Original review: One of the worst business I have ever dealt with in my entire life. They are dishonest swindlers preying on the disadvantaged and needy. Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. Lie. Lie. Lie. Steal. Steal. Steal. Delay. Delay. Delay. That about sums up this business. Check them out on the BBB site too. They have an F rating and have refused to respond to the BBB's investigation of consumer complaints filed with the BBB. My son and daughter-in-law bought a washer and dryer set from here. They machines have never worked right. Washer doesn't clean the clothes and make a racket. The dryer makes horrible noised like zombies dying, and it barely dries the clothes. This place pressure them into paying cash, with the offer of a 60-day warranty of they did not pay cash and a 90-day one if they did. Of course, that makes it very hard to do anything about the defective devices. They live about 65 miles away, and they charged them $90 additional dollars for delivery. We called the place. Going to have a repair person out, and they will call next day to schedule. Three days later, no call. Called again. They will call tomorrow. Nothing. Called Monday. Was told the tech got hurt playing soccer Saturday, and it would be a couple weeks before he could come out. Unacceptable. They said the owner would call. Never did. Three calls later and they are going to replace the set instead of repairing, but they want a $250 delivery fee because of the distance. No. The owner will call us. Never did. Six calls later, and he still hasn't called. And, of course, 90 days has come and gone. Our next step is to file a complaint with the WA State attorney general. Someone needs to bring these crooks in line. Avoid this place as though it was the plague. You will be sorry if you do business with them--unless you enjoy being robbed. read more

Not sure why the hate here, I think it may be misplaced. You are going to a used appliance store, in a basement, underneath an adult store. You *will* walk out with a quality, warrantied product, with upfront pricing and a delivery option. You *do* need to set your expectations, do your homework on relative pricing, and be cool with a culture of haggling on price. It's fun! I do wish the pricing was on the models though, when I'm juggling research on 5-6 models it gets annoying. I've bought here three times, and see two types: Landlords/property developers who know what they want, and the value of what they're buying. They know the owner and the employees and have a good time chatting. The other group is coming in with something for their home, and complain about the scuffs or imperfections. They also haven't done their homework on the relative value, and appear insulted when prices are brought up. My first washer unit didn't arrive clean as Tony said it would, and I gave him a hard time about it. He apologized and made a big deal about cleaning the next ones I purchased. On delivery: They contract with several local firms, so while I believe they should be ultimately responsible, I hope to shed some light on the inconsistency. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Originally, I was going to purchase a new refrigerator for my catering business from Home Depot but gave Anthony a call after shopping around because I was in need of one ASAP (needed the extra room for food) and decided to purchase from here. I wish I would have gone with my first option. I went in and after selecting what I wanted, paid what I was told was the initial price of $275, to include the $25 tax for the appliance which was to include delivery. I made sure to ask if delivery was included and he said yes and we scheduled a time and date for the drop off. When it was time for my item to be delivered, I received a call that the time and date needed to be changed, which I was ok with. This is where the unprofessional and sketchy behavior started. Anthony had another associate (Nick) deliver my refrigerator; however, I was now informed upon his arrival, that I needed to pay an additional $100 for the delivery, which was never discussed prior, as he stated when I paid in cash that delivery was included in the fee. So now I was either going to be out of $275 for the refrigerator if I didn't pay the $100, as all sales are FINAL. Anthony and Nick had a quick conversation and I stated that this is not what we discussed and I was not happy about how they were handling business. I asked for an additional receipt for the delivery but was informed, he was not in the office but I would get one as soon as he returned via text. That was September 2023. Guess what? Never received the receipt and after several calls and messages, which went unanswered on Anthony's behalf, I felt so disrespected. 45 days after purchase, the refrigerator started malfunctioning, only keeping the freezer temperature and the refrigerator running hotter than its supposed to. So now I'm out of $375, and now have to pay to dump it somewhere. It's really sad and pitiful that they feel manipulating and scamming people out their hard-earned money is ok. This place is chaotic. There's so much going on and there's no organization. You first walk in, and there's a sea of stoves and refrigerators. You just make your way and someone will offer you help. The prices are okay. They are priced in the middle for used. For example: newer model large stainless fridge will be about $600. Same fridge would be $1200 or so. They offer layaway, but beware...you have to make a weekly payment. If you cancel, there's a fee and they will try and take your money. read more

Had to jump on here on show my guys some love. I just purchased my second dryer from Affordable Appliance. Four years ago I purchased a Kenmore washer and dryer. I was very happy with my purchase then and now. When purchasing from Affordable Appliance you have to manage your expectations. My washer still goes strong after four years but the motor in the dryer went out and I replaced it with a newer Kenmore dryer. I went to the store at 11:30 Monday morning, bought the dryer and the owner personally delivered it by 3:30 that afternoon. He set it up without a problem and took the old one away. In and out in 20 minutes. I see some reviews mention poor service and attitude. I didn't have that experience, but again, I manage my expectations. Antony is a small business owner and is originally from another country. He works very hard 7-days per week and usually only has one person answering calls, taking payments and scheduling deliveries while he does EVERYTHING else. He personally repairs and delivers these machines. Often times he'll deliver the same day as purchased. Again, I understand the pressure he is under and appreciate his time and the care he puts into his work. No, he's not perfect but he's not a mean person, he's not sketchy, he's not unethical by any means. He's a hard working, honest man, a small business owner trying to survive. People should use a little more compassion and understanding when dealing with him. I'll continue to support this small business owner, he deserves it and he's good to his customers. read more

