We ordered takeout online and picked it up in person. When we arrived, it took a while to find the right server to bring out our order, which was a bit frustrating. We ate in the car right away after receiving our food to make sure everything was fresh. The ham croquettes were very good. The spinach was okay, and the empanadas and tequeños were also decent. Unfortunately, the Pan con Lechón was a big disappointment. It had no flavor and tasted bland. The bread was cold and a little hard, and the pork lacked seasoning. It seemed like plain stir-fried pork with a little mojo sauce added, but it didn't come together well. Overall, some items were good, but others definitely need improvement, especially the Pan con Lechón.

Sergio's used to be so good and cheap. Now the prices are crazy. Market price for orange juice? The ropa vieja was not juicy and the beans lacked flavor. The rice had hard pieces in it as well. The service was good which is why I didn't give it less stars. This isn't the "your grandmas cooking" restaurant anymore. Seems like they want to be high end dining now. I will not be back. Also floor was sticky and slippery and the bathroom is extremely dark.

This Sergio's Restaurant is located in London Square in Kendall. I wanted a way to celebrate the end of Latinx/Hispanic Heritage month so I came to Sergio's for a early morning pick me up. I wanted to order to-go and I was pointed to order from their Sergio's Go area. This is located around the corner from their main entrance and they have a little ventanita where you can order pastries, coffee, matcha on the go. They also had an small indoor area to grab the items or look at their full menu. I ended up going inside to check the full menu. I was curious because I saw that they have a new drink menu that felt super modern and had intriguing flavors. They even had matcha and heard on social media that I had to try it so, being the match connoisseur that I am, of course I got it. They have two choices, matcha coconut or matcha lavender. I went with the matcha lavender and it was DELICIOUS. It is on the sweeter side, so that's my main note, but if you aren't a matcha fan and love sweet drinks, definitely give this a try. I also got some pastries to go including carne maduro empanada and it was SO GOOD. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good as well. I love adding croquetas to it so that's what I did and it added a bit more depth to the sandwich. After realizing how good our food was, we ended up coming back that same day for dinner. My boyfriend lives near but hasn't been in a while and he said they really updated their menu since the last he came. They had more modern options and it felt like such a good variety to choose from. We sat outside and ordered the mini fritas and chispa fries and also the ropa vieja. Both were pretty good! I didn't love the mini fritas and the chispa fries were good but the red pepper was a bit different. Overall, I think it just wasn't for me but it might be for someone else. My boyfriend loved his ropa vieja though. Overall, a great spot to grab a quick bite to go or have a sit down meal! If you're into coffee (I wish I could have caffeine), definitely try out their newer menu that has cool flavors like Maria Cookie cold foam or honey shaken cortadito.

The chicharrones were pretty good. Don't get me wrong. But my goodness were they overpriced. And what's worse - I got them at a price that they were advertised, but they tried to charge me more. I asked about it and the explanation was that this was the new price. This was a tiny box of chicharrones the size of a McDonald's small fry.. that will now be $10. And the person at cash register who was helping me was NOT happy about me questioning the price. This Sergio's is convenient at its location, but sadly it's not my favorite.

Ordered the Maria cookie crumble latte with oat milk and the cinnamon coconut cold foam. Cinnamon coconut cold foam was way too sweet. Tasted like Dunkin donuts latte and diabetes lol. The cookie crumble latte was better but they gave me whole milk instead of oat. When I called it out, the barista lied and said it was with oat milk. Mind you, I watched her make my latte. So if you're lactose intolerant me mindful they might not take your order specificities into consideration. I also ordered their bacon egg sandwich and I was surprised at how little bacon they gave me. They gave me half a piece... However, the potato bread is delicious so I'll order it again.

I ordered the Cuban Cobb salad for lunch. The order was placed online for delivery. I really liked the salad overall, especially the vinaigrette. I normally get the salad with shrimp or steak. This time I opted for the chicken as my protein. The chicken on the salad was very dry and almost inedible. Next time I will stick to my regular shrimp or steak I ate all of my salad and left the chicken behind.

