Working with this company has been excruciating. First of all their service windows are eight hour periods. That is completely unreasonable, especially if you don't work from home. I've had to take several days off work just waiting for these people. Then I had one service day that I took off work and they never showed up. I never even got a phone call or a text message or an email. They just didn't show up. Now on my third visit, they canceled out of the blue. Actually calling them and getting a hold of them as a nightmare. Every time I call, they confirm my address and they have my apartment number wrong in their system. And I tell them every time I call them it's wrong and they never fix it. I am going on six weeks working with them trying to get my washer fixed and they still haven't completed the job. read more

I don't how anyone can give these folks a 5, 4, or 3 star review. This company is HORRIBLE!! My washing machine would not drain, so I called my home warranty company on June 5th to schedule a repair. They sent the request to Sears Home Services. I was excited when I saw it was going to Sears because I bought the washing machine about 10 years ago from Sears & thought this would be a great fit. I was scheduled for June 9th. First they give you an 8 hour window, which I felt was strange, have never encountered this type of window in all my years, but the technician did show up, looked at my machine and stated he needed to order some parts & the parts would come to my home w/in 3 to 5 days and we rescheduled for June 13th to put the parts in; I was a bit worried the parts would not get here in time, but they did, which was great. Well, on June 12th, I received a text message that unfortunately, the parts will not be here in time for the scheduled appointment on the 13th, & they were scheduling me for the 24th about 2 weeks later. I was SHOCKED because I was looking at the parts and I could not wait 2 weeks for a repair, I was running out of clean clothes to wear. I contacted my home warranty company & told them and they contacted them & they gave me a date of the 14th to come out, (which was a Saturday) well I waited all day & close to the end of the 8 hr. window, I received a text message; due to unforeseen circumstances they could not come out to do the repair. I contacted my warranty company, they contacted them only to find out the office was closed. They called them again on Monday & I was given the 17th to come out & once again another text message that the could not come out; my warranty company called again & I was given the 19th; once again a text message they could not come out. The warranty company stated that when they called they stated the technician did not have a work order to come to my house; I replied that makes NO SENSE whatsoever, they scheduled me for the 21st; another Saturday, which I refused, because the office is closed. I demanded the warranty company to send my work order to another vendor; which they did & they forgot to cancel out of the Sears system & guess what, I let the appointment stand, and of course, I received a text message at the end of the day that they were not coming and requesting another date for them to NOT come out; which I refused to respond to. I told my warranty company they need to get rid of them because they are giving them a bad name. They use AI & text messages to communicate with the customers, which I think is fantastic, but if you are using technology to hide, because you know you will not be coming out to assist customers, then you need to stop using it and if this is the treatment you will give to customers, then you should not be in business. I will be sharing my experiences with any and all avenues I can to spare people the frustration and anger I have been going through from this disgusting company and to everyone who has a contract with them, please get out of it now. Regarding Sears Home Warranty. Awful service, completely automated, no human beings involved. They collect their "deductible" up front, when you make the appointment, and then repeatedly "no show" for the appointments you set. you have to be home from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on the day of service, end then they either no show, or show up 2 hours past the service window (8:30 pm). Despite considerable time spent identifying the problem when the appointment is set, technician shows up on the third attempt, to spend 5 minutes at the house, then tells you he needs to order parts and will be back in a week to install them, again requiring you to be home for an entire day. A scam. I'm sure the objective is to get you to sign up, take your money for as long as they can, and when you need their service, make it so bad that you will cancel. I'd be willing to bet many give up and call another repair company before Sears ever completes the service call. read more

I was charged $300 for a repair to my washing machine that only last a few washes. The technician was only here for 30 minutes and provided no new parts so the $300 charge was already ridiculous. Whatever he did worked for a few washes then my water stared pouring out of my washer again. Since it's only been a few days and well within the 30 day window, I demand a refund of the difference between the $300 charge and the $129 diagnostic fee. I shouldn't be charged for work that didn't fix the problem. It's also very frustrating that you can't speak to or even email a human being at this company. He ran a diagnostic test to make sure it wasn't the heating element and taught me about using different functions in my dishwasher. He even helped my with a stove question. Service request 6/1/25 via American Home Shield. Recieved comformation that Sears Home Service was assigned the job. 6/2/25 received a text from Sears virtual assistant "Richard" requesting photo of refrigerator information tag and the issue. I provide the photo and explanation. I then received a comformation stating my appointment is 6/4/25 between 8am-5pm. Then I recive an update daily ( you have two days to your appointment, then one day to your appointment.) Also requesting you give 24 hrs notice if you going to cancel to avoid a fee. Then at 11:30am the day of the appointment I receive a text from virtual Richard saying "we regret to inform you that your appointment has been canceled" Really! Not even a call from the technician. Now who pays me for the last minute cancelation? What horrible service and communication experience. No real humans involved just virtual assistants. Never again. And the kicker to this I was telling a family member about my experience and to my surprise she said you lucked out. Because they had used Sears Home Service for thier refrigerator and the tech basically stated she needed a new refrigerator. The Sears technician arrived arrived to replace the broken lever of the water dispenser on my refridgerator. Upon removing the face panel of the ice maker to access the lever, he dropped the access plastic panel on the floor & broke it. After replacing the broken lever he attempted to return the access panel but it would not snap in place as it was broken. The access panel is now taken to the ice maker to gain access. The technician apologized for breaking the panel & said he would order a new one. My wife & I have used the Sears Warranty program over the years with no issues. We've never received such shoddy service! i look forward to working with Sears to rectify the issue. read more

The technician called on Jan. 11 and said he was not coming. He did not show up fir the appointnent. On Nov. 6, the first technician cane and ordered a part. After the part arrived, no one came to do the repair. Also I could not contact SEARS either online or via telephone. (When I contacted them online, they said I should give them a call. When I telephoned them, they said I had an appointment for repair on Nov. 6 which was in the past). In the meantime, a handyman came for something else, I asked him if he knew anything about range repair. He tried to do something, but only one of the coils could be turned on. On Dec. 14, another technician came after I had written a conplaint online He said it could not be repaired. He ordered another part and left. On Jan. 4, the last technician came and said it could not be repaired. He tinkered with it. Now both large plates are not heating. Also the indicator light for heating element is on 24/7. I called Sears home services and scheduled an appointment for this morning online. My one year-old washer had a loose drum -top load washer. I knew there was a $129 service fee, but it would not be charged unless I did not get the work done. The person who came obviously did not want to do the work. He told me it needed new suspension rods and it would cost me $530. I only paid 600 for the washer. One year ago, When I declined I paid and he asked me to sign the decline, which I couldn't see just the space to decline where I put my name, I asked him to wait til I got the receipt and he said I would get it later. When I saw it after he left, I saw that he had included a $150 maintenance fee on that bill to make it. 529..97 !! Had I known he added that I would've asked him to take it off and complete the work however he told me fixing the machine would cost me that $530.00 He did not want to do the work he made that clear. He was also sick and sneezing and coughing the entire time which I'm immunocompromised and is not good. He was not honest about adding in fees like a service plan. That's because he didn't want to do it in the first place like I said I would've had the work completed if it would've been $150 less. He also wrote on the receipt that I had a front loading washer when it was a top loading washer!!! that's because the front loading cost more and he could just write that in. I have a top loading washer. I said that in my original order and he was standing right there. Why is Sears sending a sick person out who has no inclination to ever do the work in the first place, who is dishonest, not only about the kind of washer I have but about adding a service plan in the cost of 150.00 to make it so much I just wouldn't get it done.
