In short: only moving company i use. Used them for myself, parents, and sister for a total of 7 times in the last 10 years. Need i say more? The long: I cant even remember now how i found Sech Transportation & Mr Tim, but i think it was Yelp. Tim came out with two guys and did such a great job, I called them again to help me move my parents place. Specifically, Tim and his guys showed up on time, had good communication, and really worked hard, non-stop. Each move was challenging in its own way, and they never failed in tackling each of them(narrow doorways, small elevators, awkwardly narrow stairways, etc). I remember them taking windows out of my parents apartment when they downsized to fit a desk through the window. Same thing when I called them to move my sister's place. Oversize fridge into small top floor apartment? No problem for Sech. 6 of the 7 times, Tim led the team personally and was dripping sweat as he and his guys worked diligently to get our move completed well and quickly. Yesterday, his team came and helped move my family into our new home and his team again did a great job. This was the first time Tim wasn't on site, but nonetheless they were great. Hooked up all my appliances(fridge, washer & dryer) and adjusted doors to open from other side as new space required it. Took apart & reassembled any furniture that required it such as my king size bed. I personally called Sech 7 times, and was on site all 7 times to witness their work. 4 for myself, twice for my parents, and once for my sister. Referred other friends & family to them over the years as well. I can't speak for the other yelpers, but i've always been impressed with their performance and professionalism. Tony and Danny were amazing! I'd recommend this moving company to anyone. SECH not only has the best deal in town, but its staff is very, very professional. My move-in date was supposed to be on 8/28, anywhere from 11am-2pm. Ken updated me with their ETA starting 8:30am, which I greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, they couldn't make it because their truck broke down. I was frustrated, yes, but it was completely out of their hands. However, they apologized and came at 830am next day with a rental truck for me. Tony told me that he volunteered to work on Sunday because he felt so bad for me. Such a thoughtful guy. I had to move on New Year's Day, and the movers came on time, yet sent me a text that they will be 5 min late. SOO CONSIDERATE! Wow i have never experienced such great movers in my life! I have moved around quite a bit and EVERY other company i went with i noticed they would either charge way to much or they would take their time because they wanted to take more money from me... after finding SECH on the Internet and saw their reviews i decided to go with them. They charged me a $80/hr with 3hr minimum and NO other hidden fees like gas, mileage... etc. They came on time! 2 guys, medium size truck and i moved from a 2 bedroom apartment upstairs to a nearby house (maybe that's why no mileage or gas charge because of the close distance). I had a guys name Tim and Jose! Wow they worked so fast and well together i was so impressed! Mind you it was pouring rain this day but they still worked through it so quickly and professionally!!!! Love their service. This is 3RD TIME i used their service since they never put me down (also great price too). ITEMS MOVED: I had a queen size bed, a sofa, 1 dinning table with 4 chairs, a 55" tv and tv stand, refrigerator, microwave, lots of clothing (8 boxes) , sports gear, 2 full size desks, 2 office chairs, 1 bookcase. SIZE OF TRUCK: It all fitted their medium size truck. HOW NICE THEY WERE: My refrigerator was so hard to get out from my place, since i lived in an apartment with very very narrow stair. It took 30 minutes to just get that freaking refrigerator out but they surely made it was zero scratch. They even had to remove the front door and put it back like nothing happened. TOTAL HOURS: It took total of 4 hours to move out and in (which was crazy crazy fast because 30% was not yet packed and they packed for me). Including 18 minute trip to my new place. HOW MY ITEMS LOOKED AFTER MOVING: Not a single item was missed. They well covered my TV well. So no scratch was so ever. Has not found a single damage to the items they packed. They also reassembled my queen bed, really really well. I really love their service. Every time i get their moving service, they always meet my (high) expectation. Let me be very clear: the movers/laborers are absolutely amazing. We were very pleased with their work and tipped them as much as we could each time we did business with them (which was twice). But, based on our experience, the customer service is downright terrible. Our first move was on Christmas Day last year, and everything went smoothly until an hour or so after the movers left when we discovered that several items, including a leather recliner which was almost $1000, were missing. The leather recliner was stranded outside on the front lawn of our old house and the items were left in random areas in the house. We spoke with the business owner directly and the movers returned them promptly the next day. However, there was no apology and even a suggestion about how it was our fault the items were left behind. Despite this experience, we used them again as, honestly speaking, their rates are pretty reasonable. During the second move, the movers moved a giant mirror in the middle of our staircase to allow for maximum space. They installed it back again after everything was moved. A few hours later, while having dinner, we heard a loud crash -- the mirror fell off the wall and exploded on the staircase. We have two little children that could have been playing in that area. The mirror had been installed there for about a year and had been rough-handled by our kids throughout, and we had never had to re-adjust or re-install. Horrified, we immediately contacted the owner who started a speech about how he can't admit 100% liability, he can only give us 60 cents per pound per the contract (which is weird because no contract was ever signed for this moving job), and he was willing to take it out of his movers' tips because he "saw that we tipped them handsomely." Upset at the entire incident and even more upset at his response, we asked him more questions (when we could fit a word in) and he eventually blew up at us over the phone and abruptly hung up, after telling us he "would never do business with us ever again," and "to send over Venmo information" because he didn't want to fight over $50/60. He told us he would pay us $100 back for the broken mirror, which actually cost more than that including installation. However, we did not send him our Venmo information because we were not confident that he wouldn't take it out of his workers' tips. I never leave negative business reviews because I know how much they mean to small business owners, but this business owner, at the very least, does not understand customer service and, at the utmost, is an immature and greedy individual who blows up at his customers and is willing to take out of his workers' paychecks and tips rather than admit what has happened, apologize, and ask what he can do to better the experience. read more

