Stopped in for lunch and was greeted and sat right away. The restaurant is nicely decorated. I decided to try something different and went with the pad kee mao. I'm glad I did because it was really good. The server recommended that I may like to add chili vinegar and she was right. It really brightened up the already tasty dish. I also got the roti massaman. I wish I could have that every day! Service was very friendly and helpful. Parking is not always great because it's in 5 Points but I lucked out with a spot directly across the street. Would definitely recommend Senyai to anyone and definitely want to try their curries now!

I ordered chicken pad Thai to go. It was very good. The portion was generous compared to other Thai restaurants in the area. But it was spicier than I expected. The spice level is from level 1 to 3. I picked level 2 and I felt my mouth was on fire. So something to consider, order 1 level below what you normally would at other Thai places.

I stopped in Senyai for a snack break while exploring 5 points. Somehow resisting the temptation of ordering a noodle or soup entree from their super straightforward but plentiful menu. I think that customers will appreciate the abundance of photos on the menu! To stay true to my snack goals, I ordered the roti and bok choy. Why was this the best execution on an often slept-on leafy green? The perfect crisping of the leaf edges complemented the juicy base. The garlic was necessary and not overpowering, as was the seemingly soy based sauce that was delicately drizzled on top. This "snack," paired with a glass of their house cabernet actually ended up being the perfect meal! I can see myself returning, still curious about the other options on their menu, but leaning into the comfort and freshness of that roti and bok choy!

The service was great ! They are very sweet, informative and attentive! They are very quick as well! The food was some of the best food I've ever had! So flavorful and delicious. I don't often have duck but mine did have 2 little bones in it which I found and that really scared me. This may be normal so if so count this as 4.5 stars The soup was delish ! We couldn't stop eating it beyond the point of full because it was just that good! The roti was delicious as well ! I had mango sticky rice for my first time which was so good! It is very culturally appropriate inside! And clean ! They had on trendy Music which we really enjoyed! I highly recommend and can't wait to go back and try so many more options!

Amazing service! Friendly and quick, the server also had great recommendations! The tom yum with shrimp (bright wonderful light taste) was small but I also enjoyed an order of roti (sooo yummy!) Husband got Gui Tiaw Nam Sai with egg noodles and added the chili sauce and it was fantastic!!!! We are so happy to have found authentic thai food! Will be back for much more!

What a gem in 5 points! Went for lunch during the week and easily found parking, surprisingly. The restaurant was so cute inside and not crowded at all - perfect for a work lunch. The lunch specials were great too - $15 for an entre which includes a drink and soup or spring rolls. I will say to pay attention to spice level - as an authentic thai restaurant, I probably needed a 0 spice level. The tom yum soup was so delicious but I couldn't eat more than a few bites. The drunken noodles was incredible but I got a spice level 1 and it was a lot for me! Recommend a zero for next time! Our server was wonderful as well. Please come check out this local and authentic restaurant, it is special!

I'd been meaning to try this restaurant for a while, and the Vegan Chef Challenge finally gave me the perfect excuse. I stopped by on a Friday for lunch and was able to take advantage of their $15 lunch special, which includes an entrée, a drink, and your choice of soup or spring rolls. I went with the Tofu Pad Kaprao and spring rolls, and it was an excellent deal for the quality and flavor. My server was bubbly, friendly, and made the experience even better. I had such a great visit and will definitely be coming back!

Crispy Bok Choy and Roti with Massaman Curry

We dined in on a weeknight and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered a roti and the crispy bok choy for appetizers and were not disappointed in either. The bok choy had a wonderful garlicky sauce. For entrees we ordered pad pak ruam with tofu and the kang massaman with shrimp. The tofu was crispy and the curry had a hint of cinnamon which was wonderful.

Hello yelpers, this is my second time at Senyai. I was pleased overall. The food was fresh and delicious, as it was my first visit. The service was impeccable and friendly, and the ambience is quaint. I'll share two pictures. The first one is of the Laab appetizer that I had, which was delicious. The second is the stir-fry, which I asked to be Thai hot, and I think it was slightly burnt in the wok, but not inedible, I've had better (and definitely had worse), so I'm not using it as a negative review, but I'll give it a third try to see how they do once more. Decent Thai food is difficult to find in Jacksonville. I prefer the Larb appetizer at Senyai to other local places. This place is definitely worth a visit. Enjoy.

