Senza gluten was nothing short of a magical experience. With the menu entirely dedicated gluten free, safe for celiacs, it's a rare celiac experience with tons of choices (good for vegans and vegetarians too!). They start you off with a complimentary basket of table bread. This is the highlight of the meal for a celiac. I haven't had such warm, fluffy, bread-smelling baguette bread since diagnosis. It was marvelous. I are an entire basket on my own. It appears they use the same bread but toasted for the bruschetta, which is a full Garlic experience. The pasta was amazing and indistinguishable from gluten pasta. The sauce was rich and flavorful. I asked for the four cheese gnocchi to have a pasta subbed for gnocchi and they recommended penne shape. It was fantastic. The tiramisu is heavenly. It's light and airy, the complete opposite of your average gluten free experience. Nice coffee taste, a delicate set of flavors. Service was very friendly and enthusiastic but a little slow. Came here for dinner and absolutely loved it. Everything is gluten free but many customers come because the food is great. I had the lasagna (some I have not had in over a decade). I was in heaven. We loved enough we came back the next day for brunch. And let me tell you, get the French toast. They were amazing. The service was great. Got to meet the owner and her son - interestingly they are from Georgia (the country) and not from Italy. Cozy, romantic restaurant where you can feel the owners love. First off, everything in this restaurant is gluten free including the free bread they bring out to you to start your dining experience. I started the meal with a Montepulciano wine and was taken aback how wonderfully sweet it was. For my second drink of the evening, I tried their blue fizz gin drink which I also enjoyed and packed more of a punch being it was a liquor drink versus wine. My gf and I shared a mushroom bruschetta which was decent. If I could have a redo I probably would order something else but that is just due to me not loving a hard and toasted bread which yes, I am very aware is the nature of brushetta ; ) I ordered the grilled veal which came garnered with mushrooms and I subbed out the string beans for Brussel sprouts, the meal also came with roasted potatoes. The roasted potatoes were exceptional. Brussel sprouts needed some more seasoning, which was an easy fix, just pour a dabble of salt on them, ez pz. The veal could have used perhaps a dipping sauce or a sauce to enhance the flavor, but it was certainly delicious, I finished it all without fail. The gf went with the spaghetti and chicken parm dish. She stated she enjoyed it but was expecting more leading to the lead up to coming here. Now FYI, this is a monster piece of chicken, so you are getting good value for your buck as you should definitely have a number of leftovers. I was studying the light fixture on our table, and it looked like the owner who came over to me and gave me all the details on the beautiful piece and was very friendly. My husband, son and I went to the city just to try this place out. Being gluten free and in New York we knew we were not going to be disappointed here. We were seated right away. We ordered their fresh bread and calamari to start off with. All of us really enjoyed both I forgot to picture them. I enjoyed a non alcoholic strawberry margarita it was refreshing and sweet. I loved it. I ordered pollo allá milanesa, my husband the pollo allá parmigiana and we specifically ordered a pasta with white sauce mushrooms/shrimp for my son. Food was delightful and portions were big so we definitely ended up taking some home. We ended with tiramisu which was just as good as we had imagined. The reason I took off one star was because the waiter got lost in the mix of people who would come up to check and see if we were done. There were at least three people checking on our table which was very odd in my opinion. They almost took one of our plates when we weren't fully done. Came here on a Friday night, and overall wasn't too impressed by the meal or service. When pouring olive oil onto our plates for the bread, the waiter spilled some onto my friend's pants. For food, we enjoyed the calamari, bruschetta, and arancini. And for mains, we shared fettuccine alla bolognese, lamb chops, and veal chops. Had a great work lunch in Greenwich Village this past Sunday! This is a fantastic spot for gluten-free dining, and my co-worker with celiac was so happy to have a worry-free meal. The staff were friendly, asked for any other allergies (if any), & made us feel comfortable. This establishment is on the smaller side but very lovely. The ambiance gives Italy all the way, felt fancy like, but also authentic. We started with warm bread served with olive oil, which was comforting, though I would've liked a bit more crunch. The fried calamari had a nice texture but could have used a little extra seasoning. These are just my personal opinions, but the real standout? The lasagna. Light, flavorful, and genuinely impressive for a gluten-free