Had difficulty with their app and had no success talking to a representative. Am seriously thinking of cancelling my contract.

I hesitated purchasing a Sears Kenmore refrigerator but liked the one I saw. I questioned the sales rep about ability to service it because Sears was going through bankruptcy. He responded with a Sears Warranty Agreement, they would HAVE to maintain it regardless. So I went ahead and got the frig and the extended warranty. Scheduled the refrigerator maintenance appt back in April or May and was told August was the earliest available date. Only repairs had top priority due to lack of technicians (Cuz if Covid). Was also told if I wanted an earlier date I would have to continually call to check if any was available... So I left the appt 'as is.' Day of appt FINALLY arrived. Technician showed up, said he wasn't certified for refrigerators and he'd call his Mgr. After a while on the phone he drove away. No one called me back. I checked the status of my appt online and it said there was no record of my order... I had to chat with customer service to follow up. They showed my appt as cancelled... Rec'd a new appt next week. If I didn't have a 5 yr maintenance agreement and if this wasn't a Kenmore frig I'd take my business elsewhere. I will NOT purchase any appliances from Sears ever again, nor their maintenance. Their prices are NOT the best. Kenmore is no longer a dependable model. read more

My experience was very disappointing. The service rep was courteous but in the end very dismissive. He appeared to be only interested in selling me an extended warranty. When I explained that I needed time to review the estimate the tech said I had to decide right away. I declined however was still charged the $114 for nothing but aggravation. The Technician was professional and on time. He was not knowledgeable of Sears internally processes and could not advise me on what to do to resolve my issue. Getting warranty parts serviced through Sears is a nightmare. I have a LG unit and I was not successful with greeting the part serviced through Sears. I was transferred 9 times with the LG rep on the phone and was unable to get basic information to complete the process. LG could have made the process easier as well but that is for another review. The people in the Sears call center were loud, laughing , and rude. Some were better trained than others. As of today I have not received a response from Sears regarding my outstanding repair request LOL. I ended up ordering a new refrigerator because the charge to fix the unit without the warranty coverage was the price of a new one. I was trying to be environmentally responsible by fixing the old unit but perhaps next time. read more

Jeremy and Chad was great. The low star rating however was due to the other Technician Taylor who was scheduled to come out on Feb 5, 2024 and was a no show, no call. I waited from 8-5, I even got a text saying that service was scheduled that day. I thought maybe Feb 6, same thing nothing! I tried calling customer service the both days but just got the run around, passing me from one department to the next and answering the same questions with no success. VERY FRUSTRATING! No human to talk to. A week later I got a text saying my appointment was reschedule to Feb 26. This is the worse service I have ever encountered! I can understand if this was a free service, but it's not, we are paying customers. I'm changing to another appliance repair company where I can get GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! This company really don't care as I read the other complaints knowing I wasn't the only one this has happened to. There were too many dissatisfied customers, what does that tell you? Things have changed not for the better, I've been with Sears for a decade, it's just sad to see this company go down hill. Terrible! Worst repair service ever. I'm a property manager and the owner of a house we manage had Sears home warranty to cover appliances in their home. We have had multiple repairs dinne and all of them have been terrible and take for ever to complete. Our latest one is a washing machine that has been broken for almost 3 months, they keep throwing parts at it and still doesn't work. Everyone they order a part, it takes weeks to come in, then it doesn't fix it. The washer is still broke and the tenants have already spent hundred of dollars at the laundromat, which will need to be reimbursed by the owner. They could have bought a new one. Simply the worst service ever. We made an appointment in November to diagnose a washing machine that started making loud noises when in use. The appointment time is always 8am-5pm, meaning you can't plan to do anything else that day. The day of the appointment, we received notice around mid-morning that our appt was cancelled and we'd have to reschedule. Disappointing but not a big deal. We rescheduled for a week later and the technician was very communicative, calling in the morning to give us a narrower window during which to expect him. Diagnosis was done and the technician said a couple parts were needed which would have to be ordered. We paid a little over $550 and the parts arrived on 12/6. We scheduled the repair for just after Christmas and once again, the appointment was cancelled same day. We then rescheduled for early January and on the day of, we wondered why we hadn't heard anything from a technician. No text, no call, nada. We checked email around noon and find an email saying the appt was cancelled yet again! This is now the 3rd we've experienced a same day cancellation! Communication on all days was inconsistent. The first time, we got a text notifying us of the cancellation and I received appt confirmations via text prior to all appt dates. However, the 3rd time they cancelled, we got only an email and had already wasted another half day waiting around. So we reschedule again for late Jan. Technician came and installed the parts. We were thrilled to finally have the work done. But when we ran the washer, it made the same exact noise as before. I called the technician back and let him know we had a problem and he said he'd get back to me but never did. I had to call to reschedule on my own for the followup. Well today the original technician came and found that there is oil leakage in the washer and basically the motor needs to be replaced which would cost as much as a new washer. But the catch is that there is no refund or credit or anything that can be done at all to compensate me for the parts we purchased bc they were installed and therefore non-refundable. It took us 3 months plus $550 and 6 wasted days to find out we need a new washer. To top things off, I can even find a way to reach anyone to complain about this. Everything is automated and/or online and they say they recently updated their menu options so whereas I was able to get a real person on the phone last month, I wasn't able to today. Now we know why Sears has and is going out of business across the nation. We will never use them again. read more

