While the employees are usually lovely, the store is never too busy, and I tend to go to this one because it's most convenient - I was unfortunately made aware today that their 60 day credit back policy was no longer in place and the manager wouldn't make an exception for me as a loyal VIB even though I was only 5 days over the limit. I know an exception could have been made because that's within the manager's capabilities (I used to work retail), so looking me in the face telling me you can't was extremely disappointing. She could have let me leave feeling extremely grateful and now knowledgeable on the updated policy, but unfortunately from experience, I know that only the squeaky wheels get the grease (meaning if I had caused a scene and thrown a fit, then I would've gotten the exception). I'm not sure why these types of customers get rewarded when the compliant ones have to walk away but that's just how it goes. I had additional purchases I would've liked to make but because of how unhelpful the manager was, I decided to just buy online instead. If you'd like to reconsider, I'll happily come back in to make the returns and purchase other items. read more

I stopped by this Sephora numerous times and whenever it's close to closing time the staff always look so dreadful if anyone walks in. If I asked for help they all looked like they didn't want to help instead were forced to. I asked my bf to go get a gift card for me for a friend today and the staff treated him so rude and was saying that stuff won't be given out unless ppl out 50 or more on the gift card. And they didn't even have the holiday ones in stock. They're always low on stock on stuff and always look like they don't wanna be there. No one put yall there. Jesus Christ. Have some good heart. I don't usually go to Sephora often, and when I do, it's mainly to try products and find the right shade for my skin. Honestly, most Sephora locations--especially the ones in malls--make me feel really intimidated or ignored, like I don't belong there because I'm not a typical beauty person with perfect skin. Sometimes I even feel like I'm being treated suspiciously, which makes the experience even harder since I already struggle with social anxiety. That's why I want to shout out this specific Sephora (in the shopping center) -- I built up the courage to stop by while running errands, and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and helped right away. The person who helped me (I believe it was Stephanie or Tiffany -- with a Y) was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout the entire visit. They took the time to color match me, made sure the shades looked right on my skin, and even recommended some great alternatives from other brands I would've never tried on my own. I left feeling confident and cared for -- something I've never experienced at other Sephora locations. I'll definitely be coming back to this one for any future skincare or makeup needs. This place... I only come when I have to. It absolutely reeks of perfume. I still smell like it, and I left 10 minutes ago. They really need better air circulation. I also came in looking for something really specific (needed a 12 inch section of one display), and got shunted out of the way by a sales associate and some lady she was helping. They just swooped in, booted me out of the way, and stood there blocking me, even though I was there first, and then acted like I wasn't even there. It was incredibly rude. I like coming here because they are never busy compared to the valley fair location and the other one in Santa Clara. I was here last week after hearing about their 30% off sale on Sephora products. Karolina assisted me during my visit...she was knowledgeable, friendly, and super helpful! It was a good experience so i went to buy more makeup a couple days later. Sephora wasn't as packed as I expected it to be with Christmas being around the corner and all . Pleasant surprise! I lucked out on the curbside pickup option however . (￣￣) By the time I arrived to the parking lot and secured a spot it was 7:10pm . 10 minutes after the curbside deadline . Not an issue to step in and show my barcode , I went to the front desk or check out register and told them I had a pick up order . The friendly Sephora ambassador helped escort me back towards the front entrance where they have a secure locker . My items were then tallied up by number of items ordered and handed to me . Quick and easy ! Although once I walked in and out the pretty aromatic scents of perfume got to be too much for me . I had a really frustrating experience at Sephora recently. I came in to exchange a hair mist I had used twice--within the 30-day return policy--and was met with a ton of unnecessary attitude from the woman at the register. She told me it was "more than gently used". Two uses doesn't magically make a product unusable for return, especially when your policy allows it. It was also funny considering that prior to me going up the register, a different staff told me to get this new product and said "if you don't like the product, you can just return it anyways" Funny right? Back to the lady at register, when she wasn't able (or willing) to help me, I politely asked if she could throw the bottle away since it wasn't any use to me. Maybe thinking they could donate it or