"Mui delisioso and a buen tiempo!" I hope I didn't butcher that! I placed an over the phone order with Sergios this weekend on Sunday for delivery, and man did that not go as planned.. When I called in to place our order I heard a lot of commotion in the background. Which led me to think that the place was swapped, on a Sunday afternoon! Crazy! I was hesitant to continue with the delivery option in fear of waiting too long and our meal arriving cold so I opted for pick up instead, as we don't live too far away. Upon my arrival I noticed a lot of parked cars and made my way towards the pick up window. I had to wait a minute to be attended (and I know I arrived early) and as I looked in their window, I thought, there's no way my order would be ready anytime soon. Once I walked up to the register I was told that my order was being worked on and I was offered to have an esspero or a "cafe cubano" while I waited, so I purchased it. Man that is some strong and delicious stuff in that little cup!! I still feel it today! As I stepped to the side I just looked around at how they handled their customers and how the back was operating and WOW, these guys have their game down packed. Fluidity, and control is what I saw. I've seen places that just can't handle the pressure but these guys and gals definitely are a different breed! I peaked inside the actual restaurant for a second and saw how packed they where. Just a very happy and positive environment, with food on every table, must have been the cuban esspresso going around!! I noticed a gentleman, looked to be their GM walking around as well, almost as if this was all par for the course, expecting nothing less. It's always nice to see management doing their rounds. Look, I'm a big customer satisfaction kind of guy, so I pick up on this stuff, and I've got to say Sergios has their crew down packed, exquisite environment, great customer care, and lot's of traffic, they're doing something right! Even though our food was ready momentarily and was extremely hot upon departure, (which when I got home and checked, it was exactly what we ordered, as I forgot to check before leaving, and tasted AMAZING!!) my only regret was not grabbing my family back at home and going back to Sergios to go inside and join the experience. Hubby and I took our daughter out to Sergios Restaurant down south this weekend, as we are from Broward and were visiting family in the area.. I'm not big on reviews, but felt like making an exception for this experience, and will definitely recommend this specific location to my family in the area and even friends locally from up north. wow. Just wow. Besides the restaurant looking exceptionally clean during such a busy time, and Covid regulations being respected, we were very pleased with the attention and care from their staff. One member in particular, which seemed to be the manager at first, but we weren't totally certain, Mauricio was going around from table to table with a lot of energy (I'd like to add) and was a very charismatic man, you could see how he left his mark with each table. Communicating with staff, his demeanor exuded a lot of control with his team and overall fluidity. He approached our table and conversed with my husband, where we then proceeded to buy a bottle of wine, suggested by Mauricio(didn't plan on it, but when in Rome) and he did not disappoint! Full service and all, it was quite an experience! Full service! food was delicious, wine was great, service impecable. I wish there were more stars to give this store and specifically this man Mauricio a 10 star rating! Credit must be given where credit is due. Upon our departure I asked our server for Mauricio's full name where she told us that actually he was the GM! Wow. Not many GMs are as active and efficient as this gentleman that's for sure. This restaurant needs a bit of work. It was quite busy when we were there and there were servers running around everywhere. So initially, I thought we were in for a treat because of how popular the restaurant seemed to be. After being seated, the waitress, who was very friendly, came over and asked for our order. I ordered the churassco with fries, beans, and rice. It took a bit of time for the food to come out, which wasn't a huge deal since I did order steak. However, when the order came out, they brought me breaded chicken instead. I of course corrected the waitress and she was very nice about the whole thing. But I had to then wait a bit longer until the churassco came. It definitely came out quicker than the original order did, but the wait was annoying nonetheless, and... it was so small and skinny! I ordered the 12oz, but it definitely did not look like 12oz. However, I have to admit, even though it was small, the steak was delicious. The fries were just okay and the beans and rice were good. The kicker was the bathroom. It was pretty dirty and gross in there. Wanted to do my business and get out as quick as I could. I definitely felt I over paid for my experience. My husband and I have been loyal customers at this particular establishment for years, before this new remodel and have always been very pleased with our visits and meals. Before their remodel we never had to wait in line, but now we have a short wait upon arrival. I usually place my order 30 minutes prior by calling and wait there in person anywhere from 10-15 minutes, which we think is reasonable. Their functionality is evident as the line continuously flows as one orders and pays at window 1 and then picks up that order at window 2. Thankfully I always call ahead. Even though I waited, our meals were all fresh and hot! Obviously quiet tasty! Considering that they're always slammed you would think people would be a little more understanding when having to wait just a few minutes, but unfortunately I've seen some of the nicest, hardworking employees being mistreated by some ridiculous people. Where are your heads everyone!! I really can appreciate the hard work, control, professionalism and quality that this specific Sergios location puts forward. I recently visited this Sergio's location with a colleague for breakfast. I was thoroughly pleased with my meal, and experience. I have never bothered to create a yelp account, but I felt compelled to do so after my satisfactory experience at Sergio's. In most restaurants, the fruit is rarely fresh; Sergio's, however, provided unblemished seasonal fruit. I enjoyed my meal so much, my visit was prolonged into brunch hours, at which point my colleague and I decided to indulge in delicious guava mimosas. We received our orders quite hastily, especially considering the near capacity crowd in the restaurant. I couldn't help but notice the vigor and efficiency with which the manager handled the rush hour crowd. I noticed that he was very tedious in inspecting each plate as it was sent out from the kitchen, which I found commendable, as it reflected on how earnestly he approached his job. Great service. I must say, one of the most professional establishments in the restaurant industry that I've been to down here in Miami in a while. I've had many friends recommend this fine place to me when I'm down here traveling for work and I've deceived to finally check it out. I went ahead and called in for a pick up. The operator told me that my meal would be ready in 25 minutes so I deceided to drive over after I hung up, not realizing how close I actually was to them. 15 minutes after my order was placed I arrived and saw a full house. Worried that my order would be pushed back I asked the clerk at the window for my order and it was already ready. I think I need to give my friends a little more credit because this was an incredible recommendation. Considering how busy they were, my call was answered very hospitably, the staff upon my arrival were very friendly, my order was read early and was still sizzling and delicious! A++++. read more