After having a horrible experience at Casavana Cuban Cuisine three years ago (almost to the day!), I asked my friend from Miami to take us somewhere more upscale--and she absolutely delivered by bringing us to Sergio's. Funny enough, I found out that Sergio is actually owned by the ex-wife of the owner of Casavana--and after their split, she opened this spot. Honestly, it shows. The place is beautifully decorated with a classy, elevated vibe, and you can tell she brought the magic with her. The food? Out of this world. Every bite was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I ordered the breaded steak with white rice and black beans, and it was exactly how I remembered this dish tasting back in the day--absolutely delicious. The only miss for me was the yuca. It didn't feel quite authentic--too hard, and the onion and garlic were way too overpowering. Even my friend agreed it wasn't quite right. But aside from that, everything else hit the mark--reasonably priced, delicious, and served with friendly, attentive service. I can't wait to come back again. Thanks, Sergio, for a memorable evening and an incredible meal! 5 stars for reasonably priced food, friendly service and great atmosphere! I'll be back! Enjoy and Bon Appetit!

Tostones as appetizers were our favorite dish. Service was not the best, had to ask for waters to be refilled multiple times. We sat outside and it was great and we enjoyed it for a noon lunch. The main dishes were average, nothing special and would not come back for them even though it is their fan favorites.

This review is a love letter to their cold foam Maria cookie crumble with Cuban coffee... this drink has me in a chokehold. It's so delicious & always perfectly made by the ladies working the cafe window. I always like to sit outside as the service is typically better. Their tostón trip is also very delicious & from the flaca menu their chicken vaca frita is #1.

Went here for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. We were seated in about 5 minutes. The tables were pretty close together, so with my daughter needing a high chair and the woman seating at the table near me being pregnant, it was a bit of a tight squeeze. It was okay but took a little coordinating. Our service here was just okay. I felt our server was friendly enough but mildly attentive, and maybe due to language issues she spoke only to my husband and not me. The food was delish! Not my favorite Cuban breakfast place... but definitely a good second! I had a mango pineapple mimosa which I highly recommend! Their Miami tortilla was so good. It had potatoes and onions and sweet plantains! We also ordered a Tabla Española appetizer so we could try the chorizo croquetas. They were good.. I'm not a huge chorizo fan, but if you are you'll like these! The appetizer, in general though, was plated gorgeously and was delish!

Everything from the food to the service exceeded our expectations. The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and of excellent quality. The service was outstanding and attentive, it truly enhanced our experience. One of the highlights was the waitress robot, which brought back memories of my time in Japan. Love this place. It's consistently good. A mature gentlemen by the name of "Mundo" took care of us, and he was on his game. I like the fact that they have healthy options here that are reasonable. It's not that you have to have a tasteless lettuce & tomato salad like most Latin places. They actually have tasty options. Tonight I had Chicken Vaca Frita mini tacos, with black bean hummus! Delicious. I also had a cup of green pea soup.... soooo good. It's good to have safe go-to options when you want to catch a quick, good bite! Awesome! read more

I continue to eat here for 2 reasons and 2 reasons only, their empanadas and their vaca frita de pollo. Other than that the service is horrible and they can't even get the cuban bread to taste good. So if you have patience go try the vaca frita de pollo if you dont get it to go. Other than that don't bother everything else is mediocre. read more

I've been gone from my Miami hometown for 3 months and have been deprived of Cuban food!! I am now visiting home and where do I go..?Sergio's! :) Delicious food with great portions at an affordable price. Just this morning- breakfast for 3 arrived to our table with 3 generous portions of tostada, 3 café con leche, 1 natural watermelon juice, and each of our breakfast choices- all for $26. (I already ate half the eggs in the picture) They have the traditional foods and the service was great as well. The ambiance is very nice with spacious indoor and outdoor seating. My craving has been satisfied and will hopefully hold until I return to Miami! Eat here. Haha read more