I will be returning here for my appliance and bed needs. They also have a limited amount of exercise equipment basic treadmill and stationary bike. Great experiences overall! Since then Management has been giving us the run a round by keep on telling us that they need 2 days to see what is going on. It has been 3 weeks of this horrible service. What a very disappointing service by SEARS! We paid for the sears appliance warranty every month. 2 days ago, our refrigerator temperature wasn't as cold. So I called and made an appointment to have it repaired. The time was set between 1 & 5 pm. So I rearranged my schedule to stay home and wait for the repairman. By 4, I called and was informed that they would call the service department and the repairman had until 5 pm. No worries. But no show! Not even a phone call. So I called again at 5:30pm and the lady said that I had to wait 2 weeks or try to find services and I would get reimbursed later. I was mad that I paid for Sears services every month and it turns out that I had to do their work! Like my car insurance company, they help you that same day! Not 2 weeks later! "Sears Home Services" What a completely horrible experience trying to get our (Samsung) fridge repairs: First appointment ($203) was okay but resulted in the wrong parts being ordered Second appointment to install the (wrong) part was scheduled for more than one month later!! The food of course quickly was spoiled. So instead of waiting forever for the second visit, we hired a local firm (what a blessing!) who got our fridge up and running again. I initially waited 3 weeks for the repair appt for my broken ice maker. They fixed my ice maker on 1/26/17, telling me that it's a product design flaw in that the water ends up pooling in the back of the ice maker which then prevents the ice cubes from forming and being emptied into the receptacle. They told me that the ice maker would start making ice within 24 hours. The ice maker is still not making ice. I am giving a mediocre rating because of the fact that I now have to wait another 2 weeks for them to come out and repair the"repaired" ice maker again. I was given a link to my appt and I could check back periodically if they have any cancellations. I am overall pleased with Sears because they were able to repair the initial problem that i had with the ice maker and they offered to put my appliance under their warranty program. read more

