The technicians that came were great. This review is not about then. The scheduling service for Sears gets less than 1 star. Pre-programmed AI assistants seemed to be caught in a loop asking the same wrong questions so I couldn't get to the point. My advice: have real people in your call centers so your customers can get the help they need and not just what a computer has been pre-programmed to say they need. read more

All money due upfront with part having to be ordered but not certain how long it would take to arrive and then make another appointment to install. However the only thing I got was an email stating "we missed you" and a photo of the gate (with no type of notice-even though I was waiting). Part was ordered. 1 week later the next tech comes in and installs the brand new board incorrectly and fries it. another board ordered.... 2 weeks later Sears just blows off my appointment from 8am to 12pm and the tech apparently just decided to reschedule it. over 4 hours of being on the phone they promise a tech will still be coming out. it's now after 11pm and they just rescheduled me 3 days out without a phone call or consulting. it's taking over a month to get my refrigerator repaired. absolutely horrible customer service. Very happy with Larry our technician. Sears was very responsive and kept me up to date on when my technician would be at my house. Via text and email. I will use them again. I don't have a home warranty. My washer start button wasn't working. An LG that we purchased in 2022. It was a sensor that went out. Ended up paying a little over 300$ for the new button and service call. The service call was $109 that went toward the expense of fixing the washer. Some places I called; had a service fee that was not applied to the cost to fix it. read more

Terrible experience without any resolution- after two weeks of my appointment being scheduled and not having air condition for my 14month old, the tech left without discussing anything with my wife, only sending me a text saying he couldn't fix it. upon getting him, I found my thermostat removed and wires exposed. You guys ask me to pay $290 to fix this unit and ended up not fixing it ! Took the new parts and left without calling the owner to address the issue! This claim from choice home warranty has been delayed for over 6 months & everytime Sears order parts it does not work as the parts don't make the equipment work. This is the second refrigerator you do this kind of trick on the consumer thru home warranty. Either your guys are not trained what parts to order or it's just a delay act to make us get tired of waiting and buy a new unit but you still ask us to pay for parts in advance !! Looking at responses to all the negatIve comments, the wording is identical. Sorry for your experience, blah, blah. the only thing different is the name of the person they are responding to. I imagine these responses are all AI generated. Then they tell me to call the customer service number (I have tried multiple times- AI, no human, worthless) or go to the website. I tried this several times with no help or response. Geez! You have my phone # call me! One interesting thing I noticed was a note where one customer was out $600 already, angry, but the AI response to her was "to go to the transformco.com website". When you go there, they are a shopping platform for multiple retailers, including Sears. You can read more about Transformco there. A little more digging... "Sears is not financially sound. The company has been in a state of decline for years, struggling with declining sales, mounting debt, and numerous store closures. Sears filed for bankruptcy in 2018 and has since undergone significant restructuring, including the sale of assets and further store closures." It looks like they sold the home repair (and the right to use the Sears name, I assume) to Transformco. They are clearly horrible at customer service. I remember I had Sears home repair out to repair a refrigerator a few years ago. They said the compressor is shot, over $600 to fix (similar new refrigerator would be about $1000). They then went "hard sell" into trying to sell me an "appliance warranty" for $450. I told them politely to get out of my house. My Advice - STAY AWAY!. My oven would not heat. It was determined that both elements needed to be replaced. You sent me the elements. This technician came today to install them. He put them in and assured me that they were working, and left quickly. I turned the oven on and the top element started heating right away. The bottom element did not heat and after leaving the oven on for 2 HOURS, the bottom element was still not hot. The light on the front of the door never turned off. read more
