I *did call the number that "cust service" left on my review. It's the same number that I called and had issues with. After TAKING THE DAY OFF FROM WORK TODAY, THE TECH DOESNT SHOW UP! WTF?! I'm so pissed right now! I call and was told "Oh he cancelled the appt because all the parts aren't in." WHAT?! I have all the parts right in front of me. Do NOT use this company. Replaced a part in the washing machine, paid $480, washing machine still didn't work. Made another appt for them to come back out. Had a window of 8-12, appt kept getting pushed back, at 5:15 they cancelled our appt. Horrible customer service, no human to speak to. Horrible communication. Horrible service. They are a scam!! He requested that I sign a waiver to pull the refrigerator from the wall without having anything with him to protect the hardware floors. He said Sears didn't give him anything. I had some card board in recycle bin and he put that down. Then I signed the waiver and he proceeded. This was the worst experience ever in having Sears service an appliance. Next, In order to replace the water tubing for the ice maker, he said he had to force it and may break something else. He never wanted to change the tubing that the previous technician had diagnosed and ordered the part shipped to the house. He said sometimes the technician order parts that's not needed. I told him not to force anything. I will ask Sears to send out another technician and he can just leave. I am working with Sears to reschedule. This is the fourth visit from Sears to fix the ice maker and the technician didn't want to replace the parts diagnosed and ordered by his colleague who has years of experience. read more

Our Kenmore dryer was malfunctioning so I went to the Sears Appliance Repair website and was able to book a service about for the same afternoon. Walton called to let us know he was on his way. He arrived promptly and was able to repair our dryer. Walton was a joy to work with so pleasant and what a great sense of humor. We had an issue with our washer, not draining and filling. I normally try to fix these things, but since my wife needs the washer on the weekends I called Sears home services. The first guy to show up barely did any problem-solving. He basically pushed a home warranty on me, saying that the service charge would be $139 and that the total repair would be $700 or I could sign up for the warranty and get the repair for $500. Or if I waited 2 weeks for the warranty to kick in. I can get it for the price of the warranty and $100 deductible. So he really forced me into getting the warranty. His diagnosis was that the drain motor was bad and that he would ship the drain motor to me and I could reschedule the install. So as I was waiting for the motor. I looked up the price for an OEM pump which was $60. The charge from them was $280 for the part and $200 for the labor. I reluctantly scheduled the install again because my wife was anxious to have it fixed. Even though I knew I could probably do it with the $60 part myself. We rescheduled them for a Friday. And on Friday they keep pushing back the appointment and never showed up. The system automatically scheduled us for the next day, even though we waited all day for them on Friday. again on Saturday the automated system keeps pushing back the appointment and an eventually canceled it on its own. So given that was Saturday night already. I decided to install the part myself with my son's help. Because it's a stacked dryer we had to dismount the dryer ourselves, which was the part that we didn't want to do. We actually installed the part fine even though it looks like it's possible that that part was not even broken in the first place. The unit would still not start and run. Finally, on Saturday, I got another text that they were coming after all, and they showed up after I completed installing the part. I reluctantly let them in and the first guy didn't have any clue why it wasn't working and the second guy that was there to help un-stack. The unit basically insisted that I had broken it by installing it myself, keep in mind that I've repaired many appliances myself before and fixed many things before. They did manage to run the diagnostics, which was never done by the first guy and showed me the error that came up. They claimed it was a door code error for the main door. I did a quick Google and told them it was actually the ad door. This is the middle door that allows you to add garments when a cycle starts. They basically decided that since I've worked on it, they weren't gonna work on it anymore and they were gonna charge me the service call. They didn't know that I had been quoted the $500 for the install. After they left, the bill came through and I got charged the full $500 for the service and the install, even though they had not done more than 10 minutes of work. Finally, I'd learned how to do the diagnostic test cycle on my own. On the first time I actually got it to work, but then when I tried to use the ad door, it failed again, so I looked up the replacement part for the ad door and found it on Amazon 30 bucks. Everyone on Amazon reported the same issue and error code that I had in the reviews for this part. So I ordered this part myself and shipped to my house. This part was a little bit harder to install, but I figured it out and it worked again as expected. Given that the first guy never ran the diagnostic cycle. I don't know which was the actual issue. I will say the parts excessively marked up from the installers. But we're $60 and $30 were easy to replace once you learned how to. There is a wealth of information on YouTube and some good information on Amazon reviews. Moral of the story, if you don't have a warranty and you call for support, You're likely going to pay the price of a new unit. So I would suggest you learn to DIY your repairs, or just go and get a new unit which comes with its own frustrations, but at least you have a new unit for the price of what a service might cost you. In the past, I've used a sears home service and they just showed up and did the repair. This time it was basically a push for warranty. Seems like a lot of repair people to my knowledge just push the up cell when they make the initial visit. This is basically what you're gonna get with Sears if you choose to use them. My guess is the tech moved out the appt since I did a chat and complained about him no showing yesterday. -------- If I could do 0 stars I would. I had a repair scheduled for Monday, September 19. No show, no call to tell me they weren't coming and to reschedule. I had to spend over an hour trying to figure out how to get it rescheduled. Got it rescheduled for Tuesday, September 20. Arrival time is 5:48 - but THE WINDOW IS ONLY 8-5!!! And why am I at the end of the day!? I should be the first stop given I was supposed to be scheduled yesterday!!!!! Also, trying to get in touch with a supervisor or an actual person that has a sense of what to do is impossible. I did talk to someone finally on Monday night. They said a supervisor would call me back in 1-2 hours. Nope, never called back. Trying to get through on the phone to a person is impossible, the prompts don't allow you to talk to a person and when IVR finally says you are getting transferred to a person it hangs up on you. The absolute worst customer service experience. Definitely don't suggest using Sears Service or Home Warranty. Beware. These guys like most non-independent service work have adopted new tech models for pricing and are blatantly gouging neighborhoods - on the bandwagon of inflation. I used to pay $250 a year to have my riding lawn mower tuned up. That's an air filter, a spark plug, an oil change and filter and a fuel filter - should be about $60 in parts, Maybe less. This week I was charged for the exact same service nearly $700. That's not inflation, that's price gouging. Oh, and they won't tell you that before like they used to, they want you to book the appointment and they'll let you known on the spot what you're in for, so of course you give in. Great strategy. They're all doing it, plumbers, electricians, etc. HIRE INDEPENDENT. HIRE THE LOCAL PEOPLE. Fuck these big corporations and their greed. read more

