Service was terrible, Server only came to our take order, drop food and drinks, and give check. As a seabrook local this is disappointing.

I've heard for years that this is a wonderful spot in Seabrook, but I had not been enthusiastic about stopping just because the pictures from the outside and the inside didn't do it justice. This is a reminder not to judge a book by its cover! When we arrived, there was a waitlist, and the place was jampacked with locals. We waited for about 25 minutes before being seated, that's not bad. It felt like a typical diner, but hidden around the corner was a full bar and sports bar type room, as well as an outside patio. The coffee was simple and good, no lattes or frappes, just good brew. I ordered the Egg Sandwich and it was a power punch of flavor! Michelle ordered the smoked salmon & bagel, it too was perfect. The service was fast and friendly, we will be returning and trying lunch or dinner sometime soon. I can't believe we've overlooked this spot for so long. That won't happen again. read more

We have been dining here for more than 30 years and they never disappoint us! Breakfast is so good! The prime rib dinner is worth waiting for, and dessert is just yummy! Keep in mind we have to drive over 70 miles to get here, but every bite makes the drive worthwhile! Great french dip, fresh french fries! Delicious Mac & Cheese!!!! Best Mac & Cheese ever! ***Wings did arrive cold to the table tho. Carrot cake was ok... too expensive for the quality(maybe the baker who made this batch wasn't fully experienced on the icing/ & cake oil mix)but it did taste a lot like oil, the icing was a bit hard, so tasted like straight powder sugar, some water and just a tad of cream cheese in the mix, instead of a creamy homemade cream cheese icing. I decided to come to the classic café because it was one of Seabrooks original restaurants. Classic café has daily specials that range around the $10-$12 price range which makes it one of my favorite spots. I typically get the heart salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Came here this morning before 10 and did not have to wait for a table. We've driven by here around 11:30 on a previous Sunday and it was Packed and had a long line. Glad we got to try it today. Highly recommend going earlier in the day. Quick and friendly service. I had the egg sandwich which was delicious- eggs with jalapeño maple bacon and spring mix on Texas toast and house fries on the side. So good! The food was fine, classic diner cuisine (pardon the pun) but what happened after, soured any chance of me ever going back, nor telling my clients to give them a try. They double charged my bill as well as another charge which I didn't make... 3 charges? I called the day of, asking what happened. Computer glitch... of course. They said it would drop off. Ok I waited... (a few days pass) just to see that my card was charged for all of them. I called again... they sent a refund... that disappeared! Computer glitch... again! Must be my luck... I literally had to go in, personally to see what they could do after all my time spent trying to get my money back because of a computer glitch. I guess the owner decided to just pay me back. Now this whole time I kept hearing I'm sorry, and we will take care of u... all the while I was waiting to see what they would do to take care of me... all I got was... here boy, there's your money stop bother us, that's how it felt. I've been in hospitality for a long time, and I felt like they could have done better. My opinion, Offer me something for my time and money wasted, something to show u were going to take care of me. but all i got were words... well, I didn't feel taken care of, and if this is how they're going to start with a first time customer, there won't be a second time. Don't worry classic cafe, this won't change ppls perspectives of you, nor do i want it to. I've been here a few times for breakfast and had 3-3.5 star experiences. This past Sunday morning, I had a 1 star experience, so my rating here is generous. First, I'm not sure who gets to choose the restaurant soundtrack, but -- despite my rock & roll roots -- the last thing I want to listen to at the crack of dawn is Black Sabbath. Fortunately, the next tune was by Jackson Browne, but the damage had been done. The good: This place is locally owned. The menu is diverse. The egg sandwich here was phenomenal the two times that I've ordered it. The meh: Service has always been ok (not great) here. Nothing special. Atmosphere can be dank on a sticky morning. Airflow here feels the same as what you might find in a greenhouse. Not a deal-breaker. In fact, it's sort of interesting. The bad: Inconsistency. This past Sunday, my eggs were rubbery. The sausage was fine. The pancakes reminded me of the stuff served in my elementary school cafeteria -- tough and nary a 'cake' consistency. Previously, I've had eggs here that were as smooth as velvet. The bottom line: I would much prefer to patronize a locally-owned joint, but my mixed experiences here make me want to go to IHOP, where there is a company standard and a soundtrack designed for breakfast patrons. I met 4 girlfriends from LA. for a long girls weekend trip. Found this cafe on Yelp. Pics of food looked good and so did the menu. We were not disappointed. Doesn't look like much when passing by and we had not noticed this place before on our trips here staying on Clear Lake. We met for late lunch at 1:00pm. The service was great. Friendly server who took very good care of us. We all had different choices from shrimp, catfish, red snapper soup of day, salads and hamburger, fries etc. Everyone was happy with their choices and all prepared well. No one rushed us through our meal. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and appetizers taking our time just to get caught up with each other before our main meal. Portions were enormous so we had to-go bags for another meal for dinner. Will definitely return. read more

