    Ensenada Fish Taco Special
    Anna H.

Our party of 3 all ordered the fish taco plate that comes with two fish tacos, rice, beans and salad. Perhaps it was an off day for them but I felt like the fish tacos were not freshly fried nor did it come out piping out like most do after being just battered and fried. The rice was parboiled so it tasted hard. The beans appeared like they were just out of a can and then salted. The salad had a salsa that on it that was a bit too spicy for me. Since we don't like to waste food, we all just ate the tacos as they were still edible. As for the rest, we took them home. I reheated the whole thing on stovetop until the rice and beans softened, then cracked a couple of eggs on top and WOW, brand new dish and enough for two meals! Like I said, maybe it was an off day, but at least the leftovers made up for it.

This is where the prices have been posted in Large font for the past 15 plus years. The combo is there but the prices are hidden

Nothing went well. I only gave five stars so this can't show up at the top. The prices were $12 for the lunch special but they secretly changed the prices and did not post them where it should be. Feels like a bait and switch to me. I think instead of charging their loyal customers top price, they should keep the cost low so they can have volume. But, hey who am I. I've only been coming to this location since 2005. I asked them why they didn't post the price up on the board and they said because it's right down here in the fine print and they pointed to the second picture that I posted. ‍‍‍ bad for business

I visited Señor Fish and had the shrimp quesadillas and shrimp tacos. The food was excellent--the shrimp tasted fresh and flavorful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior was nice, and the service was friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, a great experience

I grew up with one of these a few miles away, it was rare for me to be able to eat it, since I didn't have a car. My high school friends always looked forward to the burritos here saying it's so bomb. I always think of the past whenever I eat here. Carne Asada Burrito (4/5) This is a standard setting burrito, it is what I think authentic burritos should taste like. The meat is salty, the meat tastes of roasted chili peppers that is still doing it's capsaicin thing, and there are hints that raw onions were used, maybe cilantro, some lime, beans. I know it's subjective since burritos is wildly common in LA. Let's say Sonora Town is a 5 and Del Taco is a 3, this would be a solid 4. Complimentary salsas: Tomato (2/5) El Pollo loco makes it better, I do recommend the Tito's Tacos salsa that's a solid 5, long line though. Black (4/5) I enjoyed the dark roasted pepper taste. I think it's Chipotle peppers? Green (5/5) I'm actually a fan of the sourness and spiciness of this salsa, it's very sharp, like lemon and lime sharp. This place is pretty big and you can always find about 10/20 people here around lunch time, it's worth stopping by if you magically found parking in DTLA and also are nearby.

A fellow Yelp Elite had great things to say about the fish tacos! Taco Tuesday! I ordered the Fish Tacos x 2 and the Asada Tacos. Fish Tacos $4.50 each Asada $5.00 each Parking was a little tricky but someone was leaving right in front of the restaurant and I was able to pull in. They have a large menu and also the taco special. I didn't feel like eating rice and beans so I opted not to get the Taco Special. The tacos were pretty good. I enjoyed my fish tacos with the sour cream and Pico de Gallo. I was able to split the fish in half and use the second taco tortilla to create another one. I paired the tacos with the spicy sauce. Not a bad Taco Spot.

    gross, old brown gauc. Lovely.

This place is usually pretty ok but for some reason they gave me some old guacamole with cold, stale chips. Usually the chips are cold and stale, but now the guac was brown and gross looking. Come on now, that's a Chipotle level mistake. Who thought this was ok to give to customers?

Had a bit of an issue with my order, but they quickly resolved it. And they followed up to make sure everything was to my liking..

After gym meal, stumbled across this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was nice, people were gathered around the tv watching the presidential debate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered my food to go, and the wait time was pretty normal. I ordered the salmon burger which came with fries and 3 sauces. Not sure what the sauces were but they were decent. Overall, this place wasn't bad; their breakfast looks good. Maybe i'll stop by again to try it.

Nice view looking at the second Trader Joe's in the world.

Good price. Big portion. Great taste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is a gem in a hidden city.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]From outside looks ugly, but inside, it has a great view of Trader Joe's.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You should try the garlic butter scallop. Mmm.... restaurant quality at a fast food price. Most dishes comes with salad, and generous sauces. The server was friendly. If you have eaten here, then you can consider yourself as a local South Pasadena.