I am updated my review and upgrading to 4 stars. Decided to return and give it another try. After a long day at work i was in need of some comfort food. Craving Cuban, I returned to Sergio's. I have to say I was impressed. The service was excellent as was the food. The chicken Flaca with brown rice was perfect. The garbanzo soup was hearty and the tamale was tasty. The kids had the palomilla with white rice and black beans. All of which were cooked just right. Based on my experience today, I would return. read more

This particular Sergio's restaurant is family to me. Since it opened I eat here on a regular. The service and quality of food is amazing, fresh and savory!!! About the service, can't go wrong! I must say I have my favorites. My go to girl Gisel is so warm, caring, attentive and do hard working. This young lady deserves a recognition for her diligence and caring demeanor. You will feel like at grandmas house! Literally from food to service. I love to eat as healthy as possible and kitchen accommodates all and I mean all!! Mahi, shrimps, all grilled to perfection. Gisel goes to extra mile and make un cortadito made for conscious eaters! Lactose free, creamy and mouth watering. You should definitely try them out! Great service by Aleydis. She was so kind and attentive from start to finish. Food was excellent - we had croqueticas to start, vaca frita and mojo shredded chicken. We did not have to wait around long for our food, everything came out together. I live in broward and it's hard to find good Cuban food, so whenever I'm visiting my mom I always ask her to bring me here. read more

Same-o same-o cuban food with a flare of fast food. If you're looking for tried and true, this is the place. Very convenient, they deliver locally, nothing outstanding. They have aggressive practices against competition in the same mall that has better food, throwing the weight of their lease agreement to sabotage the steakhouse around their corner because they make better food. Disappointing in the good sport category, these guys are bullies. They're afraid of the competition when it comes to steak, tostones, maduros and soup. Word of advice... everyone benefits from a little competition .. Stop trying to push your fast food as cuban cuisine. read more

Sergios is a hit or miss. I've been going to Sergio's for many years. From the delicious breakfast to the tasty croquetas and Pan con Bistec this location is a staple to the Kendall community. But what happened to service with a smile and nice warm croquetas that aren't dry or the traditional Cuban bread. Lately the croquetas are just not the same. The croquetas are dry and grainy. Let's be honest though not always. If you go in early enough and catch them come recently out of the oven your good. But get there about 10 am 12 am or later theres a very good chance that they're just not that tasty. The breakfast toast is almost always not as warm buttery and crunchy when you order it with your breakfast. If you go to the window for una tostada make sure you ask them to warm it up good because since they're so busy they rush things then you get some dry grainy toast with a smear of butter only in the middle. Additionally if you have any special requests watch out for the veterans in the window that don't smile and give you a look like as if you were being a pain in the rear. Not only that but maybe it's hard to hear in there but why cant they get it right. The ambiance is traditional but after all the rate hikes you would think they would invest into cleaning or replacing the floors instead of investing into the fancy robots that bring you the food on the dirty trays. Not sure what class restaurant Sergio's is but I'm sure if they invest into better ingredients and improve their service they could get to at least a 4 star. Very unhappy with the last few visits where the croquetas aren't as tasty the toast was bland and the service wasn't worth my tip. Not much competition in the area but if there was Las Vegas in the area I might prefer to go there. read more

My family and I dine here on Sunday's for brunch or early lunches... I usually order the mimosas they're so yummy. Wait time is a bit of a problem but that's because the food is always fresh and delicious. Restaurant is clean, and the waitress are usually Friendly and helpful. I live far away but I rather drive to this Sergio's. Definitely recommend. read more

I ordered from the flaca menu and the plate said it included sautéed spinach and the spinach was hardly seen at all. It was very disappointing for it looked nothing like the picture. On top of this when I complained to the waitress she gave me a difficult attitude and was offended when I asked, "where the spinach". I will never eat here again. read more

