Always great customer service and cheaper prices than other places. People think dealers are more expensive for service than other places but that is wrong. I called a place know for cheap tires and they were $100 cheaper than the competitors. Very honest and only replace things that are needed. They patched my tire when another place told me I need four new tires. Tires are cheaper than anywhere also. Would not go any where else again. read more

I do not have any experience shopping for a vehicle at this dealership, but I recently brought a Mazda3 in for a routine oil change, emissions inspection, and minor manufacturer recall. Booking the appointment online was easy, and the drop off / pick up was also easy. There is a clean, comfortable waiting area for customers. The employees I encountered were polite and professional. The price for an oil change is high, though comparable to other dealerships in the area. Had it not been for the recall, I likely would have had the vehicle serviced elsewhere. Based on my experience though, I would consider returning here for future maintenance needs. read more

On March 18, 2025, I purchased a 2025 Mazda 3 from Sentry West Mazda at 940 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury Massachusetts. I am a longtime fan of Mazda's and have owned them for over 15 years. I was happy with the sales experience, gave the dealership a positive rating on several sites, and told friends and family that I would recommend the dealership. Five weeks later I was surprised to discover a large bubble on the front passenger tire. I knew that I hadn't hit a curb, so the bubble was a shock. I brought the car to Sentry West Mazda and the young man at the counter said that they would look at it and give me an estimate of the cost. I told him that I didn't think I should pay anything because the tire had only 1,400 miles on it. He spoke to the manager and came back stating that all they could do was sell me the tire at cost and not charge labor. The manager explained to me that the tire wasn't defective, and that a low-profile tire is susceptible to such things. Although I wasn't happy about it, I could understand the situation once it was explained to me. I received the estimate and the tire was $305.50. I was surprised at the price, since I was told I would only be charged their cost, but I don't know how much these tires cost and I believed that they were honoring their statement. (I've since learned that I could have bought the same tire elsewhere for $230 so clearly that wasn't their cost). I wasn't advised that an alignment would also be necessary until the car was ready to pick up, at which point I incurred an additional cost for that. So, $452.20 later, I have my $31,000 vehicle with 1,400 miles on it and a very bad experience to tell people about. Sentry could have educated me about the issue with this type of tire, taken care of the issue in good faith, and kept what would have been a loyal customer. Instead, for the sake of a few hundred dollars they've assured that I will never recommend them again. They did waive the $5 tire disposal fee. read more

THis is the 2nd CX5 I've bought from this dealership, bringing both to them for service. Brought it in to them because my husband noticed leaking from what we thought was oil. They said they couldn't find any leaking. Took to another mechanic who diagnosed it as leaking from the left rear axle. When I questioned Jim Kelly about it he basically told me I was a liar and that literally "It is not possible for the rear axle to leak". I called Mazda Wellesley to confirm and they said that was ridiculous - that indeed it is very possible for the seal on the rear axle to leak and they see that all the time. Despite living an hour away, I bought a car here because they had cars I was interested in test driving when nearby places were out of stock, and the price was ideal. Every employee I interacted with has always been easy to work with and very professional (Thanks Tim!). They answer all your questions and let you make your decision. This is refreshing since there are many dealers out there who take the aggressive/pressuring approach. I continue to take the long drive and get my car serviced here since I find that the service is consistently better than what I get at other branches. **This is a review for the service department only.