    Two birthdays in one table

Yesterday was a great experience at this restaurant, the hostess or waitress, Sheila was awesome. Her hospitality and her attention to customer was amazing. The food was delicious. The drinks are great and comfy couch like table we sat in was great if we could we would've stood there until closing. I recommend this restaurant for great food. Great drinks great hospitality.

Quick Lunch! My niece and I came here for lunch. The restaurant had a few tables occupied. After doing a quick scan of the menu I went with the fried whole snapper along with a mojito. I noticed the drink menu didnt have prices. But being in the BX I figured how much could it be. I should also mentioned I visited in December of 2022. The fish was amazing! Perfectly fried and seasoned. The mojito was ok, not strong but not weak. Imagine my surprise upon receiving the bill and seeing my mojito was more than the pork chop meal my niece had. The mojito was $28!!!! All I could do was shake my head, laugh and pay my bill.

My sister always raves about this place so I finally joined her for lunch. I had the nachos with cecina (salted steak). The nacho to topping ratio was perfect. In my opinion, it isn't a portion for more than 2-3 people to share but GREAT as a personal meal. They have a variety of cocktails that are available in small, medium, or large glasses but (to my surprise) the small started at $15, so I passed. Prices aren't listed on the cocktail menu so that could've just been the price of the drink I chose (a mojito) but it would be great if the prices were just listed plainly.

Seis Vecinos is my go-to taco spot. I eat here 2-3 times a week whether through Uber Eats or sitting in and they NEVER disappoint. Service 10/10 The staff is friendly and kind. They go out their way to make sure they get your order right (there's sometimes a language barrier so please be patient and respectful) and if there's ever any issues, they have no problem correcting it. Food comes out fast and they are super accommodating in terms of customizing orders to your liking. Ambiance 10/10 Restaurant reminds of a scene from a traditional Mexican rustic movie. It has a lot of space so it's perfect for a family or work gathering or even a cute date. Multiple TV's are also on display and they are happy to put on whatever sport you want to watch (Basketball for me ;) ) I love that they take the time to decorate the restaurant based on whatever holiday is close. We're a week from Valentines Day and the restaurant is decked out in red hearts Food 9/10 In my humble opinion, Seis Vecinos has some of the best tacos in the Bronx. My go to are the chicken and steak tacos. They are tender, juicy and packed with authentic flavor. I've also had the chicken taco bowl and it is such a large helping. Another one of my favorties are the Colombian rice and beans. The pinto beans are super flavorful and always made fresh. Another thing I'd like to add is that in addition to being delicious, the food is affordable. $3.50 a taco? Sign me up! Drinks 8/10 While I'm not a super heavy drinker, they have a great red sangria and they don't miss with their pina coladas. I always leave full and feeling nice! They also offer drinks to go which I love! All in all, I love Seis Vecinos! They are a great Mexican restaurant, ran by good people. I'd recommend them over and over again. 9/10 in total.

The restaurant was nice and well decorated and the waiters were very friendly. Onto the food, the only good items were the Horchata and tortilla chips with guacamole. The food IMO was meh. The pollo con tajadas was alright, but I wish the chicken had more crunch. The appearance was nice though. The guava tres leche was also meh. Only the guava topping was good. I also ordered sopa de res and tamales de cerdo to take home, but again they weren't as good. The soup had a dark color and didn't have a good amount of vegetables. The taste wasn't bad but not good. The rice also had a dark color. The tamales were meh and very small. Not worth $4. Overall, I rate the horchata and chips n guac a 10/10. The pollo con tajadas 6.5/10, sopa de res 5/10 and tamales de cerdo a 3.5/10.

Seis vecinos is a great choice if your looking for great food and drinks! The service is always great with waiters always being very attentive and the food coming out very quickly. The passion fruit margarita was mixed just right and it had a great ambiance for a Saturday night. Definitely will return.

UPDATE FROM 7/30/31 - I tried not to update this, but Wow, the service has changed, and the food quality has as well. The last two visits have been a complete disaster, and why I say two is because the first time the service started to change, I decided to try it one more time only for the same thing to happen. I used to love this place when visiting for family dinner/lunch, but it has changed so much. Everything has changed so much it seems to me that everything's rushed to accommodate the high demand of the restaurant, which in turn give lousy food quality and service not like how it used to be and the servers are rude. And I'm not just saying that my last two experience rude servers both times; table busers / cleaners were way more likable. Around me had tables getting wrong orders just chaotic and destructive for a Friday at 6 pm

