What a great addition to the neighborhood. I'd been battling the sniffles and sneezes for a few days but ventured out to get ramen, in the hopes that it might make me feel better. This place had good reviews so we decided to try it. We were greeted immediately and given our choice of seating. We visited on a weeknight and there were 3 other groups of diners present when we arrived. The dining area is small and cozy, but we didn't feel cramped at the corner table we chose. The hostess was friendly and gave us a thorough (but not excessive) review of the menu. Though I am not much of a tea drinker, I decided to try some berry tea and on a winter night, on the mend from a mild cold, I was so glad I did. We had a lot of trouble deciding what to order, as everything sounded great, but we settled on vegetarian ramen and flavorsome ramen, and hot saki. The food arrived promptly and we were really impressed with the presentation and the taste. Both dishes had really good flavor and spice. We will absolutely be back. read more

I'm a fan! A fun, cozy little spot to go to, tucked away in an alley. Bao with pork belly and gochujiang was delicious, except the basil in there threw me off a bit. Set the tone for the rest of the meal, i.e., don't come expecting 100% traditional items. E.g., the spicy miso ramen has dashi in it, which adds a bit more complexity to the flavor. I wouldn't call myself a ramen expert--maybe they do sneak some dashi into the broth at other places too--but it definitely had a more unique flavor. The ramen came with a quail egg instead of the standard soft-boiled chicken egg, and I would've liked to get bamboo shoots that were (more?) marinated/pickled, but I'm just being picky at this point. Definitely appreciate that "spicy" (described as medium to medium-hot) had a bit of legitimate heat to it! The sesame pork belly ramen was also quite good, on the heavier side with the sesame oil flavor. Nice and creamy and rich overall, without being overly salty. I was really disappointed. It's a ramen place in Highlands, my expectations were fairly high. To start with, the two most important parts of any ramen dish are the noodles and the broth. I ordered the spicy and the broth had a very strange taste to it. I was tasting it for hours after. The noodles are not what I'm used to. They had a strang, almost thicker texture than most ramen I've ever had. The meat itself was very fatty and disappointing. Really, there was nothing I liked about the dish. We were sad to see our neighborhood restaurant Bang! close, but in its place opened Sera's. We walked up to the restaurant for lunch today, and we loved every single dish. We started with strawberry limeades (so fresh) and the duck sliders (served on large steamed buns). Our 11 year old son raved about the sliders, and for great reason - the sauce on the side was perfect - spicy but a little sweet, and much more interesting that a typical Sriracha sauce. My wife had the chilled ramen with beef. I had the Red Seoul Ramen (with poached quail egg). My son had the "kids ramen bowl" with chicken. The ramen broths were top notch. They don't use pork, but use chicken, beef, and oxtail broths, so it's not traditional in that sense. However, the broths are very flavorful and perfectly executed. I've eaten quite a bit of ramen, including at top rated places in Portland and Vancouver. Sera's does a very good job and has some interesting riffs on classic ramen dishes. I absolutely love that this spot's entrance is in the back off of a narrow little "alley" way in between buildings. The charm definitely starts there and does not let up once you're inside the establishment. Step inside and you are in a small entry way where you are asked to "please wait to be seated". Behind a couple of cloths with cats on them you will be seated in a cozy area with maybe 10 tables (again part of the charm of the place). The staff are friendly and all work very well together. We had 3 different staff members wait on us and all were very pleasant and checked in just the right amount. I had the spare ribs rice bowl and it was delicious. Rib meat served with greens, pickled ginger, seaweed, and a fried egg on a serving of rice which had a generous drizzle of what seemed to be sriracha. My lady had a ramen bowl and the broth was delightful. The tamarind fizz is a refreshing beverage and I like that they give you a full carafe of water to keep hydrated and prevent any chance of becoming parched. The prices are right in line with the quality and amount of food. Again I absolutely loved this place and would not mind one bit another visit in the near future. read more

This place is a hidden gem. You can see the sign from the street but the entrance is in the back through the narrow alleyway. I know it sounds sketchy, but once you make it there, it's a really quaint atmosphere. Sitting outside is relaxing, like hanging in a backyard. The inside, though arguably small, is very cozy and homey. The ramen is phenomenal. My fiance and I came here three nights in a row to try out different ramen and they were all great. The flavoring is just spot on and the portions were perfect. Our server was very nice and engaging. He made us feel very welcomed. Good ramen for Denver!! Cute outdoor seating. Tonkotsu Pork Belly ramen has a bolder flavor profile than flavorsome ramen.

