The super sweet and savory tocino went so well with the guac, and it all felt like one really cohesive bite after another. I also thought it was reasonable portions (albeit on the heavier, more oily side) and filled me right up. Before hitting the Mission District, I watched Best in Chow (S1E6) and saw the Barnyard Burrito--a massive collaboration with SF artist Jeremy Fish packing five different proteins, French fries, and a fried egg, with cheese, sour cream, pico, and guac. I ordered mine without tofu (strictly because tofus aren't alive). It was kinda expensive, but also tasty and huge--I ate half for lunch and half for dinner. I really got my fill-apino. Notes: Next time, I'd stick to just the pork tocino; with five meats, the individual flavors get a bit lost. The lime salsa is great. My wife ordered hers "spicy" (on a scale of mild to hella spicy) but couldn't detect any heat at all. Though they have seating in the front on the street and inside the shop, I enjoyed the back patio with bold, festive murals, including one showing their food truck origins and an Anthony Boardain quote. We stopped by Señor Sisig during Porchfest, wading through the happy crowd bobbing along to the music to get inside. Once in, we placed our order via the handy kiosk screen (though they also had real people to order from at a real cash register if that's your preference) and our food was out within ten minutes, served with a smile and kind service from the staff. Amazing, considering how packed and busy and hectic the event outside was. I got the California Sisig Burrito with tocino (this delicious sweet and savory cured pork), adding a fried egg to it. It's my go-to, having tried the other burritos and personally finding it to be the tastiest. So many flavors, so many textures, so incredibly yum. Will definitely be back to this location! read more

We ended up with their classic pork burrito and one with the sweet pork and a fried egg and both were delicious as usual. Two burritos plus a tip ran us over $40 so let's hear it for rising food costs and inflation plus they didn't seem as packed with the sweet pork that we have had in past but it was still tasty. Not sure over $20 for a burrito is something I'll stop in for often esp without any chips or anything accompanying them but a nice option compared to the usual Mexican fare in the mission. We were in the neighborhood seeking something quick and filling, fortunately this spot was close by. We ordered as soon as we walked in on the self service kiosk. They had a ton of options, but I landed on chicken sisig crunch a dilla. It was a savory and crispy quesadilla resembling an elevated Taco Bell crunch wrap. It came with a spicy nacho cheese and green salsa on the side. The price was steep, but worth the serving portion and flavor. Once we ordered we waited about 15 minutes for our food to be ready. Horrendous, just horrendous. Even if other people want to blow smoke up Señor Sisig's ass because they don't have standards, I won't. What a disappointing fall from grace ever since the days of being a food truck that visited SFSU. Look, I get that things won't be the same price as they were ten years ago but if you're gonna charge your burritos like two or three times the price of what they were back then, I think the bare minimum I should get back is two or three times the quality. These burritos are tiny as all hell for more than $16 each. Most egregiously, there's more TOMATOES than protein. So not only are you ripping me off, you're actively stiffing me on top of it. Don't insult my intelligence. I always had a sneaking bad feeling when I heard Señor Sisig opened actual physical storefronts. I always suspected they would take a dip in quality because that's how it always happens when a business becomes booming. On a personal level, good for them. It was well deserved after how much I loved them in college. However, in execution it sucks on every imaginable level. While we were in the city for an SF weekend to visit Dolores Park with the kiddo chasing the Bay Area sunshine, we stopped by the Señor Sisig location off Valencia to grab a few things to-go before heading over. We ordered a plain cheese quesadilla for the kiddo and my personal favorite, the Sisig Crunch-a-dilla. It's basically an adult, elevated Crunchwrap. Simply perfection. The wrap is served with a side of their spicy nacho cheese sauce and one free salsa (tomatillo or habanero). To be honest, I could pour that cheese sauce over anything :)) This location has a kiosk to order from or the counter with a person, and a small back seating area. This location also has beer/wine, other kiddo options, vegan options, bowls, salads, and their traditional taco & burritos. Would love to try the California Sisig Burrito or Tosilog Burrito (Filipino sweet pork served with adobo garlic rice, sliced tomatoes & a fried egg). The Tosilog also comes with a side of vinegar. Tried Senior Sisig on Mission and overall had a good experience with a few standout items. The mangonada drink was really good, and the calamansi ginger lemonade was super flavorful and refreshing. I've seen this restaurant recently on DoorDash and today when I was down in the mission, I walked by it. I was having dinner later, so I just got a snack. I really liked that they took the time to explain the menu to me and all the different options, including a lot of vegan ones I only ordered a snack of a child's bowl with the pork on it. Came on a Sunday for lunch right and managed to get seats in the back area before it got super busy. I ordered the ube horchata and tosilog burrito. I was really excited to try it since there's a lack of Filipino food in my city, and I was not disappointed. The flavors were fresh and definitely hit the spot. As for the space, you order at the counter up front and you can grab a seat in the covered patio in the back. There's a good amount of seating but I definitely wouldn't recommend it for groups of more than four people. I tried calling and they don't answer the phones, even during business hours like they say. I'd kinda understand if they were busy, but I was actually the only one there. Definitely buffer some extra time to park. The area has a nice vibe with plenty of nearby shops to wander through if you're waiting. Here's what I ordered: Senior Sisig Bowl + Tocino ($16.54) - 7/10 - Tasty overall but the tocino (sweet pork) leaned a little too sweet for me. Sisig Taco + Pork ($6.83) - 7/10 - Packed with flavor and fillings. Served on two tortillas. It's definitely on the pricier side for a single taco but worth trying at least once. Sisig Salad ($15.23) - 5/10 - Pretty plain for my taste. I'd skip this one unless you're here for a lighter or healthier option. Crispy Sinigang Wings ($25.67) - 7/10 - Crispy, flavorful and the tamarind sauce was absolutely delicious! It cuts through the richness of the fried chicken and tied everything together. Visiting San Francisco this weekend with some friends and they suggested we should get Señor Sisig. I've had it once when they were at a Local Kitchens store, other than that this was my first time having it at one of their restaurants in the City. I ordered a California Burrito with tocino, and my friends ordered a tocino burrito & tocino bowl. Food came out super quick for the amount of people that were also waiting. We sat in their inside-patio with lively music playing in their speakers. My friend asked for his burrito to be cut in half but they must've forgot and didn't cut it which we ended up doing ourselves. The California Sisig Burrito ($16.75) was a good size and the sauces that came with it were fresh and decently spicy. I wish the meat was a bit more sour and smokey to give it that sisig flavor, so it was more of a normal burrito to me. However, it definitely satisfied the savory craving I was having. TLDR: I am VERY torn between giving 3 and 4 stars; I've hemmed and hawed on my rating for way too long, and am landing on 4 stars for the sake of nostalgia, belief in the product/people behind it, and hope that my third (future) experience will be closer to my second, not first Senor Sisig experience. Longer: I've always been curious to try Senor Sisig since I first heard about their food truck back backkkkk in the day. At the time, I was living in Oakland and I'm not a burrito fan, so I never made the effort to get into the City to hunt down the truck. In between 2013 and 2018, I was living in Seattle and made a Filipino bestie; I've spent a fair amount of time with her family enjoying their amazing cooking, calling her brother "kuya" and sister "ate". Given those experiences, I was all the more interested to try SS when I got my booty back to SF in 2018. Being that I'm still not a burrito fan, it wasn't until ~6 months ago that I had my first SS experience when my boyfriend and I were in the area needing a quick, warm, hearty meal on the later side of "dinner" hours (esp in this city). It had been a while since my boyfriend had last eaten SS and we were both starving, so our judgment was likely clouded. Maybe we happened to catch the crew on an off day, too, but even so, here are a few things we will never do again when ordering Senor Sisig: 1. lettuce 2. straying from the classic (burrito) 3. taking the food to go First and foremost: lettuce doesn't belong in a burrito, fusion or not. I couldn't tell you if it was iceberg or romaine lettuce because it was just that lifeless/wilty/indiscernible by the time we got home (less than 10 min drive). Unless SS has a different spring green mix for bowls, I would pass on lettuce in a bowl because regardless of the type of lettuce, it seems to me lettuce isn't stored in cool enough temps to be crispy at any point, even if consuming burrito/bowl at time of preparation. Also, what's the point of eating lettuce with next to no nutritional value? I'd definitely be more keen to try a bowl if I could have a spinach or red lettuce base (so much local veggie bounty around us!) 2. I should know better by now when first trying a "well known" food to have the item they are most known for. Instead, on my first visit, the starvation took over and we decided to share one Sisig Crunch-a-dilla and an order of Sisig Fries. The Crunch-a-dilla was poorly put together, proportions seemed off (like, WAY too much sour cream, barely any other sauces/flavors to decipher). After a few bites, I was over it. The fries were not what I would call shoestring, more like "homestyle" to me (thicker, dense, meh), which leads into #3... 3. when are fries to go, eaten 10+ min after preparation, a good idea? Never. Never never never! And that was our fault for making that shortsighted decision. Still, we've gotten food to go from other establishments who package items like fried chicken and fries in vetilated boxes, ensuring the structure of the food is maintained in transport. The Sisig Fries were in a closed box and the steam quickly made it all blah (I opened to try in car). Once home, I had two more bites before leaving the rest for my boyfriend to garbage-dispose. ONE thing we will forever love: the Pandan Iced Tea, seriously the one saving grace that gave me hope that my first experience was an off day for SS. Another positive about this location: a few bar stools inside, plus a fair amount of parklet space to pull up and enjoy your food right then and there (the only way to do it). Fast forward to my second SS experience, at least four months after the first: Out and about on a Saturday, were faced with starvation OR Senor Sisig (friends decided that was the stop for food, take it or leave it). We revamped our order, taking most of our recent learnings to heart. BF and I shared THE classic Senor Sisig Burrito, but forgot to say no lettuce -- massive regret LOL *sob emoji* it seriously detracts from the flavor. Thankfully, despite the meh lettuce, we got lovely, strong flavors from the the meat and salsa. Be sure to ask them to cut your burrito in half and wrap separately if you plan to share -- makes it a little easier, especially if on the go. My second visit left me with a happy taste buds and full-but-not-overly-stuffed belly, faith restored that the hype isn't just hype, you just gotta stick with the classics and/or be able/willing to consume immediately if straying. read more

Menu was not too overwhelming, the decor was very Bay-Area inspired, lots of indoor/outdoor seating (by city standards), and staff was friendly and quick. The food was really good for the price - the ube horchata was $5, and the sisig fries came with a protein choice. I couldn't finish the bowl by myself, so I easily saved it for my lunch the next day. Haven't had a conversation with SS. I know the ingredients changed. Use to be one of my favs. People who haven't eaten SS for a while won't notice the change. Can I say I really loved this place? This was my first time stopping here. You can order at the front or by the self checkout kiosk. I got the bowl and was surprised to see a vegan chicken option instead of the tofu. Damn, it was so good. I enjoyed every bit of it. One of my go-to places to take people when they visit SF! They're very fast with orders, I got my burrito in about 5 minutes. There's a cute patio seating area in the back with beautiful murals.
