This location is the worse by far. We went in on 3/19/23 to pick up a few sandwiches for dinner. There was a guy pushing around a broom just cleaning behind the register. He or no other employees acknowledged we were waiting to place an order. After a few minutes waiting an employee came out from the back and was loudly cursing and saying he didn't want to do some task that was given to him. Once our food was made we noticed that we were not given our bags of chips. When my wife asked if the chips on the counter were ours the employee stated " I don't know with an attitude." She finally asked the employee that took my order and he confirmed it was ours. I was very surprised how unprofessional the employees are at this restaurant. This place is terrible. it has gone downhill steadily over the last 2 years. Today they gave our food to someone else AFTER we told them it was ours. Then, when the other customer complained, they tried to bring it to us. Finally after they had served all the people that had come in after us, we got our food from a surly manager. My recent drive-through experience was the best, and I have to brag. I hope everyone enjoys and appreciates the same type of service I had from Lauren. I'd just had a marathon Christmas shopping experience at Tuesday Morning, and was just too tired to cook supper. This visit for sandwiches was an impulse decision that I'll never regret. I was greeted on the speaker, so quickly my window was only halfway down, with "....ome to Schl..." which i was 3/4 tuning out, honestly. But the she added, "How can we make your life fabulous today?" Wha...? I giggled, and answered, "Well, I'm not sure, but lemme look at this board for a minute, and I'll probably figure out something..." And sat there for way too many seconds, reading the board I've seen 100 times before, only to order the exact same thing I always do. SMH. But the Lauren was patient, cheerful, and spoke so that I knew she'd understood my order, and gave me my total. I could understand her! I'm hard of hearing, and have trouble understanding people when I can't see their lips, or if there's any traffic noise, or if they mumble, slur or speak very quickly, which many people often do, unintentionally, when the phrases they often speak tend to be repetitive. While I was moving up to the window, I started to worry that my reply to her might have been taken as critical, or "gimme a dang minute!" rather than the flippant, teasing remark that I'd tossed her way. When I pulled up, it was my turn to already be mid-sentence. "...ope that you didn't think I was just being another Boomer Karen because I thought what you said was so nice and I was surprised because you know all the stuff I read all the time and nobody..." When I finally shut up long enough for her to try for a turn at civil communication, Lauren came through with a big smile, a compliment in return, and a cookie! My favorite sweet was in my bag, and a new favorite memory was in my mind. Yes, their sandwiches are good. They always are, and my order is always right. But Lauren was like technicolor. She moved an an old, underused favorite into a top spot on the I Ain't Cooking Tonight suggestion list. She did it just by being nice, and friendly, and doing her job well. Super confused by the negative reviews. ive never had a bad experience. Of course i do not usually go inside to eat anymore. Drive Thru for me. So as far as my Drive Thru experiences its been stellar. Food is always prepared to order and fresh, hot and packaged to-go very secure. Their desserts are very good. they have an amazing brownie and cookies. plus its part cinnabon if you love that. Salads, soups, sandwiches, pizzas. The reason you go here is the bread. Ordered this terrific Turkey Avocado Cobb Salad. It was full of Turkey, avocados, spring mix eggs, bacon, and croutons. I showed up after lunch time, there were 4 customers in the entire restaurant. No one in line except for me no one in the drive through. (So NO excuses on being busy.) No one greeted me, and the workers acted as if I was bothering them. I asked them if they could make me a dozen cinnamon rolls or if they had them, please sell me a dozen. No on both accounts. It was almost as if it was part of their job to leave crusty cinnamon rolls for closing time in order to throw out instead of sell while fresh. Food: We ordered Sourdough based Fresh Veggie sandwich and Tomato Basil Canestrelli Pasta. Pasta was okay - lot of tomato sauce which gave it a sour taste. The fresh Veggie sandwich was good. Ambiance: Quite a spacious place with a good number of seating options. Overall, good ambiance. Service: This is where this place has a problem. Here, we need to order at the counter from where they give us a buzzer which will buzz once the order is ready. As we entered, nobody to greet or check what we would like to order. Some staff members were doing something but didn't bother to look up. After some time, one gentleman got free enough to ask us about what we'd like to have. This is not something you'd expect. Food didn't take much time to come. However, the quality wasn't good enough to compensate for the lack of service. This was a tough one for me, as they really did not have much that fit my menu. As this is a self imposed demerit, I cannot subtract a star. I was in Lewisville for an appointment at Modoma (Man, stay tuned for that one..) and I needed somewhere that I could be in and out in 25 mins. I was driving down McArthur, and I realized that I had not been to one of these in at least 10 years. Back then I really didn't care for it. Time for another shot. The cashier was great. He was patient, bilingual and very eager to help. There were 2 young ladies in front of me that were very indecisive, so the guy in the back came to cash me out. One thing that gets me everytime is when you respectfully wait to approach and they call you up, and right when you start speaking they start asking a co-worker how to do something in the middle of you talking and then say, "what?" Yup, it happened. The menu actually looked exceptional. If I ate bread, meat or dairy I would have pounced on that bacon grilled cheese. The flatbreads looked great too. The brisket mac and cheese sounded interesting. I ended up basically piecing together sides to make a meal. The place was clean, and the CO2 and syrup balance on the beverage machine was A+. Theybhad teas and lemonades. The large beverage is actually a large, which is great. There are TV's and booths along the wall. The temperature was comfortable despite the 100+ day and many windows, and parking was too. The lot is basically on the corner of McArthur and Round Grove, so you can pull or in to and fro either street. If you like meat, bread, cheese and chips, this is a good bet! read more