dish-it didn't feel like a compromise at all. To top it off, I tried their tiramisu and couldn't believe how light and airy it was! Six of us came here for my birthday dinner. While only one of us is GF, we all really enjoyed our meals. My GF friend was SO happy to be able to eat all the things. Gio (sp?) our server was helpful and quick. This place was very busy and we had to wait a bit before our table was ready- about 30 mins after our scheduled reservation. They were very busy, obviously a need in the world. Quaint place with a solid menu for everyone who enjoys Italian. I can't say I liked the bread, but my spaghetti a la vongole was great. I have no reason to eat gluten free, but I came here because I heard the food was good. I was not disappointed! The Rigatoni Funghi e Speck was delicious. It was the right amount of creamy and mushroomy. Plus the smoked prosciutto really brought it all together. The portion was also huge. I was so full at the end without even finishing it. My wife and I got the fried rice balls to share. They were creamy, cheesy, and had a nice crunch. The bourbon cocktail I ordered was really well balanced and I enjoyed sipping on it throughout dinner. Service was great. Very friendly and attentive staff. The space was nice too. It was a cozy spot that didn't feel cramped. Definitely felt like I was at an Italian restaurant from the decor. Overall, very great food. Senza Gluten is absolutely incredible and I am eager to return here very soon. My fiancé and I came here on New Year's Eve with another couple, one of them has Celiac disease. As a vegetarian, I understand the excitement of finding a place that has an entire menu that you are able to order from without over-analyzing, and Senza Gluten does not disappoint. The space is quintessentially lower Manhattan in its hole-in-the-wall presentation and layout, but where other small spaces may make you feel rushed, we did not at all feel rushed during our evening here. The arancini and the cauliflower appetizer are genuinely outstanding. The cauliflower especially tasted like a variation on chicken parm - I have been thinking about it every day since visiting here. I got the Rigatoni Funghi without the speck, and I had more than half the plate to take home with me to save for later. I would have never guessed that this was gluten free pasta. There is a wide array of cocktail options - 3 of us got the strawberry margarita and 1 of us got Senza Garden, and they do NOT hold back on the strawberry infusion. We found the sauce to be a bit bland- although the waiter said the marinara is their "spicy sauce with chili peppers." We detected no spice, it really just tasted like tomato sauce. But the calamari itself was great. The blueberry pancakes are so fluffy and delicious, delivered with a blueberry compote - almost like a cross between a pancake, soufflé and mochi! Everything is completely gluten free and you wouldn't be able to tell by eating it. Although I eat gluten, I came here with a couple of people who have Celiac and we all really enjoyed the experience. The complimentary bread tasted better than some regular bread I have tried and they give you a nice Italian experience with personal plates of oil with pepper for the bread. My group got food ranging from pasta dishes to breaded meat and seafood and everything was amazing. The four of us were so full after eating as much as we could of the delicious meals so we all split one order of gelato for dessert. I highly recommend dinner here and will likely return with anyone that does not eat gluten. Service was disappointing. In a nearly empty restaurant, staff seemed rushed and on their phone. They were inattentive to basic dining etiquette. Clearing plates while others at the table were still eating and pushing dessert menus before we'd finished our main courses felt pushy and unprofessional (and unwelcome!) I was excited to find a gluten free Italian restaurant on our trip to NYC. Unfortunately, we found this restaurant to not be worth the hype. The gluten free pasta was good, but the dairy free options were limited so I couldn't really get what I wanted (calamari & chicken parm). Instead, I paid an astronomical amount for two dishes that I really didn't want. They have NO kids menu, so my kids split a $45 chicken parm. My husband didn't enjoy his risotto. They only take cash or AMEX but "conveniently" have an ATM downstairs (that they make a $5 fee off each transaction.) I paid $8 for a glass of tea with no free refills. We spent $200 on 3 entrees and couldn't even get a refill on my drink?!? The prices are outrageous for what you get. Sorry, it just wasn't worth all that. $250 for a family of 4 and I didn't even get what I wanted. Prices on Yelp are outdated; it's about triple that now. read more