Holy MOLY! This was the best tai food I have ever had!!! We started with the fried bokchoy, and let me tell you the sauce on this dish was so delicious I wanted to lick the plate! We also ordered the spring rolls and they actually tasted fresh vs the packaged/frozen ones most restaurants serve. Me and my boyfriend both ordered the Pad Woonsen which was loaded with perfectly cooked vegetables. I ordered the tofu and my boyfriend ordered the shrimp. The tofu was perfectly fried (&not soggy it stayed nice and firm) and the shrimp was huge! He said it was PERFECTLY cooked. Mae was our server and she was just the sweetest. Very attentive and knowledgeable, she is the real deal! The restaurant ambiance was very chill and relaxing perfect date night spot. 10/10 gotta try if you're looking for a new tai spot!

In the area and I always crave Asian food. We had the pad seew, I can appreciate it included Chinese broccoli and it was full of flavor. The larb pork was good and I like the mint in it. I did not like the giant pieces of kaffir lime leaf and galanga. I would have preferred it chopped finely in mix. For a level 3 spice level, I would expect some heat. The fried rice was perfect. The bok choy was amazing. Don't change a thing! The gui thiaw nam tok broth was perfect. Full of savory richness and flavor. I wish I could have had it spicier. The last thing we had was Roti and it was perfectly buttery and delicious. My final recommendation would be to not offer chilis and charge for them. Several dishes have the option for spice levels and I didn't appreciate it showing up on the bill as an extra charge. It was $3.50 for spicy chili oil and it was not spicy, $2.50 for chili flakes, and $3.50 for fish sauce with fresh chili. Senyai did provided excellent service and our meal was prepared pretty quickly. I would maybe come back.

Sad to leave a bad review for this adorable restaurant with friendly staff. I was craving thai food and this spot has been on my radar. I checked out their photos and yelp reviews and decided to order pad thai with tofu (add extra veggies), a tom yum soup, and a thai tea. The total was almost $40. I liked that I got a text when my takeout order was ready. The person that greeted me was so friendly and excited that it was my first time in. I got my heavy bag of food and headed home to open it up. Everything looked delicious! Huge portion of the pad thai too. I started with soup, which i got spice level 1. I am always hesitant to get too spicy at new places if I don't know their spice level. On a scale of 1-10, I usually go with 5. I just got level 1 here and holy cow the soup was equivalent to a spice level 8? I tried to eat it, because it was so flavorful, but I just could not enjoy it at all. I had to dump the whole $9 soup. I was so bummed. Tom yum is a little spicy on it's own, so I was excited for my pad thai spice level 1 that would normally not be spicy at all. The noodles were red. I should have known. Another insanely hot bowl that I sadly had to throw away. My mouth was on fire. I'd say this was also spice level 8-9 when I asked for 1. It was so incredibly spicy and salty. Another reviewer mentioned their dish being too salty and tasting like parmesan cheese. I totally ignored that because I thought it was odd until it was all I could taste in mine. Crunchy chunks of salt that tasted like crystallized parm. It was SO salty. Overall this meal was super disappointing and I had to throw the soup and the pad thai away after only eating a few bites of each. I really have never done that before. The thai tea on the other hand was tasty but so so sweet. I don't think I can give this spot another shot unfortunately. read more