One of our favorites in Seabrook! Quaint old-school styled Cafe that serves an interesting variety of dishes. Morning, lunch, or dinner, you can't go wrong with anything you get. For the morning, my favorites are the Louisiana Cajun Benedict (A Cajun twist to a brunch favorite) served with hash potatoes and the frozen screwdriver. I've never tried vodka in the AM, but if you're a fan of mimosas, this is a hit! For lunch or dinner, I usually get the southern fried steak/chicken which comes with 2 sides and bread. read more

Doesnt look like much from the outside. Has a comfortable laid back environment. There is a dock if you want to pull up in your boat. I have had other meals here and all have been good quality, but this review is for the shrimp! I ordered the 9 fried gulf shrimp platter and they are amazing. They were a good size and I loved the batter texture. Not greasy or oily, just right. They were very accomodating to switching my fries for some steamed broccoli. Been coming here for several years, service is pretty consistant and wait staff is always friendly even at peak times. Decided to post this review because I recently went to another very popular posh overrated seafood place in the area and the shrimp was average, over priced and super oily, also had a weird after taste. This place is a travesty. My gf and I were seated where we informed the waitress this was our first time. Took our order delivered our OJ (which was gross) and coffee. An entire hour passes, yes 60 minutes and the server not once brings around a pot of coffee. Patrons that arrived half an hour after us were served food before us and even after asking for more hot coffee she act like we are bothering her. Never again. Sad to say I moved to Seabrook and this place is right down the road from me. You'll never see a penny of my money. Continue to cater to the old people in the area because your service is horrendous. Just ordered the 8oz Prime rib dinner special, with a side of grilled shrimp (included). No joke, the cook on the shrimp was absolutely perfect. Plump, not over cooked, literally textbook perfect. Off the busy NASA Road 1 you'll find this delightful little place. Despite the small size there was a generous amount of space between the tables and it had a neat retro 50s look on the outside and inside! The menu is very colorful and a little tricky to read but it has a very extensive menu with a large variety of sandwiches and southern style foods. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was terrific! The fries were pre salted and peppered to a perfect amount and the burger had been cut in half which made it a lot less messy to eat! Just had dinner there tonight. Found them in a maps search. I had the shrimp basket dinner with fries and okra. It was the best cooked fresh shrimp I've ever had, fries and okra were good. My wife had the French dip. She's a picky eater and didn't like it. The aux jus was flavorful but a little salty, the meat had good flavor and the bun was great. I tried it and the flavor was there. When she complained to the waiter they didn't charge her for her meal. They offered to make her something else too but she didn't want anything else. The service was great and the customer service when she didn't like what she ordered was exceptional. If you are in the area you should definitely stop in and have a great meal. read more

My family has been going to Seabrook Classic Cafe regularly for many years. It's in a hard-to-reach spot down a step ramp and has rather tight (but not impossible) parking. Sometimes you will find a shortage of spaces but we've usually had good luck. Inside, the nautical theme is rather run-of-the-mill but cozy and comfortable whether you have two or ten in your party (more than that may require some advanced planning). The back of the establishment appears to be more of a bar and I've never sat back there. The place in general is bright with lots of windows and good lighting. Wait times, if any, are typically short even when they're busy. Staff are friendly, professional and efficient. There's a good sample of seafood, salads, sandwiches and burgers but the selection is t overwhelming. I've had many items on the menu and most always leave satisfied and pleased. Today there were six in our party and the host quickly pulled two tables together to accommodate us. The waitress was right behind to get drink orders started. We ordered the following: Cheeseburger Slider with Sweet Potato Fries, Salad, Fried Seafood platter (with crispy fried oysters!), Clam Chowder & Burger, and Jumbo Shrimp (9 fried) platter with Coleslaw & Fries. Busy busy busy and so so yummy ! Worth the 20-30 minute wait ! Classic cafe is right on the water and the place to be for breakfast/brunch! We showed up on a chilly Saturday morning a couple weeks ago and the parking lot was packed and so was the cafe. There was a bit of a wait and the front quarters of the cafe were really cramped, so we braved the weather and walked around the yachts for sale while we waited. Once we were sat, the table was a little cramped but we were just a lil 2 top seated next to large brunch party, no biggie. Our server was Shelby (if I remember correctly) and she was a sweetheart. She apologized for taking a little longer to get over to us , but the way that place was jumping, we had no problem. Shelby took great care of us and had a great personality! Coffee was delicious and we started with the beignets... wow! They were perfection, warm and doughy with just the right amount of sugar and honey. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and a half "garbage plate". Both were ginormous portions and easily shareable. The Garbage plate was pretty much everything but the kitchen sink and a must try, but you can still have some to take home with the half portion. The egg/breakfast sandwich was HUGE too!