I am reading all of the reviews and am having the same exact problem. Our refrigerator is giving us problems. Call the number and expect to wait forever. Try chatting with them online and you get the message "average wait time is 12 minutes". Guess what happens after 12 minutes - you get the following message: "We're sorry. All of our advisors are assisting other customers at the moment. Please try again later." When I finally was able to chat with a representative, Sebastian, guess what he told us to do. "Reset the refrigerator by unplugging it, waiting for 15 minutes then plugging it back in." In his words "I am confident that this will solve your problem." Well, this did NOT solve our problem and, once again, it's impossible to reach anyone because they are busy helping other customers. Writing this as I sit and wait in the 6th hour and COUNTING for the repairman to show up for our 4th service appointment in less than a month. We ordered service for our washer/dryer combo unit a few weeks ago and it was deemed a faulty fuse. Derek showed up, diagnosed the issue, and billed $350 for the fuse and diagnostic. After 2 loads of laundry, the unit failed again with the same heating element error code and a loud rumbling/clanking sound. Tech came back, admitted he may have overlooked replacing 2 screws that secure the drum in the unit, causing blower motor failure, 5 wiring harnesses frayed/detached, a ripped washer door boot, and missing microwave screw. Even after such significant damage due to dereliction of his "simple fuse" repair we now have a much more serious repair. Sears refused to replace unit, and ordered parts deemed to complete the repair. Parts have arrived after waiting another week, repair scheduled and arrival estimated between "1-5pm 03/09". It is now 730pm. No calls from technician, automated response from Sears online, no means of reaching out to technician, and still no show of tech. This is the worst service process on anything I have ever owned in my life. We have expressed concern about extent of damage caused by the inept repair, considering the extent of the internal electrical components being compromised, ripped, and exposed. We asked him NOT to order the parts; we were concerned about the safety of the appliance in our home and asked to speak with local management to discuss replacement options. The tech then put the parts were on order, which would only be considered a small consolation if the tech were to actually show up... or maybe call us back...? read more

Our front load washer sometimes does not spin all the water out of the clothes we wash. We noticed this when washing a heavy item like a large beach towel. So I decided to call for a repair appt. The service repairman came during the time frame and was very courteous. The repairman quickly identified our problem. It turns out you need to wash more than one item or the washer doesn't have anything to agitate against so it just flops around the drum. He did a preventive maintenance check and found our washer is working fine. What a relief. read more

Called Sears to service a Kenmore Elite (out of extended warranty) that was not cleaning properly. After a two week wait for the appointment, the technician spent no longer than six minutes in total to inform me that I needed a new pump and because of the placement of my unit, it would be cheaper to just buy a new one. I believe that advice cost me $99. Serendipitously, I was having a new AC installed and that technician overheard everything. Turns out he used to work for Servco. After poking around for five minutes, he pulled off some hose, basically snaked it and the line, and was done. He advised me to get new hoses for both the unit and some kind of sink drain that I didn't even new I had and some kind of new plumbing fixture but that it would work for now. It did, and my normal handy man will be installing new hosing next week. Sears Appliance was my father's "go-to" place. It will NOT be for me (or my eleven rental units) EVER AGAIN. I used Sears Appliance Repair to fix my washer, it was off balance. The technician showed up on time, was friendly, and changed out the part. Two weeks later my washer is still off balance, and now the water won't fill up completely. I was told the parts are warrantied for 90 days so I decided to call them to follow up on their repair since it was within the 90 days. I figured they could at least check why it's still vibrating. I scheduled the repair and they gave me an 8 - 12 time window for arrive. The night before my scheduled repair I receive an email that my technician was going to arrive a little earlier at 7:30am. I got excited. 7:30am came and no one arrived, and an hour went by, still no technician. Basically I watched the clock go from 7:30am to 12:30pm and no one arrived. I went into the chat feature 5 times and everyone I chatted with told me that my technician is on his way and that I was the only one scheduled on that day. They also told me they would ask the technician to give me a call and he never did. Technician is Brandon G. The people I chatted with told me they would escalate the situation to management and that someone would call me back and no one did. I found out from the 5th person I chatted with that when they escalate the situation it takes 24 to 48 hours for management to call back. It didn't matter because my technician never arrived that day, and instead they attempted to re-schedule my service the next day. I cancelled the service call instead, and it's been 3 days later and no one ever called me back to apologize for not showing up. I'm not sure who to blame, Sears or the technician. I don't know if the technician called in sick or Sears was just short staffed? Either way the experience was terrible, and my washer is still broken. We decided to buy a new washer. I would like Sears to compensate me for something but I don't believe they will. If they do I'll definitely change my review. read more