The choices offered are exceptionally delicious. I ordered the green curry. Fabulous! The best green curry I've tasted in a long while as it is a fresh authentic taste with a small amount of heat! My heat tooth isn't what it used to be due to ulcers. In any event the menus here is very good! The clientele are serious Thai food officionodos Here who enjoy the real deal! Most restaurants hate it when one comes alone for dinner. I'll admit I have come a time or two alone with a book to dinner. Usually most restaurants frown on this! But anything goes here at Senyai! My husband and I visited Thailand 2 years ago and absolutely fell in love the food, culture and people. Since being back, we have struggled to find Thai food that is just as delicious and authentic. Senyai is the full package. Kind, caring people who expertly serve the most authentic and delicious Thai food. We seriously felt like we were back in Thailand. Got take out on this cold day. I needed Tom kha soup but they were out when I went before. I love Tom kha and this was my favorite for sure! Can choose multiple protein but i chose veggie. Usually a restaurant will just omit the protein or add more of the same vegetables but there was the usual greens carrots, and mushrooms but the cauliflower, baby corns and so much more. All the veggies were cooked perfectly and the broth had so much flavor! I don't know what would come in the soup with a protein but I'm sure going to find out! Pad see eiw I've had here before and the star of the show are the perfectly cooked noodles. Not a bit soggy but have that perfect spongy bite. The house sauce is great too, next time I'll ask to make it a bit saucier. And yup, will get this again and again! read more

I cannot express how deeply I love this place. Me and my friend started with the gyoza and it didn't last two minutes. Same with the spring rolls. For the entre I had the drunken noodles and nearly lost my mind I was barking. The service is excellent. Our waiter, Tiger had a smile on his face and was extremely affable and great to get along with. The whole thing felt like an experience. This is my favorite spot in Jacksonville. Go here. Best authentic Thai mom and pop restaurant in Jax. Every single item on the menu is excellent so far. Curry puff appetizers and mango sticky rice desert are the best. Parking can be a problem at peak times so plan on doing some walking to get there. read more

The overall aesthetic and atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered a takeout for the Traditional Authentic Pad Thai and 'GUI TIAW ÑAM TOK', which is a dark broth enhanced with fully cooked pork for a richer, more robust flavor. I cannot believe this place doesn't have a line out the door! This has to be the best thai food in jacksonville I have ever had! and our waitress was beyond knowledgeable, kind, and attentive! The walls are a little bare right now, but she told me she's going to Thailand five weeks and will be bringing more back. For now they have a great big screen with music videos playing. Man. What a treat! I am so mad at myself for discovering Senyai so late. They are celebrating an anniversary this week . I chose the Kang Massaman Curry (with chicken) and I was not disappointed. In fact it was the best I've ever had. The cinnamon aroma had me salivating before I took my first bite. The strawberry fizzy drink was very refreshing. Of course no curry is complete without a cold bottle of Singha. Can't wait to try the next item on the menu. The service was top notch. I was waited on no less than 6 times in 30 minutes. I am new to Jacksonville and wanted to eat Thai for lunch. All I can say is I will be back to try every item on the menu. Pad see eiw was one of the most authentic I have had in years. Not too heavy in sauce but perfect flavor and texture (cooked just right) Met Nina, one of the owners and she is determined to bring great authentic Thai to Jacksonville. Both the tase and the ambiance are very relaxing. Her restaurant is extremely clean with personal service. I look forward to my next visit! read more

I just had an amazing bowl of glass noodles in Chicken broth. I wanted everything on the menu but was looking for a light but healing meal since having an upset stomach the day before. Let me tell you - this restaurant has the best food and service! Soooo good! And I'm a restaurant pro. Forget Hawkers! They cannot beat the food or the service! You can't taste the heritage and thoughtful preparation and every bite felt nutritious and healing! So I had some ice cream! Delish! I'll be back again and again! read more

Senyai Thai Street Food and Noodle Bar started with Nina, born and raised in Thailand and a noodle boat lover at heart. After living in New York for a decade, where finding real Thai food was easier, she always dreamed of opening her own authentic Thai restaurant in America. Though she had little experience in the restaurant industry, it became her hidden dream. After losing her design job during COVID, Nina moved to Florida and began helping her friend run a Japanese restaurant. That experience gave her the confidence to pursue her own vision: a place that would reflect everything about Thailand—Thai alphabet, music, culture, and most importantly, food that’s exactly like what people eat in Thailand. Clark, an entrepreneur and world traveler from Jacksonville, FL, who shares a deep love for Thai food and culture, joined her on this journey. Good place to visit if craving some Asian food with limited options in the area.