** I bought a 2016 CX-5 from Carvana, 43k mileage, on April 2022. (I'll never do that again) I decided since I had no prior experience with Mazda's I would go to a dealer for all my work. Sentry West was the closest so it became my default location. I had no expectations to start. After purchasing the CX-5 I brought it to Sentry West's service department and had them do a safety inspection and oil change. They let me know the brakes were almost gone and needed to be replaced asap. also sent along video proof for me to watch. Sentry West helped me get Carvana to pay for the work considering the car was brand new to me. They took care of all the contact with Carvana and I never had to do anything. Our relationship was already off to a good start. They completed the work quickly and I think I had my car back same day. (10 months ago so I cant really remember) I had 2 oil changes which were quick and painless as well. The reason for this review is because of my most recent experience. I was driving home from work and I heard a knocking sound in the engine, pulled over and noticed oil pouring out of the bottom. (You can imagine how I felt) called a tow truck and then Sentry West. Jim the manager was really helpful. A snow storm was coming and he let me know where to have the tow driver leave the car. He spoke to me plainly which is something I always appreciate. Never sold me on anything just helped me get everything squared away. Turns out there was an internal issue that destroyed the engine. I needed a new engine at 55k. Not too happy. Jim worked with Mazda corporate to help me out. Definitely something I needed being a solo parent of 3. They let me use a loaner while they got me a new engine. I can't tell you enough how helpful everyone was and how I was never stressed throughout the process. They did everything for me and even saved me money. Isn't that the point? if Their sales are anything like the service I'll probably get my next Mazda there. That cx-50 looks nice! I know I'm a rando online but honestly, I'm picky as hell. If I could choose less than zero stars, I would. I've only written two reviews in my life, and this one needs to be written. Purchased my CX5 here in 2020 and had a great experience with the sales agent. Fast forward to 2024, and I brought my car here for an interior detail. Picked up the car at the bottom of the hill after hours, and was greeted by a huge spider and spiderweb hanging from the front seat. Since then, 6-7 large spiders have appeared inside my car (never had this problem for years, parking in the exact same spot). Very weird, but let it go. I also noticed that the trunk was not touched and was left completely dirty. Called the dealership, asked to have them redo the trunk. Someone answered and said I could bring it anytime and they would give me a loaner for the day. Tried to set up a time but didn't receive any return texts from my service person, so called the dealership today. After 3 minutes of ringing, the phone was finally picked up by Jim, the manager. He was immediately defensive and had an incredibly obnoxious attitude. I asked about the trunk, and he replied that I "hadn't requested an interior cleaning". Then he checked his notes and backtracked, and said that they "never touch the trunk anyway during a full interior detail" (seriously?). I decided to mention the spiders and he immediately snapped. He was practically yelling at me that how dare I accuse them of "putting spiders in my car". This is just comical at this point . I replied that I was simply mentioning it in case they were leaving cars with windows down etc- and he was so offended that I would suggest such a thing and continued practically screaming at me. He yelled at me for literally 5 minutes and wouldn't let me get a word in. After 5 minutes, he said I could bring the car in during the week (on my work time) and they would clean the trunk while I sat and waited. What a JOKE this manager is. I paid for a FULL cleaning and because of your mistake, I have to drive 30 minutes back and wait? NO THANK YOU. I was going to trade my car in this year for a new CX5 but I will NEVER deal with Sentry Mazda EVER AGAIN. If Jim is the manager there, you're better off going to Wellesley Mazda or ANY other Mazda. WORST car service I've ever had in my life. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND EVEN WORSE ATTITUDE. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

My experience with Sentry West Mazda was fantastic. I recently took my 2009 Mazda 6I to fix a flat after hitting a giant pothole. While completing the task, they found a significant unrelated issue. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me the part was still under warranty and replaced it at no cost. The service technician was courteous, friendly, and professional, explaining the process clearly and keeping me updated. It's amazing how my 14-year-old Mazda 6I still drives like new, thanks to Mazda's excellent design, exceptional workmanship, and quality parts. That said, I feel the professional, trustworthy, and efficient service from Jim Kelley and his team at Sentry West Mazda service is what makes keeping the car in this shape a pleasure. This is the third time I've brought a job to this dealership and they've refused to do it. The first time, they had some sort of employee emergency. The second time, I called ahead and the agent I spoke to said I could bring it in, Jim Kelly, the service manager immediately greeted me with refusal to do the job, and had no interest in finding out who had told me otherwise or why. The third time, the installation instructions for the part mysteriously vanished and they were somehow unable to find them online. Later that day, I found the document online instantly with a simple google search, but not before Jim told me that he no longer had any interest in doing the job