I had an issue with my washer, and I called Sears Home Services to help. First of all, they never came within the time range that I set the appointment for. They were always late or I had to reschedule. Then it cost me $500 for them to replace a part and it didn't even fix the issue. Then I requested someone to come back out to look at it again. They said it would cost $400 to repair another part of the washer. I don't think it's fair that they were going to charge me an additional $400 when they didn't resolve the issue the first time. I had to get help from a contractor to actually fix the issue for a lot less money. And the contractor said that the part that they replaced for $500 probably didn't need replacing, and it was just the easiest thing for them to "fix". My advice to anyone thinking about using this service is to please find someone local. Sears is only trying to do the bare minimum at a very expensive price. read more

The repairman made a mistake with our refrigerator, which two other people confirmed, and now we cannot get him to respond to us, nor can we speak to a human at Sears repair to remedy the problem. I have a sears Home service contract. This is the second time in 4 years my refrigerator has failed. I scheduled an appointment via the website on a Tuesday. I was told representative would arrive on Wednesday. I took off work and the middle of the day appointment was cancelled and scheduled for the next day. The representative arrived on Thursday and said that parts ere needed and it would require 10 business days. (that is two weeks) I was scheduled for a Wednesday approximately two weeks from the initial visit. The Parts arrived at my house within a week but no service rep to install. The day of the scheduled appointment arrived and I took off from work the job was cancelled again and had to reschedule for the following Tuesday. The following Tuesday arrived and appointment was cancelled again after taking a day off of work and scheduled for following Tuesday. Right now it has taken a month and the refrigerator is still broken. Unable to talk to a live person to resolve this issue. I have tried to talk to a live person to get this resolved but so far I only get the computer. This is the worst service I have ever seen. He knows nothing about AC repairs and is claiming to have gone to school for this and been in this business for years. We had an appointment scheduled to fix our AC unit with him. He didn't know how to fix the unit the first time he visited our home, claimed he was sick and needed to go home. Proceeded to ask us to pay him $70 on the side to clean our system, if he gets scheduled to come back again. Came back for a second appointment and sat outside our home for 20 minutes, took a photo of our house and drove away. Claimed we never answered the door. I don't know how to express how outraged we are. Don't waste your time. We tried filing a report for this technician, but never received confirmation or updates. We have had no AC for 5 days now, it is 90 in our home. Don't waist your time. If Hai T. gets assigned to your job, call and ask for a different technician.
