Stopped into this place while staying in Simi Valley. We sat on the makeshift patio area. The server was very nice and may have been the owner or manager. He was very proud of the food he was serving. I ordered the tuna melt and my friend ordered the pancakes and eggs special. They both came out picture perfect. Found this place on Yelp & took my family from out of state this morning for breakfast. The service was phenomenal and the ambience was great. When we arrived, they put together a table for our party on the patio. We had biscuits and gravy, omelettes, bacon, potatoes, muchacha platter and lattes. We were served quickly, the food was fresh and warm and excellent. The owner visited our table to see if we needed anything. He was very funny and friendly. Will definitely be back. read more

Don't let the looks of the place turn you off to this home feel cafe! Every single worker was so attentive and kind as well as informative about the menu! They let us know the food items were customizable and I would 110% come back just because the service was absolutely amazing. This establishment may not be widely known, but for someone who has been everywhere in Simi Valley, I can honestly tell you that this place serves the best breakfast in town and probably the best eggs benedict I've had anywhere regardless of price. I'm surprised I waited this long to come here. I've tried their classic Benedict as well as the California and the Cal-Mex one, which has a tangy but not spicy flavor. All have been amazing and I highly recommend them. I also once ordered biscuits and gravy which was generously topped with their housemade rich gravy. Fast and very friendly staff every time. The Simi Valley lunch tour led us here today. It's a cozy, small eating area with limited patio seating. It doesn't look like much from the outside. We were greeted by friendly staff. The menu is the type where you want to order one of everything. They also have a specials wall which aren't listed in their regular menu. Even though I was tempted to get an omlette, I went with the chicken salad. It was quite delicious; had avocado, bacon bits, etc and tons of grilled chicken. The portion was generous as well. Had breakfast here early on Saturday. We asked the waiter what he recommended. He informed us that the owner makes the biscuits and Hollandaise sauce every morning. So, we got steak and eggs and eggs Benedict with biscuits and sauce. Service was very good. The food was great! I love these kind of unassuming places. Hole in the wall? Check. Good people? Check. I've been here about 3 times and this place is really great. The biscuits and gravy are the best I've had in Simi. They're fresh tasting and delicious. The service is always great and friendly. It's really small so on the weekend mornings sometimes there is a wait. I heard they're expanding to the building next door so that should be great. The wife, daughter and I tried Ferretiz for the first time and it was great! We were immediately greeted and we decided to sit inside the restaurant. They had about six tables outside that were occupied. The drinks came quickly but it took about 10 minutes before our order was taken and about 15 minutes until our food arrived. It was kind of busy but the wait staff were are very friendly. Once to food arrived we were quick to gobble it all up! I had the country fried steak with scrambled eggs, hash browns and sourdough toast and it was very delicious! The wife and daughter each got the scrambled eggs, bacon, and French toast and a fruit bowl and they each said it was wonderful as well. Other than a bit of a wait, this is a great place for breakfast and we will be back for sure. read more

Been here several times now after finding good reviews on yelp a couple weeks ago Food has been very good - always hot and fresh. We tried their chicken fried steak, Florentine omelet, machaca plate, pancakes for the kids and more. Never a complaint! The restaurant is small and tight and seems to die down at lunch. There rush on the weekend is earlier in the morning. We will keep coming back!!! Never had a bad meal. Owner comers around and checks on his guests. That is a sign of a good restaurant. read more

Very good first breakfast we tried here! The chef brought us a biscuit with gravy to try and I must say, although I have never liked biscuits and gravy at most restaurants - too heavy, too white, the gravy tastes like glue or paste - and I wasn't going to even try it but he talked it up and oh wow! Tasted the bacon, cream, light gravy and the biscuit was good. I ordered the Eggs Benedict on corned beef hash and, as always when eating this dish out, asked for the Hollandaise on the side! Picky, right? That's because usually restaurants serve thick, white, flour-y hollandaise and smother the entire plate with it! I make hollandaise at home and believe me it is not white! It's yellow from real egg yolks and butter and medium thickness just enough to stick on the back of a spoon. Well, there was a delay with my order because they started to put the sauce on it and he caught it and immediately told me they would redo it. Now I was feeling like a really picky eater but when my dish came out the hollandaise was yellow, not too thick, on the side and just the right amount. And the hash was crispy on the edges and delicious! So good, we are definitely going back! He told us they also own the Burger Express a couple doors down and when the restaurant that used to be at this location closed they bought it and used it for catering only for 2 years. They opened for meals and apparently are packed on Sundays. We were there early - the first ones in a rainy day - and they were still setting up. Try it! read more
