Scott did a great, thorough job on our clogged drain problem. He is s good guy who is honest and knows what he's doing. The drain was so clogged with grease he took the hard way and replaced the whole line. I think we paid about a third more for Roto-rooter to come out and unclog the same drain about 5 years ago. Now we've got a solution that will last longer and it cost less. This was a really messy job and he figured out a way to get all the stinky, greasy pipes out for disposal without dragging them through the house. I really appreciated that he spent time and energy to be conscientious about cleanliness. If we had any questions about when he was going to arrive or if he could fit us in on short notice, we just sent him a text and he responded right away. read more

I had an outrageous bid from another plumbing company and decided to give Scottco a call after reading all the great reviews here on Yelp. I called their 253 # listed on their website and had to leave a message. About twenty minutes later I get a call back and as i am saying "hello" the guy hangs up on me. I called him right back and again no answer. Two hours later still no call back. I decided to do the work myself. All the cuss words and 8 hours later my project was finished and I saved over $900.00 from the original bid I received. Im sure this is a great company who does good work but I'll never know because they wouldn't answer their phone, hung up on me (I'm sure that was an accident but still) and didn't return my call. I'm updating my original review. I really appreciated getting a response and in May I did in fact give them another shot. I had them run a gas line for me. They were great. Noticed we were remodeling and offered services we didn't know about. They also found a slow leak. We assured them when we were further along in the remodel, we'd call them to do the other stuff. And that's where they came up short again. On Wed I emailed to see if they could come out on Fri and do 3 projects; repair the leak they found in May, fix an attempted home Repair gone bad and install new kitchen faucet. They responded they needed the address and they'd check the schedule and "get back ASAP." Still haven't heard. I've texted and emailed multiple times. Crickets. Clean, Fast & Reasonable! We have a Craftsman with 90 yr old pipes. Our sewer line has been balky for the last decade with frequent back ups and all sorts of unpleasantness (always on holidays!). Finally we faced the grim reality: the sewer line needs replacing. We called three plumbing companies who gave quotes ranging from 17K to 25K. Needless to say we were very depressed and resigned to the staggering price of replacement and eating nothing but ramen for the rest of our born days. A contractor friend recommended we call Scott at Scottco. Within an hour Scott & Matt appeared on the scene. They worked up a plan of attack: Install a clean out mid-way through our 175' (!) sewer line, then auger and jet the line. They camera-ed the line probably three times. Our sewer is now functioning better than it has in years. A 20,000 replacement became a 2,000 repair. Plus suggestions on continued maintenance and upkeep. I am so happy. In the end, it was a very basic fix. But Scottco was the only company who had the wisdom to try the simple, logical solution first. read more

My first experience with Scottco was a hot water tank installation. He did a great job for a fair price. He beat two other quotes I got. The installation was 3 months ago and it has worked great. My second experience was tonight. Before I get back to Scottco, here's what happened: I came home Monday after work to a clogged main line...the whole house was backed up. I called Rescue Rooter cause they had an $88 drain cleaning special. The guy spent about 40 min trying to snake out the clog. Another guy from RR came and put a camera in. To make a long story short, they diagnosed that I had a broken spot in my pipe that dirt and rocks had gotten into. They quoted me $5400 to dig up my yard and fix my "broken pipe". Scottco was my second opinion. He shook his head and guessed Rescue Rooter didn't know what they were talking about. He was right. Scott used his high pressure water jet cleaner and literally fixed my back up in 10 min. Water was free flowing! He put the camera down and inspected the pipe which was fine. The issue turned out to be a bundle of roots where the PVC connected to the old concrete pipe from the city sewer. He fixed in 10 min what Rescue Rooted couldn't...plus they wanted $5400 for what would have been an unnecessary repair. From now on Scott will be my go-to plumber. If you live in an older house you need a go-to plumber that you can trust. I will be calling him from now on. read more

I've been calling on Scott at ScottCo for a few years now and am always happy he's our plumber! The other day I sent him at text in the morning, by the afternoon (same day) he was able to snake out my super-slow drain in the shower. Do you find taking a shower & having water stand like it's a bath annoying? I hate it! Scott started out as my plumber for when I had a hot water tank pilot light went out & my husband was traveling & I was nervous about lighting it. I'd like to put my vote in for Scott. I had a copper pipe that had sprung a pinhole leak and been patched, but I was leary of replacing the drywall without replacing it in case it did it again. Scott came over the same day I phoned and took a look at the pipe. He said that it's not in danger of springing another leak, but he did say that I should put 3/4" pipe foam insulation around the pipe so that if it does spring another leak, the foam will keep it from flooding the garage. The water will instead run down into the basement--still a pest, but hardly the issue that this has been! Bravo for fast response and for really helpful advice! I made a point of asking for his card and I have it on my home office bulletin board now in case anything happens in the future. I'd feel very comfortable calling him again if I need plumbing help. read more

Woke up this morning to a stopped up kitchen sink. Took apart the trap and it was clear. Beyond my skills at this point. Called 2 local plumbers at 8 am.....both said "tomorrow maybe" Called Scott and he said I will be there by 4 pm. @ 3:59 my doorbell rang. One hour later Scott had my drain snaked out and my undersink plumbing rebuilt much better than it was. He also fixed my toilet gratis (bowl was not filling all the way) after asking to use my bathroom. Clean cut, professional manner, honest price and some good ongoing advise for my 50 year old pipes. If there is a plumber more skilled in his craft than Scott then I'll be damned. My sewer backed up into my basement so I called Scott and he was at my house in 20 minutes. He ran a snake down the sewer and found the clog at what he estimated was 50 feet. He talked me into running a scope down there to see what caused it. He said more often than not it's 100% worth it, especially since he'd already removed the toilet to run the snake. So he ran the scope and, no kidding, he found a pile of rocks 52 feet down the drain, basically right on with his estimate. He used a locator to see where the camera was from above the ground. I dug a hole 6 feet deep and it was right where he said it'd be. It turned out there was an old half foot extension from my main sewer line that was never covered up so rocks and soil were entering the drain and causing my sewer to backup. Scott came a few different times to run a scope and use a shop vac to suck the rocks from the pipe. He's a very reliable person, and a great communicator- even when he was working in my 6 ft deep hole he'd answer phone calls from clients. I've dealt with other plumbers before and I can say for sure that Scott is above and beyond the best. His services are very reasonably priced, yet he's more knowledgable and more skilled than the rest. He could easily charge a lot more but that's not his m.o. I should also add that his assistant Matt is equally awesome. Scott saved me potentially 10-15k- no question about it. I take comfort in knowing if I have a plumbing issue again that I've got such great guy to lean on. read more
