It is always pleasant for me to dine outside on the Seasons patio with the splash of water in the fountain adding a nice ambiance, day or night. Seasons is the restaurant in the main lobby of the four seasons. Due to the shutdowns, the menu and service is limited. You can find sandwiches, pizzas and some main dishes. They have a kids menu too. I enjoyed the chilaquiles for brunch and the turkey wrap for lunch. Both were good. Service was very friendly and accommodating with patience. This is the main restaurant and all service for the property comes from the restaurant. We also had room service. I did not enjoy the pasta alfredo. I wish I would have stuck with their pizzas as they looked and tasted delicious. read more

What a nice spot! My daughter surprised me and brought me here for a Mother's Day breakfast. As consistent w a resort, the service was attentive. I was impressed by their menu. It offered variety yet remained constrained. The coffee was delicious, hot & flavorful. Also they make creative tea lattes such as the " Carlsbad Fog-" an earl grey tea latte. Yum. We are guests staying at the timeshare resort for a week. I found one of my fav dessert which is "flourless cake" w/salted caramel and chantilly cream on their room service menu. Immediately I went to restaurant and ordered it for take out. I was so disappointed when I got home and found it was a piece of shrivelled chocolate cake like a sick molten lava accompanied with a fresh strawberry cut in half! Of course no salted caramel nor any cream let alone chantilly cream! Not even sure if they know what chantilly cream is? Did the chefs there go to any culinary institute? I felt so let down and cheated, left a bad taste in my mouth. Would never go for dinner there and will write of this bad experience in all of my timeshare forums to warn them of my experience. This is a wonderful restaurant with great staff. We went here for dinner and for breakfast with shuttle rides from the Hyatt nearby. The restaurant is very charming and they even have a good kid's menu. The staff is particularly superb. The one thing that really surprised me was the prices. For an on-site dining destination, the menu was moderately priced. Usually, Four Seasons is break-the-bank. For a dinner for three, with appetizers, we spent around $150. This is a wonderful place. I had the pleasuring of trying Seasons for first time on New Year's Eve. 7 friends and I were sat at a beautiful table off of the main dining area. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, still decorated tastefully for the holidays. Our server, Jorge was prompt and knowledgeable. The chef had prepared a 3 course prix fixe menu. The selections was beautifully thought out and absolutely NYE appropriate. For the first course, there was a roasted winter vegetable salad, a crudo as well as a foie gras. The second course choices included a black cod, veal tenderloin with shortbreads and a rye cavetelli with braised goat. Third course was dessert with a mocha brownie, Parmesan cheesecake and butterscotch bundino. I struggled with deciding but chose the fish as my first course, veal and my second and brownie for dessert. Before our meals were served, an amuse bouche was sent to the table, a champagne oyster. It was simple, elegant and perfectly shucked. Our first and second courses were served promptly and did not disappoint! The food was thoughtful, seasonal, exquisitely elicited and creative. Presentation was beautiful! While we attended for a special occasion, I look forward to going back and checking out the regular menu. The dining area was beautiful, especially in the evening with the airiness of the room and fire pits. This is a truly hidden gem in Carlsbad! The only critique I could share is that maybe it is a little too hidden.. I understand the restaurant is part of the resort but I'd suggest a sign for Seasons on the main road. Restaurant is clearly understaffed. Food, while decent, took insanely long (over 2 hours for a one course brunch) and one in our party had his meal just plain forgotten. Aside from the food here being absolutely delicious with rich ingredients that include a lot of local freshness, I primarily wanted to make sure that my waiter for last night, Marcos got recognized. Marcos was so over the top excellent with his customer service!! Hands down, he was the best waiter I've ever had and definitely sets the bar high. The world needs more good energy waiters like Marcos. He knew we were there for my birthday and even went behind the bar himself to whip me a surprise drink when I asked for something fruity and refreshing. From the start, Marcos was super helpful going into details with the menu and what items he recommended. He constantly checked up on us and made sure we enjoyed each dish. At the end, he also brought out the richest chocolate delicate slice of heaven (cake) I've ever had. We made sure we tipped him extra generously cause he deserves it, and I sure hope future comers reading this review do the same for him. THANK YOU MARCOS. Okay, now onto the food! My absolute favorites were their jumbo Meatball as it had a mix of beef and pork juiciness, their Octopus starter was grilled with impressive