It's a charming restaurant in a great location. I was excited to visit my first 100% gluten free restaurant, an Italian one at that. My server was nice and helpful with my mobility accommodation needs. I have no complaints regarding service. I ordered a Caesar salad and the chicken parmesan. Of the two, the Caesar was the star. Beautiful presentation, not overpowering with the anchovies, and such a generous portion! It was nice not having to worry about croutons and they did provide me with a complimentary bread basket and olive oil with balsamic glaze too. The bread wasn't bad but not something I'd crave either, it had a sourdough flavor to it which I do enjoy but I was expecting a different kind of bread in my mind when it was offered to me. I expected a rustic lots of holes in the bread type bread and/or a focaccia style. The chicken Parmesan was surprisingly disappointing. It's such a classic and simple dish, but alas, it was a fail. The pasta portion of it was alright, my only complaint there was it wasn't as al dente as I'd like. The chicken portion of it was a big miss, I don't think they tenderized the chicken, it was very tough and dry. I realize that the chicken is covered in breading and tomato sauce and mozzarella but even with those elements, the chicken wasn't salvaged. It was like the Caesar, a very large portion. I pushed myself to eat past my comfort and ended up eating maybe just less than half the Caesar and about a 1/4 of the chicken Parmesan and was completely stuffed. I would like to try this place again, but won't be ordering the chicken parm my next visit. read more

Had a really delicious meal here over the weekend. Love that their entire menu is GF but my family couldn't tell by the taste (win win!!). We shared a sangria pitcher (strong but tasty), bread for the table (not dry at all), calamari (incredibly crispy and fresh) and rice balls (great outside crisp and flavor). I also split a chicken parm with someone since it was such a large portion. I did notice that the sauce needed salt but otherwise I enjoyed it a lot since the chicken was well cooked and had a good coat of cheese on it. We skipped dessert but I would be happy to come back and try it next time. I will say the meal was on the pricy side and they only take Amex and cash so that would probably be the downside of everything. Wish I took pics but I think I was too hungry to remember. read more

We ordered the calamari, bruschetta, bolognese fettuccini, and clams spaghetti. Each dish was absolutely delicious! The clams and bruschetta were hands down my favorite- from the flavors to the freshness I loved it. The fettuccini I will say was tasty but the texture of the pasta was a little off form me. I wanted it to be a little softer. We also order a couple of drinks that didn't disappoint. Overall, I can see how someone that's gluten free would love it here! I'm not sure if the pasta is house made because it did taste pretty boxed but again, the flavors were there so it made a big difference. The reason I won't give this a 4 is because my glass has lip stick stains on it. I would want to give it a 3.5-3.75. The server was nice and switched it but an entire glass of sparking was wasted. Visited this spot our first night in NYC and so glad we did! A friend recommended it to us so we took the 10 minute cab ride from our hotel and enjoyed some authentic homemade Italian and was super safe for my celiac body. The waitress was super helpful helping me identify items without tapioca flour. It was just three of us and we ordered penne with bolognese and fettuccine with meat sauce. Both were fantastic and the perfect amount and no leftovers. The only reason I am leaving 4 stars is because they only take cash or AMEX. Although they do have an ATM I did not want the fees so we just budgeted the cash I had on hand without wiping my wallet clean of taxi money ;-). It would be nice if they could take Visa as well. All this to say, yes go to Senza! The ambiance is super intimate but relaxed and the food is wonderful! We enjoyed a long walk back to our hotel and all the NYC skyline had to offer. Second time here and it didn't disappoint! Ate outside for a birthday dinner and it was delicious. It was a nice environment but the tables are a little small for a party of 4 outside. Got appetizers, entrees, and desserts and everything came out timed appropriately and was prepared fresh. The restaurant was packed and service was still great. Had one person in our party that isn't normally gluten free and he couldn't even tell the difference and thought the food was delicious. Prices are moderate to high but definitely a good value for what you're getting and it's especially nice since its one of the only completely gluten free restaurants. Best GF meal since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease in May 2023! I was so excited to visit NYC so I could go to Senza Gluten - a 100% safe place to eat for Celiacs. I brought my non-GF friends and they also agreed that this was one of the best meals they have had in a long time. Some of the dishes made me question if it was truly gluten free. Service and drinks were great as well. Was so excited to try the tiramisu and it did not disappoint. 10/10 recommend for any Celiac's visiting NYC for some gluten freedom! I will be back. read more
