This place is one of the few places in NYC right now that is actually worth the hype. In terms of the location, it's weird because it's not where the GPS will tell you it's actually around the corner. Of course there is like no parking you will have to pay to park in a garage however the ambiance inside is so cute. Love the decor you have to go up a few steps though since the restaurant is upstairs. Everybody was attentive and nice from the waiter to the hostess. Loved the Saketini drink and all food was fresh. They even had creme brûlée and the salt and pepper prawns were amazing. I will be back!

My husband and I came here for our 1 year wedding anniversary dinner and we were both satisfied. We had a reservation for 8pm and were seated immediately. It also wasn't crowded, but it started to fill up a bit as the night progressed. The ambiance is upscale chic and they had 90s-2000's R&B playing which is right up my alley. I also appreciate that the volume was at an appropriate level to allow for table conversation. We started with the "Sei Less Drink More" cocktail (very passion fruit forward) and cucumber cooler which my husband ordered as a mocktail. The drinks were pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. For appetizers, we had the tempura rock shrimp and Peking duck spring rolls, which were both really tasty. For the main course, we had the lobster fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and black pepper steak. All were flavorful, but my only gripe was that my steak didn't come out super hot like the other items. Within a couple of minutes it was barely warm. I also felt like the sauce was a bit thick for my taste. Our waiter was attentive and personable, which was nice. This restaurant is expensive and gratuity is included, so no extra tip is necessary. Overall experience was good, but it's a one and done kind of place.

The food is great! I enjoyed the proportions and the ambience is enchanting. If you enjoy a good authentic Asian meal I'd checked this place out. The service is great as well the waitresses and waiters as well as a host are all very nice and welcoming. This place is a bit pricey though. I didn't even get a full course meal yet my meal came up to $310 . It was worth the experience nonetheless.

Love sei less. It's always a vibe. The food is great and the drinks are top tier. I'm always going to get the lychee martini. It's creamy, balanced and worth the calories. The lemon drop my other go to was good as well. The chicken satay I'm always going to get because the peanut sauce is gonna do it for me every time. Sei less is perfect for all occasions !

The dumplings were melt in the mouth. The music straight up set the mood .The service was excellent. The lo main was sweet to my liking so the server immediately changed it for another dish . A banging spot in midtown Manhattan that is open till late.

Okay, I'm going to give a heads up that I have very few pictures to share, because when the food came it was The Hunger Games, y'all. Went with a group of 14 or so, and we sat in the side room that was big enough it could have likely seated up to 20 or 25. This size was perfect. After cocktails, we shared a bunch of different appetizers -- chicken satay, a variety of dumplings, spring rolls. Everything was excellent, although I will say I didn't love the chicken satay. It was breaded and the peanut sauce tasted more buttery than peanutty. Don't get me wrong -- I still ate it, I'm not an ANIMAL... So it was good, just not what I was used to. Main courses? Two words for you: SESAME CHICKEN. This is not your average, hole-in-the-wall, Chinese takeout place sesame chicken (which is still pretty darn good) -- it was light, the chicken was tender, and the sauce had something addictive in it, not sure what it was, but I couldn't stop eating it. We also had the pepper beef which was excellent -- again, extremely tender beef, with a sauce that had a lovely kick to it. I had only a little bit of the noodles and fried rice that were circulated. I was definitely getting my protein on! Find a way, somehow, someway, to save room for dessert. How can an Asian fusion restaurant also be an outstanding bakery? Not sure whether they get their desserts from outside or make them themselves, but again, we circulated two platters of small desserts that they cut up for us so we could have a small piece of each. Cheesecake, strawberry tart, creme brûlée that was more like a cross between cheesecake and a traditional creme brûlée, and a magical chocolate THING whose name was, I think, "Oh my god this is so good." I cannot wait to return to this restaurant. It's an oasis of deliciousness with a speakeasy feel. Highly recommend!

Sei Less has a nice ambiance and is definitely a more high end/pricey place. I got the hot and sour soup to start and it was good and came in a large quantity for an appetizer. It tasted really good with white rice. The vegetable spring rolls were okay and not very crispy, I wouldn't get them again. The edemame was really good. I also got the vegetable dumplings and veggie Lo mein. I was happy with the amount of vegetarian options on the menu. The Lo mein was pretty good but I didn't love the dumplings. Decent service here as well.