It was super crispy, but the meat was still so juicy. And the sweet and creamy sauces just finished the perfect bite. The ramens were pretty solid too. The matcha broth was super creamy and light. And the tonkotsu was so flavorful, with really tender chashu and a perfectly soft boiled egg. Plus the noodles were a really good texture. The restaurant itself is really cute too. They also have a convenience store type of ramen station in the front, which I really want to try. As well as a little arcade game that you can play in the front while you wait to be seated. However, I was really not a fan of the service. It's nothing really against the servers because they were super nice, but they just seemed so frazzled. We arrived around an hour before closing, but it took forever for us to be seated, despite seeing a few empty tables around. By the time we were seated, we were told kitchen would be closing in two minutes, so we had to hurry and put in our orders. All of that was fine and I didn't mind. But what I did mind was that our waitress checked our order twice when we first have it. And she came back to our table within the next five minutes to check our orders again for a third time to make sure she had down what we wanted. I wanted the matcha ramen and was most looking forward to having some chashu and egg. So she confirmed my order three times that I wanted matcha ramen. But when it came out, she gave me the vegetable bowl. I knew the kitchen had closed at that point, so I just ate it, but I was really disappointed. (I did get to try a bite of my friends egg and chashu, which also didn't really help because it was so good and made me wish mine came with those even more.) When we were finished eating, it took forever for the checks to come out. This I also didn't mind that much, because the servers, again, looked really frazzled trying to close up. But at this point we had waited until well after their closing time, so part of me was hoping they could just close us out first and then finish closing down the place. I think we waited at least half an hour from when we first asked for the check (at which point we had already been waiting a while) to when we finally got our cards back. I did see they charged me for the vegetable version of the matcha ramen so it was whatever, but then also I was confused - so it wasn't a mix up in the kitchen, she rang it up as the vegetable one from the beginning! Even though I never mentioned it and she never said vegetable when confirming my order. It was a dollar less to get tofu instead of an egg and chashu which doesn't seem worth it. Writing this all out, I'm sorry to rant, because the food really was good. And looking at other reviews, it looks like the service is usually pretty good. But again, it was just disappointing. He wasn't in a hurry to get me off the phone and actually seemed happy that I called with questions. He answered all of my questions and even gave me some menu item suggestions. Here are a few tips, for parties or large families the restaurant offers party tray sizes. Also if you call early for large orders and let restaurant know when (what time) you need to pickup the party order they will try to have your order ready for you. They will also add bean sprouts and egg to you fried rice if you ask (do yourself a favor ASK!). Okay let's talk about the food. Let's just say Crazy Chopsticks had me when I read another post claiming that Crazy Chopsticks served good ole back in the day brown fried rice. If you really want to jump back in a Time Machine request the addition of bean sprouts and eggs to your fried rice order. Ohhhh, it was excellent! See photos! My order included a few types of fried rice chicken, shrimp and house fried rice. Flavor wise they were great especially with the bean sprouts and egg additions. The only thing I noticed was that there were smaller pieces of chicken in the chicken fried rice and not larger sizes of chicken like those in the chicken and broccoli dishes. Also the size of the shrimp are smaller for the rice and Lo-mein compared to the larger shrimp found in the other dishes like shrimp and broccoli for instance. If someone from Crazy Chopsticks reads this review consider adding green onions, bean and egg to you fried rice! Everyone should experience the retro classic fried rice! The Lo-mein was excellent also. The Lo-mein and fried rice both had that kiss of a sizzling iron wok taste. It's a special char taste. It's that special flavor like the difference between a burger cooked on a griddle and a burger that cooked on charcoal grill. They are both great but one really says Summer is here! The egg rolls and dumplings were amazing. The dumplings were perfectly cooked, the filling wasn't dry and it was well seasoned. The sauce had great flavor tangy and slightly sweet at the same time. The egg rolls were nice and crunchy and Crazy Chopsticks carries the duck sauce that has apricots in it! So extra bonus points for that. I'd love a vegetable egg roll option though (one with the wonton wrapper that is) I'm not sure if they offer one though as this also seems to be one of those phantom things from the 90s! Let's talk main dishes. The chicken and broccoli was excellent. The brown sauce is the classic salty/ umami sauce not the sweet brown sauce. The chicken was very tender and the broccoli was fresh and still had the right amount of crunchiness. The same goes for the shrimp and broccoli. The shrimp were large, fresh and clean. The shrimp egg fu yung and the vegetable egg fu yung dishes were perfectly cooked. As you can see in the photos the container had a bit of extra oil but placing the patties on paper towels before plating them helped with that. The shrimps were fresh and clean. The vegetable egg fu yung included carrots, broccoli, onions, mushrooms and I believe zucchini. The dish was chocked full of vegetables. The gravy had good flavor, it wasn't the sweet type of gravy. The gravy was pretty oily on top though. Once I removed the extra oil the gravy was great. The sweet and sour chicken was good also. Not overly battered like some places serve with mostly batter and barely any chicken, you know what I'm talking about. No, these had a great balance just enough batter for a crispy outside and nice juicy tender pieces of chicken on the inside. The sweet and sour sauce was unique not your typical sauce, there was a little something different in it that made it a step above most Chinese takeaways. Give it a try to see what I mean! The sesame chicken was delightful. The sauce on the sesame chicken was really good! The chicken was tender and juicy and the breading was just right not overly breaded or so hard that the chicken sounds like rocks hitting your plate. Anyone that enjoys sesame chicken will like this one. Then there's the garlic Fried Chicken wings. I believe this was their #1 seller for fried chicken. I ordered one order with sauce and one order with sauce on the side. The order with sauce was good, nice and flavorful. The chicken wings that had the sauce on the side were slightly overcooked. The tables have the both the BBQ grill and the hot pots. Food - try it all! They have all your meats and stuff in a buffet area. everything we tried was fresh and delicious. We had both the grill and the hot pots. Each of us tried a different base and all of them were good. I would go traditional if I was you. Food conveyor - just like you see in Japan! Alls sorts of items come by your table. If I could say anything bad it would be that I wish some of the portions were smaller - there are so many things to try and I no longer each like a college student. Service - our server never left us wanting for anything. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I look forward to bringing more friends here in the future. The place is large and can accommodate larger groups - I think I saw one group of about 15. It may seem a little pricey for some but you have lots of options and it's worth it.

