Came here for Brunch on a Friday and highly recommend it! From the last time I've gone they have a new selection for brunch and new mimosa to the list including a guava one. The food was delicious and the serves was good but could have been better. Overrated doesn't even begin to describe this place. I have no idea how it is always so busy, when the food and service are mediocre at best. The lady from the outside window barely acknowledged me, walked away several times before I could even finish ordering. Today's visit went like this (but in Spanish): Me: Good morning (lady walks away). Me: I'll have a colada and a...(lady walks away) **Lady comes back with my colada and receipt.** Me: I also need a cafe con leche and a...(lady walks away) **lady returns minutes later with cafe con leche and receipt** Me: I'm sorry, I need 2 croquetas and a toast as well (lady walks away and is packing major attitude at this point) **Lady returns with the rest of my order, and a new receipt, but starts arguing with one of the other employees** Wow. Sergio's has become one of my go to brunch places that I keep on rotation. There is almost always a wait and the place tends to always be packed on a weekend day. The cordatio there is fantastic. I usually order the Miami tortilla or the South Beach tortilla. Everything is usually delicious. My favorite thing there though is the fries. They are always so so crispy and delicious. I don't know how the do it. My friend is really loyal to the club sandwich if you're more into sandwiches. I've had different experiences with service. Sometimes it's slow, most of the time it's pretty good. Overall it's the service I expect when I visit a really busy restaurant. There's a lot of outdoor seating that's first come first serve if you don't want to wait the 20/30 minutes. It's a good option if you're there for a quick meal or don't mind the heat. The only con (to me) is that they charge you a $1.50 surcharge if you order breakfast after 12pm. It's so annoying! I'm never there that early and I hate having to pay more because I feel like eggs. Overall Sergio's is great. You can't go wrong with the extensive menu. read more

Still, no matter who is serving you, every time I go there are consistent problems: *Since they removed the salad listing from the flaca menu, waiters act totally confused when I ask for the flaca version of the Cuban Cobb salad. I have to explain to them what that is. Every time. *Waiters also seem confused when I ask for champagne--just champagne, not a mimosa. Sergio's is my favorite local Cuban restaurant chain. Although, as of recently they're many competitors in the the "croquet mania" craze here in Miami, they still remain as one of the best in the market. As far as food, Sergio's is pretty authentic to the Cuban taste and their "La Flaca" menu is great when on a diet. The times I've been to this location I've received good service and attentive servers. Plenty of parking and on cool nights here in Kendall, enjoying dinner outside is pleasurable. read more

Wow, this place is really good. I like the La Flaca Menu too! They give you complementary Cuban bread with Parmesan cheese, which comes out not too much before the food. Their service was super quick and the waitress was really friendly. I like the different choices on the menu, including the cauliflower rice. I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often. We were just here working on my boyfriend's dad's plane at the Miami Executive Airport but I can be sure that the next time we come, we'll stop in. I love Cuban food and this restaurant has tons of delicious items of foods in its menu. Recently, I have been getting Cuban Cobb salads for delivery when I am extremely busy. Most of the time I get fresh food and fresh avocados. However, I ordered a la flaca Cuban Cobb salad and my avocado was brown and not appetizing at all. For a $8 plus $5 for meat, they should put non brown avocados. On the plus side, delivery is usually very quick. Update: the drinks that come with kids meals are only fountain drinks and they tie all the bags together so they spill at least 70% of the time. Sergios should consider putting cans of drinks when they offer delivery service as there is an extra charge for delivery. They should also consider bringing back the online ordering service so we don't have to speak to the people on the phone who takes orders. Even if I am Latina and speak Spanish as it is my native language, some workers who pick up the phone do not understand what is being ordered and I get passed to a person that does. As I was short on time, I ordered a Cuban Cobb salad this evening & it did have fresh avocados that I expected. Please make sure that avocados are fresh and not brown. Service is the youshe typical for Miami; sometimes rushed and mostly cold. But the food is comforting and the prices are low. I was put on hold once for over 8 minutes when I called to place an order. I haven't bothered again. I either go elsewhere or come here for dine in only. The best pan con bistec.....steak sandwich ever! I have had a lot of steak sandwiches and the steak in this one was incredibly juicy and tasty. Very well seasoned steak, with the right amount of tomatoe and string fries. The string fries were actually fried...not the healthiest for those on a diet...but completely amazing! They add a fantastic crunch and flavor to your sandwich. We also ordered the Cuban nachos which consisted of fried plantain chips and black bean hummus. The plantain chips were so good, nice and crispy. The black bean hummus was out of this world! Additionally we ordered the fried yuca with cilantro cream sauce! The yuca was nice and soft...delicious! You can ask for it to be crisper if you prefer. I also recommend the sangria. It was refreshing and flavorful! Not overwhelming but not weak either. I noticed they have a nice wine selection as well for all my wine lovers out there. The location itself is beautiful! Nice indoor space and decor, and a nice patio area as well. I always try to give this place a try because I love Sergio's and my fav location is the coral way and 22nd but let me tell you, this location has the worst service ever. I am not here to bash a restaurant but I do believe that the service needs to improve. Today, I came in for breakfast and was waiting for some outside table to be cleaned. After waiting for 10 mins, we decided to sit at the dirty table in hopes that it would be cleaned. Boy were we wrong. We were then sitting at the table, dirty, for another 5 mins and I had to cal a server so it can be cleaned. My fiancé ordered the Sergio's egg Benedict which they have on their Saturday and Sunday brunch menu, and when the food came out, he loved the first toast but the second, the egg wasn't filled cooked although it was poached. The egg was CLEARLY undercooked and clearly raw. I proceeded to call our waiter and showed her the egg was undercooked and to please take it back, at that point we didn't want another one made because we had somewhere to be. The manager came to ask us what the problem was and we told him the egg was under cooked (raw) and that we werent going to eat it. He argued with me about how a poached egg is cooked and that it's always clear. The staff here needs to be trained better to treat customers well. Not only was it wrong for the manager to come and argue about how an egg is cooked, it's wrong for server to kick people off their tables when they have paid ( as a saw a waitress do to another table). Jammed pack, fast food factory of Spanish food in a busy shopping strips. I ordered 3 steak sandwiches. It took three attempts to get the hostess stand assistant to take my order. Mind you, I am bilingual and spoke in Spanish. There was no language issue here and yet, she was socializing with the other wait staff and manager as she coughed her head off at the register. Finally get my order processed and she losses it and has to get assistance from the socializing manager to get my bill's total. By the way, your order does not get processed by the kitchen until you pay for it. So let's add to the wait time! Went to the bathroom, while I waited. The bathroom was dark and in complete disarray, The paper holder was open and the toilet paper was handled to the point of squeezed and mangled paper. I opted for some napkins I had in my own bag. So nasty. Food arrives, $26 and 23 minutes later, I leave this mayhem. Total Disappointment! The bread was harder then it should have been, had the sandwiches actually been fresh. Instead of the traditional potato sticks, the sandwiches were loaded with burnt greasy onion strips that drowned the ultra thin sparse steak. There was no lettuce or tomato on these sandwiches either and they were $8.00 each. NOT worth it! Forget this place. Go elsewhere! read more