Beautiful restaurant where you may spot a celebrity. Food and service were really good and prices and portions were actually proportionate in my opinion. Kung pao chicken w/jasmine rice-menu says with peanuts (traditional) however it came out with sesame seed glazed walnuts which was different for me, but a nice counter to the spice of the chicken. Really tasty, just a smidge salty Lobster spring rolls-really delicious King crab fried rice-delicious but king crab was a little hard to find and overall a smidge salty Shrimp lettuce wraps-delicious and didn't skimp on the shrimp Will most definitely return 9/10

Came here with a friend for dinner and a little celebration--per usual, he picked the spot (and did not disappoint). I arrived a bit ahead of our reservation, so I grabbed a seat at the bar to wait, sipping on a beer. Once we were seated, our server greeted us right away--friendly, attentive, and efficient. Now, onto the good stuff: the food was absolutely delicious. The standout for me? The Short Rib Bao Buns--perfectly tender meat wrapped in pillowy-soft buns with just the right balance of richness and flavor. Everything we ordered was thoughtfully prepared, and what really impressed me was how clean and light the dishes tasted. Given the fusion-Asian influence, I expected heavier, oil-forward fare--especially with the fried items--but that wasn't the case at all. Each dish was flavorful without feeling greasy or overdone. The space itself has a cozy, intimate vibe--ideal for date nights or small group dinners--and the playlist added a nice touch to the overall ambiance. One heads-up: they include gratuity automatically in the bill, so keep an eye out to avoid double-tipping (my friend almost did!). All in all, a fantastic spot for modern Asian flavors done right, with great vibes to match.

Don't be fooled by the Instagram-able interior. The food isn't that good. One thing I hate, is spending money on bad food! My bill was $194 for two people, and I cannot say I enjoyed any of it. Let's get into it... First and foremost... you cannot lie to me when it comes to top shelf and house liquor. I ordered two drinks (cognac punch and a Side car) both drinks were made with well liquor despite the menu stating it was made with Hennessy. The drinks are $20 and NOT WORHT more than $7 happy hour prices. Bring cash! They up charge about $20 if you use a card! Also, 20% gratuity is also included on every bill. Next, the food. I ordered the fried vegetable dumplings. They were green and not at all fried. More like pan seared. The Taste wasn't that good and I only ate them because I was hungry. They were a (4/10) For dinner I had the vegetable lo mein, which only had Broccoli and cauliflower in it. I was expecting a medley of veggies like mushrooms, peppers, carrots... it also had a sweet taste to it that I didn't enjoy. Overall, if you want footage for social media... I guess go, but if you actually want a good meal, it's not worth the price. Pros: a photographer goes around and takes pics that you cannot for. It's placed in a beautiful glass frame that I love. If you go on a Friday or Saturday especially in the evening I would recommend making reservations! Went here on a whim for my friend's bday since our original plans fell through. The hostess was so kind and allowed us to grab a table (without reservations) with ab hour time limit. We both had the lychee martini (this is made with coconut rum so it's on the creamy side) which was hitting. The lobster rolls were delish and the BBQ spare ribs slapped. I had the passion fruit prawns...didn't love. Way too sweet & i didnt enjoy! My friend had chicken fried rice which was really good! We happened to mention to the hostess it was my friend's bday & u think because of her my friend got dessert with a candle & a happy bday sign plus they gave us 2 free shots which was nice. A bit pricey, good for a date night or bday dinner. Would come back with reservations! read more

Stopped in for dinner and drinks with my best friend while in NYC. The staff and service were very professional. The ambiance takes you away from the city feel and puts you in a beautiful dark emigrant place, I loved that they played great music. Definitely recommend for drinks and food. read more

OVER RATED!!! Upon arrival with a reservation we still had to wait 30mins to be seated so we headed to the bar for drinks. Drinks are super expensive. Finally we were seated, my friend asked for a bigger table they told use they hold there bigger tables for quest who normally frequent there ... like the daily money makers that come often and famous people. The food portions are not worth the money it cost for the dish and the food was BLAH!!!! After we were seated an older Caucasian party of 4 came in they were seated at a table like ours but guess what ....... They asked to be moved to a bigger table and they were moved. Ok ll never go back or recommend anyone. DON'TWASTE YOUR TIME!!! Wait that's not the worse part lol two bathroom stalls were down ... that's bazaar for the amount of money you spend. And they use Ruth Chris pens lol get yal own! Your food is removed before your done eating. The lobster Rolled were those that come frozen out the box to be heated up or microwaved. The sea bass was the size of two chicken nuggets and it comes with nothing but sauce. read more