The restaurant has a nice, natural light filled space, and though it was busy, it wasn't too loud. It worked out well to go with two people so we could try almost all the options... - Scallop aguachile, avocado, salsa macha verde: Came with two shells, each with a little scallop, avocado, zucchini, radish, cilantro. Nice and refreshing to start. - Strawberry and vanilla French toast fingers, pistachio marzipan: A very generous portion of French toast with strawberry jam and pistachio sauce. Nice and crunchy crust. It was an interesting contrast to the aguachile first course! - Crab cake eggs benny: Two poached eggs on crab cakes. This was good, nothing unexpected, though I was getting pretty full at this point. - Summer berries, Scottish shortbread, white chocolate mousseline: This was the only dish we were disappointed by. The shortbread was pretty bland and the texture was lacking crispness. - Profiteroles, vanilla ice cream, strawberry ice cream, hot fudge sauce: Simple dessert but put together well. We both also ordered Purple reign cocktails, which went well with brunch. Overall it ended up being quite a bit of food and a good value for two.

After researching and making the trip to Pasadena numerous times, I never discovered the Pez Coastal Kitchen. I was here for lunch and walked into a small but impressive space, elegantly decorated, with both a dining and bar area. My seating was in the latter, not on bar stools, but at a table for two, because I was dinning solo. For appetizers, I chose the scallop aguachile. There were two small portions, each in a plastic shell, sitting on a bed of ice. While I am not fond of aguachiles because of the general overdose of citrus in them, this one really surprised me. While there were only small pieces of scallop, it had an abundance of small cubed cucumber pieces that provided the nicest contrast of crunch, juice and texture. The citrus was mild and well balanced. A wonderful start. I selected the fried fish burger for my entree. The fish was mildly battered, yet lightly crisp, to highlight the big pieces of fresh, flaky and moist fish that were literally, falling off the burger. It was a good stack, with minimum lettuce, tomato and sauce, so as to not take it away from the star, the succulent, perfectly prepared, flavorful fish. The bun was also well crafted, nice and fluffy on the inside, not dry, with a buttery brown on the outside. Easily one of the best fish burgers I have had. For dessert (the third course), I had to have the profiteroles with ice cream. One was with vanilla, the other with strawberry. Both came topped with dark chocolate sauce, that had hardened by the time of eating. A superbly assembled concoction, that provided the crackle and exhilarating mouth feel. I cannot remember the last time where at a Dine LA restaurant, all three lunch courses were so well presented and satisfying. One was better than the other. Overall, it was worth the drive, for an extraordinary dining experience.

The pan con tomate truly felt like a masterpiece. It's doused with enough olive oil and tomatoes where the bread is still crunchy and doesn't get soggy at all. The octopus also really stood out to me for its texture. The tartufo dessert was delightful as well, as the flavor from the hazelnut chocolate really shone through. On my second visit, I repurchased the pan con tomate because I loved it so much, and got the rigatoni and New Zealand rack of lamb. This is some of the best lamb I've ever had. It was cooked to be perfectly tender and it tasted amazing. I don't normally go out of my way to get lamb, but for this I would. As for the rigatoni, I thought this was too heavy for my liking. It reminded me a little of Mac and cheese. I think this is better shared rather than served as an individual main course. I would have liked if this had more ham in it. The tonkotsu ramen was delicious although a bit on the sweeter side - the egg was very well marinated and the chashu generous and flavorful. - Tokyo set with tuna don (5/5): Also came with soba noodles, miso soup, and tsukemono. The tuna don had a generous portion of tuna and rice. It tasted fresh and was a simple and well executed dish that satisfies your cravings. The soba noodles were a surprise to me. I didn't expect the soba noodles to be in a sauce with a string sesame oil consistency and taste. It was refreshing yet a bit heavier as a result. I also love the variety of fish provided with it. Overall (5/5): Disclaimer - we came here late April. But this is a gem in Pasadena that we wished we visited sooner! The lunch deals have very generous portions for the price and we were super stuffed after. We also were quite impressed with the execution of the tsukemono which looked like canned vegetables mixed with mushrooms that were pickled together for an unexpectedly rich flavor. The vibes of the establishment are modern and tasteful, and we really liked how spacious it was. Service was also solid. Overall we hope to be back to further explore the menu!
