I have only ever purchased Sears Kenmore appliances, as did my parents. These days, however, loyalty counts for nothing. My 11-year-old range had a problem with a burner coil, as it would not turn off. I waited until there was a 20% off parts and labor coupon and scheduled an appointment. The next available was about a week and a half away, from 1 - 5 p.m., on a Wednesday. I took 5 hours of vacation time. The technician arrived at 4:30 p.m. He was late because someone squeezed in a last minute service request in Waikiki. To make matters worse, he had a loaner truck with no parts because his regular truck did not pass its safety inspection that morning. Because it was so late, he had a hard time getting someone on the phone to tell him how much the replacement part would cost and if it was in stock. Fortunately the part was available but he would have to come back and fix it at a later date. If he had his regular truck, it is likely he could have fixed it then and there. He was kind enough to add me to the schedule on Saturday. Hey, a few days later, not too bad, at least I wouldn't have to take more vacation time. I would not be charged for two visits, just one. It's Friday morning. I get a robo-call that says my appointment for Saturday has been cancelled and I need to reschedule. I was pissed and unable to get a human being when I called. I went online and scheduled for the next Saturday but I was still angry so I did a live chat. I wanted to pay only the $99 diagnostic fee and nothing else. I felt that was appropriate for all the hassles. The person at customer service said he could not do that; the best he could do was put a bunch of points on my card so I would get a $50 credit at a store. Still pissed about all this. There's no guarantee someone will show up next Saturday. The Sears store near me closed awhile ago. These days I have to take two buses and a long ride to get to the nearest store, to go to a neighbor island or the continental US. Not happy at all. read more

Every time I've bought a washer and dryer, and that's been once every 15 years, they've all been dented during installation. But the delivery guys were really sorry and offered to call Sears for some kind of return or points-back. The delivery guy who installed these called Sears for me and I was given 50,000 shop points. Any business that endorses "Shop Your Way Citi MasterCard" is a scam waiting to happen. My wife and I purchased three large kitchen appliances last month from Sears in Honolulu. They told us about this Sears charge they now have called Shop Your Way. And they said they could save uS up to 40%... sounds great right? Well they had to take time delivering the large items. But two days after we left tHe store we received a bill for the undelivered items. We thought this must be a mistake? We don't expect delivery for a month from now. Why pay for items you don't even have yet? I called them on the phone. They said they have nothing to do with Sears not delivering the goods before payment.. they said they just wanted their money. I called Sears but, they said that Citi is the one I have to talk to since it is their Master Card I called CITI and they said that the card is really under the Sears Corp. Do not purchase anything from Sears using a Sears/CITI Shop Your Way Master Card. They won't even listen to the facts.. imagine wanting money to bE paid and yet the merchandise is not even delivered.... Best Part!!! They sent me a second bill now the items have still not in stock or arrived.... but they are charging me a late charge. I am going to see my attorney general. This is a consumer rip off. read more