My first trip to this establishment and of course they have made it my last. I ordered through the app and requested that I do not receive any mustard on my sandwich as I find it off putting to my stomach. Upon looking at my receipt it even says no mustard. **Great customer service alert** Amy is her name! Food notes are at the bottom of this customer service review. I came here with a coupon that a co-worker gave me. I really was going to get something healthy to snack on. Then I thought, why not, I have not had a Schlotzsky's sandwich in years. From over the radio you could also hear about their sandwich deal. On this day, Schlotzsky's was having its anniversary and the sandwich was severally discounted. I think it may have been for a dollar on this day. I had pulled up in to the drive through. I hear this sweet voice ask about my order. The time is a little before 11 am, (before they get hammered.) We briefly chat about the order, she seemed very pleasant. I pull up to the drive through window; she takes my money, hands me my receipt. Minutes later a manager hands me my sandwich. I asked him if he would like back my coupon, and he states "no, it's ok." Back to work, have lunch, get things done. I'm headed home, and there is that coupon still in my passenger's seat. So, I am thinking, why not, let's go back. Schlotzsky's for dinner as well. As I go through this whole sandwich purchase again, I here that sweet voice again, I ask her name. "Amy," she replies. I ask if she has been there all of this time and she states "why yes, I have been." I'm looking at this line and thinking "what a trooper!" They had been getting hammered all day long and she was just as pleasant as that morning. I asked to see a manager. He sticks his head out of the service window, and I tell him he needs to give Amy a raise. She was as sweet and nice as all get out and after a full day like what I suspect, she was worth her weight in gold. Hell, I should have hired her! Now mind you big marks not just for her, but who ever hired her as well! I have often thought about writing a review on just her super customer service and end up going back just to get another sandwich. That is how and why you want to have great customer service, it's more powerful advertising than you can imagine. I went back a month or two after my first visit. I went inside to chat about Amy with the manager on duty. Sad to say Amy does not work there any longer. Well what do you know, someone hired her! The workers here need some customer service skills! We were not greeted, in fact the gentleman at the front ignored us while he restocked cookies. No hello, nothing. We were the only customers inside! He finally mumbled "how can I help you" while looking down. Because he had a headset on, we couldn't tell if he was talking to us or not. It was weird. We ordered and sat down to wait for our food. Eventually I see what looks like our food up on the counter, but our buzzer isn't going off. Again, we are one of two couples inside. The guys repeatedly look at us but don't tell us our food is ready or notice that our buzzer isn't going off. Eventually we go up there and ask if it's our food...the guy says yes and that our buzzer must be dead. No apology. Nada. You can tell they just don't care. (Christina, Sabrina and breanna and the ones usally here when I come for lunch) They are so chipper bouncing around from table to table. They have my order punched in before I even get to the counter, Christina frequently encourages me to try something new.. Today I tried a California flatbread. Definitely a new favorite! I frequent this location every month or 2 with coworkers for lunch, usually on Tuesdays because Turkey Tuesday special for 2.99 sandwiches. Very speedy service and they always fulfill my request for extra ranch on the side. I like that they have crushed ice and diet dr pepper. I hadn't visited them in awhile, and received an email coupon for free chips & drink with purchase of their new Chipotle Honeys sandwich. The picture looks delicious and I found myself dreaming of it all morning, and finally headed over there with my work buddy. I go the Chicken Bacon Chipotle Honeys sandwich and It was THE BEST Schlotzky's sandwich I have EVER eaten! No lie. It was sliced deli chicken and chopped bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, with a chipotle honey sauce (which I probably could have drank). I use the drive thru, always quick and good customer service. I love the chicken tortilla soup, fiesta chicken, and roast beef. The salads are ok, not a fan of their ranch tho. They ask me "no cookie and drink?" I said no thank you. Pull up and as she is swiping my card I see cookie and drink is included but she hands me just the sandwich? I said "well I asked for just the sandwich but I guess because you charged me for it, can I have the cookie and drink?" With a serious glare and attitude she got me the extras but seriously? Why wasn't it communicated that regardless if I wanted just the sandwich they would have to charge me for the full meal? If I had known that, I would've ordered an adult sandwich. And her attitude was unnecessary. Then the meal had literally one piece of turkey on the whole sandwich. So dumb for $5. read more

I agree with Jay M's post from a week ago. Staff doesn't greet you and food is not what I expected. There is a Schlotzsky's in Irving across the street from my job that I frequently enjoy. That Irving location made this visit experience disappointing. No chocolate chip cookies, women's restroom out of order, and a bag of ice for consumers to scoop their own ice since the ice machine is also out of order. My sandwich hardly had any turkey meat, also unlike what I always order and receive from the Irving location. When I asked about it one of the employees said they changed the portions on my meal recently. I was just at the Irving location last week. Not visiting this Schlotzsky's again. read more

I ordered two sandwiches through the drive through yesterday. Opened them up when I got home. The brisket sandwich (6 bucks) was about 2/3 the size of 1/2 my wife's small original (see photo I posted 9" plate for scale.) I wish I had taken pictures of the inside of the sandwiches. The brisket sandwich had about two tablespoons of chopped brisket! My wife's original had about 1/8" single slice meat. About 1/10 of the meat shown in the "owner's posted photo." Ridiculously small amounts on both counts. Food costs couldn't have exceeded 50 cents on 12 dollars worth of sandwiches. My guess is the employees are putting less than standard amounts on sandwiches and saving the balance for themselves. I knew people who worked at Arby's when I was in high school that did this. I have been a Schlotzky's customer for close to thirty years but this is the last straw. Called the 817 617-8229 number on the receipt but didn't get any response. Will escalate to corporate I guess. Disappointing to say the least. Probably the worst fast food experience I have had in decades. Run from store #1212. read more