The food is tasty, but lately the portions seem very small. I was not impressed with the takeout. The black bean container was small and it was mainly liquid. The mahi mahi fish was so thin, it hardly had any meat on it. It was almost $20. Perhaps the dine in experience is a bit better or at least you can better see what it being served. read more

As soon as we walked in the front door, I heard a waitress say under her breath, "Mira lo que acaba de entrar! (look what just walked in!)" When I turned to look at her she was sneering at my 12 year old son. Who is overweight. And has Autism. She didn't notice that I had heard what she said. Needless to say I was very upset at her comment, and her unprofessional demeanor. Her service at our table was terrible. I would say that management would do well by incorporating some sort of sensitivity training upon hiring new employees. But somehow I sense that would just slide right over the heads of people who can't, or won't, make an effort to reach inside the depths of their materialistic little hearts to comprehend such an important aspect of humanity. I have one word for this place :HORRIBLE !!! I have to say it was the worst breakfast I ever seen . I ordered pancakes with my breakfast . Are they kidding ? What pancakes ? Flat , stale, cold pieces of bread that they call pancakes . And they charged us 1.50 because we ate late breakfast ? I have so many more things but it's so frustrating I will not include them all . This place is a fail ! read more

Avoid, at all costs, any of the restaurants Cuban coffee windows. The wait staff is disrespectful, arrogant, and quick, very quick to be mean to the customer. It seems that they forgot that there are many other places to have a quick cup of Cuban coffee in Miami. read more

Was there for a luncheon and the very Loud!! Fire alarm went off for over 45min while eating. At no time did anyone or manager come out to apologize for the he horrible inconvenience while eating. Nor did they even offer atleast a discount on the bill. I told the register lady and she pretended or totally ignored me. Our lunch was ruined with that False Alarm going off while eating. Bad patron treatment for the inconvenience we endured. They should had At least APOLOGIZED!! But Like we never existed. LOST a good customer. read more

Had breakfast this morning. It was so disappointing. I asked for their freshly squeezed orange juice and it most certainly was not. I told the server she apologized and she took it back and fresh orange juice was brought to me. Most people don't care... The Cuban bread with butter was cold and stale. The ham was burned. The café con leche was about the only thing the got right.. After the OJ I decided just finish and go. Not coming back. Not very clean. They partitioned off a section to take the dishes making a very tight squeeze for parents with strollers. I saw 2 families trying to maneuver around the area Way too many tables . Maybe another Sergio will be better but this one is on my do not return list read more

The food is average, portions are small and the worst part is the food always comes out cold. I don't know about you guys but eating cold rice and barely warm pork or beef is not appealing to me and on top of that overpriced for what you're getting. The food is very poor quality and the service is not much better. I had a croqueta preparada that tasted like the ingredients were purchased weeks ago. Most stale bread I've ever had at a restaurant. Long wait time for pick up as well. Nothing like waiting an extra 20 minutes for bad food. read more

Have visited this location multiple times and came to the window countless times but whatever you do; do not come here close to closing - they probably ran out of every ingredient you can possibly imagine. First thing that I found to be interesting is that they don't sell "papas rellenas" here; when the location on Kendall Drive and 107th Avenue does. Second of all; the freaking Cobb Salad doesn't include chicken; $4.50 for bad chicken; no thanks - because this is how the chicken tasted. I had also ordered 2 croquetas and moros to go - the waitress came to us saying they ran out of moros; so I asked to take the croquetas out of the order and she told me they were frying. Was she expecting me to take the croquetas no matter what? No; I don't think so All in all; not a good experience!!! This is a place that I never chose to eat at. Normally we end up here cause my wife wants it. That being said she likes the food, I think it's just ok. I have never been blown away by anything I have ordered, and most recently was severely let down with the croqueta preparada I ordered. The sandwich was was barely above room temperature when it arrived. With all the amazing places to eat in Miami, I think Sergio's is resting on their laurels. read more