The floors were crazy clean and not at all slippery or squeaky. Bathrooms were also clean.

It all started out nice. Fun music, full tables, very nice women at the host stand. So I put a takeout order in, for 3 meals being sure to ask about how spicy things were as I ordered due to my child not liking spice, she said they were busy so it'd be 20 minutes. So i waited for 30 minutes before asking if my order was close to being up. Knowing it was busy. She said "oh I'm so sorry. They're cooking it now, I forgot to put the order in." Then runs off in the direction of the kitchen. Things only got worse from there. About 25 minutes later a bag is brought out and I'm off back home to the hungry wife and son. I get home and unpack the food. First, they forgot one of the meals all together so basically stole $20 from me when unless I now drive the 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back for the meal. That's not happening. Second, the duck I paid $25 for was rock hard and looked like it had been under a heat lamp all day, the "pad Thai" ,or their version of it, was dry, full of rancid stiff noodles and non of that mattered because it was all covered in so much hot red peppers that we couldn't eat it. So if your into disappointment go here for a disgusting and terrible experience. $75 and it all ended up in the trash. Oh except for my pork that I never got. read more

After considering various dining options, we settled on having an early dinner at Senyai Thai at 5 Points, and we were glad we did. The restaurant offered an authentic Thai culinary experience, and we were impressed by the rich flavors in each dish. We had the chicken Pad Woon Sen and the beef Kaprao, which were both cooked to perfection. To begin our meal, we had their chicken Satay as an appetizer, which was a great choice. I tried this place on Mother's Day, because another Thai place was closed. I musty say I was pleasantly pleased. Welcoming atmosphere, friendly hospitality, and the food was tasty/and cooked with perfection. I'll definitely go back. This is favorite stop of mine for my business lunch hour; however, it is a hit for every occasion. Local media does not lie, this is authentic as Thai food gets in the area.