Sadly, I haven't tried the ramen here yet, but I absolutely love the tofu bao buns. They're definitely a must try!

First time here was earlier today for lunch. I have to say this is the first ramen joint I've been to in Colorado and it did not disappoint. I ordered the flavorsome bowl which I think deserves a more awesome name than that. The broth was definitely flavorsome and the meat was amaaaazing! Overall everything here tasted great and the service was great as well since we were the only ones there. Small, cute little place with awesome food! Also forgot to mention it's the first ramen place I've been to that also has beer and sake so extra plus for that :) read more

The handmade non-alcoholic drinks are unique and incredibly refreshing, especially when enjoyed on their covered patio on this warm summer day. This place definitely has potential. We had been excited about Sera's after reading about her story in Denver Eater and went to try it on Monday. We were seated quickly which was awesome and the waiter was attentive. The menu felt like it was still in the testing phase, unprotected sheet of paper that might have been printed at my house and still had some formatting quirks. There were no descriptions of any drinks, which were enticing by name, but not helpful otherwise. Here, our waiter gave good descriptions and recommendations. We ordered our food after reviewing the few selections, in the mood for ramen of course. My fiancé picked the spicy dashi miso ramen which was apparently the recommended fav, but he was disappointed with it. The noodle to broth ratio was way off--so many noodles and so little broth made it hard to enjoy soup and not a noodle dish. I found the broth to be rather smokey and didn't really care for it. The quail egg that comes with is cute, but the soft boiled egg that is typical with ramen was what we really wanted. I picked the flavorsome soup, which is made with oxtail broth and had pulled oxtail and I enjoyed it. The fatty richness of the broth was good and the oxtail meat fell apart nicely. One small issue was that their soup spoons, while pretty, were not so functional. I was most impressed with the drinks. I got the calamansi fizz which was basically a sweet carbonated citrus drink was tasty. My fiancé got the ikezo berry glacier and it was pretty cool--gelatin in texture but drank like a liquid. So three stars for food that wasn't bad but wasn't quite amazing, for an ambience that has yet to develop a personality and service that was expected. Hopefully as they get their sea legs, things will only get better. We're excited to try again! read more

Had the duck sliders and they were perfect! Great flavor and nice portion size. Also had the Oxtail and it was great! Oxtail is a fatty bit of meat so don't order it if you don't like a little grease in your ramen broth. The server was very friendly and gave gods recommendations. A 10 minute wait ends up being a cruel punishment for a young couple looking to enjoy some ramen on a Friday night. Coming up next, we'll tell you all about their horrifying experience at Sera's Ramen Enclave. 7:50 - arrive and are told there is about a 10 minute wait for a table for 2. 7:55 - the hostess then asks for our name and we get put on the list - wait is now 15 minutes. Delay is caused because the hostess was also the server and probably the cook too. 8:30 - table time baby. 8:34 - water time baby. 8:36 - order time baby. And you better order now because of the whole hostess/server/potentially cook situation. Ordered: iced matcha - hot jasmine green tea - tofu spring roll - 2 flavoursomes. 8:44 - drink time baby. Tea pot not hot and very sticky. 8:55 - apologetic complimentary chips. Flavor rating: 9.8/10 9:00 - tofu spring roll time. 25 minutes for something that didn't need to be cooked. Flavor rating: 8.6/10 9:25 - ramen time. Mushrooms tasted rubbery. Noodles were average. Broth above average. Meat was fatty. Flavor rating: 5.2/10 9:40 - finish eating and start looking around for hostess/server/potentially cook to get the check time. 9:50 - flag down busgirl and get our check time. 9:55 - go home time. Overall rating Service: 3.7/10 Food: 5.9/10 Overall: 4.8/10 TL:DR - if we wanted to spend two hours getting ramen, we would have just went to Uncle. If we wanted to eat mediocre ramen, we would have made some ourselves. read more

