Great choice for bentos! Recently ordered lunch delivery from Senro and was pleasantly surprised. We got several 2 and 3 item bentos, which were well received by everyone. We tried the salmon teriyaki, ton katsu, Saba shioyaki, California roll, and tempura (in a few different combinations in the bentos), as well as the yaki udon. The salmon teriyaki and tempura were especially well enjoyed - and were a good serving size! The chicken udon was a bit greasy (there was a lot of oil left in the bottom of the container - will spare you a pic), and the California roll was just ok (although it was a generous portion at 6 pieces in the bento). The bento offering overall was strong at a good price point and value - would definitely order again and omit the roll and yaki udon dish! Given the California roll (construction and freshness) I can't say this would be my go to place for sushi, but the other dishes were good! read more

Ordered a soda noticed the rim had a lip print of lipstick ewwwww, tempura was yuck tasted like Costco shrimp tempura I ordered teriyaki steak tuff like rubber and costumer service sucked as well. Great prices. Will give you your "sushi fix". The rolls are pretty good, however the sashimi wasn't great. They gave us really think pieces instead of nice thin ones. They were conscious about letting only one person in at a time for pick up orders which is greatly important during this pandemic. For a first visit, I'll say it was okay. I'm always a little leery of trying a new Sushi restaurant because the results are usually GREAT or HORRIBLE. I decided to go solo, which would result in a more reasonable expense (I assumed) and ordered something "common" that I could compare to others. I ordered a Rainbow and a Spider roll, nothing exotic and a hot tea. The quality of ingredients was very good, the spider roll was quite small (only 4 pieces) The fish on the outside of the Rainbow roll was VERY fresh and tasty, and it was a normal size (8 pieces). But the price for this was bit higher than expected- $23 before the tip!! Looking over the menu for other sushi proved the same, with some rolls as high as $15 and 2pc orders of Nigiri in the $8 and up range. The prices on bento boxes and combo dinners seemed reasonable and lunch prices were VERY reasonable, so maybe I just need to try to hit this place earlier? Space: incredibly wide space with different booths, bar and tables. we came at around 2 pm so there wasn't a lunch rush on this lovely Saturday afternoon! Service: great service, they also have lemon water! only thing is they mixed up our bento boxes...mine was the California roll + Salmon...but it wasn't a big deal! just wondering how they'd do with bigger orders though.. Price: they have a reasonably priced lunch as you are able to purchase lunch special with 2/3 of your choices. they also allow you to do this with different rolls. it is about $12.50 per person! Food: The food was pretty average for what you'd expect in a bento box. I had the California roll and the salmon teriyaki. The California roll didn't have any cucumber, only crab meat and avocado. The salmon was alright, nothing too special about the meal. Notes: because it is located in a busy plaza with Safeway and lots of other restaurants, parking is a little hard to find as you will need to drive around. I really love coming to lunch here! The bento boxes are my favorite, just a great variety of food. I usually go for the chicken teriyaki with the California roll and tempura. The tempura is always nice and crispy and a great sized portion. The California roll is one of my favorites since the rolls are on the larger size and the filling is creamy. The chicken is pretty good and nicely seasoned in sauce. The portion of food is quite a bit. I'm always left feeling satisfied for lunch and this is my Japanese spot near work. We have been ordering for several months from Senro Sushi - delivered by door dash and their food is always great quality and ample portions. I especially love their beef teriyaki and fresh sushi. Just left and bought two lion king rolls and for $15 a piece the quality and service was terrible. The roll was just through together, the salmon quality was very poor, all kinds of the brown fat and no salmon meat and was covered with house sauce to camouflage the poor seafood quality. I came here on a Wednesday night with my mom. We were surprised to see that the place was pretty busy, even on a weeknight. My mom and I both ordered dinner combos that came with miso soup and salad. The miso soup was a bit more on the salty side but it wasn't horrible. The salad was also pretty standard. I ordered the salmon teriyaki entree and my mom ordered the chicken teriyaki donburi. The portion size for the donburi was HUGE. It was a very generously sized bowl filed with rice and topped with lots of chicken - my mom had to take half of it home. The salmon teriyaki was delicious. I got two, thick pieces of salmon slathered in teriyaki sauce. Although, my entree dish was $3 more than what the salmon teriyaki donburi. It makes me wonder if you get more food for your money if you get the donburi. Overall a great place with great portions! read more

We came into this parking lot while passing through this city because of the new poki restaurant that I happened to have bookmarked. We were tired, craving sushi, and the poki bowl place was completely busy, dirty, no room to sit, and not the usual sushi fine dining experience that we were looking for and so we came here and I'm quite happy that we did. I, used to Japanese restaurants, over-ordered, not realizing that the higher prices were for HUGE portions. That poki bowl, or even noodle plate was bigger than my head! Shoulda only ordered 1 thing, but the leftovers were awesome!! We enjoyed every bite. My negative star is solely due to them not explaining their dishes. I ate a red & white semisoft meat whereas I couldn't tell if it was really fatty snapper, or lean yellowtail. Where we go, that's typically explained to us. Surprising that Danville has a good japanese restaurant that serves good quality sushi/sashimi. Tuna sashimi, cherry blossom, and 49er roll was fresh and came out beautifully. I have had their seafood udon and tempura udon. The tempura udon comes with a ton of tempura (shrimp, carrots, broccoli, green beans...can't remember what else). The tempura was fried well, crispy without the overwhelmingly feeling of oil in your mouth. The seafood udon had mussels, shrimp, scallops, cabbage and imitation crab meat. Both bowls come out piping hot and are very filling with a good broth base that isn't too salty. Service is great and they give you honeydew gum sticks with your bill! They were very good, even though they lasted for only a couple of chews. read more