They kept saying the part is back ordered. They then said they would replace the oven. They still have done nothing. Every time I call they transfer me at least 3 times and still do nothing. My comment IS NOT about the work Taylor did for us. Taylor is an experienced technician and asset to the Sears appliance repair team. He is also very affable has a good customer appeal. His work is without question. My low ranking comes from the scheduling and payment system. I am the property manager for 68 units in a Waikik condominium building. We have refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, dryers and washers in every room. If If we can create a reliable working relationship, I will be a regular appliance repair customer. Occasionally, we have three or four appliances get sick at the same time. It would be great to be able to make one call and set everything up so a technician can come and do three of four jobs at one location, maximizing his time and getting reliable money for the company. I called Elite Appliance Inc. (808) 468-6878. Their ads all talk about "same day service" and even "same day repair". Going through their phone system got me connected to Sears. When I did my first appointment last week, the human that I spoke to assured me that my card info would be attached to my name profile so whenever I made an appointment, everything would be ready. Because I am the property manager, I am authorized by the 68 owners to take care of this kind of work on their behalf. Each unit was designed and appointed in it's own time by the owner. Appliances can drop out at anytime. With all the other vendors that I have coming in on a weekly basis, including plumbing, electrician, AC repair, window treatment repair and so on, the vendors are able to give me an invoice (at the time of completion, or later via email) which I give to my accounting department who makes a check for the work. It seems like your system may be geared for separate residences. Is there someone I can please speak with to crate this form of B to B business arrangement? Sears isn't how they use to be. The sales people at the store are really nice and friendly, but when you need service, good luck. We purchased a Kenmore refrigerator from them. It's not even a year old and it broke twice already. We paid extra for warranty as well, but customer service is non existent when trying to schedule service. A technician came and didn't even take our refrigerator apart. He just said oh it seems cold again. Just call if it breaks. Fast forward about a week. It broke yet again. We had to throw out a second round of food and keep buying 20lb bags of ice until someone could come out again. Called them on October 22 and we were told no one could come out until November 6. Later that day, my dad got an email saying they were coming on the 31st. He waited and no one showed up so he called and was told it was a mistake. At that point, he was really frustrated and telling the lady on the phone what happened so far and she hung up on him. Do NOT purchase any appliances from here. Once you buy it, you're pretty much on your own. We ended just taking a huge loss and purchasing a new refrigerator elsewhere. I may be contacting either their corporate office and/or the Better Business Bureau regarding the lack of care and customer service we experienced after spending so much money there. We lost so much more $ on food that had to be thrown out twice and on having to buy bags and bags of ice while waiting for a technician to come by again. I want some reimbursement for all of the trouble and hassle we went through. My dad tried to ask the lady on the phone if there was a number he could call to file an official complaint and she told him there was no such department. I call BS. Sears has a local repair number but calling them 3 times, I get international service agents that have not been able to answer my questions NOR resolve this issue. The service agent came to the house to diagnose the issue (confirming our problem) but did not repair. Charged $114 to tell us what we knew and would charge us $330 more to come again to repair as repairman did not have the part with him (thus having to pay the service charge again. Our washer and dryer were under a contract other than our 5-year extended warranty we purchased at the time we bought our Sears washer and dryer. Unless we were willing to pay the required fee with this incorrect warranty for which I scheduled, she could not work on our dryer since it was listed under a different warranty. She spoke to her supervisor who immediately changed our warranty to the correct contract numbers. About an hour later, Alexis called, saying she would be at our home to service both dryer and washer. She did an excellent job on both! She went over and beyond making sure our records were corrected! read more

I went the next day and saw many revamped home appliances,power tools, and lawn equipment. My friend told me that things here cost 20-30%off and carry a six month warranty.Keepig that in mind I selected from the display model that I could inspect a nine inch screen tv with a built in video player/recorder. Ridiculously poor service! We have the appliance warranty and a service man came to our house to look at our washing machine approximately 4 weeks ago. He placed the part on order and GUARANTEED a delivery date of the part and repair NLT 4 days ago. We never received word that the part was backordered and no update via email or phone or text on any status. After multiple hours on the phone with numerous service reps at a customer service center, no one understands what the issue is or how long it will take. I ordered the OEM part on Amazon 24 hours ago and it is supposed to arrive in 24 hours and yet my part through the Sears warranty program is still back-ordered. Meanwhile, we have been without a washing machine for nearly a month. The poorest customer service I have ever received. We will never use this service again nor will I be buying anymore Kenmore products. read more

Two stars allows for the fact that when a protection agreement maintenance visit actually happened, we were quite happy with the service and service person. ON THE OTHER HAND, DO NOT PURCHASE A SEAR PROTECTION AGREEMENT. For every actual visit over many years, 2 visits were canceled. We are still being stymied in getting a last refrigerator maintenance service that was scheduled well before our agreement expired a month ago. When SEARS canceled three different scheduled visits, we were promised we would still receive the promised maintenance visit under our contract. Now, after a 'no-show' on a scheduled visit yesterday, and more that 8 hours on the phone with more than a dozen SEARS representatives in four or five different departments (Warranties, Repair Division, Customer Service, Technical Support, Benefits team etc.), we have been sent back to the same department several times, each time spending 20+ minutes re-explaining our situation to a new person, then having the person act like there are no records of all our previous phone conversations or the Sears cancellations. Now they are telling us that we will have to pay for the maintenance visit that we deserve and were promised and it can't be scheduled for another two months since it is not a repair visit. I am so very sadly disappointed in the maintenance contract of Sears. Two repair guys come out, no problem there. They were nice enough, polite, checked out the dryer for maintenance, air flow, heat etc. They were done rather quickly, say less than 7 minutes and I asked them if they had cleaned out the dryer vent, they said, "oh no, we don't touch that?" Omg, any responsible repair person would do so. Idk if they were lazy or what, but when I bought the maintenance contract, I verified with the sales person were these items that I had questions about serviced? He said yes.