I've read other reviews and I decided to go.Everyone was accurate. The food was phenomenal, excellent customer service and satisfying tasty drinks. This is a hidden gem. Inside was decorated for Halloween/ Fall. What I didn't like : My waitress was trying to up sell. For example, suggestions of extra shot in my drink. I am willing spend money regardless. Please don't persuade me. There was no heat in the restaurant. I had to keep my sweater and coat on while enjoying my dinner. Overall , I do recommend to bring money and expect to spend it. It is worth it though. I guarantee that

We decided to try this restaurant because we pass it a lot and never had the opportunity to experience it. They have outdoor seating which we prefer since it was beautiful outside. Immediately when they sat us down they asked if we wanted guacamole or ceviche before we even had a chance to look at the menu which I thought was kind of weird as in it was complimentary. We opted for the ceviche, and ordered the rest of our food. The service was very quick but also lack of communication because one of the servers did not speak English. Tacos- Chipotle chicken, Mexican sausage, spicy pork and pineapple pork Pupusas- Chicken, loroco, chorizo and pork belly with cheese Mixed fajita- Chicken, steak and shrimp sautéed with peppers onions and tomatoes. Served with rice, beans, cream, pico de gallo, and tortillas Picadera- A medley of fried chicken breast, breaded shrimp, chorizo, pork chops and steak, on top of plantains, topped off with chipotle sauce, red onions and pico de gallo Yuca con chicharron- Cassava w/fried pork belly, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and tomato sauce Ceviche seis Vecinos- White fish and shrimp cured w/ lime, mixed with pico de gallo and served with plantain chips The food itself were all really flavorful and tasty, ordered too much and had them as leftovers for the next day. I talked to one of the waiters and said that the restaurant has only been open for 3 years. A very cozy spot for good food. I would come back again. Food- 9/10 Cleanliness- 8/10 Staff- 6/10

Mixed Seafood Soup - Sopa de Marisco
    Emily L.

My lunch was pre-arranged here as part of a work trip. It was lovely. Cozy, friendly service and fresh guacamole made right away at the table. Lots of options (perhaps too many options, I couldn't decide!) I took a leap of faith and ordered the sopa de marisco (mixed seafood soup) thanks to my memory of an old episode of Parts Unknown-thanks Anthony Bourdain! It was incredible! Hope to return the next time I'm in the Bronx.

Went with a friend to this restaurant and loved their food. I had the bean and cheese and the chicharon. And we also had their guacamole.

The restaurant is spacious with one sided booths. It did not open at the 12pm time advertised…read moreonline. It opened just after 3 and calling twice. We ordered the appetizer wings (approx 7 wingettes) They were deliciously crunchy with a delicious mango sauce. My daughter ordered the skirt steak. It was bland. I ordered the red snapper $42, very bland. I paid to try the mango sauce and chilli sauce neither helped. The rice and tostones were good. The Alchemist drink was a nice experience and flavorful. Overall the appetizers and drinks were great everything else not so good.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. From the moment we walked in, the experience was…read moredisappointing. There was no host or hostess present to greet us or manage seating. We stood there confused, eventually trying to find a table ourselves. Since no one was assisting us and there were no open tables available, we sat at the bar. My friend continued waiting and trying to secure a table, but there was no communication from staff. To make matters worse, another group arrived after us and was seated before us. They mentioned they had been there before, and it felt like they were given priority while we were overlooked, despite waiting longer. Service at the bar was equally frustrating. The bartender was inattentive and focused only on certain sections. It took about 10 to 15 minutes just to get a simple glass of wine. We had to repeat our orders multiple times, which should have been a red flag. The appetizer, Korean wings, arrived quickly and was probably the only positive part of the evening. After that, everything went downhill. Our entrees took an extremely long time to arrive. It felt like nearly two hours. When the food finally came out, one of my friends did not receive her meal at all because the bartender forgot to put in her order. This was especially frustrating since we had repeated the order several times. When her dish, the pad Thai, finally arrived about 30 minutes later, it was mediocre at best and slightly cold. The steaks ordered by two of us were dry and under-seasoned. The vegetables were overcooked and bland. Overall, the food quality did not justify the long wait or the price. The bathrooms were another major issue. There was toilet paper on the floor and even period blood visible on the ground. It was unsanitary and honestly shocking. Cleanliness is the bare minimum for any establishment. The final bill came to $245, including an automatic $34 gratuity at the bar. Considering the service we received, this felt completely undeserved. There was no acknowledgment of the forgotten order and no attempt to make things right. As a final note, be cautious if you're wearing delicate or expensive clothing. The bar counter area has rough edges, and one of my friend's jerseys was snagged while we were sitting there. This was my first time here, and it will absolutely be my last. Between the poor service, mediocre food, lack of cleanliness, and high prices, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