and kicked me out. Jim Kelly, the service manager, is not the type of man I prefer to do business with. He is a buffoon with no tact and no manners. Not once did he apologize for the mix-up or try to make things right, just stubbornly refused to do the job as though I were inconveniencing him by giving him my business. I only came back because the price he quoted me was the best, and it would have been worth the aggravation if he had actually done the job. Copying from my google review... I bought a certified used 2021 cx30 from Sentry right before Christmas time. I showed up without an appointment and within 5 minutes they let me and my mother in law take the car out for a test drive ourselves which was great! We loved the car, so we went back and got a trade-in value on my old car. Compared to the other dealerships that I looked at, Sentry gave me the best trade-in value for my car. (Sentry essentially told me they would only break even with my car because it was so old. They would just take it to auction and probably only get the amount that they paid me for it) Tim, our sales person, was very nice and helpful and he wasn't pushy. I left after getting my trade-in value , and then called the next morning to tell him that I wanted to buy the car. When I arrived, he let me know that they certified the car since I last drove it, which brought up the price by $1500, but because I'd already seen the car before it was certified, they dropped it down to only an additional $500 for me, which I think is a really great deal of all of the things that I get the certification. two days after getting the car, I had an engine light come on. I brought the car back to the dealership and they fixed it for me free of charge. I have had problems twice there now. The first one I got a new battery and they blew out my headlight. They eventually agreed to fix it for free but it was a stressful to even get to that point. This past one they said they did a multi point inspection and than I broke down 5 days later on the highway because of missed problems in my car that would have been found in a scan. I brought it in for a oil change and that is all they did. I think the max they did for this "inspection" was check my break pads and my tire tread. My battery level was very low, my radiator fluid was below low...just really concerning. I paid $120 for them to fill my oil and poke my tire treads. read more

First things first, I couldn't be happier with my experience buying a 2019 Mazda CX 5 at Sentry West. Nick Scherer was my salesman and he was great! Let's rewind; I was in the market for a small SUV. I test drove a RAV4 and CRV at the other dealers in town. They were both fine vehicles but both dealerships were mobbed with people and it was a challenge getting helped. When I was finally helped, both salesmen didn't seem that knowledgeable about the vehicles as I had some basic questions that they couldn't answer. Long story short, my experience at the other two dealerships was uncomfortable and annoying. When I walked into Sentry West, I was immediately greeted by Nick. I explained to him what it was I was looking for and we were out on the road test driving the Mazda CX-5 within 10 minutes. While on the road, Nick did a great job pointing out all the vehicle's features. I was super impressed with his friendliness, professionalism, and his knowledge of the vehicle. When we got back to the dealership, we sat down and talked numbers. I asked Nick to put together a price that would beat all the nearby competition. I was told my car had a Salvage title from a sales person here named Scott and offered me a little under 6,000 for my 2014 MKS with 65,000 miles on it, I brought it to another dealership who laughed and said that my car doesn't have a Salvaged Title and offered me double the price for my car. I ended up getting a 2017 MKZ same one I wanted from Sentry West but cheaper and less miles. I cant believe I was told my car had a Salvage title from this sales person when it didn't I wouldn't recommend this place, he was defiantly trying to get my MKS way cheaper than what it was worth and then try and tell me that it had a Salvage title was shocking to me. Bought my 2011 Mazda 6 here, for one reason only. It was the only manual transmission I could find! The price online was $400 cheaper than the price at the dealership. The sales guy said he would knock $300 off as a "service gesture", then handed me paperwork stating that the price was still $100 more than they advertised online! Then they made me feel like I was cheap for insisting on the price listed online! Really? $100 is $100! Honor your ads! Anywho- the flip-down eyeglass holder was broken and wouldn't stay closed, so I brought it back. The GM told me that they wouldn't replace it. It was $168 for the part! He offered to glue it shut so it wouldn't block my rear view mirror any longer. His tech tried to "fix it", and BROKE IT OFF! When I came back for the car, the part was ripped out and sitting on the seat. I brought it back in to the GM, who gave me the dirtiest look, as if EYE broke it! Wouldn't believe that I found