flavors, and their Pumpkin Soup tasted just fab. I wasn't too impressed by their Spicy Shrimp dish as it wasn't spicy at all. The shrimps were nice and plump though! As for their Beef Tartar, they had the cutest little sunny side egg on top and deliciously, shaved baby carrots. Can't really go wrong with beef tartar, but it's not worth raving about it. In summary, the must try orders would include the Meatball, Octopus, Pumpkin Soup, and Chocolate Cake! They also do a need kitchen tabling special for 2, which we unfortunately didn't get to try. That special is specifically catered to your allergies, taste buds, and preferences apparently but you have to reserve it in advance by at least 24 hours, I think? Considering how wonderful Marcos and all the food was, I'll definitely make reservations for the experience if I'm ever back in this part of town. YUM! read more

I'm wowed by the fact that this level of food can be produced out of such a small place. Very elegant and well decorated, this restaurant embodies what classic California feels like: woods, lots of smiles, and short sleeves. You'll feel at home very quickly, as the staff here are fantastic. They remember your names, accomodate your dietary restrictions, and were even willing to help bring out a vegan (dairy free!) cake for my girlfriend's birthday. The food here is fantastic: it looks as good as it tastes, and it tastes very, very good. We ordered a whole bunch of their entrees and appetizers. Each was packed with fresh ingredients and flavor. Went to brunch last Saturday. In one word - Fantastic. They have a pumpkin spiced french toast that will knock your socks off. My wife said it was the best french toast she has ever had and she's tried them all. The farmers scramble was excellent. And we can't forget the service, wonderful from start to finish. Where do I start, the Seasons Restaurant has to be my new favorite spot for a nice dinner. My wife and I had dinner there last night. We had discussed going to some other fine dining establishments in the area and my wife said to give this place a try. She had been with some girl friends for lunch before and said it was good. I agreed and boy am I ever glad. Nothing like going to a restaurant expecting an average meal only to be blown away by the experience. I kept laughing telling my wife seriously this is soooooo good after each bite. We started off with the Sweet potato gnocchi. I could of had this as my meal. It was truly amazing! I knew after my first bite we hit a gold mine with this place. My wife and I found our spoons fighting over the last bite. For dinner my wife had the Jidori Chicken and I had the short rib Ossis. My meal was exceptional and without a doubt the best short rib I have ever had. Soooo tender and just melted in your mouth. My wife's chicken was an explosion of flavor and delicious. For desert we shared a tiramisu and again I was blown away by the chiefs interpretation and how well it worked. The chief's food spoke for itself, he/she is a true artist. The wait staff is exceptional and treats you like royalty. We will be going back as this is our new favorite spot. As for the price, with the appetizer, meals, each had a cocktail, desert and a tawny port our bill was very fair. We would have paid double at other fine dining establishment. I am writing this review to speak up for my my daughter and her friend, who were wronged by this restaurant and establishment. I feel compelled to say something and share our experiences. Here is the message that my daughter sent me after leaving the hotel for the day: This was my first time ever at a Four Seasons or Seasons. I came down to visit. All opinions are my own and I speak for myself here. But, as someone who had a horrendous experience here, I think I owe any potential new guests (previously like myself) a fair warning. I believe this place gave me and my friend food poisoning. I say I believe because this restaurant likes to fight it, even though we are 99% positive. We only ate ONE same thing that day yet had the same reaction. We were violently ill for days and it was the worst thing my friend said she'd ever been through. Logically, it leads back to the food here. After my friend reported it to the food manager, he was short, dismissive, unprofessional, and never apologized initially. He didn't take it seriously, even when he claimed that he did.the situation was never made right or corrected. instead, I was angered to discover that she just got a basic apology for her horrible experience. I was NEVER reached out to at all, baring in mind they knew I had food poisoning too. For that reason, I recommend going somewhere else that genuinely cares about their customers and goes to the end of the earth to make a situation right when their guests are ill (VIOLENTLY). This place not only angered us, but ultimately let me down, as someone who's parents were debating on staying here later in the year. We have now decided to go to the Westin instead! It was my first time here, and the food was just OK. Not that great. I wouldn't go their again not not only for the mediocre food, but for the mistreatment and lack of willingness to correct their many errors. However, the