Señor Taco express is so good it should be outlawed this side of the 101! We have been big fans of Señor Taco from the time they opened their first restaurant in North Scottsdale. Now that they have an express a few miles from our house, it's gotten real... real hard to keep away. I hear they have a great variety on the menu however I'm a creature of habit at Señor Taco... Yes another Mexican restaurant as if we don't have enough in this town! I like the artwork but let's get down to business about the food. Their carne asada Baja fries with shrimp looks Bomb, but to me the main issue is the fries. When you put all those toppings on top of those skinny fries, they can't hold up and they become soggy and overloaded. I truly believe thicker fries would make this dish much better! I was unimpressed with my lunch at Senor Taco Express. I was hoping to grab a quick bite the eat during the middle of my day. The food was greasy and seemed "Taco Bell Like". This new express Mexican restaurant exceeds expectations as the food was very tasty and the place was extremely clean especially during the pandemic. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. You can enjoy views of mountains sitting outside by misters or take it to Go by their express drive through. It's a great addition to the surrounding area that needs good, fresh, reliable service. Cashier: Sonia Sonia was extremely rude. She handed me my food and I said hold on let me check regarding the hot sauce. She just shut the window on me. I wanted some extra red hot sauce and waited a couple of extra minutes waiving my hand to to get her to open up the drive thru window to even acknowledge me. She did, and looked pissed off, I asked for extra sauce, she gave me my extra hot sauce and didn't say any words while still having the scoffed rude face and just shut the window on me again. This location usually was good and I never had problems. But this one incident unfortunately ruined my experience with Senor Taco. I will not be taking my business here again. I don't know if she's just a ill-tempered employee or whether somebody pissed in her Cheerios this morning but she was extremely rude and I did nothing to warrant such a shitty experience that ultimately has changed my day for the worse. Google reviews also show another person commenting on a workers attitude about 7 months ago. You guys should look into this and handle it. I understand an employee not taking a beating from a crappy customer. But there was no exchange to warrant such a behavior to a random customer such as myself that didn't do anything to justify that behavior. Wow does this place think they are something. The food is OK, but their prices have gone berserk. For example, when they moved in about three years ago, their Daily Special #1 was $7.50 or thereabouts. A little disappointed in this place today. I either stop here or order through UberEats their breakfast burritos a couple times a month. Today, the breakfast burrito tasted like shrimp. Not sure if they forgot to wash utensils in between cooking meals or what but I couldn't eat the burrito as I'm allergic to shrimp and didn't want to risk getting sick. Love this place and such a great addition to N. Scottsdale for some good tacos and burritos. Blows all of the "bertos" spots out of the water. My go-to are the carnitas street tacos or burrito. The fish tacos are also damn good. Love their freshly made salsas, both green and red. The drive thru makes it super convenient and it's never been a long wait. I had the crunchy beef tacos. I do not recommend them. Mainly filled with lettuce and cheese. The beef is almost nonexistent. Other items are okay. Quesadilla carnitas tacos are tasty and filled with lots of meat. read more

This was our second time trying this place. The first time was right after they opened and we got burritos- which were good. This time we got tacos. The tacos are good portions and bigger than I expected! We tried the shrimp taco, Baja fish taco, al pastor taco, carnitas, and grilled chicken tacos. All were delish and so tasty! And-- The price is right. The only thing is that I would have liked a cleaner dining room (the tables needed cleaned)... but I'm giving them a pass on that this time (for my rating stars) because they seemed a little short-staffed, and mostly because the food was good, the price was good, the service was quick, and the staff were friendly. Also, maybe I missed it, but it would be nice if there was a way to add an individual size chips & salsa to an order - maybe there is, so I'll have to inquire next time. Also I don't think they have desserts. But we'll definitely be back, as this is a great place to get tasty tacos! read more

Muy caliente. The burrito was Muy Grande and packed full of carne asada meat. Super easy online ordering. No more Jalapeno Inferno for me. I will need to try their bowls on my next go round. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Food is good and it offers a drive-thru, so I keep coming back. But the last three or four times, I came away either missing something or so frustrated by the long wait that it's starting to affect my tastebuds and the convenience factor. Today - waited 25 minutes and was given someone else's order then subsequently given my order, confirming my order as I took the bag. I pulled over to check before I left and low and behold, one entree and the 2 guacamole were not in there. Went back inside for them. I get home, and order was carne asada instead of carnitas. ‍ (Last time it was a taco and guacamole missing, but I didn't notice until I got home.) Also some extra charge for beef because there's a shortage apparently, so I probably paid $1 more for it... Now I'm rage eating my steak, but at least I got my guacamole. New place in North Scottsdale, we definitely needed a good authentic style Mexican restaurant here! I highly recommend the fish tacos which were outstanding. Went through the drive-thru and ordered a bean and cheese burrito. There were three or four cars total and it took a solid 15 minutes to get my food. The tortilla was very doughy and needed to be cooked. The beans were watered down. The two stars are for the salsa. read more