it like that until he went to Service himself to confirm it. Only then did they finally agree to replace the part. Also- trunk was covered in scratches. Sales person promised to have service "wet sand the trunk, but I can't promise that they will come out." They sanded NOTHING, didn't even buff it, and then told me they tried! Yeah- I have to join the crew of people trashing this dealership. This is a review of the service department only. This place is why dealerships get a bad rap! I went in for a scheduled oil change and was met by a rude and uninterested service tech. When I leased my car 6 months ago I was given a free oil change by the sales manager (his business card with the date and his initials), when I presented this card to the service tech. (Brian) he stared at it for several seconds before stating he would have to "look into this". Like I faked a free oil change. Fast forward a week, when my husband and I were out of town and my oil light comes on stating low oil level. We scrambled to find an auto shop that could look at the car last minute on a Saturday and while searching I made a call to the service center at the dealership to look for help/explanation. Once the assistant manager (Justin) got back to me he basically accused me or causing the oil leak stating the only 2 things that could have been left loose during the oil change were the oil filter or plug and the effect would be immediate. Well when I picked up my car from the out of town auto shop I was told BOTH those things were "extremely" loose! I'm pretty sure I didn't leave those things loose. 3 days later I received a call from the service manager asking if my situation had been resolved. When I explained that yes another shop took care of their mess up and I was extremely disappointed in how the dealership handled the situation, I was told that isn't how things are normally handled but thanks for my input. That was it! No we are so sorry, what can we do to fix this...NOTHING! Don't waste your time or money here, go to an auto shop that knows how to at least do an oil change correctly. Finally got my wife her CX-5 GT. Not a bad experience, very nice atmosphere, relaxed, no pressure. I knew what I wanted and all we had to do was crunch numbers. I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars due to our low trade in value for my wife's car. We could have done much better in that regard but what can you do, I still got a great price for a top of the line CX-5 and she loves it. Good people here at Sentry. I bought my car here back in September. At first I was kind of put off that I had to go hunt down someone to let me test drive the car I wanted to look at, but in the end I was beyond satisfied with the lack of pressure, knowledge, and professionalism everyone that i worked with there had. Jay was my salesperson, and I thought he was great - laid back, knowledgeable, honest, and very friendly. The sales manager was super-nice, and even the Finance Manager (who I was nervous to deal with) had everything ready to go for me and got me in and out the door as quickly as possible. A very good experience, overall. Since my purchase, I've had to deal with the Service Department a couple of times for an ongoing and bizarre issue with my Bluetooth. From the initial phone call about the problem onward, I have been beyond impressed with how I've been treated. I've dealt with Dan, Eric, and the Service Manager, Jim, quite a bit. All have been courteous and friendly every time I've interacted them. When my issue could not be resolved after leaving the car with them for the day (they gave me a free loaner - I just paid for gas), I thought I would be SOL. However, Jim continued to check in with me and continued to investigate on his side of things. Today he was able to resolve my issue permanently! I had my last car for 10 years and drove it until it had nearly 200,000 miles on it. I never once received the level of service with my previous dealership as I've received from Sentry West. This place would not honor a recall for a Lincoln. They stated that they will officially no longer be a Lincoln dealer as of the end of May. Well it's only May 19th. Still have the same service staff as before so that's not the issue. I assume it has to do with reimbursement. Probably wouldn't get it by the time they were done with Lincoln. But that's not my problem. One would think that this dealership would have informed ALL their Lincoln customers of this change, but no, nothing. Any customer who purchased a Lincoln from them recently are screwed. The nearest Lincoln dealer is an hour way. Who's going to want to drive that far away for service. To me this dealership is all about the buck and not the customers! read more