That was unbelievable. Like I'm not really even sure anyone will believe this story of our first and last visit to the Strange Cave of Ramen. So I'll put it into play form! The following transcript is verbatim, as best I remember it, but I feel like I'm taking crazy pills and must've blacked out something. But my partner assured me I've got it all correct. Us: Is that crab in and around the Lettuce Spring Rolls? It doesn't list crab anywhere on the menu. Server: It's mostly imitation crab, well, there's some crab in it... Yes, it is. Us: Ok, that's a little weird to not mention the shellfish in a menu item, but no problem, can you just remake it without crab meat? Server: (after checking in the back) Well, the chef said he wasn't excited about making another Lettuce Spring Roll. He's just not, how do I put this-- Us: --professional? Server: He's never worked in a kitchen before. Us: Interesting. Did you say the owner was here tonight? Server: Ummmm... sort of. Us: (pause) Can we just talk to her quickly? Server: I'm not sure. I don't think she wants to talk to anyone. Let me see. [Server returns with Owner.] Owner: Can I help you? Us: Just wondering why the chef isn't willing to remake the dish the way it's listed on the menu, without crab. It seemed incorrect, so we wanted to check. Owner: No, that's right, he didn't want it to change the taste. And there's no room on the menu to list every item in the dishes. Us: Crab is four letters. Server: We'll make sure to ask people when they're ordering if they have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Us: That's fine, but it was neither for us, so wouldn't it just be easier to list it on the menu? Server: This is a family-owned restaurant-- Us: --Huh?-- Owner: We're just trying to make it right. Us: How? You haven't said anything that even attempts to make it right! [Leaving, seeing a couple waiting at the front.] Us: (to the couple) You definitely don't want to eat here. The food was amazing - my bf has the Spicy Dashi ramen which had lots of flavor and a really good kick to it. I ordered the yellow curry ramen which was also full of flavor. I usually am always wanting to try new dishes but I would order both of these again. The restaurant is cute and the small side, so you may have to wait. Sooooo........ it's the first rainy fall night of 2017, the broncos just lost and everyone wants ramen. Sakana and Uncle are closed so we decided to try a new spot. Called in an order at 6:30. Was told to pick up at 7:00. It's now 7:45 and I think they lost my order. It's hard to predict how busy you'll be on a Sunday, but this is kinda lame. I get it, sometimes you get slammed as a new biz, but at least offer me a beer or something as I wait in your 4'x8' host area next to the bathroom with 3 other disgruntled groups. All the employees are super cool and the food is great. But they seriously need to work on their time estimates and take out scene. Not gonna mess up your 4 star rating, hope you guys pull it together quick cuz y'all make some tasty noodles read more

I have yet to dine in at Sera's but I have gotten takeout three times and it's been consistently amazing. The dashi miso ramen broth has a delicious authentic taste, the chicken is so flavorful, and the noodles have a fresh bite. The curry ramen was everything I hoped it would be as well- spicy, fragrant, addicting. The veggie ramen is good, but probably the least complex of them all and could use more veggies. I am SO pleased to see this restaurant in the hood and can't wait to dine in with them and try more things. One thing I'd love to see in the future- an authentic pho broth to add to their short list of amazingness...I just got back from Vietnam and would love a really good pho option closer to home than federal. read more

It's hard to find a good bowl of ramen here in Denver but I think this might be it. There are a handful of ramen options on the menu, some are tradition and others with a spin on the classics. I think you can tell a lot about a ramen shop by getting a tonkatsu ramen because of the labor and time it goes in to produce a flavorful bone broth. So that's what I ordered. First, the presentation was beautiful. As they say, you eat with your eyes first. The ramen was chewy, just the way I like it. The broth was very creamy and packed full of flavor. My bowl of ramen also came with 3 large pieces of char siu pork, some veggies (bean sprouts and bamboo shoots) and a perfect soft boiled egg. My one critique would be that the pork was not as tender as I wished. It was a bit difficult to take bites. My favorite component was definitely that perfectly poached with a runny yolk. The atmosphere was great! The restaurant so it felt very warm and welcoming. There are seating both inside and outside. We sat outside enjoying the Colorado sun with our meal. I would definitely come here again and try one of the more modern takes on ramen. It's not the best ramen I've had in my life but it's definitely one of the best that Denver has to offer. read more