put some use to it, speaking it was a BRAND NEW BOTTLE. There was a trash can right behind her, but instead she told me to toss it outside. Seriously? I don't understand the point of having a return policy if I'm going to be judged and treated like a nuisance for using it. Sephora, I expected better. There were so many girls working there the day I went but no one came to help me at the counter. I'm pretty lucky to have about 9 Sephora stores close by to me (driving distance of course) but I prefer going to this location because it's a standalone store that's not connected to a mall or inside a mall. Parking is so easy, I can literally park in front (which I did just recently) and can get in and out quick. Inside store is nice and clean. During my recent visit, I knew what I wanted to get but also had a little bit of time to browse. I checked online first if they had the Kiehl's Facial Moisturizer in-stocked to make sure my trip is not wasted - they did. My intent was to only get that moisturizer and a few sheet masks (I love how the Sephora brand is only a 5 minute mask!) but passed through a Saie display and thought to get a tinted moisturizer. I'm so bad at figuring out my shade and Anthony was able to help me! They used a shade finder device that's connected to a mobile device - so cool! And with that, it shows a lot of brands and shades that complementary to my skin tone. It also saved that info to my Sephora account. Unfortunately, the Saie tinted moisturizer was not on the list but they still helped me and figured out what shade I was. They also did a comparable brand just to see but ultimately the Saie one was a winner! Anthony took their time to help me and was not pushy or bothered. I love how you can also order online and pick up in store here. Additionally, they have the birthday gift option I wanted as well. Came in to restock up on makeup and get matched for a new foundation. My skin has been changing at 40+ and my tried-and-true brand was no longer working for my skin. I usually dread getting matched for a foundation because the associates are so bothered typically when I ask, but I was pleasantly surprised during this visit. Tiffany helped me out and made the whole process fun and easy. She provided great conversation and insights while we explored options. I went with a Haus Labs foundation and even picked up a new concealer and powder. I also got some other things too like an eyebrow pencil, blush and lip tint. I had a mailer coupon which helped bring the cost down. Thank you Sephora Insider! Overall great experience. The store was beautiful and clean despite undergoing construction. Not too busy too. Is it just me or are Sephoras popping up everywhere like Starbucks? I ain't mad at ya because they are becoming so easy to access whereas before, it required a trip to the mall. I love going to the Westgate shopping center because it has so many great spots in 1 place and this just became the cherry on top! I was doing some Memorial Day shopping here and needed a new moisturizer I had seen in several magazines. Because it was conveniently located, I just walked in and asked a staff at the cashier counter and asked if they carried it. She walked me over to where it was and offered to give me a sample. I decided to just buy it and when I went to pay, Beth told me how many insider points I had and that I was eligible for my birthday gift. I chose the 2021 NARS kit because I love their Laguna bronzer. The moisturizer I bought was the $34 Saei SPF 35 broad spectrum moisturizer which a magazine raved about how it smoothes everything without clogging, being shiny, or conflicting with make up. I went here trying to rediscover the area. I moved to San Jose a few months ago but stuck at the blossom hill area. I did not like the Sephora in Oakridge mall, so I thought why not. I needed a new foundation with my current shade. I walked in and wasn't immediately greeted by any of the Sephora employees, only the security guard greeted me. All the employees seem to be helping all the other customers. Luckily the brand I was going for was in front of the store. I tried to color match and found my shade on my own. The testers were clean and the store smelled good and fresh. All the employees seem happy and excited to be working there. I have 20 years in customer service as a manager and loved coming in to a retail store where you know the management loves their employees. I had to find my setting spray next. This was the shopping day of restocking my beauty needs. Found the brand and they had nothing. By this time i had been greeted by other employees not helping other people. However, I needed to double check if they had any of the setting spray in the back or just received a shipment. I spoke with a young gentleman, super kind and knowledgeable and part of the management team there. He checked to see and told me they didn't have any. We had a brief chat. Immediately, I knew I had to drive 20 mins away to this Sephora, going forward. I knew this team had it together and I enjoyed the interactions and vibe of the whole store. Sephora tip: find out when they get replenishments in. Tiktok and other social media is causing shortages on our favorite brands. Don't get mad at empty shelves. I'm giving 2 stars because the first time I visited Sephora was last summer. I had