I had a very bad experience with Jim the service manager. Car had a dead battery one morning, I jumped it and checked if charging, it was, car sat for 3 days in garage and it happened again. I put in a new battery and it did it again after about 3 days sitting in garage. It must of had a parasitic draw and would kill the battery. Brought it to Sentry West, the two service writers were great. I told them about the problem and had them replace the new battery I had just put in as you can't trust a battery that has been completely dead. Picked up car 2 days later, they ordered a door module which was the problem and unplugged it so it wouldn't be a parasitic draw, and I could have the car back as it would take several weeks to get the part and have it painted. Two days later same problem. I call and phone goes to machine during open hours. I call again a half hour later and same thing, I leave a message this time. I call an hour later and someone answers hello, I ask if this is service he says yes. I told him what was happening (had no clue who it was) he told me to call Roadside assistance. I bring the car to Shrewsbury and ask them what's going to happen now, again service writer is great. Then Jim comes, I introduce myself and we talk about the symptoms. Then I tell him I'm not comfortable with the battery anymore as it has gone completely dead and I already went through this with a brand new battery I had just installed and had Sentry put a new one in to replace my new one as batteries might seem fine but when they have gone completely dead they are not 100 % anymore. That's when it started, Jim told me Lincoln won't replace the battery, I reiterated it's been compromised and we went back and forth a little. Then Jim told me in 60 days they won't be a Lincoln dealer anymore. I asked why he said that and to me that meant he doesn't care, he gave me a little smirk and didn't answer me. I tried to explain to him what course I was going to take now and preempted my explanation with "don't take this the wrong way", "this is not a threat" this is what I'm going to do as you leave me no choice (I'm not going to stand there and argue with him) I told him I'm going to dispute the charge on the battery, file a complaint with BBB and finally go to small claims. At that point he told me to get in my car and get it out of there. I don't think I got a bad battery. They said they took care of the parasitic draw and they didn't, that's what hurt the battery. I don't feel discord with the mechanic for not getting the draw on the battery fixed the first time, these vehicles are very complex. I do however hold Sentry responsible for that new battery being diminished, I'm not trying to get something for nothing here, as is shown with me replacing the new battery I installed several days later, having Sentry replace it with a new one. Jim has caused all this over what amounts to under a $100. He did nothing but give me excuses as to show me the cost would be on me to do this and he would be out of the Lincoln business in 60 days. After he told me to "get in my car and get it out" on the way out he shouted out "I'll cancel your parts" unbelievable interaction with this guy, so now I'm forced to waste my time righting a wrong. The Service Department at Sentry West Mazda are always friendly, courteous and professional. Fortunately, I have not had any major repairs on my CX7, but whenever I have brought my car in for service, I get exceptional service. They are prompt with their service and I haven't had to wait an excessive amount of time for my car to be completed. They have even provided a loaner car for me when I had an appointment. Larry was my salesperson and he did not do a bad job. He was no pressure and while I was only there to test drive one car I DID end up leaving a deposit on a used 2016 CX5 with 15k miles. The problem was when I went to pick up the car... I was going in with the intention to put whatever balance I had ($4,500) on my credit card and I already had a live check from my bank where I did my financing. I was told I couldn't do that because they only put a max charge of $2,500 on ALL cards across the board. Mind you no one mentioned that to me at all during all our other transactions and I drove over an hour to get to that dealer. The Sales manager Tim (I believe his name is) basically kept telling me I could go to the bank to add the balance onto my loan and that was the extent of his "help". Long story short I told him no I would not be restructuring my loan to benefit them when it was already set up to my liking. I called my bank, verified my information and then walked back into the dealer to cancel the sale. The Sales manager did not bat an eye and basically agreed. I don't play the woman card alot but I honestly did get the feeling that he thought that I would just agree with everything he said because I was a woman by herself buying a car... Throughout all this the one person I felt bad for was the sales guy because he wasn't even there to watch his sale go up in flames thanks to his supervisor. So all in all if you want to go to dealer where they love to NOT sell cars and play hardball with their customers then by all means go here!!!! p.s. Sentry West delivered my new car with a dent. When I brought it to their attention, they scribbled down the name of an outside repair location and told me to arrange for repair myself. Well, now two years later, the dent is still there and I have moved on to another dealer. read more