I would love to give Sergio's more stars because they have some pretty good Cuban food. However, the devil is in the details. We were sat in one of the end booths that is sharing a wall with a servers station and every time they cleaned a table, the staff would throw the dirty plates or something on the other side. So each time that was done the booth I sat in shook. It kind of sucked. Also, I ordered coffee and when I tried to put sugar, I couldn't because the sugar was so moist that it didn't want to pour out. So bitter coffee it is. Next, the food came out and our server never came to check on us. We waited like 10 minutes trying to wave her down just to get syrup to eat our pancakes. finally, we asked for our check and that took an eternity. The good: fruit bowl is a nice variety of seasonal fruit, the rosemary potatoes are , and the pastelitos are always great! read more

It's been a few months since my last visit, and once again I had a great experience at Sergios. I actually started following their Instagram page and that's what planted the seed to revisit, since we've been swamped with tax season. As expected I had about a 30 minute wait, which I took advantage of and ordered a coffee as I answered a few emails. I also noticed that there weren't many staff members, which made me worry about service but man just like last time, these Sergios employees just bring it!! Their fluidity and tempo just came together like well lubricated clock gears. Incredibly delicious food and great drinks (had a few haha couldn't help myself they were just so appetizing) !! I've been a part of this community my whole life, and I was truly disappointed by my experience at Sergio's tonight. With the 50th anniversary celebration being advertised for weeks, I expected a welcoming atmosphere. Instead, when I arrived at 8 PM with one guest, we were told they could not seat two people at all. For such a major milestone, I would have expected the restaurant to be better prepared for a busy evening. Even a long wait time, an hour or two, would have been understandable. But to simply turn guests away without offering options felt dismissive and not in the spirit of hospitality. This was especially disheartening on a night that was meant to celebrate 50 years in the community. I will turn to local favorites such as La Carreta and Versailles as other options before going back to Sergio's. Truly disheartening this evening. read more

A few days ago, Thursday to be exact, I went by Sergios Restaurant for what I thought would be a quick bite. To my surprise it was a whole experience, from the moment I walked in, to the moment I left. It was during the afternoon and we actually needed to wait to be seated. It was a decent half hour wait, where I was seated in their bench area waiting to be sat. A lot of foot traffic! And now I can truly understands the commotion with this little Sergios restaurant. Great atmosphere, great service, very friendly staff, amazing and quite tasty food! And a little Cuban coffee at the end went along way! Well worth the wait! Didn't realize how hyper I'd be after that Cuban coffee but man it was an experience.. go figure, and all just for a quick bite. 5 stars Sergios, thank you! In 2011, I worked almost next to Sergios, They previously never got an order wrong. I specifically always order their Chicken Croquetas, I have recommended them all over miami, However If they are rushed they will get the order wrong. A couple of months ago I stood their ordered chicken croquetas, and they gave me ham. Today 12.7.17. I ordered a 16 oz chicken souple, and 5 chicken croquettes, I had my co worker pick it up because I was sick. It came back to me with a small black bean container, and the croquetas are cod not chicken. they were sopose to deliver the correct order now, and its been almost an hour. Make sure you spell things out for them 10 times before you place the order over the phone. I feel horrible having to write this review. They are my favorite place for croquetas (croquettes). read more

Three cheers for Sergio's!!! We checked out this spot a couple weeks back during the unveiling of the World's Largest Croqueta and it left a really good taste in our mouth... Those guys can really throw a party! This time around we decided to order at their window as we had plans to meet some friends for a stroll at a nearby park. Super fast service! I like how they have separate windows to both order and pick up. They have a really well lubed systems going, like clockwork. Especially considering how busy they were! And after it all, our meals were amazingly fresh, hot and quite delicious! Really NAILED that Cuban flavor!
