The service man was excellent! Having to hold 9 hours open in a day to be prepared for a service call is really inconsiderate and inconvenient for us as customers. I waited at home from morning to late afternoon never knowing what the real service time would be. That shows a total lack of respect for the A&E (Sears) customers. The cost of service is high. And the annual service contract ($ 600-700) in addition to the extra $100 per appliance per service is an amazingly eggregious waste of money. I'm glad it keeps Sears afloat, but it's a terrible investment for regular folks. However, the service person who helped us defrost our refrigerator for $400 was a very professional and friendly person. Service techs typically arrive later than the specified appointment time window. Quality of service provided is "okay" I suppose, but the biggest problem with the Sears Home Services Warranty program is the terrible customer service. All the phone numbers provided are for automated or virtual customer service agents only. It's impossible to reach a real human being to get status of techs when late or other necessary information beyond the programmed voice prompts. And I couldn't reach a real human when Sears required a virtual appointment for initial evaluation of my repair. First of all, I don't know how it is even possible to do a virtual tech visit for a dryer repair. But I never received any phone call or link for the virtual visit during the scheduled time window as Sears had promised. And I was unable to get a real human on the phone when I called customer service. All the system did was text me confirmation of my scheduled appointment time window, which had already expired by that point. And after choosing the reschedule option, I was transferred to a virtual representative. The whole system is absolutely horrible, and I may just cancel this warranty program because it's the worst customer service I've ever experienced. However, it was very easy to speak with a real human when they were selling me the warranty and taking my money. Hmmm... read more

All round good experience. Todays service person was different than the original one who looked at the washer issue and ordered a part for repair. Both were professional and readily explained the problem and how it was going to fixed. The service person who came to install the doubled checked with me what problems I was experiencing before installing the part. He doubled checked to make sure machine was working correctly before leaving. read more

UPDATE: No response at all from the email address they provided on this forum, and I'm still out $600 for a job that was never done. I was hoping they would resolve this on their own, but it looks like I'll need to file a complaint with the state instead. read more

Service technician performed the repair well. Unfortunately, the parts ordering department did not. Over the succeeding weeks we received over 20 copies of the needed parts. we have been unable to return them as the customer service department is nonexistent and all contact is hidden behind both an automated answering service and a call center that has no authority to resolve your issues. Don't waste your time trying to get help, even if you are trying to help them recover expensive parts they ordered in error. read more

Really just awful customer service from beginning to end. The first technician misdiagnosed my issue and then tried to upsell me on a warranty. Had to wait for parts to arrive only to be told by second technician that they weren't needed (and he also tried to upsell a warranty). However, I was charged for everything in advance and the final bill was half of what I paid. I tried three different ways to get my money back and finally had to submit a dispute to my credit card. In retrospect, I should have declined everything as their charges are outrageous. Buyer beware. read more

I am writing to express my extreme frustration and disappointment with the level of customer service I have encountered in recent months. In late February of this year, a technician visited to repair my dishwasher. He informed me that two parts were needed and suggested purchasing a service agreement to save money. I agreed and bought both parts. I scheduled an appointment for the dishwasher repair once the parts arrived, but on several occasions, the technician failed to show up. Once, the appointment had to be rescheduled by the tenant. The last time, the technician claimed to have come and even sent a photo, but it was of the wrong location. I requested a refund for the parts and cancellation of the monthly debits for the service agreement on March 27th. I returned the parts, which were received by your team on April 8th. However, over a month has passed, and I am still awaiting a refund. I have been directed to more than five different departments, which has only added to my frustration. Never use SEARS read more

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE company. They have you pay first then screw everything up from there. My refrigerator stopped cooling and they came to look at it. Said that I had an EVAP coil bad and leak in the R600 system. They first shipped the wrong part and had to leave without fixing it. then they have not been able to get me the part i need. They say they cant find it but i found it in 5 minutes and could have it shipped in a day. I told them where i found it and still they cant find it. now they just ignore me and if i CHAT and put in my number it closes the chat but not other phone numbers. Outstanding technician. Very calm and focused. Solved a 90 days old problem. Sediqu is very careful person too. Wore shoe mitts before entering the house. Also used towels to keep the gas stove bars so that these don't scratch the granite counters. But the most important thing is the knowledge and the way he explaind and solved the problem. read more

I would post a real review if they ever showed up to do the service. Their support seems deliberately disconnected from actually helping you with anything. You can only talk to bots unless you're rescheduling or ordering hardware. the one tech just doesn't show up, he keeps saying he's two stops away until the end of the day. I'm on 3 months 3 scheduled visits and days off of work waiting for a repair to actually happen. don't use them. read more

Absolute nightmare of a company to work with, can't connect on the phone to get problems solved. Schedule date- technician comes out to fix dryer, "fixes it", he leaves & I go down to use dryer and still have the same problem as before. Scheduled date number 2- technician was supposed to be there between 8-5. Took day off of work. recieved phone call at 5:20 from technician saying he couldn't make it there. Stated he would be there the following day, mind you I took off the following day, texted him to find out what time he would be by. Told me I'm not on his route. Can't connect with anyone to find out when my appliance will be fixed. All you get is an automated system that says do you want to reschedule this date. This is the worst organization I've ever worked with. Don't understand how this place is still in business with this terrible customer service. read more

Sears was scheduled through my warranty company and came out to repair a dryer not drying the clothes without 2-3 cycles. The ervice fee was paid up front. The repair lasted 2-3 wks. When they were called to return, it was just a repeat of excuses. "Oh, we didn't know it was a warranty call. That will have to be rescheduled." OK - we will have to order parts and reschedule. When rescheduled - they were a No Show!" There were 3 No Shows in total - and their window of time is 7 am - 5 pm! So you waste a whole day waiting! In order to have it serviced I had to pay a 2nd service fee for another company. They came out and fixed it on the spot! I will never call Sears for service. read more

I was unable to be home when the technician arrived due to a home inspection in lieu of the upcoming sale of my home. The technician called me and said I needed a new ice maker and would have to get approval from CHW before he could order the part. He did not call me to tell me tge claim had been rejected or why. CHW said that he told them that the problem was not a result of normal wear and tear. He told me it was defective. So I'm confused as to what the problem is. The refrigerator is a 2015 model and the ice make has worked. Why after 9 years would he say it was not wear and tear? Now I have the dilemma of how to solve thiis issue... read more

I tried calling the 800 number. The automated system only gave me option to cancel reschedule and to confirm the appointment. No other options, such as requesting a call back or talking to a rep Were available. also having windows from 7 AM to 6 PM is pretty Ludacris. read more

I requested my annual spring maintenance check on my air conditioning unit. The appliance repair technician arrived in the morning with a kind greeting. Worst service ever. They came to fix our new fridge. Like so many other posters have said -- they ordered the wrong parts, postpone etc. You might get lucky and have something fixed, but don't count on it. We got lucky once, then signed the year-long service contract. We had a problem with another appliance. Appointment after appointment made, no one showed up, cancelled w/o notifying us FOUR times. Personally I wanted to see how many time we could push it, but lost patience. Main level of contact is almost all AI and useless. Eventually you get someone reading a script probably in India, who absolutely sympathizes with the problems you've had, inexcusable, will go to higher management and insure next appointment is rushed, etc., etc. All b**s. Since there are so many bad reviews I can only think they make their money through contract cancellations. DO NOT USE SEARS HOME SERVICES or SIGN A CONTRACT. RUN AWAY. read more