They said they would send a tech out the next day but then they told me that his hand got broken playing soccer and won't be able to work for six months. So I have no technician for six months. We needed a new washer and decided to "reduce, reuse, recycle" thinking that we could get a used washer that had been reconditioned. We paid extra for delivery and hook up. The installer person simply hooked up the washer and made a cursory function check. Shortly after we turned on the washer we purchased at Used Affordable Appliance for $461, we knew something was wrong. It began to jump across the floor during the spin cycle. The 90 day warranty is only for repair and exchange- NO REFUNDS OF ANY KIND. The repair comes with a stipulation- IF IT IS YOUR HOUSE's fault- YOU PAY FOR THE SERVICE VISIT $80!! A fellow came out and guess what - said that our floor was not level and there was nothing wrong with the washer. Mind you, we previously had a top-loading washer that worked fine in that location. I insisted that there was something wrong with the washer - but the manager demanded payment for repair visit! I said they had been paid for installation so they should take responsibility for determining that the washer will work where it is installed. In other words the installer should have said something at installation before signing off if he felt there was a problem. The installer did not MENTION ANY PROBLEM WITH THE INSTALLATION. The store would not take responsibility for the galloping washer. Because we needed a washer that did not gallop across the basement, we bought leveling compound for $60 and carefully ensured the floor was completely level (using a carpenter's level). The problem did not stop. We even tied the washer to the floor with bungees, but the galloping washer broke the concrete leveling. We learned our lesson and will never buy a used appliance from this business. In fact, we may never purchase a used appliance again - after all the hassle and expense we found that City light offers a rebate on NEW washers. So if you want to take chances with your time and money go ahead. It is just not worth it for us. read more

My family just moved into a house with a washer and dryer that was hooked up, but non-working. I was a little skeptical about going to this place, but they seemed to have a decent inventory of appliances and claimed affordability. Both of those statements were true. I told him exactly what I was looking for and where my price point was and he pointed me to a few options, one of which I chose. He delivered it the same day and hooked everything up, despite a range of plumbing obstacles on my end that he had no obligation to help me work through. The machines have now been tested several times and they work like a charm. Bottom line: the guy went out of his way to help make sure that we were able to do laundry in the machines we purchased from him. It's hard to find service like that any more. The owner is personable and fun to chat with while he gets the job done - actually, he's got a fantastic sense of humor which I appreciate. We will definitely be buying here again. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a quality appliance without paying out of the box store pricing for it and wants it coupled with good service. read more

Bought a very affordable, and used set of a washer and dryer. The man who helped us find a set and sold it to us was very friendly and helpful. Tested the units in front of us. Obviously not entirely conclusive, but at the time it was the most he could do. He also helped us with the warranty and gave us the hoses for the washer. We're very confident these units will do their jobs well. I recommend this place if you're looking for large appliances but you're on a budget. I dropped-off an LG dryer after I finally found the place under an adult bookstore in south SeaTac. The dryer (gas) wasn't heating. They charged me $30 for a diagnosis that turned-out to be incorrect (they said the control board needed replacing to the tune of $200 to $600). I took the dryer back and had it reparied elsewhere for around $100. Turns-out it was only the gas valve itself that needed replacing and the dryer works fine now. My feeling is Affordable Appliance didn't really check anything out and went to the most expensive (and least likely) cause for this failure. Poor diagnosis and I want my $30 back. We had a great experience with this company, and we will be using them again! My husband and I usually purchase through other used appliance stores in the area, but our friend recommended that we go check these out... and we now have a new "go-to" store for our appliance needs!! The facility is completely indoors (protected appliances), has a lot of inventory to choose from, and the owner Anthony made things very easy. He is not the "pushy salesman" you're used to. He wants to know exactly what YOU want, and he will find it for you. He will help take measurements, search for specifics with you, etc. We got a great deal on three appliances. Delivery went very smoothly, he even delivered late at night to make sure it was the same day he promised. I really appreciate this guy's work ethic, and how he runs shop. Four months ago I moved into my home. I purchased a refrigerator, washer and dryer from this company. My washer was the first to break down. It had a small drip that ruined my laminate flooring. They came out three different times assuring me that it was fixed, and it wasn't. I called a different service man from the Burien area, to check it. He fixed it right away. He only charged me half price because he felt bad that I had been taken advantage of by Used Affordable Appliance. I called for a service call on my refrigerator when the unit stopped freezing. The serviceman said it had a freon leak. He had some kind of tank and he put something into the rear of the refrigerator. It worked for about a week. By that time it was out of warranty and they said they would not service it for free. I would never recommend this place. Never! read more

If we could give 6 stars we would. They have a large and diverse amount of appliance options and great customer service. My boyfriend and I bought a washer and dryer from Anthony today and he is absolutely generous and helpful. He showed us exactly what we needed for the price we were looking for and continued to provide an even better price overall when we included delivery. Even though they were about to close, seeing that we are strapped for time with the delivery, he offered to deliver same day. An hour later he HIMSELF arrived at our house with the washer and dryer. He brought them to the laundry room and proceeded to assist us in installation. Since we are new house renters we were not sure what else we needed. He replaced the power cord for the dryer as the original was too short, and provided us with the dryer duct we were missing, all at no extra charge. He installed the washer, then did a double check that they both worked perfectly. Not only is he an incredible salesman, he is quick, efficient, and sticks to his word. I bought some appliances were near $1000 and paid with cash and my credit card however they made loan on me by their collection company called Acima Now Acima asking me pay $1200. total over $1500.