Its a normal, casual,Cuban eatery in Miami.... BUT what they do, they do very very well (specifically at this location. The Coral Way East of Miracle Mile one is just awful) Service is fast and friendly. They messed up part of an order here and there but really nothing huge. There's plenty of seating (indoor & out). I ordered a "Pan con Bistec" (Steak Sandwich Cuban Style) and it was delicious! They use the old style small french fries freshly cooked. Most places they just use the package potato sticks. That was the best part of the sandwich! Try it, you'll like it! The only thing I didn't like in the takeout was that they placed the "colada" of Cuban coffee in the same bag. I spoke to my server she got the manager he came out very defensive. He started out by telling me how many millions they sell I didn't care I just wanted to have a fresh breakfast he explained the microwave was common practice I was blown away. I ordered two simple breakfast orders, waiting an additional 20 minutes for the order just to be finished, only for both orders to come out wrong. The presentation was slop. We usually go for brunch on the weekends, where you can grab a crisp buttery tostada and cafe con leche. Not only are they made fresh daily, which means tasty empanadas all-day, but they have a several types to chose from, you can rarely find this anywhere else. If you want my opinion, the Carne y Maduro is to-die-for; whenever you stop by, order it... you will thank me later! If you like vaca frita, chorizo, or lechon, well, they have those for you as well! For a healthier choice, go with the Chicken one - the chicken is not greasy at all and the empanada is baked instead of fried.. delishhh!! If you are going to do lunch or dinner and are trying to eat healthy, order the Turkey Picadillo with Cauliflower Rice, you will love it! Had a wonderful dinner at this Sergio's! I don't know how they do it but they stay consistently good, old-school Cuban and innovate with healthy options! I loved my "la flaca" chicken cooked in coconut oil (WHAAA!? That's cool) and brown rice with roasted veggies. But what really made this dinner great was our server, SEGISMUNDO or "Mundo" as we called him. So sweet & patient with us, so much attention to detail & kept the coke and water coming. That is, our cups were never empty! That's the kind of service that makes you want to continue to visit a spot all the time. Hats off to this Sergio's for hiring such a lovely server. On my husband's birthday, he told me to order Cuban Food because he was really in the mood for black beans and white rice, something my gringa self does not cook. So I go on GRUB HUB and order him Churrasco with two sides, fornthe two sides I chose black beans and white rice twice. There was no indication this would be a problem. The app said it would take an hour, but I've done this before and know it's always 15 minutes longer - as it was this time. When I unpacked the order there was two white rice and NO BLACK BEANS. So I called the restaurant and reported the problem. I was told that I "can't order two orders of beans", even though the app allows it. She said they need to communicate with the people setting up the app, but that she would take care of my issue and send the beans with the next available driver. 45 minutes later, driver arrives with one serving of black beans. Sigh. So the part of the meal my husband wanted the most was extremely disappointing. So why 2 stars instead of 1? My son also ordered Masitas de Puerco with 2 orders of Moros and declared the masas were the best he'd ever had, they were moist and full of flavor. I don't think I will order Sergio's through GrubHub again. It takes WAY too long and I was not satisfied with the experience. Instead I'll probably stick with Casavana on Postmasts.
