I finally made it to this coffee shop. Passed few times I wanted to try it out it had been closed. The vibes in here are chill and there is an upstairs with tables to enjoy your coffee and food at. I did not go upstairs as I took my coffee to go. I did not try any of the food here though from what I saw on the menu it all sounded good. I ordered an iced latte with a little Rose flavoring. When I got it and it did not taste like Rose at all, maybe it was because I asked for one pump of the syrup. Oh well. I did like they had the little circle ice cubes too. Service was ok a little on the slow side but it was only one person working. I would go back though and try out other drinks.

Came here for breakfast on a Monday morning. It was quiet and relatively empty. I ordered a drip coffee and the lox sandwich ($14). The sandwich was filling and very tasty-- I recommend it if you like lox. This is a good spot to bring out of town guests to.

4.0 / 5.0 A Korean-style cafe where you can eat fluffy brioche buns! It's not that big, but it's full of toppings so you'll be full! The slightly spicy sauce goes really well with the brioche bun. The staff are friendly and make your order carefully, which is a delight. The store has seating on the first and second floors, and the restrooms are spacious too! Be careful in the summer as the air conditioning can be too strong! ・HAM

Went to Semicolon for a post-workout breakfast with a friend recently. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. The food was pretty good - I got a hearty Bulgogi egg sandwhich and an iced coffee. However, the prices are a bit steep for what it is. I will likely come back as it is a unique breakfast spot in my area, but I wouldn't necessarily travel far for it.

Two story cafe; interior is a little bland and the tables are not overly clean. Drinks and food takes a while to be prepared. The mango banana smoothie was good. The bulgogi and lox sandwich both had a generous amount of meat and egg. Not sure if it was worth $14, but pretty filling.

I went to semicolon cafe right before my hair appointment and I quickly picked up an iced latte and a bulgogi egg sandwich. The bulgogi egg sandwich did take about 15 minutes to make and give to my hands so it was a bit time consuming if you are on the go. The bulgogi sandwich had Scrambled eggs with grilled corn, green leaf lettuce, stem tomatoes, marinated beef, bulgogi sauce, toasted brioche bread. The ambiance is warm, friendly, and inviting. The staff was pretty busy; there were two girls at the front counter taking orders and making the coffee drinks. I like how spacious this cafe is. They have two floors with seating available. Great cafe to have a meetup with friends and even a first date. The sandwich tasted superb, the bulgogi was sweet and savory. It is a little expensive for a breakfast spot but I can vouch that you'll get yummy food from here other than this I have only positive things to say about this establishment. 10/10 recommendation.

I've visited this place twice now. The vibe is cute and this coffee shop is nice and spacious. The first time, I tried the lady matcha. It was good but I prefer a stronger, more bitter matcha. This one is so pretty though. With pink popcorn on top so its instagram worthy. On my second visit, I ordered a hot latte instead, and I like it much better. Strong and more to my taste. I also tried the banana bread and it was moist and good.

Best cafe I've been to in NYC in my almost 5 years of residency! At almost 800 reviews, it's a bold statement, but very well deserved for Semicolon Cafe. Best lattes I've had the pleasure of tasting. It has a Korean American feel, and the drinks are not too sweet, unlike Starbucks. Everything was perfectly executed - from food to ambiance. It's a very cozy cafe that you could catch up with a friend or have a nice coffee date. The sandwiches here are so delicious - especially the bulgogi one! The bread is so soft and toasted, with great sauce. Will finely come back and either order the lady matcha or pistachio latte along with a sandwich.

Spacious looking cafe with an upstairs. Sandwiches and drinks were tasty. I got the tiramisu latte, which tasted amazing on a rainy day. Service was relatively fast. They also have high chairs so that's a win for me!

I love the aesthetics of this cafe! Super high ceilings and surprisingly spacious. I had the chicken sandwich and enjoyed it. I was expecting one large piece of breaded chicken, as is the case for most chicken sandwiches, but this one came with multiple chunks of marinated chicken. I'd recommend this place for a quick bite!

Semicolon is always empty, so it's a reliable quick morning bite. The sandwiches are pretty overpriced and small but super tasty.

tiramisu latte, lox egg sandwich, and bulgogi egg sandwich
    Pitcha S.

Ate in 2022: I got their bulgogi egg sandwich while my friend got their lox egg sandwich and tiramisu latte. She liked her sandwich, meanwhile, I thought mine was too sweet. But that was my first time having bulgogi so I did not know that it was going to be sweet lol. Also, the sandwich was kind of bland, wish there was more flavor. This place has a bathroom though, so that's convenient.