Vibe was decent, but the service was trash and the food very overpriced and mediocre. Go look at the other 2/3 star reviews and believe them. Dirty wine glasses, cold Red wine, vegan options are non existent and the waiter did even know if it was possible to make vegan dishes despite them advertising they have vegan options. They had a private party ( for FABOLOUS) and rushed us out the restaurant constantly hovering over the table. Very disappointed as I came to this establishment based on a referral. The manager was too cowardly to even come and address us when we ask to speak to them. read more

I came here for my birthday and despite the reviews not being so great. I must say I had a different experience. I ordered the shrimp lo mein which was delicious. Although the menu says the lo mein can be shared by two the portion isn't large enough for two people. I also got the Beijing chicken which was was flavorful and the chicken was juicy. We were seated immediately and our waitress was very attentive. Overall I think it's a cool spot for a date night or celebration. read more

Visited on a busy Friday evening with family on my trip to New York. It's a short walk from Times Square and reflects that energy. There was a short wait at the bar for our table. The bar wraps all the way around a corner and had plenty of space. Drinks were good. I usually have something pretty simple but others at our table had signature drinks. We chose to share a variety of items so we could all taste them. There are some great items on the menu that I had either not encountered or were standouts for quality and preparation: Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and both the Pastrami and Duck Spring Rolls come to mind. We also had some Pork Lo Mein that was very good. Staff was wonderful. Initial food items came promptly with some spacing as we went along. I'll be back on another trip to the City. read more

A hype for no reason. Food tastes microwaveable and service is slow. The staff doesn't remember any of your requests and make mistakes. Spicy Mayo and spicy sauce / ginger had to ask many times. Got the Scallion pancakes Vegetable spring rolls Tuna crispy rice Seabass/ white fish Noodles with vegetable The apps and noodles were good- but tasted like frozen section of supermarket warmed up. Fish wasn't edible very fishy but beautiful presentation No real ambiance - large place feels like it would be tasty - I would come back for drinks and apps. As it is a comfortable setting. I think they are overpriced for food quality. I also thought many beautiful spots with flowers or decor but I see people go to take a pic in one corner. One time hitter. read more

I would recommend making your reservations weeks in advance, especially for the weekends, as I heard they get fully booked quick. Sooo good! They have tons of vegetarian options and absolutely beautiful atmosphere. The restaurant is huge, they have tons of seating (definitely a great place for events; a birthday, group dinner-) the service was excellent all around from the hosts to the servers and it was an extremely enjoyable evening. My gf and I came here on a Thursday night for dinner. The greeters were nice and we were promptly seating. The decor in this restaurant is really nice and there are many opportunities for nice pictures. The staff was very attentive and available which is always a plus. The music was loud enough to hear what was being played but low enough to still have a conversation. I don't think they were lounging at this time. Just very cool vibes. I was a little reluctant because of some of the reviews spoke about food being poor, but I will say to give this restaurant a try like I did because the food was GREAT! We ordered: Shrimp dumpling (amazing/-should've ordered 2 orders- they were full with shrimp and very tasty) 9 season Shrimp (my palate is a bit sensitive so I thought the breading was a bit much but my friend though it was fine--I still finished it because it was good nonetheless) Sweet/Sour Chicken-my friend ordered it and loved it! Vegetable lo mein (I was glad that they were able to take the onions out so I can fully enjoy it and it was still very tasty.) For drinks: Mexican Mule (very good if you like mezcal) Lychee martini ( very good!) I will be returning to this restaurant and would definitely recommend to others! read more

The food was muah (chef's kiss). We ordered a variety of appetizers rather than entrees since we were stopping by before visiting the Javits Center. The drinks were INCREDIBLE! We were all pleased. The atmosphere and ambiance were definitely top tier. Although we waited a long while for our server (the space didn't appear super busy either), once we got his attention he was on point. Looking for some tasty Asian food, great drinks, and good vibes? Sei Less is a definite go to! read more

Service - excellent Food - quite good Value for money - ok Ambiance - lovely Location - convenient for midtown Music - a mix of RnB and rap Downside - slow down with the service. I know this sounds silly- hungry people want to eat, right? Well, actually we wanted to take our time. The food just came at us faster than we were expecting and it made us leave earlier than we wanted to (I.e. - we would have spent more money on drinks, etc., but our food came out so fast it implied they wanted us to hurry, eat and be on our way. Who knows, maybe they did...) Regardless- the food was yummy. Especially the steamed shrimp dumplings. read more