I honestly would give them zero stars. Gasket on a top freezer wasn't working. Called Sears for my mom to get it fixed. Keep in mind we bought a cheep old school fridge and was about $500. Diagnostic fee was $109. They wave the $109 fee if you get it fixed with them, but if you don't you pay the $109 diagnostic fee and your appliance it still broken. I wasn't expecting getting the gasket replaced would cost $479. So of course naturally we spend $109 for nothing but they ended up charging me $123.51? For GAS!!! $8-$9 for gas? 1 gallon doesn't cost that much and gas is high as ever not to mention I live less than 10 minutes away the guy came fast and in hawaii I don't see him driving 20-30 miles to get to me and this is totally messed up. A few months ago we had the dryer belt brake. I considered buying a new dryer - and washer - because I like the idea of a matching pair of the same age but the Sears repair guy came out and replaced the dryer belt and life was good again... for a while. Then the washer basket let loose. Again I called Sears. They came and fixed it for free. All we paid was the service call. I am deducting one star only because they showed up at 5:30 and were supposed to come between 1 and 5. But other than that I couldn't be happier. He told my sister the 25 year old washer /dryer whirlpool set we have is a " beast " and to keep fixing them as long as we could because they don't make them like that anymore. Worst service ever. I wish I could give zero stars. This business has no sense of urgency, no communication skills, and only cares about getting your money. I called on 11/8 to have my washer repaired. The tech came and determined that my washer needed a part replaced. He had to order the part and the soonest he could have it shipped was 12/1. If you have kids, you know that 3 weeks without a washer is a long time but it's the holiday season, shipping is delayed, we managed. On 12/1, no one called to confirm my appt so I called to find out if a repair man was still coming. I found out through the automated system online that yes a repair man was coming to the WRONG ADDRESS. I called to correct the address as soon as I found out. The repair man called to let me know he got the updated address and that he was on his way but he needed to make sure I had the part. I did NOT have the part because whoever took our address down had it mailed to the wrong house. Sears then told me that I had to call UPS to have the package redelivered. How is that my responsibility? I called anyway and UPS could not locate the package. Sears had to reorder the part and I had to wait AGAIN for the part to arrive prolonging my time with a broken washer. No one expedited anything despite my requests and complaints. The part finally arrived on 12/11 and the soonest they could get a tech to out to us was on 12/14. The tech "repaired" the washer. He corrected the original issue of it not draining water but now it makes a weird sound but I'm hesitant to call again since their customer service is so terrible. About 20 minutes after the repair man left, sears called to notify me that the tech wouldn't be able to make it to the scheduled appt due to a family emergency and we would have to reschedule our appointment. Then who was the guy at my house?? It was a hot confusing mess and still no one has apologized for the inconvenience they have caused us. All of it was through no fault of our own. Zero attempts were made for service recovery. I am very upset and disappointed with my experience with this company. read more

The Sears technician called and gave him correct address and tenant contact info. Technician tried to pass the job off to another technician. He called me back 10 minutes later and said he needed me to be there to give him a check or credit card. I couldn't do the credit card over the phone. News to me! I even online chatted with someone prior to and told them to invoice me or call me for a credit card. No mention of no phone payment. A repairman came that afternoon. He tried explaining the problem, it was something about debris clogging a line that the refrigerant needs to flow through. He was not able to explain WHY this happened. I may be wrong, but it's hard not to think it had something to do with the repairs 48 hours earlier. Exactly two weeks later, guess what? Same thing happened. Called Sears and it will be FOUR days before they can send anyone out. They have an emergency service list, & the soonest that one has space is - yep, Friday! (Really, how emergent is emergent if the service is not available for four days?) Could I be put on a list for cancellations? No, but I am welcome to check in on line to see if anything opens up. Truly, I don't know if the problems lie with Sears or with LG (sidebar, don't EVER purchase an LG appliance), but I am not happy. Initial review: My refrigerator died. I called several places. Sears was able to come the next day for diagnostics. The technician, Garrett, was great. He texted us before arrival. He quickly determined we needed a new compressor, and that it would be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. The next day he returned to do the repairs. He was prompt, professional, and personable. I am completely satisfied with the work that was done, and the service charge, which was the only thing not covered under the warranty. read more