I've being here in the past but today food was horrible. The waiter forgot to bring a soft drink but did not forget to try to charge it. I will assume it's due to Mother's Day weekend. However, it was not really full. read more

Breakfast was okay. A little pricey. Nothing out of this world. I did really love the flavor of the Chorizo and also really enjoyed being able to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. However, in my opinion, there are plenty of other Cuban restaurants around the area that are able to provide a better tasting breakfast at a more economical price. read more

From the moment we were seated, Rachel was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She took the time to recommend dishes based on our preferences, and each suggestion was spot-on. I have visited the Sergio's located by the Tamiami airport a fee times since i moved to the Kendall area and the food and service its always great but Today my husband, toddler and i went for lunch and we received amazing service. The server that attended us was beyond awesome, his name is Victor and he gave us exceptional service. The food was great like always and he made our day. He was on point, came by our table several times to check up on us, made my toddler laugh, and gave us total attention when the place was so full, and he was like that with every customer :). I stopped by Sergio's yesterday and got an iced vanilla latte with cold foam, and it was honestly really good. It was on the sweeter side, but in a good way smooth, refreshing, and perfect if you're in the mood for something indulgent. What really stood out, though, was the experience. Is there ever a slow season here? As per the usual this Sergios had a full house. Seems like they're definitely on a roll with their new management. I believe I saw a gentleman there who seemed to be the manager. Making his way all throughout the restaurant, and checking with his team. It's nice to see that interaction with a manager and his staff. After our wait, we were seated and that great service continued onto my husband and me. Excellent food and service. I took my family out for a Cuban dinner and Sergio's did not dissapointed. We went with the Vaca frita, both steak and chicken ones, and also the chimi chicken, suggestion of the waitress elizabeth who by the way was very attentive. She let me try samplers of the mojito vs the sangria and even tho the mojito was a little bit soft , the sangria was on point and we bought the pitcher with the mariquitas. I really like this restaurant. The food is always fresh and made accurately as ordered. The service is great! The manager Damian Amantegui is very professional and really knows what he is doing. He goes around to make sure everything is as we expected. Good Evening. There's something different in the air here at this specific Sergio's location. I've come here for years but not in a while due to Covid .. but being here this evening, was incredible. It was a fair atmosphere before, but it's quite great now. Clearly there's new management, as they have more of a nicer flow to how they operate, and meals came very fresh and quick. Brought my family to this location after going shopping, WOW! What amazing and DELICIOUS MEALS!! Sergios hit the nail on the head as far as grandmas Cuban cuisine!! There was a wait to be seated, but once we did it was a nice family friendly, busy environment! Food came steaming and very fresh! My wife and I got to enjoy a few delicious cocktails and honestly a great time! First time to this location, but I promise it won't be my last! Food is ok, i come to lunch pretty much about 3 to 4 times a week. I must admit that i have gotten used to it. They could do a bit better at seasoning their palomilla steak, however their churrasco is fair. Believe it or not their burger is very good so that is why i give them my 3 stars for A-OK. Anyways if you decide to come out to this joint, their cuban food is good as far as restaurant quality is concerned and their famous "fritas" is a must try. read more

This family-friendly spot is clean, fast, and tasty. We came on a Sunday at 6. The music was appropriate to set the Latin mood, but it was not loud. Our server, Zulema, was friendly and attentive. We had the mariquitas appetizer (hot and fresh with delicious garlic sauce), shrimp creole, and chimichurri chicken (say that fast five times). We were stuffed and happy. Try this place. Sergio's is one of our go-to restaurants for quick and good Cuban food. With a large family that has some who like to eat healthy, the la flaws and vegetarian dishes are great. On our last visit we had great service, Dulce our server treated us great. The dinner was great, my loved her chick pea fro added and our kids loved the chimi chicken and chicken vaca frita . I was glad to see they were following safety protocols across the whole restaurant and the staff was certainly careful as well.
