This place is a hidden gem! I love trying out new places for my birthday so we decided to try this place for breakfast and it was a great choice! Food was delicious! And the staff was friendly and always there to ask if we needed anything. Chilaquiles was on point! Getting half red and half green gave me the opportunity to try out both sauces and they were both so good! I love it when there's a slight kick but not too much to over power the entree. Some places make it way too spicy, but this place had it perfect!! The chips were still crunchy even with all the flavorful sauce they added. It was the best chilaquiles I've ever had! The huevos rancheros was really good too and had so much flavor. Definitely will be coming back again soon! Not in the best location as the shopping center is a bit run down and it looks a bit sketchy, so just be careful with parking and being aware of your surroundings.

Not much of a long wait, but I totally understand. People sure love this place. Really tasty food. My chile relleno burrito was so delicious and the salsas were flavorful. I'd definitely come back!

My sister had tried this place and told us rave reviews about the food. So we had to try it. I dunno if it was an off day or not but service was not great. We came on a Sunday after around 1... we tried giving the benefit of the doubt that they are busy and it is a small place. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated and at least the host was nice enough to update us about our table. When our table was finally ready and We were seated it took about 10 minutes for someone to actually come and greet us and take our order. We were greeted and then we were told she would come back but it took another 10 minutes before she came back and took our order. We were a party of 3 and all asked for water and cafe de olla. We ordered 2 chorizo bowls, a side of churro pancakes and a dirty burrito with Birria. Another 10 minutes later we had no water and no cafe de olla. My husband had to get up and physically ask for our drinks. We got the cafe de olla but never got our waters. I totally understand that it is a mom and pop place and it was busy but nobody checked on us until our food arrived. The two chorizo bowls arrived first and then another 10 minutes passed and finally my burrito came. They forgot our churro pancakes and we had to again ask for it and then that took another 10 minutes and by then we were getting full and almost done with our food . No one checked on us until we were the last few tables left in the restaurant and we asked for the check. And she still had the nerve to cleans up 3 other tables before giving us the check. The food was good. The tortillas tasted fresh and handmade. The chorizo bowl was filling and the Birria inside the dirty burrito was soft and flavorful but just by the experience we had I would not go back.

It's located in a non descript corner with other shops, you could easily miss it since it's not in a main road. Parking is free & ample. I found it on Yelp when looking for local brunch spots as my usual faves are closed by 2 pm. At 3 pm, only a couple of customers were dining. Hubby & I went in & sat as our server, Tiffany greeted us. She seems sweet & welcoming. The shop is fairly small which can accommodate about 40 people. Immediately, my eyes gravitated to the tres leches maiz waffle & it may be combined with eggs, potatoes & turkey sausage or bacon to make a meal. Hubby, of course, ordered his chorizo bowl. When I inquired about the maiz flan (read on Yelp reviews), Tiffany apologized that they're sold out, awaiting delivery from local baker. The food arrived in no time & my waffles smelled divinely captivating. These tasted so good, I like the somewhat coarse texture because of the corn. I tasted Hubby's chorizo bowl & it was really good, he loved it!! As we were savoring our delicious meals, I glanced at one lady carrying large foil trays into the restaurant & my heart skipped a beat.... Could it be the... oh yes it was!!! Our server greeted her & told her, "Oh good, they're waiting for the maiz flan, it's the reason they came". Happy joy joy. All is right with the world. Hubby selected the banana cream flan flavor-- DO NOT MISSS OUT. It is phenomenal. Now I wish I had known about this place when we lived in Montclair. It requires a special trip

Chilaquiles "divorciados" with skirt steak

Great service. This restaurant is full of personality. The chilaquiles were ok. Ok flavor. What through me off was the added fee to make them half green and half red "divorciados" , why? I added a side or skirt steak for $9 extra. The portion of that skirt steak fit inside the palm of my hand. Not worth the cost. My favorite thing and reasonably price item was the café de olla. Great cup of coffee.

Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday on a Friday morning, and there was no wait. The space is small with limited indoor seating and no outdoor seating. Everything on the menu looked so good--it was honestly hard to decide. I ended up getting the chilaquiles with steak, with half green and half red sauce. It wasn't spicy at all (which I loved), but the flavor was amazing. They also bring salsas to the table, so you can add heat if you want. My husband got the chilaquiles with green sauce and really enjoyed them, but said next time he'd go for the half red and half green like mine. My mom ordered the chile relleno burrito--she said it tasted good, but it wasn't what she expected since the chile relleno seemed to be diced and mixed inside rather than whole. For drinks, I ordered the dirty horchata. If you enjoy a strong coffee flavor, I'd definitely recommend it--it had a great balance and wasn't overly sweet. My husband got a regular horchata as well. I had plenty of leftovers and even enjoyed them for breakfast the next day. Overall, everything was delicious. I would definitely come back and recommend this spot to others. Can't believe I've passed by it so many times--this might be my new go-to breakfast place!

4/3/26 SeD Cocina Montclair, CA... I met up with 3 good friends here today on Good Friday! Didn't know this place was so close to home. I ordered a chili relleno wet burrito with green salsa on top. It was really good! I also had a try of my friend's Très Leches Maiz Waffles. So yummy! Nice little place. Allison was a nice server. This place filled up quickly. Come check this place out!

Sed Cosina is an amazing place to eat! Their recipes are inspired by authentic Mexican cuisine, and the owner has created a unique fusion of Mexican and American flavors--the best of both worlds. The food is delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The service is outstanding, friendly, and quick. They also now offer delicious café lattes in a variety of flavors. I highly recommend Sed Cosina to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

Delicious! Husband and I went on a quick breakfast date before an appointment. Cute little spot we found on yelp. Stopped in and there was a sign on the window that said "best chilaquiles in the IE". Of course I had to order those. Choice of red or green. I went divorciados which is half and half. Delish! Homemade flavors. 10/10. My husband ordered the breakfast with the tres leches maiz waffle. I am usually good with just a taste of sweet stuff but I went home and craved this! Not overly sweet. Definitely between a waffle and cornbread. So good! Definitely be back when we are in the area. beware that if you put your name down with the host, DO NOT GO TO YOUR CAR. I made the mistake in waiting in my car because the host stated it would be 45 min until me and my mom sat down. They don't take your phone number down, they just call your name out. The called me earlier than the 45 minutes and I was crossed out from the list. Everyone after me got a table and I had to be put down on the list again. That was my fault and my first time here. Overall, the food and drinks came out pretty fast! Everything we ordered was so fresh and delicious! We ordered the dirty horchata with chilaquiles and the tres leches waffle trio.

It was our first time eating at SeD Cocina and it was delicious! My daughter treated me to breakfast and we decided to try a new place. We were not disappointed. We were greeted right away as we entered. Our server was kind, attentive and made great recommendations. I had the chilaquiles in green salsa. My daughter had the chorizo burrito bowl. Both tasted great! We also had their cafe de olla, but instead of hot, we tried it iced. Also yummy Overall, our experience was great from the food to the hospitality and the price. We will definitely be returning. There are so many other things on the menu that I would like to try!

This is a super good little restaurant. It has the same food vibes as cocina35 in San Diego. I was pleasantly surprised the ingredients were extremely fresh. I had the huevos rancheros. It had a little different spin. It was delicious. The service was outstanding as well. read more

Man oh man, this spot is small and unassuming, and if you drive the block to fast you will miss it but when you get inside, STANDBY. The food, the service, the atmosphere is above 5 stars. This meal was unreal from the first bite to the last. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with bold, authentic flavor. The birria was incredibly tender and juicy, with a rich, deep sauce that was savory, comforting, and addictive. Dipping each bite into that consommé took it to another level. The crispy, golden tortilla had the perfect crunch without being greasy, and the fresh toppings balanced everything beautifully. The rice and beans were spot on--simple, flavorful, and the perfect complements to the main dish. You can tell this food is made with care and pride. This place has only been open a month and was pretty empty when we showed up for lunch. Hopefully people discover it soon because it's so good! We tried a variety of tacos and they were all delicious. The highlight was the birria - so tender and delicious. Or maybe it was the deliciously fresh slaw on the shrimp taco. We also got a horchata and Jamaica. Both were just the right level of sweetness. My son chugged his horchata even before his meal came. But bonus! They gave him a free refill. Went to breakfast with some girlfriends and wanted to meet in the middle. Stumbled across this cute little spot tucked in the corner of a strip mall. The interior of the restaurant was clean and cute. It was empty when we went (9ish AM on a weekday) and we were served promptly. I had coffee and these beautiful churro pancakes (and eggs, bacon, and potatoes). The food was really good. Service was fast. Will return again to try something new. read more

