I liked this place. The food was pretty good, I had pork tacos. The service is pretty good, though there was one thing that set me off. On my third taco, I found a sharp piece of rusty metal. We ordered from them for the first time recently, and when the food arrived it was missing part of the order, even though the receipt showed the full order. I called them and the manager said they had no record of our order, even though I gave them the order number printed on the receipt and our contact info. They said we should just ask for a credit through door dash, even though door dash didn't pack the order, and we just wanted to eat, not get a credit. They said they had no way to contact door dash. The whole thing was ridiculous; they got paid, doordash lost money having to credit us, and we didn't get to eat. We will not be ordering from them again. read more

I have been eating bibimbap since the early 2000s but most Korean restaurants are downtown. This is my new favorite lunch spot. I get the chicken salad with everything except avocado & egg and no dressing. It is so good and light and savory. The other options are a Rice bowl, burrito, or taco with purple or white rice, chicken, beef, pork or tofu. The restaurant itself is very clean, sleek, & contemporary. * * * * * It's only officially been open since Friday, but I've already eaten there three times. Definitely my new go to fast casual spot! The food is delicious and healthy! Unlike several other not-to-be-named fast casual bowl/buritto/taco chains, Seoulspice's food is healthy and packed with flavor. No fatty sodium bombs here! (By the way, have you read how many calories and how much sodium are in a bowl at "said" other fast casual joints? Yikes...) I can actually eat an entire bowl, down an amazing juice, and still focus at work in the afternoon. And, I don't feel like I'm derailing my workout when I stop in after the gym. Gotta make that sweat equity worthwhile! I especially love the Seoultrain over purple rice, with "the" egg, and extra sauce (don't forget to ask for a shake of their secret spicy powder!). Second favorite is making a custom bowl (1/2 pork, 1/2 tofu... trust me on the tofu), with all veg and kicked up "hot" sauce option. So good! Also love the decor, which I read was custom made with reclaimed wood by a local furniture maker. I love that everything from the food to furniture is a reflection of local and sustainable practices. And though it's maybe a bit TMI, the bathrooms are also nice. I hope Seoulspice opens more locations! And how about a pre-order option for the lunch rush? This place is delicious- everything I've tried is really great. Plus, they have a really pretty decor. I have never been on a weekday at lunch. I live nearby, so I come on evenings or weekends. They can be a touch slow on the weekend, but it's worth it at the end because it really is that good. I'd recommend if you get anything with rice, ask for half rice. A solid fast casual place for a quick relatively healthy meal. I prefer the pork or bulgogi (beef), as the chicken is dark meat and can be a bit fatty, and I don't generally eat tofu. Both the tacos and bowls are solid and there are some tasty vegetable additions and excellent sauces. Everything will run you about $10, but you'll be in and out fast with a good tasting and pretty healthy dinner. read more

Think of it as a healthier version of Chipotle (less oily meat, less heavy sauces, etc). The beef bulgogi is great.

I've ordered a couple things from SeoulSpice, but what I will come back for here are the tacos from the "classic combinations" menu-- both the bulgogi beef and chicken options taste great. You can choose your toppings too but the classic combos have a great depth of fusion flavor. The meats and kimchi are standout here, but the other stuff is hit or miss. The taco tortillas are pretty good and the tacos are comparably tasty versus the other Asian fusion taco options in the area (such as far east taco grill and takorean). I did try the korrito (not as much a burrito as a sushi roll) which honestly I did not like. I also had the rice bowl but I'd skip that next time in favor of the salad (or tacos). They also have yuzu juice - a delicious fruity drink that's worth trying/not particularly commonly offered in the area. All in all, worth dropping by. read more

Food was delicious! The bulgogi was tender. Everything was very flavorful. The creamy srirachi sauce and the lime cilantro ranch were fabulous. I had two issues. I ordered from Uber eats and I order a rice bowl with purple rice, but got white rice. Since the food was delivered, I couldn't do anything about correcting it. The only thing better than the food (delicious) is the staff. I work down the street so I end up eating lunch here at least once a week and every single employee I've interacted with has been amazing. Always big smiles, positive attitudes, good conversation, and overall great service. I personally love the purple rice bowl with tofu. The tofu is extremely flavorful because they braise it in a Korean marinade to infuse some deliciousness. Everything was just...underwhelming. While the food had a good texture and was fresh, it really lacked in flavor. Nothing jumped out at us that made us want to rush into the store and order it again. The drink (as someone else pointed out) was like flavored water. It went unfinished. The Kimbap servings were kind of small for the price and they didn't label anything, so it was a crap shoot trying to figure out which was which. I guess we'll order from them again for the simple fact that they're not your standard Chinese carry-out/delivery. read more

I would give this place more stars if I could. I first discovered SeoulSpice through Ubereats and decided to check it out in person because the korrito and bowls were delicious. First, this is meant to be fast-casual Korean/SE Asian fusion, not Annandale in DC. It's not meant to be bibimbap (the toppings are different.) Second, the portions are BIG, you get unlimited toppings, and the protein choices are all delicious. For what you pay in store (just go there, forgo the ridiculous delivery fees third party apps charge) I don't think many other options compare. 3.5 Stars for a tasty bowl of their Bibimbap, but with some room for improvement. I went with the purple rice, chicken, all the veggies, topped off with cliantro, toasted garlic, green onions and their own hot sauce. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned and tasted of a familiar shoyu-based marinade with plenty of sweetness. Among the topings, the best was their own kimchi. For me, it had a nice balance of being not too fermented and the cabbage had a good crunchy texture. Next best was their julienned pickled radishes, which had a more subtle hot red pepper flavor. The remaining veggie topings, however, lacked flavor. My kale slaw was not seasoned at all...it was basically just shredded raw kale as I did not taste any hint of a sesame marinade nor did it appear to have been tossed in any marinade either. Same goes for the corn, which reminded me more of prepackaged corn straight from your local grocer rather than something that had been seasoned. The carrots and cucumbers, on the other hand, appeared to have been tossed in their marinade but I did not get much sesame flavor when tasting them. I will say that although some of their toppings lacked flavor, I am not saying they should have been saltier, as the chicken was plenty salty. Overall, while the bowl was tasty altogether, my impression is that some of the toppings were not executed quite as well as they should have been. I will surely be back again to test that theory! read more
