You can tell this place is brand new. I'll start by saying the decor and ambiance are great. We put our names down for a table of 3 and we're given a 15 min wait time and waited close to 40mins. We got a couple of drinks at the bar and there was no wait time - service was great and drinks were good. Once we sat down and we placed our orders we were told that drinks were going to take 15mins and food about 30 mins because they were backed up. We also had ordered personalized drinks at the bar that are not on the menu but when we were at the table the waiter said that the bar wouldn't make "special drinks" and that the waiter didn't want to lose his job over asking for them. He also mentioned the bartender wasn't being friendly. Well we were disappointed but ordered other drinks. The food came first -30 mins later and then our drinks came another 10 mins later. The food was good - we kept it basic ordering a shrimp po boy sandwich and two burgers. But overall they have a lot to work on when it comes to their service. read more

This place is absolutely the best seafood destination in the area. Raw Oysters were delicious and fish was great too. Prices are little bit on a high end, if not that we would be dining there several times a week. read more

I came here for the first time. I was excited to come since they have been building this place for awhile now and they finally opened. I am very disappointed with my experience. First of all, our table was right in the corner next to the bar, so it was very tight and small and everyone would try and squeeze through next to our table to get to the other side of the restaurant. Food was shockingly not good. Ordered calamari for appetizer and it was alright, not the greatest and did not have as much flavor as I was expecting. It was a very small portion. I then ordered the crab cake sandwich. It was extremely salty, I couldn't eat it. Saltiest crab cake I've ever tried. I told the waitress and she didn't even seem to care and seemed bothered that I didn't like it. She then said if I want to switch it, so I ordered the seafood chowder. I was expecting it to be similar to a clam chowder soup, but I was wrong. It was extremely sweet and filled with carrots. I couldn't even eat this, so unfortunately I did not eat anything here only the calamari. Waitress never asked if I liked it. She came to our table and refilled our drinks but clearly she saw I didn't like the soup, and she didn't ask me anything. Poor customer service from the waitress. At the end when we went to pay, she asked if I wanted to take the soup home. I was finally able to tell her the soup was very sweet. She looked at me very seriously and didn't even care! I've never had a waiter/waitress who was this rude and didn't show they cared if I enjoyed my plate. She then charged me for the soup when she saw I didn't eat it. Once I asked her, she took the charge off but seemed annoyed. I was shocked with how rude this waitress was. All other waiters/waitresses I saw around us were extremely friendly. I guess our waitress was having a bad night since she had an attitude. The menus gave a very vague description of what each plate contained. I was very upset about this as well since it was hard to tell what came with each plate. Very upset with my experience at the oyster bar. I waited all these months for them to open just to be disappointed. I definitely will not be coming back here ever. Not sure if my experience was bad because they recently opened? I hope in the future they improve their recipes because everything I tried was bland, overly salty, or very sweet. I came here months ago and now the staff has dramatically changed with people who don't care and just want money, the food and the mood. Servers were stopped at the corner of the bar to talk to the owners...(apparently) says the server... but my drink was left waiting for five minutes no more smoke in my smoked old fashion, Which took the bartender 15 minutes to make because she was talking to the "owners", when not a souls was around besides myself. The service staff is apologetic and that really shows, but I can't justified eating here when my drink takes 15 minutes and my appetizer comes out before my drink. The service staff doesn't understand why I am upset, by being the only paying customer in the place besides the "owners". And than to get the food that I ordered many minutes before after the owners got theirs... I really hope they weren't real "owners" because that's just embarrassing. My oysters had brine on them. They weren't cleaned right, they were dirty and tasted so. For a place too charge so much they do very little. read more

We have been to the SOB twice now, and are happy to have it in Suwanee. Service was great both times, even when it was really busy the first time we came. Last night, I had the seafood platter with blackened grouper (really well cooked, great flavor) and fried shrimp. The shrimp were perfect. Nice and hot, not overdone, perfect fried texture. My wife had shrimp and grits, because it's what she judges every seafood restaurant by. It was good, but she said that the grits could be "grittier". They were pretty heavy on the cheese and creaminess, but she would have liked more texture to it. I think that helps the grits soak up more of the flavor from everything else. Also, she quite enjoyed the Suwanee Sour cocktail. read more

I've become a "regular" at SOB. The food is great, they offer a nice variety of oysters at any given week. SOB is very consistent, I never had a bad experience with them. The staff is just wonderful. They always ask for feedback and they listen. For example, the first time I ordered their Poke Bowl, I felt I would enjoy eating it better with chopsticks, so I mentioned that to Miguel (manager) and Carlos (Executive Chef) and a few weeks later when I ordered another Poke Bowl, it came with chopsticks. The bartenders, Paola, Marilu, and Alexis are great, funny, and very professional. This is a place where I can come alone or with family and friends and I always have a great time. From the management point of view, kudos to Jenny (GM) and Miguel, they always (I mean ALWAYS) take the time to stop by and make sure that I'm getting the service and food quality I expect. I've also had the pleasure to interact with some of the servers - Oracio, Alex, Briana, and others - and again, I've nothing but the best to say about them. For me, "value" is very important. The value that restaurants can offer is determined by cleanliness, service, food quality and taste, cost, ambient, and consistency. I give SOB 5-stars in all these categories. read more