This used to be the old Quizno's. Happy to see it replaced by a non-chain restaurant! Went there for lunch. Prices are decent. Ordered the bento box and was pleased with the teriyaki chicken. Very tasty. My friend ordered Japanese curry. Nice presentation (the vegetables were nice and fresh). It, too, was very tasty. We ordered a California Roll with real crab. Yum! Service was fast and friendly. They offered 20% off the check. I am assuming because they are new ? (don't know how long that will last, sure was a nice surprise.!) My friend Joey went back later that week with another co-worker and they loved it. We will definitely be back. read more

Best sushi in the area for me! A few years ago before I left SR for Houston for a work assignment, I remember seeing Senro being built. At the time, I was the foodie that I am today and never really bother to eat there. I always enjoyed sushi but I ventured further to Dublin cause I thought I'd get better sushi. After this is San Ramon and most of the food here is just good but not great. Fast forward 3 years and here I am back in SR and graving sushi. So I yelp for Sushi and to my surprise, Senro Sushi showed up with its 4 Yelp Stars. I was like I remember this place, I guess I'll try it. The setting: overall, the place is nice but really nothing to write about. it's located by the Safeway on San Ramon Valley Blvd. There's plenty of seats for 50 or so people. When I got there on a Sunday night (around 9 pm) there were hardly anyone. But this was great cause it made the prep time much faster. in terms of variety, Senro really hits a homerun. there's plenty of entrees and appetizers to choose from. There are over 20+ nigiri to choose from, and over 60 rolls!!!!! If you don't peak at the menu ahead of time, you'll be going over the menu a few times. We ordered the Shelby Roll, Carnaval, and the o-toro nigiri (just had to get it). To my surprise the rolls were delicious mainly for the following reasons: 1. The fish was fresh 2. They used real crab meat and it really does make a difference. 3. The rice was at the right temperature. 4. There wasn't an overwhelming amount of sauce on the rolls. I gobbled them quickly!!!! the nigiri o-toro itself were good but not great. the tuna didn't feel as fatty as i'd like and the fish itself was a little too cold to my taste. this probably contributed to the non melting effect. Still for $14 for a couple of pieces I wasn't offended at all by it. This leads me to my last point, the prices are great for the area. Their more expensive rolls aren't over $15 with most of them in teh 12-13 range. To me that's a steal. In conclusion, Senro will definitely be my go to sushi place when I have guest or when i need a quick dinner!!! really good place to eat!!! read more

Good sushi is hard to come by in San Ramon, and as much as I wanted to love this place, I thought the quality of sushi was just "okay." Sure, it's pretty good for San Ramon, but I've tasted better sushi elsewhere. I ordered the Dragon Roll and Carnival Roll (about eight pieces each) and the total came out to be about $29, not including tip. Nobody said sushi was cheap. Or filling. Contrary to some Yelp reviews pointing out slow service, I had no issues with the service. In fact, it was pretty speedy. I came here on a weeknight around 6 PM and only two other tables were filled at the time. I would like to think that Senro Sushi improved their service after reading what Yelpers had to say, but the fast service probably just had to do with the restaurant being slow. Oh well. read more

Tried the O-Toro nigiri, a crazy roll, and a hamachi lover. Was an ok lunch experience, a little dark in the sushi bar. I liked that while sitting at the bar you can see what the chefs are doing as the prep surface is higher than most places. Rolls were simple, average size, full of fish, avocado was a little on the soft squishy side but not going bad. I detected a slight flavor of saba in my hamachi lover roll, thought maybe the knives had touched the mackerel from another order. All the fish was served a few degrees colder than I think ideal. I kept feeling like maybe the flavors were just a little off, but no wierd fish odors so I kept eating. I was pleased to see bluefin O-Toro, the texture was nice but the flavor didn't match up to that of better sushi establishments. I wasn't wowed by my orders, but I wasn't disgusted by anything either. Service was very friendly. The chefs were nice, a couple of younger fellows with quick hands. I have not had O-Toro cut in the way this restaurant served theirs before. Both pieces seemed to have unnecessary knife scores. read more

This is a nice place. Other than it being cold and rather quiet it was amazing! As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a smile and seated. The host/server is very sweet and attentive. As soon as I was seated she asked for my drink choice. It took about 5/10 minutes for me to get my meal. I got the Rainbow Roll and the Chicken Teriyaki roll. It was beautifully arranged and once I got the right mixture of wasabi and soy sauce it was just delicious. I'd highly recommend this establishment. Plus the staff is also very attentive. read more

Challenge! HOW IS YOUR TAMAGO! I'm pretty sure you can judge a sushi restaurant by it's tamago. Is it dried out?, thin?, neglected? Wrapped up in a corner of the sushi case? The nigiri here was great. I had my typical, but atypically LARGE amaebi fried heads which were plated elegantly (heads held high). One of the eyeballs was still stuck on one of the heads... I tried to ignore it. The tamago was the best part. It was as it should be. Sweet, fluffy, the nigiri dessert. I loved it!!! read more
