But, after reading reviews and locking the address into my GPS, we were committed. The food did not disappoint. Husband ordered a Philly Cheese Steak. Probably the best we had ever had. Cheesy, loaded, veggies were not over cooked. We had a Philly at the Puyallup Fair this summer and that was a huge disappointment. This sandwich sure made up for our previous summer experience. Fries her toasty hot and have the crunchy coating. I hate crinkle cut, so this another added layer of happiness. I ordered a classic single with cheese and added grilled onions. Choose their house SBK sauce vs mayo. The 1st 3 bites were amazing. Loved the crunchy edges of the warm bun and the edges of the burger itself. I tend to get under cooked meat, that was not an option with this burger. It was smashed so thin you could see through it along the edges. But, honestly I liked that. BUT, by bite 4 I got a good taste of the SBK sauce. The receipt says mild, my taste buds revolted and my eyes started to water. Too spicy for me!! The 1st taste of the SBK sauce tasted like the Red Robin sauce. I would definitely come back again, but pass on the house sauce. Food ordering is at a self service kiosk. Would not tip this high next time as I didn't speak to anyone and or was not serviced beyond thank you at delivery. Being from Southern Cali I really wasn't expecting much with it inside a Holiday inn. To my amazement I was surprised that the burger was soooo good. I got the signature double smash with fries and had to stop mid grubbing to get this pic for you. If you ever come to Tacoma WA. Give them a try you will not be disappointed. Went and tried this place out due to the hype. The service was welcoming,friendly and fast. The ambiance is a rundown Holiday Inn lobby. The signature smash was small but tasty but not worth $16... not even close. The strawberry drip milkshake was not really a milkshake. It's that ice-milk stuff. Not creamy at all. I wish Yelp offered 1/2 stars because 3 1/2 stars is more fitting than 3 but I just cannot give SBK 4 stars. Husband had a Signature Smash bacon burger and the Unicorn Crunch shake. He liked the burger and shake. I took a sip- it wasn't that thick- it got runny pretty fast. Husband liked the Fruity Pebbles though. I ordered the Signature Smash Cheeseburger and fries. The burger was really good - it is nice you can personalize your burger ( although it adds up ). If you want sauce for fries, you pay for it- only option is for 2 for 1.00 yet you only need one for the small amount of fries you get- which is fine because although they were crispy- the coating or taste of them are not my fave type of fries (I think most of us have our preferences so nothing wrong or awful with SBK fries- just not my preferred kind). What should get 4 to 5 stars is the staff! Super friendly & helpful! The restaurant was clean. Downside is that the cost is a bit high for the food with zero ambiance. I also understand that higher prices is just the new norm. I think it is an expensive place to take the family though. I don't think I would go out of my way to eat here but I wouldn't rule it out if in the area. It should give the Holiday Inn a boost to have tasty burgers on the premises. Yes it's a bit of a secret finding this place as it's inside a hotel. I found the burger good but not great for $14.95 and no sides! The burger should be something special . They used canned mushrooms, my onions were hardly sautéed, there was no cheese and my daughter found a hair in her gluten free bun and she said the gluten free bun was terrible! I found this place by accident, but I'm really glad I did. At first, I was a little hesitant about the price, but it was absolutely worth it. Don't let the somewhat strange feeling location (inside a Holiday Inn just off I-5 in South Tacoma) fool you or scare you away. Had the chance to meet Shay Pate and one of her staff members and walked away impressed and ready to return. Impeccably clean restaurant for dining in (it's essentially the hotel's bright and comfortable breakfast room) and delicious burger. Honestly, the star of the basket was the fries. Deliciously crisp, not greasy, and the perfect side to the yummy burger. It's worth the stop and return visits. We ordered a Mission Classic 1/4 Pound Hand Formed Smash Patty, Onion, (minus the lettuce), Secret Sauce, served with fries. We also ordered a Fiery Field Op -1/4 Hand Formed Patty topped with grilled Serrano & Jalapeño Peppers, Yellow American Cheese, (minus the onion, lettuce), Secret Sauce, and Spice & Herb Blend Served with a side of fries. The first time I came here I just thought oh wow this is a hidden gym since it's located inside of a hotel and when I researched nachos near me and found this place I actually didn't know it was located inside a hotel. I started to be sketch, but decided to still give it a try I went in. It was very nice. Ambience was great so I ordered on the screen and got nachos and a burger the nachos and burger were really good and I thought I have to come back with My husband and i did come back with my husband and I don't know it just wasn't as good as the first time But it just tends to be like that sometimes but the service is great. We got our food home and saw that neither burger had mustard, and one had mayo. Burgers are supposed to come with lettuce and onions, and neither burger had onions. After searching reviews on this app I chose to try this Secret Burger Kitchen. I asked the server what one of the best burgers in his opinion and for the life of me I cannot remember the name of it however it had cilantro and cucumbers with other dressings. The burger was perfect in every aspect! My only mistake was not ordering a double. The fries were good. They have different choices of sauce to go with your burger and fries, I picked the house and it paired perfectly with my meal. The picture doesn't do it justice. It's nice to have a nice place like this in an area that so badly needs it. Good food, great service. Clean seating area. My only complaint is that it is pretty expensive, for a place where you order yourself, AND pay yourself at a kiosk and seat yourself, it just seems like the prices would be more reasonable. $33 dollars for two 1/4 pound burgers, fries, and two ice waters. ... food was good though... A big group of us went we tried the wings, smash burgers, chicken burgers, fries, chocolate cake, and pineapple upside down cake. Everything came out super fast but really fresh and hot.