a really helpful friendly sales associate help me. However today was a different experience. I knew what I wanted and found it quickly. When I went to check out, the cashier was not friendly at all. No hello, no thank you, asked a question and she didn't answer it. Just a cold, hateful glare. Look, when you're in customer service, if you are having a bad day, you need to suck it up and not take it out on customers. With Target, TJMaxx and Sephora all in the same shopping center, I might as well just turn in every paycheck here! Everything is squeaky clean and shiny. You get the welcoming vibe Sephora is known for (but not all locations deliver the same level) and you have all of your beauty needs housed in one beautiful store. I'm in love because I never in a million years would think they would move in during a pandemic but Sephora is known for changing up the game and not staying boring! This review is not for the facility - the facility itself is not stocked with makeup removers, wipes, no sponges etc on Saturday evening. But this 5 star review is for one of their employees Alex. I had been to another Sephora earlier today and none of the employees as much as acknowledged me. Alex not only greeted me and helped me find products, but he also recommended some amazing products and spent time with me explaining in what order I need to apply it since Im a beginner. He also did not make me feel pressurized to buy anything which made the entire experience pleasant and feel good. I plan to buy all the products he recommended and will be back to the same Sephora to purchase it. It's a big treat to get to go to one of my favorite stores Sephora. As a single mom I don't get to go there often. I went there to the west gate Saratoga location for the first time a wk ago. I wanted a perfume that smells like the beach. First off, no one offered to help me. I passed a few employees and not one asked me if I needed help. Sad! Maybe I didn't look nice enough to shop there is how I felt. I asked one lady about perfume and she pointed her finger where to go. Not can I help u. Only bc I told my friend I can't believe no one can help me. A guy came over. Still not very friendly. Their selection was not great as I was told their a small store. Ok. I had to settle. I went to this Sephora to look for the Danessa Myricks line and found some products at this location. The staff was super friendly and nice compared to other Sephoras that I've been to. They let me browse the store without helicoptering me and my family which was much appreciated. They were helpful in helping me find what I was looking for and gave me plenty of space. Once I found my items I asked if they could walk me through using Klarna and they helped me through the process. When I got to my car I realized I did something wrong on my end with my transaction and had to go back in. The staff was super patient with me and helped me figure it all out. I don't think the people there want to work. I've been a rouge For about 10 years and I've never had a bad experience like that I will never go back to that store. 1. I made an order online for pick up. The store was not even busy there was one person behind me in line and one person they were helping. There were more employees than customers. I was being helped but they wanted to help the lady behind me first because apparently if you're picking up you're not as important as someone buying in store, let me just say I was moved three times. 2. Another issue was that one of my items was canceled that same day so when I went into the store guess what! ... there it was they said they had just gotten shipment which could be true but based on their work ethic they probably just didn't go grab it , God for bid they work at work. I had just left the Los Gatos Sephora which by the way five stars all the way from the moment you walk in you feel welcomed and love and excitement for makeup they let me know that I can add to my order because I had ordered the day before. Anyway back to westgate I asked to please add my item and they said they would but I would have to pay full price for it I explained that it was canceled even though it was there... they said no I would have to pay full price for it. So I asked him if they could call the Los Gatos store because they had let me know that I could add and they said they would not because they should all have the same policy. Mind you they're not friendly so I was annoyed I went outside and pretty much did their job and called the other Sephora ( Los Gatos ) where they were very nice very apologetic and let me know that they are more than welcome to call them. Service is mid, and this store is always out of fragrance, especially travel spray. The stock issue is out of the staff's control but their service isn't. I've had the same cashier twice now, and both times she's been friendly and commented on my SC products, saying the Sephora brand products are "slept on", which I totally agree. Today I felt more chatty so I started to mention that I grew a love for SC because I worked at Sephora for 2.5 years, but she cut me off twice, clearly not interested; so her friendliness felt fake. When I paid, she also said "Oh just one second, let me make sure is goes through"... why would say that? You're insinuating that your client's card might decline.