My husband and I went to Sei Less for an early dinner before a show. We arrived about 30 min before our reservation( not on purpose) but they were able to seat us immediately. This place might not seem like much when you first walk in, but the minute you walk past the hostess stand .... It's a vibe! We were seated in the back dining room and it was actually surprisingly busy considering how early it was. Our waiter Carlos was at our table almost immediately to take our drink order. I got the Pick Me Up martini, it was very good and my husband got a bourbon neat. For food we started with the pork dumplings, delicious filling , perfectly browned and crispy and the Spicy Tuna over crispy rice, also really good, we also had the chicken lettuce wraps which in my opinion were some of the best I've ever had. We also ended up splitting the Lo Mein with lobster , lo mein itself was very tasty , but I felt the lobster was an afterthought, small little pieces and you couldn't really taste it. My husband had the Chilean sea bass and he loved it! Again, Carlos our waiter was always right there to answer any questions we had about the food and what to order. They also had a photographer walking through the dining room and taking pics of each table which they later came around and tried to sell you the pics framed ( kind of odd) they only other negative, if I had to nitpick was the busers we're almost too attentive with clearing the plates, a couple of times they went to take plates that still had food on them and we had to ask them to leave them. Overall a great experience, we both left full but not grossly stuffed. Definitely not inexpensive but a nice treat if you're looking for something a little different! read more

Absolutely loved my visit here. Food was on point. Drinks were great! Service was perfect! The vibe was just right. Loved it all. I wish they had a lounge area so you could chill after finishing dinner and continue enjoying the scene but nonetheless I had a great time. Came here may 26 and the food was not pleasing. The chicken satay with peanut sauce and Peking duck buns was bland. We both decided to order the pineapple chicken instead of trying different things after a bad experience with the appetizer. Can't fail with Sweet and sour chicken. The white rice was a fail. It was dry. Seem like I got the bottom of the pot. For $30 for sweet and sour chicken that shouldn't have happened. My friend ordered the chicken fried rice as a side which was good. Ambiance is really nice. Good music and great photos. read more

Absolutely amazing, was kinda bummed they ran out of edamame dumplings when I visited but thats okay because everything else made up for it. From the saucy chicken satay that was really smothered in a rich & thick peanut sauce, which I love, but some dont like how much sauce it comes with.. Rock shrimp tempura was a good sized served plate, the sauce is like a subtle thai chili cus its not too spicy in my opinion. Scallion pancakes were so yuuummmy, it was flaky, kinda similar to a naan bread but not really, wish there was more scallions but im veggie obsessed... Spare ribs.. the spare RIBS. thats it, thats all I have to say, phenomenal. Must try, must visit back always. Also really good lemon drop martinis :) read more

