let me preface first with the statement that I have been multiple times at Seither's and always enjoyed the well seasoned crawfish, and the bustling environment. Alas! nothing stays the same. In my last visit, the crawfish was cold and rubbery, but what really made the whole experience uncomfortable was the dirty looks from multiple individuals as "you don't belong here". Yes, I am a minority, but it has been a long time since I felt not welcome in the place due to the color of my skin. I also understand that the restaurant cannot necessarily choose whom to serve. The service was good, and the waitress was mildly apologetic for the temperature of the crawfish. Parking was surprisingly easy for such a small lot, but walking to the front, apparently I stood in the wrong place and the "hostess" shot me a comment about being in the wrong spot and asked if I had a reservation. I had no idea that was even possible from their blog of a website. Anyhow, I informed her that I did not, but we'd be happy to sit at a table outside, to which she agreed. The service was prompt, but everyone looks and sounds so miserable. If I lived nearby I would probably be here every day. My husband ordered a dozen oysters in the half shell and DANNNGG if they weren't the biggest sea monsters I've ever seen. So huge. So tasty. We also split "The Hamper" which was absolutely way too much food but I've never been happier. It was a boiled seafood feast. 2lbs of crawfish, 1lb of blue crab, 1lb of shrimp, 1lb snow crab and corn/potatoes. Seasoned well- served with butter and extra sauces. Get ready to get messy! I don't know if it was an off night, but the crawfish were bland, the corn was like rubber, inedible and potatoes and sausage tasted like plain potatoes and sausage. No salt, no spice, it was terrible. I told the waitress about it and she said it was because of the issues with harvesting the crawfish. They were large, great texture, it really came down to a bad boil. I paid for my food and got an "I'm sorry." No discount, no offer to give me new food. I was so disappointed I called the manager the next day to figure out what happened and he said they have had no complaints. Heard about a great seafood restaurant in Harahan so went to check it out on a Friday night. This place is not a secret to the locals. It was packed! We were able to get a bucket of beer while we waited for a table to open up. It was probably an hour or so wait. Luckily, they had a band so the time passed quickly. The food here is good. It seems like there are 100 items on the menu so do some research before you go. There are some interesting creations like The Volcano which is what I ordered. An upside down fried taco shell with boiled shrimp inside, crab salad on top, drizzled with at least two Asian style sauces, and throw in some seared tuna for good measure. This thing is a beast. The best part about it was actually the seared tuna. This as actually something they are famous for having won awards at the Oak Street Po-Boy festival for a seared tuna po-boy as well as a couple other exotic creations. Even after polishing off this giant plate and tasting off other plates at the table, I still had to order the dessert. The fried bread pudding was fantastic. The rest were fried okay however the shrimp and oysters were over seasoned with lemon. The redfish was better. I guess it had a different batter. I went with a friend and thank goodness I did because I was led on how to navigate properly. They have a few outdoor tables to enjoy and a stage for live music. We decided to try the Totem Pole which was said to be one of the dishes featured on the show. It was really delicious! There's fried eggplant on the bottom layered with crabmeat dressing and topped with a fried soft shell crab and boiled shrimp! I would have to say though... this is not a dish for eggplant haters! Otherwise, eat it all up!!! We also tried their crawfish boil since everyone said their boils are one of the best. I would have to agree! The spices that they use here are ON POINT! The crawfish aren't overcooked either (cause I've been to places where they're too tough and too spicy). The seasonings are juuuust right. The place is a hole-in-the-wall type. It's not in the busy downtown part of New Orleans. Parking is literally on rocks. Very casual dining. The inside of the restaurant is small, but they make up for it with some outside seating. I love this place that reminds me of the old lakefront places where the whole family would meet some for boiled seafood and some for fried. The kids would get a little bit of everything. You walk on oyster shells before entering the building if you choose to eat inside or they have tables outside if you prefer. The food is a combination of everything The boiled crawfish are perfect. The seasoning is just enough for your lips to feel tingling . As good as home boiled. This place is pretty cool. Didn't know when we went, but it was on the show dine ins and dives. It's a cool little place tucked off in the neighborhoods of Metairie. The service is super and down home friendly. The food was pretty good. The Cajun street corn was not great but that's probably because I'm spoiled to legit Mexican street corn, which is hard to beat. Crawfish was pretty good and the chargrilled oysters were a pretty good too. I took my team from work here at 3PM on a Thursday and it was a wonderful experience! I did call ahead to let them know I was bringing a party of 10 in the middle of the afternoon just to make sure we didn't catch them in between lunch and dinner shifts. I was in the service industry so I know that is VERY helpful for small businesses. Our Server was perfection and second only to the out of the world crawfish and appetizers that we had. In my opinion this is the best crawfish I have had in at least the last 3 seasons. Do not walk!!!! Run!!!!!! Thank you for making us feel welcome and anticipating our every need! Stopped in this gem after seeing it on DDD with the full intention of trying the Volcano. Arrived a couple of hours before closing and they were extremely busy which is a sign that the food is going to be good......AND it was. Walking up we were greated by two separate servers who were extremely friendly and helped us get a table inside as all available outside seating was taken. Upon seating our server was extremely friendly and walked us through the menu as this was our first time eating here. My plan of trying the volcano changed quickly when our server mentioned the special of the night being a whole flounder stuffed with crab and shrimp with a side of home fries. But first we started off with the shrimp OMG appetizer. The shrimp OMG was cooked golden brown with a spicy Sriracha sauce coating and tasted great. Then came the stuffed flounder. The portion was huge as one would expect by being the whole fish and they did not skemp on the stuffing. The fish was tender and the stuffing was moist and packed with crab and shrimp. Unfortunately, I could eat only one side, but did give it the old college try. The only deduction I can give would be due to the cleanliness of the restroom. The floor was covered in water and it looked like the room could use a good scrubbing. I will be back in town in a couple of weeks and will most certainly stop in for another dinner or two. Placed and order for two half sea food platters half fish half shrimp later evening on tonight 12/6/24 it was awful I was so shocked good thing I looked inside the platters before I signed my ticket for $60 something and left because if I had gotten home with that food OMG!