The food here was really good and everything tasted delicious. The servers were very nice and polite, and overall we had a pleasant experience. The only downside was that they forgot a few things throughout the meal--like utensils, straws, and some small items we asked for--so we had to remind them a couple of times. Nothing major, but it did slow things down a bit. Prices were on the higher side, but the quality of the food made it worth it. I'd still recommend trying this place out! read more

If you haven't been to Sed Cocina yet, you're seriously missing out! This spot is a hidden gem in Montclair serving up some bomb brunch and now even better with Oli's Tacos on the menu! Let's start with the tres leches waffles -- absolutely insane. Sweet, soft, and soaked just right without being soggy. Each bite is dessert-level delicious. I also tried the TED Toast, and wow. It comes loaded with fresh guac, a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg, and tender skirt steak. It's savory, satisfying, and definitely one of my new go-to orders. And the cherry on top? They're now serving Oli's Tacos! If you know, you know. The locals are hyped for a reason -- these tacos are fire. Super flavorful, juicy, and worth the trip alone. Great food, great vibes, and now with tacos in the mix? Sed Cocina is doing it right. read more

Food was okay. The portions are good and the menudo was good. The concha's tasted a bit stale. The cafe de olla was okay, it needed a bit more coffee and the green salsa that came with the birria tacos was a little too salty. Service was not great. We got called in almost at 1pm. We had been waiting an about 40 minutes to get seated because it is a small place. Food came out quick however, when we finished I was still drinking my coffee and there were people in another table that had been there since before we even got seated and we were asked to leave. We understand it's a small place but we spent maybe 20 minutes eating why couldn't you rush the people who had been there since before we even got there. Please warn your customers you're going to be rushed out the door. Or have a sign saying there's a time limit. read more

I discovered this place on Tik Tok and wanted to try it out with my family. Sadly I do not think we will be returning. I will start with the good and then the bad. First off the food was delicious!! I'm very picky about my breakfast spots especially Mexican or Latin spots. Though I will say the food was quiet tasty. We got an order of the sampler with three different tacos, chilaquiles, pancakes, and chips and guacamole. The food was good, though the wait times were actually ridiculous! Moving onto why I put three stars is because the service was extremely SLOW!!!!!! I also want to say I do NOT BLAME THE EMPLOYEES at all!!! I completely understand they can only do their best with what's at hand. I truly felt bad for the one waitress because she had all the tables to serve, take drinks to, have to take orders, and do everything. There was eventually help later but poor lady was doing everything by herself! So we arrived at 11:17 and didn't actually eat till 1:17!! 2 hours later !!! I wish the lady in the front was more transparent about the wait time. Let the customers decide if they want to wait, not give them an unrealistic wait time (which we were told 30-40 mins). I wasn't expecting the employees to rush other customers to eat or magically make new tables appear. I just wish she would've been more transparent about the wait time and let us decide what we wanted to do (because she was also telling EVERYONE it was 30-40 mins). Which mathematically doesn't add up if you are telling everyone 30-40 mins?? So finally when we sit down, we were informed that only one waitress was working. 5 mins go by... 10 mins...then 15 and now 20 mins go by and no one has came to our table to even get our drinks. Once again I truly felt bad for the waitress!! Finally we have to flag someone down to just get our drinks. We ordered an appetizer of chips and guacamole thinking it will come out before our food but of course there was another delay and all the food came out together. By then we were just hungry and just wanted to eat and leave. So all-in-all, I just want to say I DO NOT BLAME THE STAFF!! They can only do so much!! I blame the management for putting all that on one waitress!! That is so unrealistic and unfair to her ! She ends up getting the short end of the stick because she is the one dealing with the hungry and angry customers!! So I hope this reaches management and they can change some things! All the staff was very friendly and once again I do not blame the waitress or even the cooks or anyone working!! It appears the staff is extremely hard working but just need help especially at peak times like Saturday mornings!! I blame management for allowing that to happen! We would've loved to return but the wait time was just ridiculous! Also my plate came with burnt onions! By that time I was so hungry and didn't even bother asking for a new taco because I didn't want to wait again. read more