Counter is total 5 star James Beard style. Incredibly well thought out menu and presentation, the guest sits right up front in intimate contact with the chefs as they deftly prepare your courses. This is a hidden gem in the Aviara area of Carlsbad. We live locally and have dined there a few times now and have enjoyed their great service and food. This was the perfect meal last night in Carlsbad before heading home today. We didn't venture out of the hotel and so glad we didn't, service 100 percent on point! Attentive server who would check on us after every course just to make sure everything was culinarily satisfactory. The special appetizer was halibut and I was a little apprehensive as grapefruit was a part of it but I was so light you could barely taste it, avocado purée was like the most delicate guacamole you have ever tasted presentation was fantastic with edible flowers. Yellowtail 6oz was fantastic and caught locally it was served with Asparagus and spinach and had a wonderful zesty sauce served with it (prepared perfectly not fishy at all) the salmon had a nice char on it and was served with Brussels sprouts and a potato purée that was so delicate it was the texture of applesauce. The chef sent over a pallet cleanser I wish I remembered what he said was on it it was a light sauce on a small piece of celery with crumbled bacon. I couldn't imagine how bacon could cleanse my pallet but it was so light in flavor mixed with the celery I will never doubt the chef again! Dessert flourless chocolate cake with a gluten free marshmallow on top! I don't like marshmallow but I fell in love with this dish and it was served on a pretend oven tray which gives the impression that your Grandma just took it out of the oven. read more

This was a fun experience for sure and how can you go wrong with the Four Seasons??? Great service, fantastic food and nice ambiance. Everything fell into place for a great celebration for a birthday Happy Hour meal. We started off with a fantastic Sangria made from Pinot Noir and oven roasted fruit. The Sangria was on the dry side with just a touch or sweetness from the fruit in the glass. We ordered the burrata flatbread covered with fire roasted veggies and spots of burrata throughout. Very tasty and a great portion size for HH. Also ordered at the same time was the truffle fries drenched with lots of shaved romano-pecorino cheese and roasted cauliflower topped with blue cheese and buffalo sauce. Very tasty and flavorful, although I would have liked the cauliflower roasted just a touch longer for a more crispier, tender mouthfeel. Lastly, decided to try the sea bass made ceviche style with smoked crema, aji amarillo salsa and lime. Just a little side note as I could not resist having an additional glass of the Sangria. Very tasty and a must try if you stop in here for a bite. Our waiter, Tommy Wynn was a big hit and took care of us in grand style. Thanks Tommy. We had an amazing time. Seasons Kitchen Counter w Chef is a must and most wonderful experience! 1 + 5 course is more food than you will ever want to get in a pre-fixed tasting menu! You will get large portions and you actually see the entire preparations directly infront of you and how much care and detail hoes into each entrée. Then the chefs even deliver the food directly to you with an entire explanation of the dish. Wine pairing with the meal is definitely a must do to get entire experience and enhancement of each dish. Recommend to get last seating for the night so you get more attention from the chef of each preparation otherwise the entire kitchen gets too busy with everyone else's order. Don't be shy to talk to chef and and ask questions; all staff willing to talk and answer all your questions. read more

This was the perfect place for a quiet and low-key date night. The atmosphere was lovely. It's on the smaller side so feels a little more laid-back. We got there early, so had appetizers at the bar with a drink. Dinner was delicious with plenty of variety, even for a relatively simple post pandemic menu. Loved this spot! I grew up going to the Four Seasons for dinner and was so sad when the Hyatt took over. However, good news is the Four Seasons still owns the residence and they have finally opened it to the public! I went to the Driftwood spa in October and it was so cute, so calm, and so nice. I didn't get to go to the restaurant then, but luckily I convince a friend to go with me for a late lunch and some bubbly on NYE. And we loved it! The build out of the restaurant is super cool. It feels like you're on a patio but you're inside. The tile is great too. We two glasses of brut rosé. I got the hummus and pita (I wasn't that hungry). My friend got the Caesar. Both great amounts of food for not being too hungry. The staff was so friendly! The bartender invited us back for a NYE cheers. We talked football. We had my 60th birthday party on the chefs taxable for 12. You can select your menu and it is served family style. We had the appetizers on the patio which was set up beautifully! We. Then went in for our amazing dining experience! The pork ribs were amazing, I wish they would've brought more food out as the plates emptied. That was the only drawback.