have used Sears for years and never had issues before but my recent washer repair service was a joke. Repairman by the name of Raymond. We showed him video of the error code. He has the washer do the short 14 minute cycle and when nothing happened said that there was nothing found wrong with the machine. My granddaughter gave him a check for $114 diagnostic fee and he said my check was refused and then threatened to send me to collections which would affect my credit report since she didn't have a credit card to pay. Wouldn't take cash either. Husband came home to give him credit card payment and that very night got the exact same error code when we tried to use the washer. We have had a ridiculous experience with Sears for the past month. I always felt like Sears was reliable, professional and responsive, but not recently. It started with a technician coming to our house and diagnosed a problem with our refrigerator on 4/12/2021 and ordered parts that was needed to complete the repair. We waited for the parts to come and one part came after a week, but there was no ETA on the second part and we were not aware how many parts were being shipped to our house. An appointment was scheduled on 4/19/2021and we waited the entire 5 hour window and no called or gave us an update if the technician was still coming. We assumed no one was coming so we called the appointment center to see what happened to the technician and it was some international call center that had no idea what was going on and told us that a technician would be coming in 5 minutes so we waited another 30 mins and no one ever came. We left and two hours later, a technician showed up, took a picture of our house and snapped the picture saying we missed the appointment. Then another appointment was made automatically on 4/28 with still missing the second part and the technician came out for no reason. The second part finally arrived on 4/30/2021 and a technician came today 5/3/2021 to find out these were the wrong parts ordered. There is no ETA when these parts will arrive and no milk, eggs, or basic necessities to cook, feed my children for the past month. This is such a joke and no one at Sears cares! We even have the extended Sears Home Warranty and it hasn't provided any additional help because all we are told is to call the warranty dept if we want any help! We call and get hung up on and given no solution of what to do! It's not worth all the stress and frustration..It's a messed up system! read more

NEVER EVER EVER use Sears Home Service on Oahu.....we have American Home Shield Insurance (which is awful usually a horrible service) who turns over their repairs often to Sears. Our freezer was not working, we called several times and eventually they agreed and ordered a compressor to correct the problem. 24 hr after the agent worked on it and left the refrigerator stopped working, we called again. They told us the compressor would fit both problems and they ordered the parts. It was to be a 3 week wait, the day before the repair was to be made I called to say the part had not arrived. Turns out it was backordered but no-one called to let us know. After being on hold for 1 1/2hrs so far I hope to just get my $ to buy a new fridge. I will update-they are horrible! read more

Don't buy from Sears. We recently bought a Kenmore refrigerator late last year with the extended warranty. Recently we've been having an issue of the refrigerator not cooling on the bottom and ice all over our good in the freezer. I've been trying to schedule for someone to come out and look at it the first couple of times they had me try to trouble shoot it myself. The issue still has persisted and now I can't schedule an appointment for a technician to come out as their system has been down for at least 4 days. Don't buy SEARS appliances. My Kenmore was not defrosting. Chaged me 4 house call & repair. All he did was empty frozen ice which I was doing myself. They don't know how 2 fix anything. I give them NAGTIVE 5 STARS. read more

Update: I contacted a Samsung authorised service provider. It took the technician less than five minutes to disassemble the part, and another five to diagnose that the problem which was limited to the switch. No need to change any other parts as recommended by the Sears technician. The cost of the service was 50% less expensive than the one provided by Sears. read more
