Best Mexican I've ever had!! The chips and salsa were so delicious and we ordered the quesadillas and enchiladas- the braised short rib quesadilla was the best quesadilla I have ever had in my life. Big Mexican fans and we were seriously so impressed with how amazing this food was. Ambiance and service was amazing as well. We also got to talk to Sergio and he shared his experience of losing his home in the Lahaina fires and how they used the restaurant before it had opened as a shelter for those who has also lost their homes due to the fire. A couple of things sets this place apart beyond the excellent food and service. As a vegan, they offer vegetables as a "protein." The combination of squashes and other vegetables makes for a hearty meal. Also, just so you know the portions are quite large and splittable if you are watching your weight or budget. We had a wonderful meal at Sergio's Cantina. We were seated quickly and service was great! Good portions on servings. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, great flavor with plenty of shrimp, fish lettuce wraps, had no chance with my teenager, he indulged! Good Karma prevails here. The chef owner was employed by a Mexican restaurant that was lost during the Lahaina fire. He bounced back, opened his own restaurant. Having been raised in the Southwest, we really know what a good Mexican restaurant is (a family place not a huge chain type), and this is a great one. Not only is the food delicious, but the portions are generous, and the staff are friendly and eager to please. We have visited many times and ate different items each time. Not one was below perfect. But always started with their take on fresh guac! You really need to have this, even if you just have it with your cocktail at their full bar. We got take out here. The servers, bartenders, and bussers were all so kind and soooooo busy but even so i was greeted promptly and grabbed my food quickly. Shortly after she took our order and my wife ordered a Spicy Smoky Mango drink with Huevos Rancheros and I had a Sergio's Refresher to drink with their famous Chile Relleno. WOW, everything was so good!! Taylor was great and very prompt in helping us and checking if anything more was needed. Also, if you like real spicy, ask for the mango habanero salsa! Sergio was recommended by our server Colleen at the chocolate factory. She had mentioned that the chef from Frida's had moved over and opened up Sergio's by the Times Market. So we decided to try it and it was excellent. The drinks were terrific and the food was great as well. Abby, our server was awesome! My wife had the flautas and I had the short rib enchiladas and both were fantastic. Sergio's is a great place to go and it's close to all the big resorts. We visited Sergio's on a vacation from Southern California. I've had some of the best, highest rated Mexican food in California. Sergio's may be better than anything we've had. The chicken quesadilla and salsa are incredible, especially together. If you're trying to decide what to order you will not regret the chips, salsa, and chicken quesadilla. We also tried a carnitas taco on taco Tuesday and flautas. Both were amazing! And the margaritas were delicious too. This was definitely our favorite restaurant of the week! read more