This place exceeded my expectations, especially for a new restaurant opening at these days and times. Service is great, the inside is clean and airy and food is delicious. We ordered grilled oysters, calamari, peeled and eat shrimp and mussels. Everything is tasty and fresh. It is on the pricey side but it's not cheap to eat anywhere nowadays. So happy to see this new addition to the Suwanee restaurant scene!! Will be our new frequent spot. read more

I am very disappointed with this place I went there around 3:00 p.m. 9/10/ 22 with my friends just to grab a bite to eat and the waitress kept pushing the Seafood Tower this is our biggest seller, this is what everyone gets. So me being undecited says okay I'll try it. My friend kept saying she looks very dishonest and I still didn't pay any attention to her. I was so busy enjoying my friends that when I got my bill for just my plate I end up paying over $230 for the Seafood Tower. That did include drinks. Of all the restaurants I've been to, this has to have been one of the worst. We came here for my birthday and it was a total ripoff. Half the oysters were bad to eat and everything was very greasy. They were however nice to us by giving me a free dessert for my birthday. When we asked to see the manger, he came out and sounded very desperate to please us, even though we were just another customer on another busy night. Speaking of which, two-thirds of our time there was spent waiting on our food. The manager decided to put the dessert on the house, but it was free, so that meant nothing to us. Came to brunch for the first time this morning. The food was amazing!! Beautiful place!! A little pricey but at least it was good! Gotta have the Benedict's they have a little kick to the sauce they use. The service sucked. I hate to write names but it's good for the managers to know. Alex seemed like it was his first day serving. Nice guy but just not the job for him. We were the only people in here this morning right at open. Took about 10 minutes to get waters and 2 coffees. Had to ask for refills on the coffee and I guess they make it as you ask? And charged for refills on the coffee!! Only 2 bucks but when you have to get up and ask for a refill. Kinda odd. I've worked years in the restaurant industry and when you're the only table in the restaurant and you have to get up and ask for something it's pretty uncomfortable. Also, as we were waiting for our food I walked back to the used the bathroom and there's like 4-5 other servers back there sitting in the booths just hanging out. So, just made the whole experience extra frustrating. One of them could have helped out or had a coffee pot going!! I'm sure they sit on a warmer!! When he took our order he had to ask about 3 times and look at the menu to see what we were ordering. And after he took our order he turned the menu over to see if we wanted an app. Totally understand upselling but should have started with asking about an app. Not after we have already ordered and waiting a while for drinks. We were ready to get our order in by then. Anyways, service has been pretty important lately and will make or break a place. Probably won't be back. Brunch is awesome though! read more

A neat place located fairly close to Suwannee park. The service was not as bad as some other reviews have stated. We were sat fairly quickly and received our food in a very timely manner. We ordered 2 of each oyster and I'd say they basically all tasted almost identical with the exception of one which tasted much grainier. Our waitress recommended the Model Ts but personally the taste really was not justified by the pricing. I probably wouldn't come back here for the oysters. We also ordered the redfish and the soft shell crab poboy. For the most part the redfish with grits was really good. For some reason the food was very very salty in some bites. There were a few parts of our meals where it was just too salty to swallow the food and my girlfriend had to spit it out and drink water. My fries for the poboy were really soggy so make sure you ask for extra crispy fries when ordering. Overall I wouldn't say our dining experience was bad but for close to $100 for two I'd expect just a little more from my meal. read more

I went to this restaurant last night with my 7 year old granddaughter. She was hungry and I was too. Well when I drove up to the restaurant I was not expecting it to look like it does. It's very nice, with a great modern design, it looks like it would be in Buckhead or in the Village of NYC or something. When we went inside I was even more impressed. The interior design is very nice and it has the right ambiance. It's so very cozy and I love the waiting area where they have fire pits and comfortable seating so if you have to wait, you're comfortable & you won't mind waiting. After being seated, we were waited on by the nicest server by the name of Camillo. He was cordial, accomodating, a great listener, he got our order right and his customer service was superb!. Not only was Camillo so nice, but while we were there, the co-owner Taylor, the restaurant manager and the chef all made their rounds around the restaurant greeting customers at their tables. They also stopped by and asked us for feedback. Something that you don't see these days. The food is also good. I ordered the seafood platter, choosing fried oysters & grilled shrimp, my side was a side salad, and the meal was served with cole slaw & hush puppies. The food was excellent, my Bloody Mary drink was delish as well! My granddaughter ate every morsel of her cup of seafood chowder, her fried grouper fingers, her fries and she told me she really liked all of her food. So by now you all should get it. I enjoyed this restaurant. I enjoyed the atmosphere. I would definitely go again and recommend this restaurant! Check them out. It's a gem of a restaurant!