Food was amazing. Can't remember the name of everything but the shrimp appetizer was yummy, the steak melted in my mouth and the dessert was delectable. The drinks were strong and good. Reservations are highly recommended. Security was cool, let us in we were able to sit at the bar. Our bartender Kim was great. All of the staff was on point . The issue here was the food. I expected better food options with a little more of spin to it. The menu is very similar to other Asian fusion restaurants, I'm hearing it's affiliated with the owners of Jue Lan. I wasn't impressed with the food. They offer picture packages while dining, kind of idk lol. Wasn't feeling it. Fast forward to the food, we ordered lobster spring rolls which were good. Salmon it wasn't bad just a bit over cooked. Last the passion fruit prawns a bit to tangy heavy mayo based on the prawns. Kim our bartender was very good with us, her drinks were on point . What a disappointment. Made a reservation with the intention of taking my friend from out of town, and they wouldn't let us in the door due to our footwear (flip flops). We were dressed very nicely, and nowhere on the reservation or restaurant website does it say that flip flops are prohibited. Very rarely does a place come close to the hype. Sei Less is one of those places. I would often see the Instagrammable pics and backdrops and wonder if the food was as good as the decor. I recommend Sei Less for sure. The vibe is super cool. The music is cool and at a moderate level. It's very classy so ladies please wear your heels and pretty dress. I have been there a few times and love the food because they serve vegan. The cocktails are pretty good. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. You walk in and turn to the stairs on the right and go up one flight. They have a huge bar, a lot of staff. Our waiter was great. Attentive they are! We had it all. Lychee martini seems to be popular here, but it was good. I had a glass of Moscato, also good. Entrees were sweet and sour chicken, filet minion with broccoli with an order of pork fried rice. Also both good. Had a Stella, but make sure you ask for bottle or they'll give you tap. Crème brûlée for dessert was bleh. Also, if you check in on Yelp, you get a free dessert chocolate mouse or crème brûlée only. Now I will say the food was good, but nothing I can't get from a gourmet Chinese restaurant. Seriously. OMG we were in New York City for two days didn't know where to eat we saw this really cool looking neon sign decided to pop in and have dinner. They didn't have room for us but we came back the following day and pretty much had the most amazing meal of our lives. The vibe was super cool almost felt exclusive and we had the best food. If you get a chance to try the mushroom quiche, it is the only savory item on the menu and only there for a remaining limited time. Components : French Isigny AOP Certificated Butter Puff Pastry, Various Seasonal Mushroom (Hen of the Wood, Pyogo, Oyster), Salted Egg Yolk Gel, Ganjang Creme Fraiche Sauce I have never tasted a mushroom so umami. It was like a warm hug on my tongue. The inside egg is so creamy and light. The exterior is a crisp flaky shell that bundles up the whole quiche tenderly. Topped with equal-cut pieces of scallion complements the whole thing so well. One of the newer seasonal items I tried this time is the strawberry-rubarb tart topped with gelatin and an edible flower. Components: Honey Cream, Harry's Berries Strawberries & Jam, Almond Cream Tart, Rhubarb Gelé. A thin chocolate shell encircles the tart. During my previous visits, I did get to try the classic Lysee and Corn mousse cakes, which were delectable in addition to being beautiful. The corn is a must-have. Components : Pecan Financier, Coco-Passion Madeleine, Milk Chocolate-Hazelnut Teddy bear, Milk Chocolate Banana Cookie, Matcha-Strawberry Cookie, Chocolate Shortbread Cookies (2), Experimental Shortbread Cookies (2), Yakgwa (Korean honey cake). My favorite were the shortbread cookies, which you can order separately too. You can't go wrong with any of these sets. Surprisingly filling with such delicate little wonders! I have tried three different drinks which have all been big hits. Étoile de l'Inde, magnolia brown rice green tea, and yangchon brewery chungju. I highly recommend all of these. The brown rice green tea is light.

The hostess stated how she had a long reservation list, but was able to get us right in! Once we sat down, our server, Spaghetti, came over to us. He was extremely friendly and took our drink orders right away. I ordered an Espresso Martini, and it was delicious. My father ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which was extremely tasty. For our entrees, my mother ordered the Pad Thai, and my father and I ordered the Pho Bó. My mom absolutely loved the Pad Thai! The Pho Bó was incredible. The broth was so delectable, and it was honestly the best broth that I have ever had. The portions were also incredible, especially for the price and being in the city! Once we received the check, we noticed that next to the Pho Bó, it stated that it is Michelin Recommended, and we completely understand why! We are looking forward to going back!

We ordered the yuzu margarita and the Sir Davis Sour, both perfectly balanced and dangerously smooth. My wife came from California and visited Sei Less while in New York for Valentine's Day, and unfortunately, it was a big mistake. Despite the website stating a "casual elegant" dress code, about a quarter of the male guests were wearing sports team hats and dressed as if they were heading to the mall or a backyard party. The atmosphere was disappointing, music was blasting, yet awkwardly cut out for several seconds between songs, which made the vibe feel disjointed. Someone should adjust the crossfade settings on their streaming service. As for the food, it was overpriced and mediocre at best. Service was just okay, and the drinks were forgettable. Our two entrées took about 45 minutes to arrive, which felt excessive. The only highlight was spending time with our family who lives in NYC, but the overall experience at Sei Less was underwhelming. When we first arrived, the restaurant was fairly quiet, but it gradually filled up with guests celebrating birthdays and couples enjoying a night out and it's easy to see why. The moment you walk in, you're instantly greeted by great music, an amazing vibe, and incredibly warm and welcoming staff. The food was absolutely outstanding you could truly taste the freshness in every dish. We loved every bite and would recommend it without hesitation: a solid 10 out of 10! It would also be a fantastic venue for a birthday celebration. They have tables that can accommodate groups of around eight, making it perfect for a special occasion. The broccoli broke the scale of deliciousness and the chicken lo mein was good as well. For dessert, the crème brûlée pretty good, it was my first time trying it ever.