Walking in the place looks really nice and clean. Their version of the surf n turf burrito is the best ive had. Its season perfectly and to top it off its wrapped in a cheese crust. The salsa was really good and authentic I know a good salsa when I taste one. Overall great experience and really delicious food. This is my new favorite place to stop by to get breakfast. I stumbled across this restaurant when I was in the area and I have no regrets. My boyfriend & myself decided to stop when I saw they have chilaquiles!their service was amazing they are attentive and very kind The food is amazing and the mimosas are delicious. Once a month, my girlfriends and I get together to catch up with each other. Therefore, we are always looking for new places to try. We seen SED on social media and we all said let's go give this place a try. Unfortunately I don't think I (We) would go back. The food was good but not enough to endure the crappy service. We had to ask three times for a refill on our coffee (even though she said she would be back to refill our cups and never did). The Food took forever to arrive, we waited an hour to be seated because it's so small, then once we paid, she disappeared and never brought the bags she offered us to carry our food out. They also charge $3.50 to pay with a card(non-cash). Social media is really overhyped for this place and experience. read more

Fantastic Lunch at SeD Cocina My wife and I stopped by SeD Cocina for lunch after seeing a video showcasing their food, and we're glad we decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the quaint café atmosphere. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and had a warm, inviting feel. The staff greeted us right away and made us feel genuinely welcomed. We didn't have to wait at all and were seated immediately, which made for a great start to our visit. To begin, we shared the esquite, which was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. It was the perfect appetizer to get our meal started. For my entrée, I ordered the Chile Relleno Burrito with Carne Asada. The carne asada was perfectly seasoned, and I loved the lightly grilled exterior of the burrito, which added great texture and flavor. My wife ordered the Chilaquiles Verdes, and they were exceptional easily some of the best we've had. The flavors were balanced perfectly, and it was a standout dish of the meal. The salsas were also very tasty and complemented the food well. My only suggestion would be to offer a spicier salsa option for those of us who enjoy a little more heat. The Mulitas: Chicken and Carnitas: My wife opted for the mulitas--one chicken and one carnitas. She was pleasantly surprised by the quality. This morning, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant for breakfast. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner. The food was nothing short of amazing! We ordered chilaquiles and the uniquely delicious "tres leches maiz waffles." We ordered Horchata and cafe de olla. The Horchata was refreshingly authentic, while the cafe de olla was rich and aromatic, adding a perfect touch to our breakfast. The owner's friendliness added a personal touch to our visit. Montclair, you have a gem! We came here for brunch and it did not disappoint. The service was so friendly it felt like we were eating at a friend's house -- except the food was way better. We started with their homemade café de olla (hello, cinnamon heaven ), then dove into huevos divorciados with skirt steak (perfectly juicy!) and the chilaquiles with birria (melty, saucy, dreamy). We came to Sae Cocina for my mom's birthday and absolutely loved everything! The food was incredible -- full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and so tender. first time here with the kiddos. agua frescas were so good! not like those powder ones. i've never seen an item on the menu for birote with frijoles and cheese and this was a staple in our home. tasted like i was eating at my moms house. husband had huevos rancheros with carne asada and man he ate that thing so fast. the cafe de olla tasted like my moms. i'm not one to rate restaurantes but this one needed the highlight it deserves. service was quick and friendly. place was super clean and not over crowded with stuff. cant wait to make this my families new breakfast spot. read more