With an upcoming moving date, I got recommended to this company hearing they were professional and efficient. I have to say, I am very disappointed in the way they handle their customers. I'm sure it's not always the case, but since it happened to me, I've decided to write up a review in hopes that it'll never happen again. I called in last week, wanting to reserve a spot for a date two weeks away. At the spot, they said they were fully booked and would put me on a waitlist because there was one unsure reservation. At that time, getting anxious that I won't be able to move on that date, I inquired about the day prior for a worse case scenario. (I was supposed to get my keys the day prior of my actual move in date but moving the morning prior would've been a strecth and would've left the movers waiting at the site until I got all the paperwork and keys ready. Not the best plan, however it was a back up plan.) The company told me they would call me back a couple days later to let me know if anyone cancels, and they seemed 65% sure they were going to get a spot. I waited till the day they said they'd call but didn't receive any. I waited a couple more days, but again no calls. So I decided to call in and ask if anyone had cancelled. They said they were off-site and will return the call back once they checked. They sent me a text message, letting me know they were fully booked. So, I start panicking and started looking around for other moving companies that could move on that exact date. After several tries, I finally found a company. I replied back to SECH, wishing to cancel the "prior day" move in reservation. (Note: it was the back up plan) I was actually really shocked at the response I was given. They said they cancelled it and told me that if I was thinking of hiring another moving company in the first place, I shouldn't have made a reservation with them, causing them harm. They also added they will refuse my service on forth. Was I shocked? Yes. I didn't expect that response at all. It sounded like they were scolding me when I was trying to respect their service. I wanted to hire them for my move, but after that I'm glad that our schedules didn't work out. I don't think I'll ever recommend this place to anyone. I'm disappointed in how they handled my situation, and not to mention how rude they were. read more

I referred my mom to this moving company from my prior experience with them which was excellent, but they happened to get one worker who tried really hard but the other (who I think was just a stand by filling in because they were short on staff) who was really not up to the task. He was so incompetent that he slowed down the whole moving process by HOURS. Seriously. I don't know if my mom decided to say anything to the company, as she doesn't like to make a big fuss and she also feels sympathetic for the workers. So I had a great experience with them first time I used them. I recommended them to my friends and one of my friends that ended up using them also had a great experience. When I had to move again, I asked Sechs to help with my move. The movers were late by an hour. Which was fine because I wasn't under time constraint - however the workers had to be in Orange County right after my move so they ended up rushing the entire move (Although I was paying for their services for 3 hours... they were trying to finish it in 2 hours so they could go to their next job) and was careless with all my stuff. One of the movers was very efficient while the other person (who was obviously new) was mostly just standing around and not working too much, making the other person work twice as hard. They wrapped things too tightly, breaking bunch of my picture frames and also lost my mirror hanger. I also watched in horror as my expensive stand up desk and bed side table rolled off of their truck (they didn't put the brakes on on the wheels of the desk) and crashed into the ground. Luckily I had put padding on the desk (it scratches easily) so that was ok but the bed side table was completely destroyed. I was pissed because it was my newest furniture...They ended up paying me back for the furniture at least. Since they paid me back and they had the lowest rates, I made a mistake of using their services again. I figured it can't go that badly again... once again big mistake. They were in less of a hurry this time but I watched in horror (again) as my stack of boxes fell from their truck. My newest lamp was on the top (without any padding) so it was all scratched (it worked at least). They told me they would replace anything they have broken. I asked couple of days after the move (with pictures) for reimbursement of the damaged items and at first he was replying but after awhile the mover stopped replying back to me. I had to go on facebook and message the service and they told me the mover stopped working there. He also said they reimburse by the pound so the picture frames they have destroyed were altogether worth like 10 dollars... And I was furious because 1. the mover had told me they would reimburse me for the amount of the damaged goods (3 picture frames, 1 mirror hanger, 1 damaged lamp (I actually said lamp was ok because it was scratched but still working fine)). 2. If it's by the pound, what would've happened if they damaged some electronics (tvs and what not) - would my 400 dollar tv still be worth only like 20 dollars? Anyways they reluctantly paid me back but told me I was no longer welcome as a customer.. and I'm like are you kidding me? There's no way in hell I would ever use their services again after 2 moving fiascos. read more