Great spot for Korean Egg Sandwiches! I got the avocado Sandwich and I loved it... easy 10/10. It was the perfect start to my Saturday. Will definitely be back!

I was pleasantly…read moresurprised to find out they had a location in New York City, so I obviously had to give it a try. There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.

The menu inside breaks down all of the sandwhiches, you roll up to the deli counter when they say next, spill out your order (add/remove stuff to your order) and you're done. The most overwhelming thing is deciphering the Italian sandwhich menu. I hit up the Italian Hot. Pretty decent! I added sun dried tomatoes...but it would have been just as good without it. Be PREPARED this Sammie has some chili honey liquid /oil sauce they put on it and it's tasty but it's a lot. The staff are friendly - just focused on getting your order and getting it to you so you can enjoy. The wall is pretty interested they have made their own decor out of door panel fixtures.

Small space inside but you don't need much space to make bussin sandwiches. Walking or public transportation is preferred. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here after a long day doing booth duty at a summit and was starving from not eating the entire day. Fortunatley the place was pretty quiet since it was 2pm and I got my orders in. For sandwiches, I ended up getting the Favolosa and the Italiana. The favolosa had a delicious artichoke cream and salami that was a banger. The italiana had all your great italian cured meats as well as a truffle cream sauce that made the umami bomb even more umami. So good! THE FINAL BAMBOO: The two sandwiches were around $45, a little pricier on the sandwich side but man are they delicious. I'll definitely be back when I'm in NYC.

Someone order a Hot Italian? Here I am…read more The legendary Florentine sandwich shop achieved global fame by earning some of the highest praise in food journalism for its massive, fresh-baked schiacciata sandwiches. Google their name and "best" and get hundreds of hits, but the majors who crowned them "best sandwich" title include Saveur Magazine, the big one touted by the family; Eater NY, ranking La Paradiso the most elite Italian sandwich outside of Italy; Las Vegas Weekly, who crowned them "Home of the world's best sandwiches"; TripAdvisor, for whom the Italian original is the most reviewed eatery with a near perfect rating; and The Infatuation NYC guides who promise the execution of the crispy, airy schiacciata bread completely justifies the hype. All 17 options looked amazing, so I spoke to a regular in line, telling her I couldn't decide between "La Paradiso", the most praised (even though she informed me "mortadella is just bolonie" or the Hot Italian, which was more my style. So, I did what any gluttonous American would do and I got both. And a Diet Coke, of course. La Paradiso has thinly sliced bolonie for a savory base, with creamy shredded stacciatella cheese, with sweet but earthy pistachio cream, and a sprinkle of toasted pistachio for texture (that I didn't detect). It was good, but I will likely fuggedaboutit. The Hot Italian had thin, lean turkey, spicy and smoky spreadable Calabrian pork sausage, a balancing provolone, calabrian chili honey, and peppery arugula (that they claim adds crunch that I didn't detect). Were they life-changing? No. But I rank Paradiso a 8.8 and Hot Italian a 10. And because everyone is hard-working and everything is so freshly prepared and cut, it's a class act. They should seriously make a sign that says, "Can't decide? Get two!" and then give me free sandwiches on my yearly trips for the idea.

Why they hid it all the way in the back, I have my assumptions and suspicions. I had to get an order of soup dumplings here so I got the Crab Soup Dumplings ($15). The skin is a bit thicker than other spots, but that means the skin ain't going to break on you easily. And do be careful how you bite into it, as the first one I bit into, the soup splattered all over my shirt and pants. Overall tasted great. Soup dumplings was not going to fill me up along, so I got something off of their lunch menu and settled upon Orange Chicken w Brown Rice ($18.50). Chicken was white meat, which is battered and deep fried. It says it was spicy, but it really wasn't. Comes with a vegetable spring roll and a choice of rice, which makes this a pretty decent lunch deal for $20. Menu prices are cash prices. If you pay with a credit card, they will slap a 2% processing fee. Overall, service was pretty decent as well. Would come back again for lunch.

We all chose different sandwiches and they were ready pretty fast. Since the shop itself is not huge, we landed a small space at the window bar with two stools and some standing room. After being in a car and on a flight and in another car all morning, we weren't mad about the standing part. We were all able to share and sample each sandwich, and honestly, we were not disappointed. We were all full and happy when we weren't finished, so what more could we want for a relatively quick NYC meal? Being under the plaza, the restrooms were outside the shop but very close by so we were able to wash hands and such before journeying out into the wild. I would definitely stop back by again on another trip! The guys and I all gave Alidoro's two thumbs up - so 8 thumbs total, if you're counting.
