Service was fantastic and the menu is extensive. The food was good, not quite amazing as the bill was $400 including a bottle of wine but again the location is great. I went with my standby chicken Parm, which is good but a little crispy for my liking. Bottom line would I go back, yes. I would try something else. We went on a Friday night and it was busy so we just got drinks at the bar with a polpette app and a pizza to go. The polpette (meatballs) are so soft and saucy - a must try. We also got the fig and proscuritto pizza which is the perfect salty sweet combo if you like that and perfectly fresh with some peppery/bitter arugula to finish. They make their pizzas really well - they are fresh, the dough is crispy yet soft and chewy. They put a lot of toppings on without overwhelming the ratio and making the slices impossible to eat. My friend and I both thought the portions of the pasta were just right. We didn't leave feeling grossly stuffed, but also didn't leave hungry. It was perfect. Came for dinner and the place was busy. Instead of waiting 20 minutes for a table, we opted to sit at the bar. The bar area was a bit dark without overhead lighting, but luckily we were offered a table before we even ordered. I ordered the gnocchi and added grilled chicken. The dish came out great. The grilled chicken was cut into small pieces and mixed in with the gnocchi and sauce. The tomatoes were nicely grilled and soft, and the sauce was creamy. The gnocchi was as smooth as can be, almost dissolving with just a little pressure from the tongue. Very satisfying in both flavor and portion. Additionally, pairing it with the arugula salad is a great choice to create a balanced plate and to add some variety. If we're nitpicking here (and I feel like you have to with the plethora of great italian food in Boston), I'd say the pasta lacked that traditional vodka tang and the salad was a little over dressed. Plus, the meal was definitely pricey, but that's honestly expected on Newbury Street , and for the quality, portion size, and experience I'd say it's worth it! Very disappointed in our dinner experience. The service was slow and lacking any attention to detail. The ambiance could so nice - again the staff seem not to care about it. We asked for bread and it was cold. The rose wine bottle was not out in a chiller. Never once were our glasses refilled by the staff. Three other tables who ordered after us were served before us. When we asked for crack pepper for our past we got normal pepper. Unfortunately, we'd recommend staying away from this place. Menu: They have a pretty extensive menu, covering all the standard pastas and pizza dishes you might expect from an Italian restaurant. Everything looks and smells delicious, and based on what I observed, everyone seems to enjoy the meals. I had the salmon plate recently and it did not disappoint. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the blend of flavors was top notch. They do have quite a few dishes that can accommodate different allergies and dietary restrictions. The menu has a handful of dishes that are dairy-free or vegan (or can be adapted to be vegan) and there is an option to sub gluten-free pasta for the pasta dishes. Experience: The ambiance inside is super chill! I love that you get to experience a calming, pleasant atmosphere, even when every table is filled. It doesn't feel like you have to start yelling across the table, and you still get a sense of privacy between the tables. If you are hoping to come in for a dinner at a certain time, I recommend making a reservation in advance. I did this and was seated promptly, and greeted by a kind server immediately. The restaurant is busy so for a bigger group, would definitely recommend planning ahead to avoid a long wait. Once seated, they provide complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which is a nice way to start the meal. Cute spot on Newberry Street. Came here with a group of girls to do a gift exchange. I'd say the ambience outshined the cocktails and most of the food here. I ordered the tiki old-fashioned to start off with, very sweet not what I was looking for in an old-fashioned. I think most of us switched to wine after our first cocktail. If that wasn't what we started with. I got the Bolognese at the recommendation of the waiter and I think I definitely had the best dish at the table. My friend sitting next to me got the spaghetti squash and paid extra for the meatballs which she said were a little underwhelming. All I can say is WOW! After a long trek through Newbury St, we finally decided to stop at Serafina's for an Italian dinner. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The pasta dish I tried here was better than any I've had in the North End, which says a lot. The service was great, and we enjoyed some bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar to start off with. Highly highly highly recommend the Farafelle Al Limoncello. The lemon sauce pairs fantastically with the pasta cooked perfectly, and the shrimp was so fresh and flavorful. The cherry tomatoes were done right and added a great burst of flavor to the dish as well. The Serafina burger was also very good, with a unique paste of bacon jam smeared on it. It leans more towards the sweeter side, but compliments the savory flavors from the burger very well. The fries were also incredible, but I should've gotten them truffle style! What a beautiful weekend it was and perfect weather to sit outside on Newbury Street enjoying a great meal! That's exactly what we did after walking around the Boston Common and gardens and walked along Newbury Street to find a place for dinner. Had passed by this place many times in the past but finally got a chance to try it out and it was great! I ordered the sautéed branzino which came with a really nice tangy sauce and cherry tomatoes. The two fillets was quite a big portion although I would have liked if it also came with a small side of rice or potatoes. There was complimentary bread so that was nice. The hubs got the orichiette pasta dish with sausage and that was quite delicious as well. Service was friendly and efficient. It was really nice enjoying the outside and a great meal. As we finished it started raining just a bit - good thing we were done and just went inside downstairs to the restaurant to pay the bill and waited there for our Uber. Food -- Taglioini alla portofino: I got this because there was a previous yelp review that raved about it. They were right. It was delicious and unique. I usually get the basic when it comes to pasta but decided to step out of my comfort zone and so glad I did. The overall pasta texture was good (some parts were stuck together though but it's okay). I am a big fan of the pesto sauce and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. The pine nuts also added some texture and hint of flavor too. Chicken Alfredo: First off the chicken was tender and juicey. The sauce was a tad salty in my opinion though. Overall it met expectations but didn't exceed it. Truffle Arancini: I loveeee arancinis and it was cooked just right (crispy on the outside and soft rice filling with cheese). The hint of truffle was also nice. The inside of the restaurant was clean and nicely decorated with an Italian vibe, except for the giant TV screen playing a soccer game, which sort of seemed out of place. We decided to share a salad, Margherita pizza, and gnocchi (with steak tips added) to try a little bit of everything. Everything came out solid, and tasted good. The added steak was particularly well seasoned and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was also very fast and attentive.