My first experience with this company back in 2015 was great. A few furniture was damaged but it was IKEA one and I didn't claim anything back then. Nothing serious issue during the moving. This time, I contacted them again through FB message since they never picked up the phone call and never reached back to me. Only getting one response message a day for my question and they don't even read my message for days. I'm not getting response that I need to decided if i want to hire this company. The moving guys were really fast and efficient and they seem really nice people. However, the real problem was revealed after the move. After the guys left I couldn't find my AirPods which I just purchased 2 days ago. They were on the kitchen countertop as I remember but they were gone. I checked everywhere (I really wanted to find the AirPods as I didn't want to suspect them) but I couldn't find them. The thing is that Find My on my iPhone was showing the last time that I connected to my AirPods was during our move where the movers were at my house. I never opened or touched the AirPods during the move. I messaged the owner about the issue but never received a response from him. I wouldn't recommend this company. read more

Today, I moved from San Diego to LA (100+ miles roughly 2-3 hours) and they were absolutely amazing. My boyfriend kept telling them they were so efficient lol. Anyways, the first time my mom called they told her they'd come at 10 AM. She called back a few days later and they said they would be willing to come by earlier at 9 (since we wanted to beat traffic). They came around 9:20 instead of 9:00 AM due to traffic, but called in advance to let me know. Once they started packing (9:30) they sped through it so fast. There were two workers, one was a Korean who was older (I'm sorry, I never got your name) and another who he called Mr. Kim who was younger. Anyways, these two were quite fast. They loaded/disassembled in about two hours. I have a one bedroom apartment with a really, really slow elevator and they had to go through parking gates, so I think that's pretty outstanding. After, they said they would be leaving now (same time as us) but would be arriving later than us (passing truck scale & short lunch). My boyfriend and I then headed to LA and arrived a bit earlier than they did. When they arrived, he told me that Mr. Kim had to go get his vehicle since he has another job to go to after so he would be taking time off due to the delay (we didn't mind). They finished assembling and unloading in maybe 1 hr 30-45 min. They were very helpful and double checked if there were any damages/if we needed any other assistance. They truly never stopped working. I only feel bad that I wasn't able to buy them lunch or anything, but I guess that was made up for in the tip. I would love to hire them again the next time I moved bc of the great job they did and their diligence! read more

I remember when they first started this transportation company (1 truck and 3 guys). I've been using them since. They work hard and are fast. DId I mention they're cheap cheap cheap. I moved from Tustin to La Mirada using only a 16ft box truck. We had to make 2 trips, because all my furniture didn't fit in the truck, and they were still faster then the normal moving company. I had an appointment at 8am. They arrived at 8am and started knocking things out immediately, as soon as they entered my home. Highest recommendation. You must try them before using anyone else. I used SECH Transportation for a recent move of mine. This was a fairly small move only needing a bed/ bed-frame, nightstand, and dresser moved. Mike and his associate were friendly and diligent, but they damaged every piece of furniture I had them move! I first noticed chipped paint on my dresser. I showed it to Mike and he said he would send me some kind of concealer to fill in the damage via mail (never received it). I then examined the bed frame to find out his associate used the wrong screws and drilled two holes through the frame! As for the night stand, there were random dents on the inside of one of the drawers. For such a small move I didn't think my furniture would receive so much damage. It's safe to say my first experience with movers was no bueno. read more

No complaining and just extremely helpful with an amazing attitude. Mr. Tim (the manager) was an excellent leader and was very efficient. Even when we headed from my (now old) home to this new home, this team was careful to slow their speed and drive around bumps or holes.
