we had ordered 3 sides of which none came out - we advices just to remove from bill no problem. I don't think that warrants losing a star so this place gets the full 5 from me. Food was absolutely incredible. The duck confit might be the best I've ever had and the duck ravioli was also just insanely delicious. Our server, Nicole, was friendly, gave off a really great vibe, and made great recommendations. The only negative aspect of this experience was the Sommelier. He seemed like he wasn't too confidant in his position, seemed squeamish, standoffish, and didn't check back once after opening our bottle. Perhaps he is new but that was our experience. After 16 years together, my partner and I decided to fly down from Seattle to elope and make things official. We went to Scarpetta for the first time for our celebratory meal. Food: Delicious. We enjoyed the complimentary bread, calamari, grilled asparagus, spaghetti and meatballs, squid ink pasta with lobster, and tiramisu. My partner (wife =) is from the East Coast and picky about Italian food; she was happy with it all. I love squid ink pasta with seafood, and this was one of the best versions (and overall dishes) that I've had. Ambience: It wasn't too crowded or noisy inside the restaurant. They sat us at the window, so we were able to watch the fountain at the Bellagio. Service: Everyone was sweet about congratulating us. The head chef even came out to greet us. It's been 5 years since last I have visited Scarpetta in the Cosmopolitan hotel and casino. Scarpetta sits on the third floor with a majority of the sit down restaurants. A nicely dimly lit restaurant with your choice of sitting at the bar or at a table in the dining area. Make sure you request a table by the window to enjoy a view of the Bellagio fountains on display every so often. Small booths are also available off from the bar if sitting in the dining room isn't your thing. We were sat rather quickly. Our server was tentative and answered all our questions. We had come in with friends who were visiting for the holiday. I had talked up Scarpetta from my previous visit. Unfortunately, everyone's meal was subpar. Each of our meals were okay. That's tough to say when it was the complete opposite review of the food from my previous visit. We ordered the salmon (baby artichokes "al verde", concentrated tomatoes, grain mustard vellutata), short rib agnolotti (brown butter, horseradish & toasted breadcrumbs), and branzino (rainbow chard, toasted pine nuts, sun raisins, citrus tomato emulsion, basil). For the prices and my previous experience, we all expected more flavor, more of a takeaway. Nothing about the meal, foodwise, made us talk about it after it was out of our sights. Unfortunate. The bus boy almost felt like he was hovering around our table waiting to take plates. Our seats were located next to the wine cabinets. Throughout our meal, "excuse me for a moment" as the cabinets were opened towards us slightly interrupting our meal. Keep this in mind when you're seated if you'd like less interruptions. This visit falls into a category we have been finding lately for strip establishments. Overcharge and underperform. Prior to our meal being served, we overheard a table next to us complain about paying so much for a steak that wasn't worth it in flavor or experience. My partner and I went to Scarpetta to celebrate our anniversary and I did really enjoy the experience. We booked in advance and made a reservation and we got a great seat near the window for a nice view of the Bellagio fountains. We noted that it was our anniversary so we wondered if they took the extra consideration to put us there for good reason. They bring you a nice bread basket and the focaccia was really tasty. The ambiance there is very nice - itdefinitely gives you upscale restaurant especially with the proximity and the view of Bellagio fountains. Very professional attitude from everyone who worked there. Our server was okay as well. I will definitely say that one thing that I was not too fond of is his attitude when I asked him questions about some of the food. I don't usually go up to very upscale restaurants as frequently so I had a lot of questions about some of this food that was in Italian. I was asking him for recommendations as I didn't really know what to order. He responded to some of my questions in a little bit of a condescending way which I didn't appreciate. When he came back a little bit later I explained to him that I just needed help picking things as I didn't know Italian and didn't know what some of the things meant. I didn't mean to inconvenience him with the questions. It did bother me that his attitude was like that but everyone else was very friendly! The drinks that we got were nice. We got one berry cocktail and I got a Sophia Loren. I initially inquired to him about how much it would be for an espresso martini and I think that he got a bit irked that I was asking for the price. I didn't expect him to know it off the top of his head but I had wondered if maybe he could check. When it comes to fancy restaurants, there's always hidden charges for things that you may think are free. Of course, he wanted to spend a nice night out for dinner, but wanted to be aware of any extra charges we might have to pay for food that we thought was complimentary. Either way it was fine. I'm sure it was a busier time since it was around 9 p.m. Overall the food was good but the portions were smaller than I thought. I guess it's to be expected when you go to a really upscale restaurant like that but for the amount that you pay you think that you get more bites I guess. The quality of the food was definitely very nice but I felt a bit out of my element being somewhere so fancy. Definitely more of an upscale kind of dress code there. They did really make it special and people came to check on us very frequently to see how much we liked the food and we also got a special plate. It was a kind of caramel cheesecake to celebrate our anniversary that was very considerate and overall the experience was pretty good. This is a takeout review of Scarpetta. On the Monday after F1 I wanted to get some good food and eat in my room at Cosmo. If you're in the Boulevard tower a quick trip down the elevator to the third floor gives you access to all of the great options Cosmo has to offer (mostly fine dining). One of those restaurants is Scarpetta. Scarpetta focuses on modern Italian cuisine. They have handmade pastas and more substantial meat focused entrees as well. I decided to get a house specialty, the braised short rib ($70). It's pricey but it does come with an Alaskan king crab leg. I ordered from the bartender and she was extremely pleasant. I also asked for them to include their bread basket as it's well known for being good based on other reviews. I sat at the bar for no more than 10 minutes and my food was ready. The place didn't seem packed but it was Monday and it was towards closing time (9:30). In my room the short rib was a huge portion on top of mashed potatoes, a Demi glace and the crab leg on top. Short rib was fork tender and had a nice beefy flavor. The crab leg was a tiny bit puny but still packed sweet, delicate crab flavor. I dipped all the breads from the bread basket into the Demi because for one reason or another they didn't include the dips they usually include with the bread basket. This assortment came with a ciabatta roll, slice of soft sourdough, a cheesy pesto bread and rosemary focaccia. Check before you leave with takeout! The dips are important! All in all it was a great takeout experience albeit pricey. I would definitely return for takeout or dine-in! read more

Tried out Scarpetta for the first time last night and it had its highs and lows. A few friends of ours picked the place, and my husband and I decided to partake even though we usually don't go out to Italian restaurants. Our whole table did the tasting menu, two got the wine pairing to go with it. The meal started our strong and faded out to a disappointment. The bread basket was great!! The Stromboli pieces were so good and I loved the eggplant dip they brought out. Creamy polenta was amazing! Oysters - delicious! So fresh, and the topping was great although it almost overpowered the taste of the oyster. Octopus - cooked to perfection but needed maybe a touch of lemon. Spaghetti - really good but I added some crushed red pepper for a little more zing. Short rib agnolotti - excellent but very rich. And then the disappointment .... We were SUPPOSED to get the branzino but unbeknownst to us, they were out and we were presented with a piece of salmon. It was fine, cooked well enough but there was nothing special about it. It was also too heavy after the agnolotti. The branzino would have been the perfect dish to follow. Filet - SUCH a let down. The meat quality was not good. My steak was undercooked and somewhat gummy and there was NO seasoning at all! The Swiss chard it came with was awful - way too sweet. Nutella bomboloni - Warm, delicious donuts with a banana ice cream. I thought it was super tasty, but really, it's donuts. Overall, probably one of my least favorite tasting menus that I've tried. I didn't have the wine pairing but my husband said most of the wines were too sweet. The service was actually great, but the food shouldve been better - especially the proteins. This was a while back but I had to leave a review finally. This was my fav restaurant in Vegas. I ate there religiously when in town. But my last time I had the worst service ever. I waited for over 30 minutes for the waiter to take my order. He never showed up. The people behind me who came in after me were eating and I still hadn't even ordered. I tried to flag someone but to no avail. So I went to the hostess finally. She apologized and said the manager would reach out. The manager reached out but my evening was already ruined as I had to get to a show I had tickets for. So I grabbed slices at the hidden Cosmo pizza joint. Much better service...and damn good NY pizza. Plus as I was leaving I noticed a considerable change in the portion size (from the couple behind me) at Scarpetta. Shame....shame. read more

Tucked away on the third floor of the Cosmopolitan, you're probably not going to stroll in here but it is definitely a fine. Our waiter was fabulous, attentive and professional. Even moved us to a better table - his idea. For our meal we had an assortment of breads which could have been the whole meal for me. Following that was a Caprese that was attractively presented and tasty. For our mains we had a Beef Filet on Sautéed Spinach that melted in your mouth, and a Squid Ink Tagliatelle topped with bits of Lobster and a delicious cream sauce.
